It’s funny but the last bit is where my real issue comes up with their updated terms of service.
I just jumped through hoops to regain access to this account and I started it years ago as a place to keep track of the fics and artwork that made me love this pairing and the fandom in general so I feel sentimental about it….
But.
I really don’t agree with these changes. First and foremost, it feels like it’s only being done in hopes of regaining love from Apple. Second, perhaps I’m over analyzing, but this seems targeted. Tumblr has been a wonderful platform to offer support and resources for body and sex positivity, the majority of which (that I’ve seen) having come from female & lgbtq+ bloggers. On top of that, there was that time a few years ago they banned some questionable tags (#gay & #lesbian for ex) in the name of more “sfw” content supposedly. There’s already been so much content that’s been flagged that’s actually completely acceptable. Third, and this ties into the second point, there are violent Nazi and white supremacist blogs currently active with seemingly little to no repercussions.
Of course, I know there is/was some truly awful and problematic nsfw content that was rightfully removed. Choosing not to, at the least, also ban extremely racist content seems wrong.
So all this to say, because of my conflicting feelings on this, I’m considering leaving this platform. I gave up my personal Tumblr long ago and I don’t log into this account nearly as often anymore. Swear I’m not trying to sound dramatic here, it’s just something I’ve genuinely been thinking about lately and this kind of a “final straw” moment for me.
I don’t know. I feel like I’ve been making a lot of non-wolfstar posts lately and I’m really sorry about that.
