Some cis people really will be like “Oh I just CANT use the right name/pronouns because I’ve known them for so long as [deadname]!” and then misgender a trans person they’ve just met who is open about their gender & pronouns. Like, obviously time isn’t the issue here. Make an effort.
having socially ‘transitioned’ my name years ago, it feels amazing to finally have my name reflected correctly on legal documents, identification, etc. not only that, "X” as a gender marker has recently become a possibility for me…!
except, you know. not really. because everything always has to be complicated for me. always. and America is fucking ridiculous.

Haha, when your parent refers to you as the wrong gender, refers to your chosen name as “just a nickname”, deadnames you, and using the wrong pronouns all in one sentence.
Just like, as a question, does anyone kinda have an undeadname?
Because l I don’t entirely dislike being referred to by my birth name, I still prefer my chosen name and will ask ppl to refer to me with it. I guess it really depends on the day and how I’m feeling.
