#dont get me wrong

LIVE

If it’s not obvious, this blog pretty much died out. I’m turning off the ask option (mostly because I get 5 questions [per ask] about old posts that I honestly don’t remember much about). Save your time and energy into an active blog, this baby is done.

this chapter is almost 7000 words long and I haven’t even gotten to the meat of it yet.

These last days, I genuinely haven’t been able to remember if I’ve posted something.

Spoilers: I apparently hadn’t.

It’s been one of those weeks where you have to look at the calendar to even remember what happened.

Apparentlywithin the last 24 hours, I had an environmental portrait for a professor…

(it wouldn’t be nice to show someone’s personal portrait so here’s a penguin from the aquarium instead)

…an enormous food and beverage shoot for a hotel…

…followed by photos at a healthcare technology symposium.

(it wouldn’t be nice to show– oh, you get the drill)

Sooooooo, yeah.

It’s basically been like this. Thanks for the patience, y’all.

I think I’m, uh… gonna go get some sleep now.

Pop-Quiz:

If some random animal flew right into your face, do you:

A.) Flail hysterically trying to brush it off or grab it, while shutting your mouth as tight as you can.

or

B.) Sit there, not moving, holding your neck, even though the thing isn’t anywhere near it, opening your mouth further for better access.

If your answer is B, then congrats, you are as smart as the average SHIELD agent. :)

guess who’s the new neo taking over my life? T_T

Manon: Literally kills and murders people for fun– everyone loves her, fuck yeah redemption arc, she’s so cute with her little wyvern

Chaol: Doesn’t fully accept Aelin and her choices, can be kind of an asshole on occasion– everyone hates him, he’s a piece of shit, he doesn’t deserve a happy ending

beachcitylocal:

okay we have ‘love, simon’ and ‘to all the boys i’ve loved before’ now we need a f/f rom com to complete the trinity

Booksmart! (except that the wlw storyline was not the A plot (and it was two white femme girls) but that pretty much sums up the type of wlw representation we get, doesn’t it?)

critical-thinking-is-mandatory:

once more thinking about the tragedy of YA dystopia :/

like. they all just hopped on the capitalism train because of the hunger games’ success and like. just copy-catted instead of like, using dystopia for its intended purpose: to tell the reader what (the author thinks) society should never be like, based on an existing issue in the real world. like, most YA dystopia is straight up just made to capitalise on the dystopia craze without actually putting any political thought into a very political genre :/

and like you can pinpoint the (fairly) recent YA dystopia craze back to the Hunger Games and the success there and, to Collins’ credit, the Hunger Games really do deserve the success. like, THG really does marry YA and dystopia together beautifully. it’s a story but it’s also a message. and that is what dystopia is all about babayyy.

but because of that we got our copycats, and you know they’re copycats because, for one, there’s the timing. you don’t just magically get a sudden influx of a certain genre of book/movie for no reason. but also, so much of these copycats is built on very literal interpretations of THG. it’s all “badass warrior girl” this and “the government is bad” that and “love triangle blah blah”. in a way they ‘borrow’ what, on a surface level, they believe made THG so successful in the first place.

but in copying they never actually understand. (and this is why i am so against copying homework n shit.) they never learned from THG. they don’t understand dystopia and why or how comes about or what it is meant to achieve. because dystopia is meant to deliver a political message.

and like, sure, (some) YA dystopia has merit as entertainment but that. is. not. the. point. of. dystopia. and i am just. i want to know what would’ve happened if ya dystopia had actually done the genre justice.

Lmao Gege telling Gojou fans to pick Nanami instead of Gojou because of the jump festa poll…

Basically telling us our taste sucks, and Gege is absolutely right

One has grace, very professional, recognises that teens are just kids, also relatable…

The other is…well, he is supposedly cool but 90% of the time he’s like this…

Yeah…you get the point

Will be not posting any artworks today so have this instead;(more like a rant)

Why Do I Ship Sasuino & Gaasaku?

It’s more likely because of the reason ‘If ino can change sai then she can change sasuke’ and have been shipping them since i started watching naruto when i was young, back then i Ship them because of their clothing colors lol i mean purple + blue is cool. Plus i still think their child would be strong and handsome/pretty.

And now to gaasaku… Have no reason lol i literally just ship them because of red + pink is cute oh and probably because gaara is single at boruto (along with his yee yee ass haircut ).

GAARA’S HAIR DRAMA

THIS. THIS CRAP IS THE ONLY THING I WOULDN’T ACCEPT IN BORUTO- WHY YOU GOTTA DO GAARA LIKE THAT KISHIMOTO- HIS PAST HAIR IS SO GORGEOUS LIKE WHY YYYYYY?????!!???

Drama

i see a lot on Tweeter saying people ship sasuino/sasukarin/sasuhina because they hate Sakura.. I don’t get it?

I like sakura from the very start too but i rather ship her to gaara or naruto than sasuke (yes kind of ship sasusaku but not a fan) I respect all of the ship in naruto but why attack sakura tho? How much I’m a very very big fan of Sasuino i ship the canon because they do make sense. But please sasusaku fans don’t go attacking sasuino with 'at least ours are canon’ 'Sasuke doesn’t give a fck about ino lmao’ sht. If a sasuino fan doesn’t bother you and your ship don’t bother us…

Edit[ Sometimes sasuino fans kind of start the chaos too which where i will say just enjoy our own ship than bother the canon, we can all enjoy our Au’s!]

About sasuhina tho… why did you ship them yeah yeah ik there child would be strong and look cool but like sasukarin and sasuino make sense more than them- I’m not attacking the ship i just really wanna know when did the ship started? because i was 13 when i found out the ship exist (kinda like the sasuhina fanarts tho-)

Now Sasusaku fans don’t go around saying they hate sakura just because they ship sasuino/sasukarin/sasuhina… they literally might think the ship is cute plus yours already canon right? how the hell they will destroy a canon ship lmao- Oh plus narusasu stands out more (literally 90% of people watching naruto ship them-)

oh wanted to say don’t compare the characters they good and beautiful on their own plus have different contribution to the plot which is kind of important too

(You can compare Danzo tho like i hate that btch so much)

My Main ship’s;

Sasuino

Gaasaku

Naruhina

Nejiten

Shikatem

SuiKarin or Saikarin (i know sai x karin seems weird but if I’m going to give ino to sasuke might as well give sai a wife- their marriage can be like how choji met his wife)

Ship’s I Support;

Narusaku

Sasusaku

Gaaino (im a fan of both ino and gaara-)

Narusasu (Sees this ship almost everywhere-)

SaiIno

Naruino (both blondie so-)

Inosaku (yes. i ship them. i mean ino looks like a simp for sakura lol-)

Ship’s i found out exist, not supporting but i respect;

Sasuhina

Sasukarin

NaruKarin

Saisaku

KakaSaku (eyo wut-)

Itasaku

Itasasu (SWEET HOME ALABAMA-)

I’ve read all kinds of posts both from writers and readers lamenting about comments on fic. Authors are upset when they don’t get any, readers don’t know what kinds of comments to leave, etc. And it finally clicked in my brain why I think a lot of people don’t bother writing comments.

And this is what it boils down to:

Writers do not want praise.
We just want to talk about our story.

I can’t speak for everyone obviously - but I think the majority of writers don’t care so much for the “omg you’re a brilliant writer!!” comments as much as we just want to hear your thoughts on the story. Even if it’s just your thoughts as you’re reading of “oooh x happened! I can’t believe y said this! What’s going to happen now that z has happened?!” We literally just want to talk about what we’ve written like you would with a friend about a tv show. We’re not out here demanding praise like some entitled narcissist.

While praising our writing skills or writing style is appreciated, it doesn’t need to be said on every fic and every chapter that you read. If you regularly comment on someone’s work that’s telling enough that you like our technique. Readers shouldn’t feel pressured to have to praise a writer’s abilities every time they want to comment.

In the grand scheme of things, talking about the fic/chapter is actually more helpful to us writers instead of spewing praise. It’s the same with artwork. As nice as it is that people tell me “wow your art is so pretty!” it’s a LOT more useful to me to get comments like “I love their expressions!” or “the lighting on this is gorgeous!” because then I know WHAT people are liking about it. If no one ever comments on my backgrounds, I now know what to improve. If most people comment on liking the expressions, I now know the strong points of my art and can use it to my advantage to make even better art in the future.

The same goes for fic. If multiple people tell me they liked a certain part of the story I now know that things similar to that are a hit. It’s feedback I can use to improve the story and give my readers more of what they want. Without that I have no idea what they like about the fic.

Talking with a writer about their story also gives them inspiration!! Nothing gets us more in the mood to work on a fic than to have people wanting to talk about it. A lot of times just talking about one of my fics with someone will give me that push to continue working on it. Getting a comment that just says “great chapter” or “you’re a great writer” doesn’t do much to motivate us to continue that particular fic. But if you talk about the story and the characters it gives us motivation to continue working on it, may even give us ideas for future chapters. I would hope that those of you with “comment anxiety” find this approach so much easier than trying to praise the writer every time you read.

So that fic the author hasn’t updated in forever that you’re dying to read? Talk to them about the fic and the elements of the story! It will make the writer want to talk to you about it and will get their mind thinking about it, hopefully inspiring them to continue where they left off. Fics that are left in silence are more likely to be abandoned or even deleted because nothing feels worse than putting your heart into a story to have no one say anything about it.

TLDR; Writers do not want praise, we just want to talk with our readers about the story itself, and these are the kinds of comments that inspire us to keep writing more.

YOU!
YOU CAPTURED IT!
