Aren’t they soo cute??!

Are you ready for the new movie of Fantastic Beasts?

I can’t wait to see it! Through i will feel lonely not having Johnny Depp as Grindelwald. Plus we will be seeing a younger version of Newt Schamander… i hope we get to see Eddie Redmayne, cause i love his performance on all of his movies! Specially on Fantastic Beasts!

And of course i need some niffler and bowtruckle scenes cause they are sooo cute!

Although I do like the Newtina ship, but as a black female fan of the Harry Potter franchise, I was rooting for Leta and Newt more. Taking away the race dynamics, Leta and Newt simply have more chemistry than Newt and Tina. The way that Newt starred at the photo of her in the first film was beautiful. Leta Lestrange’s storyline is incredibly hurtful and offensive. If you’re going to write more diversie characters, specifically black female characters, don’t write her as the product of the rape of a black woman, a “tragic mulatto,” and then only to have her sacrifice herself for her white suitors. Regardless of which Scamander she ended up with, I wanted Leta to be more than a mere footnote in the love story of Newt Scamander and Tina Goldstein’s relationship. I wanted to see more black women be sought after and loved as full human beings and love interest in sci-fi/fantasy. I know that Tina and Newt’s marriage and Bellatrix Lestrange exist in the HP books. So, does that mean JK Rowling planned this awful storyline from the beginning? However, At the very least, a fun friendship between Leta, Newt, Tina, Queenie, and Jacob. I honestly wish JK Rowling hadn’t even created Leta Lestrange to disrespect her in this way.

Would anyone be into writing or (co-writing with me) a Newt Scamder x Black!Reader series, or do I have to do it? It’d be cool to see with the time frame and Newt’s personality.

This pisses me the fuck off. Come on people please go see this film in theaters. If the movie doesn’t do well enough we won’t get another one.

Minden búcsú egy kis halál.

Theseus X Reader

Overview: You can’t help but notice the way Theseus acts around Leta, causing you to wonder if the kiss meant anything to him like it did for you.

“Uh….Hi.”

Theseus Scamander looked up from the book he was reading his heart instantly started to hammer violently against his rib cage. He didn’t know what to say. After the kiss all Theseus had done was talk about you-it had got so bad that Newt, bored out of his mind hearing about how amazing you were, had simply walked away, muttering under his breath to what ever animal he was hiding in his breast pocket that day. And now, here you were and all Theseus could choke out was “hello.”

He tried to look nonchalant, but jammed his hands under the table so you wouldn’t see the way they’d started to sweat.

You slid into your normal seat, pulling your stuff out and setting up the usual book towers, with a parting in the middle so you could look at each other. He looked so cute today. You couldn’t help it-how was it possible for someone too look that good all the time? It should be illegal.

“So…how are you?”

“Hm?” You blinked, realising he was talking to you “Oh, fine thanks.”

“Good.”

“You?”

“Good. Fine. The usual.”

You frowned,perplexed. He was acting odd. Okay, you weren’t expecting some passionate make-out session and the exchanging of promise rings, but you at least thought that he’d want to talk to you.

That was it. The end to the conversation. This was then followed by ten minutes of awkward quill twirling, you cracking your knuckles and him scratching the slight stubble on his jaw. Both trying to get on with your work and both unsuccessful. Inside you were screaming. Why was he acting like this? Had the kiss really been that bad?

Just then, an unfamiliar voice piped up “Theseus, Hi!”

Theseus turned, his face breaking into a beaming smile “Hey Leta.”

Leta Lestrange. Already she was irritating because of how stunning she was-and she was a fifth year. You’d seen her with Newt in the corridors, heard what people had said about her-a ball of energy that you either hated or loved. You hadn’t quite decided which one you felt yet as you attempted to push your jealousy aside. She came up and walked into Theseus open arms, giggling lightly as he jokingly rocked her side to side, her raven hair bouncing “Oh, hey!” Leta smiled, breaking the hug. She held out her hand “I’m Leta.” You shook it and introduced yourself. Her eyes widened in recognition “you’re the famous Y/N!”

“Famous?” You asked.

“Theseus was just talking about his study friend yesterday!” She lovingly poked his shoulder “even choosing to stay at Hogwarts with her instead of coming to spend Christmas with my family like he always does.”

“Newt’s going with you!” Theseus smiled lightly.

“But I wanted to spend time with you.”

You weren’t listening anymore. All you could hear was the taunting drill of the word “friend.” You’d never felt so angry and hurt in your life. “Friend.” You tried to catch Theseus’s eye, but he was watching Leta with an expression that make your blood boil. You knew that you’d only just kissed recently but the fact that he was labelling you a friend made everything so much worse. And the way he was smiling at her, all caring and loving. You couldn’t compete with that. You tried to hide your tears by looking down at your work, letting you hair fall in front of you. Your ears were straining hard however, desperate to hear what Theseus was going to say.

“I do always love Christmas at yours.”

“There’s still time to book a seat on the train.”

For a second, he considered it. You were acting so odd around him, making the idea of spending Christmas together awkward and daunting. But when he looked over and saw you, he just couldn’t do it. He’d miss you too much.

“Ill pass thanks Leta,” he smiled politely, and she shrugged sadly.

“I’ll miss you,” Leta sighed, resting her hand on his shoulder.

“Look after Newt for me.”

“Yea Yea,” she rolled her eyes “I guess I’ll see you next term?”

He pulled her into one more hug “Merry Christmas Leta.”

“Merry Christmas Theseus,” Leta turned to leave, waving to you goodbye; you didn’t return it. You decided you definitely hated her. Leta walked off and the heavy cloud of uncertainty descended once more. You were tying to stay silent, biting the inside of your cheek until you could taste blood, but your anger was almost uncontrollable.

“She seemed nice.”

“She is,” Theseus nodded “we’ve been friends for years.”

You scoffed “yea right.”

“I’m sorry?”

“Well,” your tone was dripping with acidic sarcasm “I don’t fondle my male friends.”

“She wasn’t fondling me,” Theseus’s cheeks were flushed and his face scrunched up in confusion.

“She was stroking every part of you!” You mocked her high pitch tone, batting your eyelids and tossing your hair about “Ooo Theseus I wanted to spend time with you.” Theseus, stared aghast as you giggled sarcastically “I’ll miss youuuuu.”

“Why are you being so bitter?”

“I’m not.”

“Yes you are,” Theseus said, his gut twisting “she’s just a friend.”

“You sniffed “What, like I’m just a friend?”

“Y/N no! what’s with you?”

“I don’t know Theseus. Maybe because you’re too ashamed of me to tell your precious Leta the truth!”

There was a deathly silence. Theseus was stunned. He didn’t know what to do. He’d never seen you this angry; eyes sparkling with tears, your voice quivering with emotions. It honestly frightened him.

Gently, he repeated “Leta is just a friend.”

“Oh come on Theseus,” you choked “I see the way she looks at you.”

“And yet,” Theseus replied “all I see is you.”

Your heart fluttered wildly. The crushed quill in your hand was dropped, and you suddenly felt very vulnerable sat there, blotchy skin and heightened breath.

Theseus braced himself. “Do you regret it? The Kiss?”

You shook your head. “No.”

“Me neither.” Your heart swelled with relief and you instinctively reached out and grabbed one of his hands, allowing his fingers to gently tickle your palm as he smiled at your warmly. “I don’t think I ever could.”

“Well that’s a relief,” you laughed lightly.

He unlinked your hands to move around to sit by you, his eyes shining under the low light of the library. You were glad at this moment that you two were hidden by shelves of dusty books else everyone would see the way he was looking at you. Like what he was seeing was something so amazing he didn’t want to look away.

“I thought you didn’t want to be with me,” he admitted.

Your eyes widened “are you crazy? All I want to do is spend time with you.”

And that was all the conformation Theseus needed. Cupping your cheek he leant in, but stopped, your lips millimetres apart. He was teasing you. your skin started rippling with goosebumps. You looked into his eyes, the way at they twinkled behind his glasses, his slight smile. He paused a second more, enjoying the way you grew more and more desperate, before pressing his lips against yours.

This time the kiss was different. Both bodies in sync, breath small and quick with desperation as you didn’t want to stay away from each other my longer than You had to be. You could feel this one was different because It was both of you. Both of you were smiling. And as you kissed, you both felt the same thing; your hearts starting to fall.

The entrance hall was crammed with hundreds of excited Students, all clamouring at a very red faced Filch barking at them to form a line. People were wrapped in their house scarfs, and bobble hats twinkling Christmas tunes  when squished made the atmosphere even more magical. Theseus Scamander scanned the crowd, looking for you without trying to look too panicked. You’d agreed to go together to hogsmead but there was still a part of his brain that thought maybe you’d changed your mind. Nevertheless, he’d been determined to make an impression, and has worn his favourite grey jumper and had attempted to tame his hair, although after multiple failed attempts had been able to cram his curls under a dark blue bobble hat. He heard his name being yelled and whipped around, to see you trying to push through a crowd of burly Slytherin 5th years.

“I was beginning to think you’d stood me up,” he teased, the sense of relief making his body lighter.

“I forgot my galleons,” you laughed “shall we go?”

You both signed out with filch and followed the snowy path down from the grounds to the village nestled below a cloud of smoke rising from the chimneys. Your conversation was light and comfortable, only breaking when one of you occasionally slipped on a patch of ice, causing the other to burst out laughing.

“Who do you need to buy for?” You asked.

“Mum, Dad, Newt and You.”

“Newt’s your brother right? The one who keeps all of the animals?”

He sighed, smiling. “He’s crazy. He wants a pair of dragon Hyde gloves because he keeps burning his hands. I think he’s found  a salamander egg.”

“So are you going to buy them then?”

“I’ve been saving for the past 2 months for them.”

In that moment you didn’t think your heart could melt any more. You grabbed his hand and headed towards the potions supply store first so he could get them. Inside it smelt of burnt Lavender, the walls covered with glass jars containing different coloured liquids. Some were luminous and glowed like little flames, others were bubbling so violently they rattled in their holders. There were cauldrons full of dried up grindylow skulls and boomslang skin littered about too, although these caused a chill to run down your spine.

“Here’s the pair he wants,” Theseus said, carrying a pair of dark red gloves, thick like leather yet made of thousands of tiny scales that rippled when moved. He looked at the price tag-and his heart sunk. They were way more expensive than he thought they were going to be.

“What’s wrong?”

“I’m short by 5 galleons,” Theseus grimaced, dropping them back on the table where he just picked them up “that’s fine. I’ll just have to get him something else.”

He went to move away, but your hand wrapped around his wrist. “I can give you the money.”

“It’s fine,” Theseus brushed off “I can get him something else.”

You grabbed the gloves and went up to the counter “these please,” you smiled to the witch, who nodded.

“Y/N no, it’s fine.”

“It can be part of your Christmas present.”

“I don’t want to owe you anything.”

“You don’t,” you shook your head “stop worrying.”

He smiled, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck as he handed over the rest of the money, grabbed the wrapped parcel and stepped back out onto the snowy street. “Thank you.”

“That’s okay.”

“I promise I’ll pay you back,” He gabbled, his eyes wide “I don’t want to owe you money-“

You cut him off “Theseus stop. It wasn’t a charity thing, or something to embarrass you by.” You stepped closer to him, you glove hand intertwining with one of his “you promise me you won’t beat yourself up about it?”

Theseus kept looking down, partly out of sheepish embarrassment and also he was staring hard at your hand, willing for his hand to not get uncomfortably warm so you wouldn’t pull away. “I won’t,” he smiled “thank you. So much.”

You squeezed his fingers. “C’mon, let’s go to Honeydukes.”

“Well,” Theseus puffed, dropping onto a stool and pulling off his gloves by his teeth “You could say that was successful.”

“I can’t feel my toes,” you laugh, dropping your wrapped packages on the floor of the three broomsticks and sighed, your body defeated. You were able to get everything off your list-a set of wizards chess for mum, a collection of old Quidditch cup brochures for Dad, sweets from honeydukes and stink Pellets for your friends and siblings. You’d also been able to buy something for Theseus when he was talking to a group of his friends that you’d bumped into, and you couldn’t wait to watch him open it. “I’ll get drinks,” Theseus said “two butterbeers?”

“Oh my days please,” you laugh, and he went off to the the bar. You warmed your hands by the fire, admiring the large Christmas tree that was lodged right between the table, making them almost invisible to the rest of the Pub.

Theseus returned to the table carrying two large mugs of golden liquid, and the pair of you sat in silence, taking deep gulps and staring into the fire.

“You staying at Hogwarts for Christmas?” You asked.

He nodded. “Newt too. Mums abroad for work. You?”

“First time.”

“Great, so I can’t even escape you in the holidays.”

“Rude!” You giggled “I’m returning your Christmas present.”

“No wait I’m sorry,” Theseus back peddled, his eyes twinkling with delight “have I told you that you’re the most beautiful human I’ve ever seen?”

Your face got very hot, and it wasn’t from the roaring flames. “No,” you leaned in closer, trying to keep your voice steady. You heard his breath hitch slightly. You were both co close you could count the freckles dusting his cheekbones, see the way his pupils dilated and moved. Theseus swallowed, trying to keep his cool. He wanted to lean in so badly. Just a split second and his lips could touch yours.

Do it, you desperately thought, Kiss me.

Kiss her his mind goaded.

And then, as he was about to move, a loud ringing made you start. 5 o’clock.

You both had jumped back, the air between you awkward and heavy. Students started to disperse, making their way back up to the castle for dinner. Neither of you moved. You hid behind you hair. He hid behind his glasses. Neither of you knew what to say. Finally, Theseus coughed. “We should….you know..”

“Yea,” you said, standing up and pulling your hat and coat back on. You both picked up your parcels and made your way back out into the the snow, trudging back up the hill as the sky started to turn a molten pinky orange. You got to the shrieking shack and paused, huffing heavily. The parcels were becoming a hindrance, so you placed them on the ground, waved your wand and with a pop they vanished-they should be on your bed when you get back to the common rooms. Theseus did the same. Another silence followed.

“Y/N.”

You looked at him. His curls were tinged gold from the sun, his cheeks flushed red from the cold, looking so handsome it caused your stomach to jolt. “Back there. With us-“

“It’s fine.”

“No it’s not. I shouldn’t have done that, I don’t want to pressure you into doing anything.”

“Oh.”

“No that I didn’t want to,” Theseus panicked, tripping over everything he wanted to say in a desperate attempt for you not to look so hurt “I wanted to. Very much-why wouldn’t I want to, you’re gorgeous-“

“You wanted to?” You snapped your gaze up to his, your heart racing a hundred miles an hour. Theseus stopped, realising what he’d just said. “Of course I do.”

He smiled shyly, and butterflies erupted in your stomach. Theseus leaned in, his throat clenching as he gently put his hands on your waist. He paused, raising his eyebrows to ask if that was okay, to which you nodded and did the same. You were so close, your breath mingling together just that moment longer.

And then, softly, Theseus leaned down and pressed his lips against yours. Your eyes closed, relaxing your lips so that the pair of you moulded together. His hand gripped around you, pulling you in as he leaned further into the kiss, his mind screaming with joy. When you broke away he cupped your face in his two hands, wanting this moment, of you standing there with the light of the setting sun making you more beautiful than he ever thought possible, to burn into his brain. He couldn’t help himself but lean in again, making sure that his glasses didn’t knock your nose. You lost track of time, didn’t notice the sky growing darker and the stars start to appear. you only focused on each other, and how all you wanted to do was to stay there, in this moment, lost in each other.

overview: A couple of weeks have gone by since you and Theseus started to hang out and the pair of you can’t help but notice each other more and more

It’s terrible isn’t it?”

Theseus Scamander looked up from the parchment, his slightly dazed expression focusing on your anxious one. He paused, wanting to build the suspense. “Much better,” he grinned, pushing the parchment back to you “defiantly better than your last essay.”

You whooped in delight, not caring about the scowls you received from the group of fourth years huddled around the wireless spitting out muggle Christmas tunes. Theseus chuckled. He watched as you read back his feedback, racking his brain for something funny or charming to say. It had been three weeks since you two had started to study with each other, and every time he went over conversation topics in his head. He’d deliberately started to leave his work later and later despite the niggling anxiety that’d would sit in his stomach- the more he had to do the more time he got to spend with you.

“How did your muggle studies go?” You asked, snapping him out of his thoughts.

“Not great.”

“Oh no.”

“Don’t worry about it,” he brushed off “I’ve been given an extension.” You knew he wasn’t telling the truth though. The deep frown lines between his eyebrows were a clear sign that he wasn’t happy with what he got. You couldn’t help but feel guilty. What had started as the occasional hour or two had become every night meet ups until the very early hours of the morning. Same tables, same time. You’d listened to Theseus’s excited rants about him wanting to become an auror, that this was what he’d wanted to be once since his first year.  He couldn’t afford to start to drop now, and he knew that.

“Give me the book.”

“Why?”

“I’m going to test you.”

“Y/N no” he shook his head and almost knocked off his glasses in the process “you don’t have to.”

“I don’t have to, I want to.”

“Y/N-“

“Theseus” you cut him off, grabbing his hand that was trying to get the book and held on, trying to ignore the part of your brain where all you were thinking about what how lovely it felt having his thumb instinctively hook around yours “let me help you.” He opened his mouth to protest, but when he saw your wide eye gaze, he felt his pride melt away. He nodded.

“Okay,” you flipped open the book “where shall we start?”

 You spent the next two hours testing him on the muggle world war, prompting and correcting until he was able to answer any question without hesitation. Once again, the sun had set and the library was starting to empty, causing the early December chill to start to set in your joints.

“When was it believed for the war to finish?” You asked, your teeth violently chattering.

“Christmas 1914,” Theseus cocked an eyebrow “are you cold?”

“What? Nooo.”

Dropping his quill, he started to pull his jumper off, messing up his hair into an adorable halo. You tried not to look at the exposed skin by his waist-you failed. The jumper was stretched and faded, but when you pulled it on you couldn’t help but sigh as the warmth engulfed you.

“Very cute,” Theseus teased. You struck an over dramatic pose, flicking your hair “I really rock the baggy look.”

“Defiantly,” Theseus nodded, before realizing how eager he’d looked and then mentally slapped himself. You didn’t notice however, as a second later you yelled so loudly you heard a pile of books fall a few aisles away, followed by someone swearing colorfully.

“It’s snowing! Theseus look!” You knelt on the desk to get a better view, Theseus leaning over with his head by your shoulder. Although it was pitch black outside, thick flurries of white snow were dashing by the window as thick as Cotton wool balls.

“Just in time for Hogsmead as well.”

“You were planning on going?” Theseus asked casually.

You nodded “I’ve got to get Christmas presents I time to send them before the last owl.”

“Me too.” He hesitated. Took a deep breath and pushed any of his nerves aside “would you want to go with me?”

You looked at him. He nibbled his lip nervously.

“But then you might see what I get you for Christmas.”

“I promise I won’t look,” Theseus smiled “I’ll even take my glasses off.”

“Don’t, you know I find your glasses cute.”

“That’s why I always wear them.”

Ignoring the urge to have a whole-body reaction to his last comment you said “it’s a date.”

“Cool.”  You looked down at him, his smile so charming you couldn’t help but smile back. His hands were clasped under his chin, pushing his face to look rounder and more childlike. He opened his mouth as if he was about to say something. You felt your breath catch. You leaned forward slightly, letting the sleeves oh his jumper to hide your clenched fists to hide your nervousness. He paused. Then, a heavy blush coloring his pale skin, he closed it again. You both went to looking back at the snow, both brains thinking the same yet too stubborn to do any more. Both pulses thumping and disappointment on your faces.  The clock struck one. Time to go. Reluctantly, Theseus started to pack up your stuff, and distinguishing the candles with a flick of his wand. He held out a hand and helped you down, politely nodded goodnight to the Librarian skulking at the desk waiting for you to leave so she should lock up. You walked together in silence through the shrouded corridors to the west wing where you would part ways to your different common rooms. Theseus said goodnight, and started to walk when you called “I still have your jumper!”

Theseus turned back, his smile soft and his voice full of adoration.

“You keep it. It never looked as good on me as it does on you.”

Overview:You’re going to the library late at night to study and Theseus Scamander can’t resist speaking to you when you study opposite one another.

A/N:This is my first ever imagine here on tumblr so if it’s not the best then don’t hate me haha. If you have any requests for more Theseus imagines or anything else(I can write other people too) then just let me know.

The library seemed to block out the echoing yells of the rest of the school. Heaving a sigh of relief you scrabbled to grab your wand from your pocket whilst clutching onto the pile of dusty books that were precariously slipping with the sheen of rain from the outside. A lazy flick and they were hovering in a neat pile. The followed you as you started to make your way through the aisles of books and clusters of students to find a quiet place to study. Classic you, you’d left an essay for Potions at the last minute, which meant pulling another all nighter to get it done in time.

In the corner, tucked between shelves about hinkypunk origins and water plants and their properties, were two desks opposite each other, worn in and forgotten. They were right by a window though, with a view of the sprawling grounds, and that made it your favorite spot to go to. You were surprised however to see that you weren’t alone.

A 7th year boy was hunched over the desk, scrawling hurriedly on at least a foot of parchment, so lost in concentration he didn’t even notice you were there until the pile of books landed with a soft thump. His head snapped up in surprise. By the light of the small orb bobbing gently above him, you recognized him; Theseus Scamander. You’d seen him in there before, often like you staying here late into the night hidden behind piles of books, before leaving bleary eyed and glasses askew. He was wearing them now. They worked well with his messy dark curls that fell over his forehead, making him look effortlessly cute. Smiling awkwardly You slid into the opposite seat and pulled out your quills and ink, throwing your hair up into a pony tail and trying to look like you were really interested in the first book you pulled in front of you, a dauntingly big and dusty copy of “druids and their droughts.” Easier said than done. Everything you read went in one ear and out the other and you started to long about your warm bed in the common room. In your states of boredom you couldn’t help to Surreptitiously stare at the boy opposite you.

“Is there a reason you’re looking at me?” Theseus asked, not looking up from his writing. You could hear the smile in his voice. laughing lightly to hide the embarrassment you reply “sorry.”

“Don’t be. It’s flattering.” He looks up and smiles before offering out a hand for you to shake, which you did. You couldn’t help but notice the way that his rolled up sleeves showed his slight muscle and his grip made the veins in his arms protrude all the way down to his hands. You could feel the chill of the sliver ring that was on his thumb on your hand, and you almost zoned out looking at his hands as he introduced himself “I’m Theseus.”

“Y/N” you smiled.

“You’re in 6th year, aren’t you?”

“Yea, how did you know that?”

He shrugged “I’ve noticed you here a few times and I heard you mention it.”

“Oh, so you’ve noticed me?” You teased, and was surprised when you saw a funny blush dust his cheekbones.

“You could say that.”

You bent down, hiding your bashful smile as you started to copy your friends notes. You heard him get back to his, and for a while you both worked in silence as the rest of the students stared to dwindle and the night went on. Your eyes started to itch with fatigue and you were never good enough at charms to stop yourself from feeling like this. You almost gave in and went to bed when you heard a soft cough. Theseus was holding his wand; a warm purple liquid was spurting out into a mug he’d conjured.

“Should stop you falling asleep,” he smiled sweetly. Touched, you thank him and take a sip, enjoying the taste of what seemed to be blueberry muffins dancing on your tongue.

“How’s your work going?”

“All done,” he smiled, ruffling his hair causing the curls to bounce around “it’s not my best but I think It’ll be okay. “

“Oh.” You were slightly disappointed that he’d be leaving you alone now-even though you hadn’t spoken much it had been nice to hear the scratching of someone else’s quill and the occasional awkward “sorry” as your hands brushed grabbing books from next door piles.

“What are you working on?”

“Potions,” you groaned. You were really starting hate potions.

“I’ll help,” he offered, pulling his chair around and leaning close to your shoulder to read what you’d written. You tried not to over react to the fact that you could smell the faint left over of his cologne, or the fact that you could see the freckles dotted on his neck. You watched as he picked up a quill and stared to scribble in the margins of your work, adding extras and highlighting parts that you didn’t need.

“It’s good,” he reassured “I did this essay last year and remember what my notes were. You don’t mind, do you?”

“No,” you whispered, before snapping out of your daze and looking away so he wouldn’t see your look of embarrassment. Theseus had seen however, and he couldn’t help but enjoy the fluttering of bashfulness that overcame him. You were cute-even cuter than he’d thought when he’d noticed you these last few months. The fact that somehow, he’d been able to actually talk to you without stuttering with nerves was better than acing any essay.

He opened his mouth to speak when a loud bang made you both jump. The librarian was hovering over you, scowling so deeply her forehead looked like it would crack at any point. “Is that a drink I see Mr Scamander? By BOOKS??”

“I think that’s our cue to leave” Theseus quipped, and together you both packed up your things and dashed out the library to the sound of the librarian’s lecture of “respect” and “gratitude” ringing in your ears. Rounding a corner, you both stopped, catching your breath and stifling chuckles so you weren’t caught by Filch.

“So. Y/N.”

“Theseus.”

“You wouldn’t happen to need help on any other essays, would you?” He grinned.

Your heart started to pound faster, but you kept your voice light as you mused “I have a transfiguration essay due Monday which I haven’t started.”

“Well,” Theseus smiled, leaving a bit closer so his breath tickled lightly against your ear “if you’d like…I could…maybe- “

“I’d love that.”

He beamed widely, ducking his head so once more a loose curl fell into his eyes, and it took everything in you not to to wind a finger around one “Same time same place tomorrow?”

“Looking forward to it,” you smiled, hoisting your bag over your shoulder. “Good night Theseus.”

“Good night Y/N.”

You both paused for a second, then parted ways. And yet Theseus kept turning back until you were swallowed up by the darkness, his smile getting wider and wider as he started to count down the minutes until he could see you again.

You had been downstairs finishing up some of your chores with your father’s creatures when you heard the crash from upstairs. You knew he was home so you decided to let Newt deal with the problem upstairs. You figured it was just one of the Nifflers causing problems. You went back to finish feeding the Diricawls when Bunty stopped by.

“Your father asked for me to send you up to him when you’re finished here,” she said.

“Okay thanks,” you said, looking up from your work and smiling at her.

She nodded at you and waved goodbye, you returning the favor. You quickly finished up and then headed upstairs into the house.

You heard voices and some giggle that didn’t belong to your father. As you reached the living room, you saw your dad talking to two other people.

“Father?” you asked, hoping he could answer some questions about the strangers in your house.

Newt turned around after hearing your voice to look at you, “Oh Y/n,” he said, pulling you to stand next to him. He faced back to the others in the room, “Uh Y/n this is Queenie and Jacob. I met them in New York.

You looked at them and gave them a small wave.

“Oh this is the famous Y/n yo told us about,” the woman, Queenie said, “It’s very nice to finally meet you,” she smiled brightly at you.

“You too,” you mumbled. Like Newt, you were an awkward person, especially around people. You smiled at her again and then looked at Jacob, who did not seem to be acting very normal, “Is he alright?” you asked.

“Oh yes he’s fine,” Queenie responded, helping Jacob stand up straighter. She then turned to your father, “Shall we have dinner?”

~~~~~
You and your father were now sitting across from Jacob and Queenie. You could hardly eat because you were so focused on what Jacob was doing. He could barely eat and Queenie had to do almost everything for him. You could tell your father was trying hard not to notice either but it wasn’t working.
“Tina and I aren’t talking to each other,” Queenie explained.
“Why?” your father asked her, watching her tuck a napkin into Jacob’s shirt and sit in her own seat.
“She found out about Jacob and I,” she said, “And you know the laws. Not allowed to date or marry No-Majis.”
“I always thought that was ridiculous,” you said. It was the first thing you had contributed to the conversation tonight.
“Y/n ,” your father said softly. While he agreed with you, he didn’t need you chastising the person who was giving him the details he wanted on Tina.
“Sorry,” you mumbled, going back to eating your dinner.
“And anyways,” she continued, “She was all in a tizzy because of you.”
“Me?” your father asked, shocked.
“Yes you!” she exclaimed, “It was in Spellbound Newt.”
He looked over at you, confused and hoping you would have an answer for him but you were just as confused as him. You looked over at Queenie and gave her a confused look.
“I brought it for you to see,” she said, using her wand to pull the magazine out of nowhere and flip to a page with your father, your uncle Theseus, and Leta.
“Newt Scamander and fiance Leta Lestrange and brother Theseus with an unknown woman.”
“No that’s wrong,” Newt said quickly, “Theseus is marrying Leta.”
You had to suppress your giggles at the scene unfolding in front of you.
Queenie smiled at the realization that her sister’s crush wasn’t engaged, “Oh.”
It took her another second to realize that it wasn’t necessarily a good thing, “Oh dear.”
“What?” your father asked again.
“Well see, Tina read that and so she started dating someone else,” Queenie said quietly, “He’s an auror. His name is Achilles Tolliver.”
“I’ve heard of Tolliver,” you said, “He was mentioned in one of my classes at Hogwarts.”
Jacob started laughing and wheezing, causing you all to look over at him, “Tolliver?” he asked, in between laughs. He was wheezing so hard, you thought he might stop breathing.
“Are you sure he’s alright?” you asked, repeating your question from earlier.
“Of course he is sweetie,” Queenie said to you, wrapping her arm around Jacob who was already starting to calm down, “Anyways, we’re real excited to be here. It’s a special trip for us.”
She began to pour herself and Jacob a glass of wine, “You see, Jacob and I are getting married!” she exclaimed while giggling.
You looked over to your father, who seemed as surprised as ever by the news. You watched him look over to Jacob as he began to raise his glass.
“I’m marrying Jacob!” he said loudly, throwing the liquid on himself, making you gasp lightly and jump in your seat. Queenie then pulled out her wand, shooting confetti from the end.
Newt looked over to Queenie as she pulled the napkin from Jacob’s shirt and began to dry him off, “What? I have not,” she said.
“Will you stop reading my mind?” your father asked out loud.
You looked at the woman sitting next to you, “You’re a legilimens?” you asked. She nodded while continuing to read your father’s mind.
“That is an outrageous accusation,” she said, wiping off Jacob’s face more, “Look at him. He’s just happy.”
“So then you wouldn’t mind if I,” Your father started, standing up from the table and pulling out his wand, Queenie matching his actions.
“Please don’t,” she said, moving her arm in front of Jacob, who grabbed on to it.
“You’ve got nothing to fear if he wants to marry you,” Newt explained gently, “We can just lift the enchantment and he can tell us himself,” he continued, raising his want up to the other man.
Queenie slowly pulled her arm away from Jacob and he continued to look at her. She backed away from him, causing the man to look at you and your father’s directions. You hadn’t moved from your seat at the table but your father was ready to remove the enchantment Queenie put on him.
“Whatcha doing with that?” Jacob asked, chuckling, “Whatcha doing with that Mr. Scamander.”
Newt flicked his wand, “Surgito,” he said.
Jacob shook as the love enchantment was removed and he was back to normal. He took a deep breath before looking around the room.
“Congratulations on your engagement Jacob,” your father said.
“Wait what?” Jacob asked, clearly not knowing he was engaged. He looked at your father confused before he noticed he was looking up at Queenie, “Oh no,” he said.
You looked to the woman who was already packing up her stuff and heading for the door, too upset to stay and listen to Jacob begging her to. She grabbed her jacket and left the house, letting the door slam shut.
Jacob went after her but stopped and turned to your father, “It was nice seeing you,” he said to Newt. He glanced over at you, not realizing you were there before now, “And it was nice to meet you kid.”
You gave him an awkward smile.
“Also, where am I?” he asked.
“London,” you answered.
“Oh!” Jacob exclaimed, “I always wanted to go here!” he yelled as he left the house, following Queenie.
Once the door was shut, you looked over to your father, “So those are the friends you met in New York?”
He looked over to you, “Yes although, they weren’t that out of sorts when I met them.”
“Interesting,” you replied. You stood up from the table and pushed your chair in, “This has been a very eventful evening so I should be going to bed.”
Before Newt could respond, you were already running upstairs and to your room. He heard your door open and close shut. He sighed and plopped back down in his chair, shaking his head.
You decided to take a sick Bowtruckle to bed with you, without your father knowing.
Word Count: 524
A/N: Uhh this is my first HP fic and my first time writing for Newt! Hope you enjoy! Reader is about 15/16
Earlier in the day, you noticed that Poppy, one of your father’s bowtruckles, wasn’t feeling well. You suspected she had the same cold that Pickett had gotten over a few days ago. You had heard your father say that Pickett just needed body warmth so you decided you would just keep her with you like he had done. Before you got ready for bed, you snuck back downstairs and grabbed her and brought her back up to your room. You got into your pajamas and into bed. Newt was still up but since you were “sleeping” he wouldn’t disturb you.
You had heard your father say that Pickett just needed body warmth so you decided you would just keep her with you like he had done. Before you got ready for bed, you snuck back downstairs and grabbed her and brought her back up to your room. You got into your pajamas and into bed. Newt was still up but since you were “sleeping” he wouldn’t disturb you.
You pulled Poppy out of your pocket and she climbed up your arm and rested on your shoulder. You carefully leaned over to grab the book and your wand resting on your nightstand. You opened up the book to the page you left off on.
“Lumos,” you said, using your wand as a reading light so you could read aloud to Poppy and so you didn’t strain your eyes. You kept your voice quieter so your father wouldn’t hear.
~~~~~

Newt was finally on his way up to bed himself when he passed by your door and noticed a light coming from underneath. It didn’t look like the normal lamp or candle light that you would forget to deal with if you were extremely tired so he knew you were still up.

You heard the footsteps walk by your door and then stop. You knew you were about to be caught reading late and with one of the creatures so you quickly tried to put Poppy away and extinguish your wand before your father came in. The doorknob turned and the door opened before you had a chance.

“What are you doing up?” Newt asked, stepping into the room.

“Reading,” you said, trying to block Poppy from his view.

“I see you have a friend with you,” he said, walking over to the bed and sitting next to you.

You shrugged, “She has a cold,” you explained.

Your father nodded slowly, “So you were keeping her warm right?”

“Yes,” you said, “And I thought I could read out loud to her. She was actually enjoying it.”

Newt looked at the small bowtruckle now trying to hide under your pillow.

“You are too much like me for your own good,” he said, resting his hand on the top of your head.

“Well I am your daughter,” you said back, giving him a cheeky smile.

“Sadly yes,” he joked, ruffling your hair.

“So can she stay with me then?” you asked hopefully.

Your father looked from you to Poppy, and then back to you, “Just for tonight you two,” he said.

“Thank you,” you said, throwing your arms around him and hugging him.

“Just go to bed now it’s late,” he said, kissing the top of your head.

He got up from your bed and walked to the door. He stepped out of your room and then closed the door behind him.

Poppy poked her head out from under your pillow so you tucked her in before cuddling under the blankets yourself. You fell asleep shortly after.
