Luxury Men’s Style
Older and wiser but still relevant and in love
Older Black gay men in long term relationships are rarely covered or seen by main stream media.
In the throws of the pandemic aside from working daily and not at home, I’m still seeing my children and enjoying my marriage
LEGEND.
TRAs believe in the oppression of women, and TRA is supported by the Patriarchy and by the LGBT community. Believe in the evidence of your eyes: men are not our friends and the LGBT community doesn’t deserve our continued support. We don’t have to be friends with our enemies.
when we say trans women are male and trans men are female, we are not saying they deserve to be discriminated against or that their dysphoria doesn’t matter. we are saying biology exists and matters in certain contexts.
when we say we won’t date trans women because we’re lesbians, we are not saying trans women don’t deserve to have happy, fulfilling relationships. we are saying that we are not romantically or sexually attracted to them and so that neither of us would have a happy, fulfilling relationship if we dated.
when we say we are gender critical, we are not saying everyone should be gender-conforming. we are saying the opposite, that men and women should be free to dress and act however they like instead of being forced into certain gender roles based on their sex.
when we say female-only safe spaces are important, we are not saying trans-only or mixed safe spaces aren’t also important. we are saying that based on our biology, women have certain shared experiences and face specific oppression that we deserve to be able to discuss among ourselves.
when we say one thing and you hear another, that isn’t our fault. when you’re ready to listen to what we actually believe or to have a genuine discussion, we’ll still be here.
no offense but can trans men who side with terfs explain to me your reasoning? just because you side with them and start hating trans women doesn’t mean they hate you any less or see you as any more of a man they’re still terfs
bc radfems stand for trans men more than liberal feminists ever will
hi! trans man here who’s been officially labeled a TERF.
in short- sex based oppression is real. i am a female with a uterus and the life experience of other people raising me to be small, not take up space, accommodate others, make myself attractive to men, etc. my greatest fear existing in this world as a trans man is being “clocked” or “found out” that i’m not a cis man and being raped for it and possibly becoming pregnant from that rape (and then maybe not being able to access the reproductive care i need but that comes later). that is my single greatest fear in my day to day life. i have to face that daily. and that is a struggle no trans woman will have to face ever in their lives. this is one example of being oppressed on the basis of my sex. my femalehood. the fact i have a vulva, vagina, and uterus. regardless of how i identify, that does not change the reality of this possible nightmare i face. and this deep rooted fear is something i see others in the radfem community talk about, and haven’t seen in other circles. to be clear. this does not mean i hate or disrespect trans women. but they, as people with testes, penises, and prostates (yes, even when they are removed and reshaped to become something that resembles a vulva/vagina) will NEVER experience that fear.
additionally, there is more community here with more support and more real talk and real action about issues affecting women and girls than i have seen anywhere else in liberal “feminism.” the theory makes sense, and is backed up by real examples. instead of parroting useless phrases like “trans men are men” and “trans women are women” and “gender is a social construct” people in this community put their money where their mouth is and actively work toward abolishing gender and gender stereotypes while also recognizing the unique experience of growing up as gender non conforming but still being socialized one way or the other.
anyone who reads this- (but especially @adequate-britain) let me know if you want to talk more about anything. i barely scratched the surface here about why i became a radically-leaning, gender critical, trans identified female, feminist.
Did you for real just say trans women never have the fear of being raped are you…are you fucking kidding me
no, i said they don’t have to fear getting pregnant from rape.
I don’t tend to agree with radical feminists, but it’s true, trans women do get raped, but since they’re not biological females, they can’t fear to get pregnant from this rape, only a biological female, like a cis woman or a trans man, can fear this, and getting pregnant from rape is already not a cool thing to happen, but getting pregnant as a trans man is most likely terrible because the dysphoria and stuff, as a trans guy, I would probable kill myself if I got pregnant, and I’m not even kidding. I hope I have been clear while explaining my point of view.
very clear! i think you more clearly articulated what i was thinking than i did myself. as a dysphoric female seeking medical transition (most would call me a trans man), that pregnancy would also most likely result in my suicide. the dysphoria alone would be soul-crushing, but compounded with the trauma of rape? that would absolutely lead to me making another attempt on my own life. i think this is a valuable response for @dysphoricbottombinch to read.
Sorry but I fail to see how you answerd the original question. Which was why would a transman(I’m confused and put off by the fact that you keep calling yourself a female also) side with terfs.
A terf is a trans EXCLUSIONARY feminist.
They constantly refer to trans women as rapist, predators and fake women. Not only that but they usually invalidate transmens identities. Several have called me “fujoshi”, told me I fetishized gay men, etc. All you said in your response was that transmen have it harder because we can get pregnant through rape. Okay? What does that have to do with violently hating a group of people and excluding them from your feminism and how does it answer the question of why anyone TRANSman would side with them?
I side with “””TERFs””” because I am female first and foremost. I have two X chromosomes and everything that comes with that. No matter how I identify, nothing will change that. I thought I was alone in finding that fact so central to my identity. But in discovering radical feminists, radically-leaning feminists, and gender critical theory, I found that I was not. There is a lot of support in this community for people with dysphoria, especially biological females like me, and a lot of discussion about real issues affecting female people.
I think that TERF is a ridiculous title. Since most of them are not trans exclusionary. They do include FTM trans people in their feminism. Because feminism to radical feminists is about liberating women, “AFABs” (the problematic nature of this term is another story for another post), biological females, from the patriarchy. I, as a female, as a person with a uterus, need this feminism because I need access to reproductive health, because I was raised with female socialization and I don’t want the same for my nieces, because I am affected by rape all too common in our society under the patriarchy.
I’m very sorry that your interactions with radical feminists have been so regrettable. That is something that, as a community, has room for improvement. But something I feel the need to point out is that that was not the only thing I said in my response. I had another whole paragraph of why I found myself running more and more in radical feminist circles. Maybe you didn’t read it because you were so upset about the first part of my point, but I did address the biggest reason I side with “TERFs.” Anyway, the TLDR version: people in this community put their money where their mouth is and actively work toward abolishing gender and gender stereotypes while also recognizing the unique experience of growing up as gender non conforming but still being socialized one way or the other.
Please read the whole argument next time, please. It’ll save us a whole lot of time.
Cool you’re a terf and support terfs who LiTERLLY hate trans women. Bye!
Literally incapable of listening lol
Greatly explained!
The amount of time used to explain and answer the question in good faith just to be completely fucking ignored.
It wasn’t a waste of time because it may have been of use to those reading the thread who seek enlightenment in good faith. But yeah, there’s no point in talking to TRAs, as they’re just MRAs in disguise.
Same
Be proud of who you are!
