Getting your Joe on; the full story!

Step 1: Visit the San Pedro butcher shop for your imported/specialty meats, cheeses, and fresh mushrooms (misc stuff too, our homemade BBQ sauces, olive oil, etc).

Step 2: Walk 5 min away towards the Santiago dock and hit Geronimo’s farm (not affiliated w/ Joe’s, just the freshest stuff around).

Step 3: Pick your produce needs.

Step 4: Combine into your dish of preference (ours tonight was a bolognese-ish sauce; I say ish due to some lack of traditional ingredients).*

Step 5: Enjoy!

The electricity was out for two hours right on dinner prep time as the sun was disappearing. I am glad of two things, a) I cook with gas, and b) I am married to a photographer with a suite of battery-charged flash units… And there was light, and it was good… (As was dinner).

Did I ever mention that this is my favourite homecooked Sunday brunch? (Yes Mari you did.)

When your cooking looks like the recipe photo. Pretty pleased with tonight’s meal even if I say so myself. Mitzy is staring at me intently, willing me to drop something!

Our favourite drink: frozen hot chocolate! Today we used Coconut Milk Chocolate (organic cacao from Tanzania) as a base… very mild and delicious! It is even better to add a shot of strongly brewed coffee (we use a mixture of light & dark roast to get all the best stuff out of them). Someone is now addicted to this drink… Grads-fed milk & chocolate, so #prometabolic & well-balanced in nutrients .

Last nights Fall Fave dinner. Vegan sausage, apple, celery, onion, and panko stuffed acorn squash with Parmesan on top. Honestly, I look forward to this meal all year. Happy Autumn!
