#learning disabilities
Hey @ adhdblr, how do you handle catching up when you’ve fallen 2000% behind in a course and you can’t understand anything and you’re too embarrassed to tell the teacher that you’re stuck on like the first few lessons when the rest of the class is nearly finished.
This is my first tumblr post in years, but i could use an outlet.
I’m battling this narrative i’ve had of myself for as long as I can remember. I have learning disabilities and My whole life, i have been told i am stupid. I was told i couldn’t join band in school because i wasn’t smart enough to remember the notes. I was told I wasn’t smart enough to do a lot of things, and because I have learning disabilities, i believed them. I was also told i shouldnt go to college because I’m not smart enough.
I went to college anyways, and i am an honor student. I struggle a lot, because I learn differently. But just because i dont learn the same as other people doesnt mean that i am stupid. Now i have to keep reminding myself that everday.
Hey, I don’t know who needs to hear this, but like… it’s okay to be neurodivergent. It’s okay to be autistic, or adhd, or dyslexic or dyscalculic or have down’s syndrome or ANYTHING. It’s okay if you feel like you can’t give everything 100% all the time. It’s okay if you feel tired even when you don’t think it’s justified. It’s okay to stop working and do something you like for a while, it’s okay to step away when you get overwhelmed, it’s okay to ask for help, even if you think it’s something that other people wouldn’t need.
It’s okay to be frustrated, but it’s also okay to be happy and love yourself. It’s okay to be unhappy with your struggles but it’s also okay to enjoy your gifts, your special interests, your hyperfixations, your talents, your stims, all of it. You’re awesome. Don’t let anyone tell you different.

Adhd culture is using an uppercase and lowercase i in the same sentence.
Just two more days! ‘The best of HashtagLD’ will be available online this Friday!
Three More Days!
4 more days!
I’m very excited for wvweyone to see it!
A new proof copy of the book came in last week! Can’t wait to go though it and check it out!
I love books and stories and I made it by goal in 2018 to read 100 books. Which I complete dec 11. This year I plan to read 100 more. Included in my comics, was some of my favourite books I listen to last year.
I don’t care how people read or take in stories. I belive listing to book is reading and I love that I can read on the go. My favourite way to listen to audio books. Is through the Libby app through my local library since I’m on a budget.
I want to break down the idea that people who have Lds can’t be well read or book lovers. Yes, it can be harder abd some of us arn’t and that’s 100% okay.

Hey all!
I’ve been missing this comic lately and had a idea for a new mini series. I want to call it LD life hacks or something like that. There isn’t a lot of information for adults with ld and I’m hoping together we can help change that. Please comment your LD life hack below and I may create it into a comic.
Thanks friends for all your help!
When it returns, it’ll will pass and I’m thankful for a new day.
Hello! A little whole ago a doctoral student name Liz messaged me about her project about a LDs. Unfortunately, I live in Canada and wasn’t able to help. If you are able too please consider taking a few minutes to complete the survey.
thanks!
“Do you have a learning disability? Tell us about your experiences by taking this survey! Participate in a new study about the marginalization of people with learning disabilities. Stigma and stereotypes surrounding learning disabilities continue to affect people’s lives in complex ways, and I am interested in hearing from YOU about how you deal with stigma and identity related to your learning disability. My name is Liz, and I am a doctoral student from identityLORE: the Laboratory for Oppression, Resilience, and Empowerment at Teachers College, Columbia University. I am looking to hear from individuals who are interested in participating in a survey about the life experiences of people with learning disabilities. This survey should only take about 10-15 minutes. Eligibility Criteria: • 18 years old • Diagnosed with a learning disability/disabilities • Live in the U.S. If you meet the above criteria and are interested in participating, please click on the link below to begin the short survey.
Additionally, please consider sharing this survey with anyone you know who may be interested in participating!”
