“I wanted to do ballet as a kid. My parents refused. I cheered briefly in high school. My parents made me quit. I was a high school theatre geek who had potential to study seriously. My parents didn’t support.

I’m still gay. Denying me joy and expression didn’t change that.”

For anyone who has unsupportive family this PRIDEmonth

Congratulations!! I’m your family now. Hydrate, eat your fruits and veggies, and know that I’m proud of you.

“Carolyn Meiller is working on her dissertation project looking at sexual pleasure for curvy, queer, women. […] Because research on curvy, queer, women is limited, and when focuses on sex mostly focuses on the negative aspects of sex, I am hoping to raise the varied experiences curvy, queer, women have with sex and sexual pleasure. I hope this data will be used to create a theory for how identity, societal messages, and other external forces influence the experiences of pleasure for curvy, queer, women. Furthermore, I hope this research will be used to further promote sexual health, justice, and fair treatment for curvy, queer, women in medical and mental health settings. Individuals who participate in interviews will receive $20 to compensate them for their time. I appreciate any help you can provide!”

Friendly reminder, if you see a “straight” couple at pridethis year.

  1. One or both of them might be bi or pan
  2. One or both of them might be trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, genderfluid, asexual, etc.
  3. You cannot tell someone’s gender or sexuality by just looking at them
  4. They could be there as an ally/supporting a friend
  5. Mind you own fucking business

Hi all. A few days ago, my friend, Keyes, was returning home from the hospital after surgery when he was attacked by a group of teens. They started throwing rocks at him, yelling homophobic slurs, and they urinated on his porch. He managed to get away but they’ve continued to pose a threat. Police are aware of what’s going on, and are monitoring the situation, but there’s not much they can do at the moment.

Attacks like this have happened to him before. He’s had such a difficult few months, and was in the process of getting to the bottom of some chronic health issues when this attack happened. The money he was going to use to pay for specialist/doctors’ visits was instead going to be used for new security measures for his house: cameras, an alarm, tamper-proof windows, etc.

I really, really don’t want him to have to choose between his health and his safety, so I’ve started a Go Fund Me to help pay for those security measures he needs, AND hopefully raise some extra funds to pay for future doctor visits. He’s just had one crisis after another, all of which are outside of his control. I love him to pieces, and I know so many other people do, too.

If you can donate or share this post and the Go Fund Me, it would mean the world to me, and I know it would mean the world to him, too. (If we got 2,000 people to donate $1 each, we could get him taken care of!)

Again, I’ll keep everyone posted! More details about exactly what your donations will fund are on the Go Fund Me page.

Thank you in advance for sharing. Nobody should have to feel threatened in their own home simply because of who they are. ❤️

[Shhh, no thoughts. Pirate shirt. Do you see? (laughs) I picked this up at a vintage shop. I said, “This is for me”. It was labeled as “pirate chic”. Honey, this is straight up pirate. Actually there’s not much straight about it. (laughs) Yo ho. The woman behind the cashier said “You must have a lot of water in your chart”. She could see right through me.

Swash… buckle… my butt… cheeks. What. This is me now. Imagine me, on a boat. Merman comes up from the waves, says “You have the best shirt I’ve ever seen”. We kiss a little bit. (giggles) Delightful. Wait I actually have boots from another costume that would be perfect with this.

(boot thump) Present your booty. I’m so sorry, uh I’m very quickly spiraling out of control. (clears throat) Yo ho, what’s up? You come here often? Sorry, sorry.]

Okay people, tomorrow morning, 8 a.m. Santa’s coming to town-

Santa! Oh my god!]

Description: [A stitch with @/jordanoccasionally playing a remix of the song Own Brand Freestyle (feat. Finch Fetti) by FelixThe 1st & Dreya Mac plays while text reads “All I’m saying is, there’s a CERTAIN DEMOGRAPHIC using this sound and trying to pretend that Dreya Mac isn’t already a WLW! yes they are (white hand emoji)”.

Dray Mac: “Okay I didn’t even want to say anything when I first saw this girl’s video on my for you page. But like I was scrolling through the comments on the woman that made the remix.

I was scrolling through the comments and there was just loads of predominantly white people, white gay people saying, "This is the representation we need! This is the wlw representation we need in music!”.

I’m literally gay bro. Like why am I not okay representation? I think we know why. Regardless of whether it’s subconscious or not like, we need to call it what it is. And it’s subconscious racism, even if you don’t know what that is.

Don’t call people haters, no one’s hating. We have to be honest like, most of words she used, are the words I’ve used in the original verse. She just like puts filler words in between. No hate it just wasn’t all that".]
