“Please—” Whumpee breathed, stumbling as Whumper jerked them back. “Please, Whumper, I-I’m dizzy—”
“Aw, but we’ve only just begun, sweet. Do try and keep your feet under you— and out—” Whumper spun them out again.

I made a ballgown for one of my original characters. She’s ready for the celestial masquerade, and for people to keep their distance because no one is getting too close with that skirt (as she intended).
One of her cats is also sneaking into the ball under her skirt.

Ooph, I’ve got so many neat violiny things I’ve wanted to post, but my computer’s graphics card just up and DIED… leaving me with no way to edit video uhuhuhuhu
So for now, here’s pictures from The Ball, which I got to go to with my resident Fancy Dressups Associate @slav_the_human
I’d only ever attended it as a performer before so it was amazing to get to really see all the sights… the vendors, the different rooms, the COSTUMES OH WOW… goblins and ghoulies and fey things slinking out from the dark. Proper Marie Antoinette courtly ladies and people in ridiculous smoking full Warcraft Armor *___*… Many of them lovingly homemade with the utmost care for the most minute details .
I was just a simple flower in this greenhouse of ridiculous exotic costumes, but lemme tell you bout my outfit because I was super pleased with it ~__~ …. The dress I found at a $1 parking lot sale at @jetragvintage … unworn, tags still on, huuuge skirted Dave’s Bridal gown and used for a scavenger hunt where I glued a few hundred black beans to it (If you swipe to the last pic you’ll see what it once was) …. but that’s unwearably too heavy and long for a ball! Also… beans? …so I pinned and tucked and bustled that thing (and it still has all those beans, believe it or not), modded out a simple red necklace with at least 3pds of glass beads XD… and these gorgeous eyelashes I found and am still in love with *____* aahhh
So happy with it, even though it was pretty simple, comparatively ~__~
Also particular love for the Pennywise couple… Their outfits were spot on and they were % O__O … you almost thought they might drag you down into the drainage.
Just one of the beautiful ways I got to see the nerdy, imaginative side of all these people - young and old - shine at LoJ. And that’s what I think made it truly lovely.
