Obsidian is truth-enhancing. A strongly protective stone, it forms a shield against negativity. It absorbs negative energies from the environment. Obsidian draws out mental stress and tension.
Nyx is the Greek Goddess of the night, and the daughter of Chaos. Her birthplace was not on Earth but in Gaia. She is Primordial God. It is said that she was created near the beginning of time. Her home is in the depths of Hades’ underworld. Nyx has a shadowy figure, which makes her the perfect personification of the night.
Nyx is a very unique goddess. She can impact mankind in a good or bad way. Her ability to bring sleep or death unto to the human race. Zeus even feared Nyx because she was older and stronger than him. That speaks volumes of her power. The moonstone is used to honor her to this day. It reflects it’s owner and should be used during the full moon.
Nyx lived in Tartarus. However, Nyx is not exactly the personification of evil in greek mythology. She’s never spoken of having done anything more ‘evil’ than Zeus himself does in any mythology. Yet, many see her as more of a villain figure than she ever appears to be.
Nyx married Erebus, the God of darkness. Nyx and Erebus produced Hemera (Day) and Aither (Light). Hemera is Nyx’s opposite. Nyx brought the dark veil over the night, while Hemera chased the dark mists away each morning. Interestingly so, Nyx was able to create her own dark spirits including Fates, Sleep, Death, Strife, and Pain. More of Nyx’s children include, Geras, Moros, Nemesis, the Keres, and the Oneiroi.
Thor is the norse god of thunder, protector of mankind, killer of giants. The image depicts him in the shape of his famous weapon called Mjolnir. He have chariot pulled by two goats. The rune associated with god Thor is Thurisaz. The mighty god Thor killer of giants and the world serpent Jörmungandr. The two raves are the symbol of his father Odin.

The battle continues, even while still embracing hope and acknowledging grief. A fitting reading for these days of war and the slow but inexorable collapse of climate and civilisation. I have been absent for the last few days as I have been trying to process the emotions and energies stirred up from recents events. When every horror and worry of my cold war childhood have come to the fore once again. With the tumultuous energies of war and deep sorrow of the people swirling around me I finished a piece I have been struggling with for some time, and finally had a very real reason to be birthed. Branwen - Love and Sacrifice Branwen sits under Alder, the warrior tree, the spirit of her giant brother Bran stands behind her, forever guarding and protecting. I have shown her at the end of her story as the goddess of love and sovereignty. In the distance a fire burns at the stones of Bedd Branwen (Branwen’s Grave, found on the isle of Anglesey), white ravens call their lament as starlings flit around her, singing of the suffering of innocents, battles fought and the courage of fallen heroes. As she leans against the shield of the tribes she offers her heart and her life, in honour of the warriors and defenders who died to protect their children, mothers, elders and their land. I struggled with the story of this goddess who suffered so much harm and malice, who experienced the death of a child by the hand of a violent man. But now I have come to an understanding about love, to feel absolute and unconditional love, you need to empathise completely with others. To be a sovereign goddess, a goddess who nourishes her land and it’s people she must not only know of love but also sacrifice… and that sometimes they are one in the same.
