It is often said that the Pit Bull breed/s are often aggressive because of how they are raised, the human is % at fault due to lack of socializing, training and positive impactful experiences.

I agree that socializing, training and foundational positive experiences to someone raising one of these dogs is of utmost importance but there are dogs that genetics plays a role in how they interact with other animals.
.

As previously stated in my past post that “Pointers point, Retrievers retrieve” and this behavior is generally attributed to genetics, it is not hard to believe that a fighting breed like the APBT will inherently want to fight other dogs since it is a huge part of its genetic make up.

Dog fighting is the United States was officially outlawed in 1976, that’s 45 years ago and from someone that’s been in the dog game my whole life I can personally tell you that it has not stopped the many dog men who continue
to roll their dogs. Many Pitties are what dog men consider “scatter breds” a term meaning a dog of unknown origin/lineage but these same dogs can continue to pass along an animal aggressive trait generations to generations later.

What I see is an extremely fit dog, super muscular “cardio conditioned” deep barreled chested ready for whatever he’s being trained/conditioned to do. This dog is not mine and I don’t know who the owner is but I’m sure he’s being conditioned for a purpose and but does not look like this everyday of his life.

On the other hand, most of you reading and seeing this picture for the first time will begin by saying that the dog is too skinny and it’s wrong for him to be running on a treadmill. This is no different from someone (human) competing in a sport getting themselves to the most fit possible to be able to compete and win in their sport.

Swipe and you’ll see a person who too is extremely fit, super muscular, big chest, slim waist and too skinny for some as well. He’s probably training for a show or just trying to get to the slimmest yet most muscular he can possibly be.
.
.
The reality is we don’t seen nothing wrong with the man doing it but when a dog is extremely fit, negative connotations regularly come with it. Share your thoughts with me and let’s discuss if we should condition our dogs to the fittest possible.

As in any industry, there is always competition and its no difference in the dog training community. Even after 30 years training dogs I still gets whiffs of shit talking but I let it roll off.

“We may walk the same path but we got different shoes” so on that note, Big Ups to all the trainers doing it right. Take pride in your craft as there is not many of us doing it and even less doing it right!

Another Bulldog breed has popped up for the masses to gobble up. The Shorty Bull was created by crossing French Bulldog, Staffordshire Bull Terriers and of course English Bulldogs. It’s been around for at least the last couple decades but slowly making lots of noise due to its small stature but high energy and of course it’s uniqueness.

In 2007, Isaac’s Moby Dick of Blue River received his IronDog III title and completed the 12 mile endurance run which is no small feat in itself, something many Bulldog breeds haven’t reached. The Shorty Bulls weigh in at 40 pounds or less and measure 15” or less at the shoulder.

The Catahoula Bulldog originated over 100 years ago in the southern US. The Catahoula Bulldog is created from a direct cross between two specific breeds: the Catahoula Leopard Dog and the American Bulldog, with the selection of the breeding parents being dependent upon desired working ability, rather than appearance. The Catahoula Bulldog is the result of combining two well suited breeds to gain certain characteristics that you may not get by leaving the two separate. They were originally popular in the southern United States for their strong working abilities for tasks including hunting, working stock and protection.

Mojo the pit bull pup amstaff mix up was only 3 months old when his life was already at threat. Suffering from severe demodectic mange, the pooch had only hours to live when he was rescued by Joey Wagner.
One kind human was trying to take care of the pup but Mojo’s case was too severe, so Wagner took him straight to an animal hospital. With extensive care, the pooch got better and adoption requests started coming. However, the severity of his condition made it impossible for ordinary adoptions, and so that’s when Wagner stepped in again.
Being one of the creators of the non-profit Baie Ste Marie Animal Society in Nova Scotia, Wagner decided to give a home to Mojo. When he returned to the animal hospital where he left the pup, Mojo was shy at first but as soon as he recognized his hero, he couldn’t contain his excitement and leaped straight into the man’s arms! 2 years passed since then and Mojo’s fur has never fully returned, however that doesn’t stop him from living a happy life with his big family.
This tiny pup named Mojo was only 3 months old when vets diagnosed that he had only hours to live.
The pup had severe mange but a rescuer Joey Wagner didn’t give up on him.
With extensive care Mojo got better but he couldn’t be adopted because of his illness… that’s when Wagner decided to take him home.
Upon Wagner’s return to the hospital, the pup was so happy to see his hero that he jumped right into his arms and started kissing him.
2 years passed since then and Mojo is all grown up now.
The pittie’s fur has never fully returned, however that doesn’t hold him back.
He lives with a big caring family that loves him to bits!
