#plantparenthood
Bird of paradise & Apple tree Updates
Do you agree? I’m committed to keep posting my plants that are struggling, because that’s how we all grow.
Our youngest and alpha of the group, Mochi.
She is our 1 year old Shiba. When we joined our family, she was definitely into my houseplants and outdoor plants.
I was able to train her not to touch the indoor plants, she quickly noticed the change in my soul, energy and voice
However, she has been dedicated to destroying and eating anything I attempted to plant in my garden bed. Last year I grew a lot of stuff from seed and I was so damn excited and she ate them all, like the whole thing, she would even pull the roots!
Solution: Next month my husband is going to build a wood cover, so it stops her from getting in (Evil laugh).
Have you trained your dogs? Are they interested in your houseplants?
Plants and Pups
The next few posts, I’ll introduce you to my three gorgeous dogs and a plant or two.
This is Kenji, a Chihuahua- Dachshund mix. He loves being close to my plants and under the sun. He also loves to cuddle!
The plants featured:
-Elegia tectorum
-Tibouchina heteromalla (flower)
Do you love when your dogs have a good relationship with your plants?
New Office Shelves! How many plants do you see? Do you recognize the bottle used in my pothos on the top left?
We took the bookshelves out and Jared built new ones on the wall. This opened up the space a lot in this room and gave us more space for books & plants of course.
(Disclosure: Books are to my husband, what plants are to me )
syngonium rayii cutting thats about to bless me with a little baby leaf !! so so so exciting !!
i got a pink splash syngonium cutting a couple of weeks ago and the momma leaf has been slowly yellowing and getting crispy and ive been really worried about it but she just pushed out this little baby ! and theres a big root peeking out of the sphagnum up against the side of the jar so yay ! i cant wait to see what the new leaf looks like !
i got my albo syngonium cutting last september and after pushing out one leaf and dropping the other, it went dormant. but it finally graced me with this little baby !! im so excited to watch it unfurl and to see the variegation on it ! and it has tons of roots but ive been waiting to pot it up until it had more leaves so hopefully now i can pot it and make it super happy :)) !
creeping fig <3
hey tumblr! long time no plant post. just sowed some seeds a few days ago. we’ve got:
- some mexican sunflower seeds i forgot about
- pansies
- dianthus
- lavender
- rosemary
i’ve never grown any of these from seed before, so let’s see how things go!
recently i had a very bad depressive episode that lasted a month. i couldn’t even get up to water my plants. it pained me seeing my more water-sensitive plants (lemon trees, spiderwort, etc.) suffer damage, but many of my succulents thrived in my “absence.” Just look at those leaves!
this watering today was satisfying and rewarding, maybe i will try and use plant-watering as a way to break free from my depression slumps.
purchased this variegated portulacaria afra from home depot today! it was waaaay in the back and super dry. let’s see where this goes!
another good morning.
my pvn is looking a lot better than it was a month or so ago!
happy growth from my messy bear paws
taking care of plants is a fulfilling hobby. it rewards me for being patient and careful and caring.
good morning.
some new additions to the shelf!
while the pink grow light is quite lovely, i will never get over how beautiful and stunning my plants are in the morning sunlight.
currently looking up “how to care for a sunflower”! ft. an ice cold glass of gingerale
