Ford Bronco Shorthorn Prototype, 1973. In order to compete with the Chevrolet Blazer and Jeep Cherokee Ford began work on several Big Bronco Concepts during 1973. The Shorthorn was based on a shortened F-100 chassis which would significantly lower production costs by sharing running gear and body panels with Ford’s truck. The oil crisis of 1973 delayed production and the F-100 based second generation Bronco went on sale in 1978.

Jensen Nova, 1967, by Vignale. Alfredo Vignale’s proposal for a replacement for Jensen’s C-V8 was designed by Giovanni Michelotti using chassis JM/EXP/117, a short wheelbase version of the Interceptor platform. It was powered by a Chrysler 383 V8 engine with a Chrysler 4-speed manual gearbox. Originally presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1967, the 2-seat Nova was finished in dark green with a beige and black interior and a “wrap-around” rear hatch window. After the show Vignale stripped the car down, changed the rear window and lights, resprayed it off-white cream and re-trimmed the interior in red leather. The now white Nova was presented at the Turin Motor show. However Jensen had already decided to go with Carrozzeria Touring’s proposal for the 4-seat Interceptor and the Nova went no further

Gustav Klutsis. Projects series for stands and propaganda facilities. 1922

Constructivism flows over the process from image to structure and from spatial structures to its production.

Through Suprematism created by Malevich to abstract spatial constructions made by Lissitzky with his ‘prouns’, Gustav Klutsis went beyond and started his own experiments of abstract spatial structures and traslate them into real objects through dynamic transformations. These artifacts are in effect,  something like materialized 'prouns’ in specific objects.

The Prototypes above were part of the project series for stands and propaganda facilities to  mark the fifth anniversary of the October Revolution and the Fourth Congress of the Komintérn in 1922.

Alison and Peter Smithson : The House Of The Future

There is already someone who envisioned how the future home looked like throughout the middle Fifties, a prototype was designed by well-known modernist architects Alison and Peter Smithson. Although it was never intended for actual production but for theoretical discussion.

The House of the Future was presented on Daily Mail Ideal Home Exhibition, held in the Olympia Exhibition Centre from March 6-31 1956. The drawings above shows how has been conceived this prototype for the exhibition. A gem for researchers and architecture enthusiasts.

Designed around a courtyard garden that supplied natural lighting and private outdoor space, there were few windows on the exterior walls allowing the houses to be placed directly side-by-side. For viewing purposes, there was no roof but an elevated platform so exhibition goers could look inside the house from above. Appliances and work areas were hidden from view within cubicles allowing for a large open space in which to live.

In the late years it was documented by the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) with more curational material related entitled “ What the Future Looked Like” ,there you’ll find “The Sound of the Future” text by Sabine von Fischer and Beatriz Colomina Lecture “Unbreathed Air“. Pompidou Centre has become an iconic building and its guiding principles a basis for new cultural buildings in the last decades.

Its architectural concept has been adapted in other centres and cultural institutions around the world. So you’ll find a node of cultural centres beyond France linked up on a network sharing information and culture throughout activities and exhibits interacting with the people.

As their authors described according with the goals from the centre: “ The design expresses the belief that buildings should be able to change to allow people the freedom to adjust their environment as they need”.

here is another proposal for the  competition of Beabourg Centre +
