As reader Anthony Price noted after we observed some great whiskey in the US House of Cards, the original was no slouch. From a certain brand’s Wikipedia:

Much was made of Mad Men's take on Valentine’s Day, where most ended up as sad as they are in their lives as a whole. But there was a quiet love still burning and properly celebrated—these sad people and their booze. Pete cuts into a previously unseen bottle of Cutty 12, Don wakes up to ol’ reliable Canadian Club (and even uses it to sort of mark time). Happy Valentine’s Day indeed.
Sundance and Glenlivet paired up for a series of short documentaries… about advice and not necessarily whiskey. Nevertheless, no one will complain about some Bryan Cranston or Eric Ripert facetime.

Ingredients:
1.5oz Blended Scotch
.5oz Lemon Juice
.5oz Honey
.5oz Ginger Syrup
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake, strain over ice into an Islay Scotch-rinsed glass, and garnish with candied ginger.
