I don’t play Magic: the Gathering. I remember liking the art though from back in the 90’s when I was little. Apparently, the collectable card game is still popular and has been taken over by SJWs. Now said SJWs are trying to end the career of one of the most famous artists, Teresa Nielsen, who has worked on the game for decades, just because she liked some conservative tweets and Twitter SJWs found out about it. Making it even more absurd, Teresa is a lesbian and has been married to the same woman for 25 years. She was a Mormon who was given a really hard time about coming out and was completely ostracized from her community over it as she explained in her letter addressing the “controversy.”

I’m sure a lot of people can relate to that experience and know how much it sucks. Yet, the fact she lived through that wasn’t enough for SJWs nor was her letter. The the fact that she liked tweets by Fox News, Hannity, James O'Keefe, Alex Jones, etc. was enough for these people to demand that she be removed from Magic: the Gathering and have her fantasy art career destroyed. You got that right. It wasn’t for anything she said herself. It was for liking tweets. That’s it. Liking tweets is now apparently enough to end someone’s job and livelihood over.
I just want to remind people that SJWs are not your allies, friends or anything else. They don’t want more rights for LGBT people, which would obviously include the rights of free expression and the ability to form your own thoughts. They want loyal pets and mind slaves to advance their own evangelical religion which is about fraudulent moral grandstanding and attacking, ostracizing, and destroying other people so they can feel high off of how badly the bullied someone else. If you’re a minority and move off the plantation of their ideology, you’re now just as bad as the KKK and need to be burned at the stake. Even apparently watching something as mainstream as Fox News is evidence that you are a fascist as bad as the Nazis to these people now. They are bigots who call other people bigots and revel in the hypocrisy of it all like pigs rolling around in mud.
Never let SJWs into your fandoms either. This is the perfect example. No living person can meet their ever changing standards that keep sliding down the slippery slope. They are in a never ending purity spiral, and like Don Quixote, will invent enemies when they run out of them to attack, even among people who you would assume would be naturally aligned with them. Not only will they drive out most of the long time fans of the fandoms they get into, but they will try to attack and drive out the people who created the fandom in the first place like Teresa Nielsen. The only thing you should do when SJWs start trying to exert political correctness on your hobbies is to tell them no and drive them out instead. It’s the only way to protect your fandom. Many people, sadly, are naive regarding SJWs and what they do and would rather not buck their ultra liberal orthodoxy because of the moral hectoring. Then they act surprised when their fandoms have been lain to waste despite being warned. Don’t be these people.
The quicker people realize this, the better. There is no liberalism on the left anymore.
I will never stop thinking it’s extremely fucked up that creators will get less credit and more shit, for trying to be progressive and inclusive but falling short in some way, than creators who don’t try at all.
And they will never not ‘fall short’ because no creation will accurately reflect the experience and worldview of every member of a marginalized group that’s depicted. Marginalized people are also individuals with wildly different lives from one another, after all.
But of course we don’t tear apart creations that only have white cis straight able characters. We don’t even notice that they’re not even bothering to try … and when we do, too many of us shrug and think it’s too much work to try to make them change.
Instead we do what everyone else already does: pick on the people who are trying because we know they care.
(But when we’re all doing that, with the huge amount of access that modern social media gives us to creators, it’s clear that pressure is nigh unbearable.)

Death of the Author means letting their work speak for itself instead of insisting the creator’s intent is the only reading worth anything. It doesn’t mean the creator is expendable, and that’s not how it’s supposed to be used in any kind of proper critique. If someone IS using Death of the Author to excuse shitting on a creator, then they’re a piece of shit who needs to grow up tbfh.
Death of the Author does exactly that. It’s stealing people’s work from them so it can be critiqued in absurd ways that have nothing to do with their intent or even often the words on the page so Marxists in academia can push their propagandizing on their students in exchange for money stolen form them for a product that has no value in the career marketplace. It’s applying communists’ disrespect for the individual on fiction, and it’s disgusting. The fact anyone would defend it is cringe-inducing and perhaps evidence you are still a neophyte that is naive to the true nature of academia.
Creators are not gods who get to override other people, I’m sorry to inform you. Different people are going to have different readings of the same piece of fiction. Even on a basic fandom level, it’s how we get various groups of people thinking completely different ships are going to be canon (or not) even though they all consumed the same piece of media.
This isn’t about liberal or conservative “propaganda”, it’s basic facts about how media and media consumption works. It’s how literary analysis works. Surely you’ve seen posts that went something like this:
Someone: the curtains are blue to demonstrate the character’s depression.
The author: I just chose blue because I liked the color and so does the character, it’s their room ffs.
And the thing is, both can be correct. Just because two people see a work of fiction differently doesn’t mean one is right and one is wrong. They’re just two views on the same work. Death of the Author just allows for more interpretations than just the creator’s vision. Bc creators are not gods and their words are not laws of nature.
It’s not stealing a piece of work away from an author when they’re sharing it with the world by publishing it. Someone interpreting a work differently than the author intended isn’t stealing work away from them either. If the idea that someone might interpret something differently than you, then I sincerely hope you’re not a creator of any media.

Hell yes, they are. They’re the gods of their stories. That’s the entire point of being an author, to be in control of your own fictional world. The fact you think the reader and the author are on the same level is some new level of brainwashing. Really, pull your head out of that academic fog and reassess this. Your view point is beyond entitled, and the point of OP has completely flown over your head.

Academia is filled to the brim with Marxists who want to create a world in which individual people are not allowed to own property. Incorrect. The author is correct. The reader is inventing meaning that doesn’t exist in the first place. While they are allowed to do that, it doesn’t CHANGE the original work. Only the author can do that. The fact you think such an illogical conclusion is actually logical again points back to the fact you haven’t spent enough time in the real world post-English department to deprogram yourself from these absurd academic concepts. Jesus, it took me only a few months to realize this stuff was garbage when I left grad school.

The fact academics invented a device to allow themselves to create more worthless critique and discourse doesn’t mean the idea isn’t completely idiotic. Of course these entitled, self-important academics want to be able to invent things they can talk about after the author is dead. It gives them the ability to keep getting that big fat paycheck from much poorer students who are actually naive enough to think these people are authorities on something when in actuality they’re pulling it all out of their butts. Just because I say Moby Dick is actually about modern identity politics and the whale represents white privilege doesn’t make it true, but through your own argument that interpretation matters as much as Melville’s. Give me a break.

It’s stealing when they take their work away from them, completely change the meaning, twist their words into something that was never intended or even implied and then tell others that it’s some kind of truth regarding the work. It’s definitely a form of theft.

I am, and I doubt anyone with your mindset has the ability to create since you don’t believe in the ability of the author to create meaning for their own words. And while we’re hoping for things as a way of throwing thinly veiled insults, I hope you never become a parent because your disrespect for the individual and what the individual can accomplish independently would be disastrous in regards to raising another human being that can actually achieve success in life.

What is a Woman?
Definitions exist for a reason. It’s not transphobic to know the difference between men, women, & trans people(IE: Transmen & Transwomen). It has a lot to do with biology.
For example, men are adult biological males. Women are adult biological females. Transmen are biological females who transitioned into becoming men. Transwomen are biological males who transitioned into becoming women.
Transwomen typically still has a penis, most likely due to not being able to afford the surgery to remove the penis. They might also not be able to afford breast implants. Hence the crossdressing & make-up. Transwomen can still impregnate women or transmen as long as they still have their penis.
Transmen will always have a vagina. But they might never be able to afford to remove their breast due to the high cost of surgery. Transmen can get pregnant.
But of course there are individuals who are wealthy enough to afford these surgeries such as Blaire White & Caitlyn Jenner.
So now that we’ve established who trans people are, let’s talk about the non-transgender people. So let’s start with men. Men have penises & can impregnate women or transmen. Women have vaginas, breasts & can get pregnant.
With that said, I think I’ve made a fair & accurate description of the differences between men, women & trans people. It all comes down to biological differences on whether or not they’ve transition via surgery or cross dressing.
I think it’s important to acknowledge these differences. It doesn’t invalidate anyone, it’s simply an acknowlegement of the differences between men, women & trans.
Now for left-leaning trans individuals, don’t expect conservatives to want a relationship with you. Instead stick to liberals or leftists, they’re more than willing to have a relationship with you. For right-leaning trans individuals, I don’t have to tell you anything because you have a better understanding than Leftists or Liberals do on these issues.
Hopefully there’s some sane left-leaning trans individuals who will agree or understand this post. Someone with an open mind who hasn’t been brainwashed into hating people who disagree with them politically.
Hate is a huge problem & it doesn’t solve anything. We must reject hate & try to listen to different opinions or viewpoints. So that we can have a better understanding of each other. Peace be with you.

Finally finished watching The Batman in full thanks to HBO Max & it’s still garbage. This is how I rank the Batman movies. Would have included Batman V Superman & Zack Snyder’s Justice League in the S Tier, but they weren’t solo Batman movies.
The reason I put The Batman in shit tier is because of the fact that it’s 1) Woke. 2) Too long. 3) Too many miscasts. 4) Boring just like Matt Reeves previous movies. 5) Catwoman & The Riddler are the cringiest parts about this movie in both their looks & the way these characters were portrayed. 6) This movie tries way too hard to be dark & edgy, yet it forgets to be entertaining.
The only plus side I can give this movie is Batman’s voice, but that’s not saying much.
