Odysseus: Of course *leaves*
Patroclus, leaning over Achilles’ coffin: Now listen, I know you’re not dead.
Achilles: Yeah no shit

Achilles: You’re a piece of shit!
Agamemnon: No, you’re a piece of shit!
Odysseus(being the smart ass he is): As far as I’m concerned, you’re BOTH pieces of shit. Yeah, I can prove it mathematically. Actually, let me grab my whiteboard. This has been a long time coming anyway.
Hector: I’ll be honest, I feel like you don’t like me
Achilles: I thought I had made this clear after the 12th time I tried to kill you
so i am probably the last person on earth to read this book but it was everything i expected and more
“A scream comes, tearing its way out. And then another, and another.”
“Philtatos,” Achilles replied, sharply. Most beloved.”
“This, I say. This and this. The way his hair looked in summer sun. His face when he ran. His eyes, solemn as an owl at lessons. This and this and this. So many moments of happiness, crowding forward.”
( Madeline Miller-The Song of Achilles)
I’ve recently read the book “ The Song of Achilles” and Believe me guys, it was ages I wasn’t so taken by a book. Even if I already knew the myth of Achilles and Patroclus and their tragic story, I couldn’t imagine how much this book would break my heart. If you haven’t done it yet, I really suggest reading it; not only because the story itself is so cool ( all the epic poems of the Iliad and the Odyssey are amazing after all :D ), but it is so magnificent written!
