lvernon20:

From my father making fun of me for being “chubby” when I was small to hating the way my thighs rubbed together when I walked, I hated entering public spaces. I used to do this thing where I’d tip-toe up the stairs, open the door really, really slowly then creep into the scene so that no one would see me.

My anxiety stemmed from not wanting to be noticed. Why? In my head, there was nothing to see. I wasn’t special. I wasn’t cute or smart. I couldn’t fit into those tiny frayed denim shorts from Abercrombie like all the other girls. I was just a blob in men’s clothing because Mom ain’t have the money or resources to find clothes for her obese daughter.

I was always obsessed with models on the catwalk and watched America’s Next Top Model religiously. I’d put on an old pair of heels and in my pajamas, I’d put my hands on my fat waist and strut. Click. Click. Click. The thick heels sounded on Mom’s wooden floor. I’d be on my own personal runway. Some sort of star. I’d go in the bathroom, shut the door, and look in the mirror. I’d work my angles just like Tyra suggested to the size 4 models. I’d smile and tilt my head and try to elongate my fat neck. Not knowing that one day this fat neck and thighs that still rub together would be sort of a big deal.

I look at fear differently. It was all in my head. I was so afraid of what other people thought of my round body that I made myself sick. Now, there’s no fear when I step into a room. I burst in that bitch. I smile, arch my back, and strut, a party, Wal-Mart. My runway ain’t in Mom’s house anymore in a little girls head. My runway IS the entire world.

Kind of iconic if you ask me

I’m back, i was at the hospital for some time (not ed related), and extremely happy cause i’ve lost 15 kg since last year

Spooky vibes for a Monday morning (which I am thoroughly unprepared for). Everything is from Taking Shape in size XL/24. I’m still loving this jumpsuit trend and this one is super comfortable.

Going for a “shut up and dance with me” vibe this Friday, except my dress isn’t backless and my sneaks are brand new. The dress is Taking Shape in size XL, the shrug is Autograph in size XL and the sneakers are from Volley’s Pride range.

Another easy look from Taking Shape in size 24. It’s loose, it’s comfy and the colour and print are very on trend. Also pockets!

What’s better than a wrap dress? A mock wrap dress! All the curves and swerves of a wrap dress with none of the stress of a tie coming undone and you unintentionally flashing your coworkers.

I think everyone should have a wrap dress somewhere in their closet. I think they look great on all body types and are a simple, low effort option for work. This little number is from Taking Shape in size 24.

It’s far too early. I am on my way to Mackay (yay ) to participate in an exercise. I’m missing my vocal lesson, pottery class and a hair appointment that took me SIX MONTHS to get. I am not a happy camper.

However I am wearing my fave math/english tshirt by @nathanwpyle. It’s an if not now Venn

I am LIVING for plus size jumpsuits I love this number from Taking Shape in size 24. It’s loose, cool and comfortable and can be styled up or down. It’s such a fun piece to wear. The mesh top is from BeMe in size XL and of course topped off with my Hinako butterfly shoes.

Brights today! I’m feeling really gloomy today so I thought maybe if I dress brightly I’ll feel a bit brighter. The pants are from Taking Shape in size 24 and the top is from BeMe (before they were bought out and only produce crap now) in size XL. I love the slashed sleeves, perfect for feeling just a bit cooler in this warm weather.

Love the colours and the pleating in this top. I bought it during a black out, but black out me has good taste. The shirt is from My Size in size XL, with my have palazzo pants from Love Yours.

Dressing for the office not the weather outside. So after months of the aircon going in and out it is now working too well and I’m a little chilly. Today I have a tunic from My Size in size XL, leggings from Taking Shape in size XLT (loving the tall leggings) and some bonus adorable nudibranch earrings.

A spring fling today (even though it is the middle of summer). Bit the dress and the cover up are from Taking Shape in size XL. I don’t normally wear pastels or florals but I actually love the print on this dress and the cut and fabric are lovely.

Happy Valentine’s/Galentine’s day to all my beautiful followers. You are all special, wonderful, gorgeous people who deserve love and happiness.

So today is going to be 38°C (about 100F) where I am but I’m also doing a presentation at work today. So I have on my lovely light palazzo trousers from Love Yours in size 26/28, a cool bamboo cami in XL and a thin but professional looking jacket in XL. The cami, jacket and love heart are all from Taking Shape.

Loving this bright, cool and comfortable dress from Virtuelle in size XL. The fibre is viscose, which has just a little stretch. One of the best features is the crush design. No ironing, yay! The only thing in unfair about is the sleeve length, I wish they were like 10cm longer.

I love this dress for when I can’t decide between vertical and horizontal stripes, so I wear both. It’s figure hugging in the right way and a tasteful length for work. The dress is from Taking Shape in size XL.

This is supposed to be a dress, oh the joys of being a tall super fat! Teamed with leggings and Mary Janes it does make a cool and classic look for work. The top/dress is from Taking Shape size XL. I love the print because it has a great tactile quality (cue me telling everyone to touch me ).

Some fake snake for a fake Monday. I’m still undecided on this top from Taking Shape. I love the print, but the cut is a little odd. I think it would probably look better with a skirt, but I haven’t found the right skirt yet.

Some spots to brighten up a Thursday. This, I don’t know what to call it, cape? Cover up? whatever it is it’s from Taking Shape. It’s made of lovely, light cotton that just floats as I walk. It makes for a cool and comfortable outfit in this heat and humidity (my sympathies to anyone living where it’s negative degrees right now).

Rocking a variation on the animal print tend with abstract snake print pants in size 24 from Taking Shape. They are light and comfortable and yes, they have pockets. I normally don’t wear such light colours, especially on my bottom half because “omg it’ll make you look fatter”. But I’m all about giving the middle finger to “fat clothing rules” now.

Oh yay Monday at least I can inject some fun into my Monday outfit, if not into the day. Today’s theme is butterflies I adore this print. The camisole and cover up are both from BeMe in size XL and 26. My gorgeous new shoes, also in butterfly print are Hinako in size 13.

A playful mix of prints today. I’m pretty cautious when it comes to mixing prints, but using a monochrome palette makes it less daunting. I just wish the striped camisole was a little shorter and more fitted, I think that would improve the overall silhouette. I’d say I need to learn to sew, but I don’t think I need another expensive hobby. All pieces are from Taking Shape in XL/24T (love those tall pants).
