cake for my Dad’s birthday. He collects knives, including the ones he’s inherited grom his father before him. As a kid growing up, a safe bet for a gift for dad was always a knife or something related to hunting; I’m sure the knives us kids got him were both of embarrassingly cheap quality, and some of his favourite ones simply because they came from us. He’s my protector, and I’m so thankful for him. The look of shock and joy on his face when he saw this cake was so worth the five hours it took to make it, lol.
This is both the first cake I’ve ever made that was shaped, and the first cake I’ve ever made useing fondant! I’m sure it’s not as professional as all that, but I’m pretty dang proud of how it turned out!
