I’m taking this latest wolf baby to my printer today to get scanned. (This was a WIP shot but I finished him up this weekend.) The drawing’s an inch or two larger than mine can handle.
Then I’m framing it for entry into a juried exhibit at Apartment Earth Gallery:)

This is my latest work on the runic illustration series. This is my interpretation of Isa I associate her with the goddess Skadi. I see her inside big ice block ,or maybe in frozen river waiting to be awake . Or maybe waiting stand still hunting.

In Central European folklore, Krampus is a horned, anthropomorphic figure described as “half-goat, half-demon”, who, during the Christmas season, punishes children who have misbehaved. This contrasts with Saint Nicholas, who rewards the well-behaved with gifts. Krampus is one of the companions of Saint Nicholas in several regions including Austria, Bavaria, Croatia, Hungary, Northern Italy including South Tyrol and the Trentino, as well as the Czech Republic, and Slovenia. The origin of the figure is unclear; some folklorists and anthropologists have postulated it as having pre-Christian origins.

Balder, Old Norse Baldr, in Norse mythology, the son of the chief god Odin and his wife Frigg. Beautiful and just, he was the favourite of the gods. Most legends about him concern his death. Icelandic stories tell how the gods amused themselves by throwing objects at him, knowing that he was immune from harm. The blind god Höd, deceived by the evil Loki, killed Balder by hurling mistletoe, the only thing that could hurt him. After Balder’s funeral, the giantess Thökk, probably Loki in disguise, refused to weep the tears that would release Balder from death.
