CAM:
Paid a second visit to Albert Reyes to pick up a spooky print on orange paper with its center picturing a two story home haunted by an entity of long reach. The artist gave insight to the piece in which reflects how homes & items, such as mirrors, can hold residual energies from previous owners that can affect the living. Then, Reyes kindly offered us an invitation to tour this year’s version of his Haunted House installation that us surprised at all the twists & turns.
(Wall length, expressionist piece in acrylic paint located inside of installation.)
When we asked about public art to view in his neighborhood, Albert answered that its uncommon in that area. Instead he provided another solution: famous horror home film locations. Reyes shared that a Rob Zombie “Halloween” film location & the original 1978 “Halloween” movie home of Michael Myers were both close by. Due to weather conditions, we were not able to view sites but was intrigued to find out that the Myers home is open for reservations as a ScarBnB as listed by the proprietor, SugarMynt Gallery.
