MY ARTWORK
New Bigcartel store!
I recently moved my shop from Etsy so now you can find old and new prints&original illustrations there. And to celebrate I’ll add an extra sticker pack and mini print with the first 5 orders!
I’m so excited to reveal this Zodiac Wheel illustration that I’ve been working on in the last few months!! Each zodiac sign was individually drawn with ink on paper, then brought together digitally in this final version.
This is also the largest print size I have yet at 50x70 cm. You can find it in my Bigcartel store.
Blood Moon
Red ink on Canson archival paper
21x29.7 cm
Another fun experiment i did with red inks.
The appearance of a blood moon had spiritual significance in many ancient cultures. They could represent a death omen, a threat to the king (Mesopotamia), an imbalance between good and evil forces (Hindu), or even a time to express gratitude for the abundant harvest (Celtic).
This piece is currently featured in Dusk Collective’s online art group show ‘Color’. If you’re interested in purchasing it you can find it in my shop. You should also check out the awesome artwork of the other artists.
What’s your favorite type of vampire?
Illustration is done with red and black ink pens.
Raven girl is evolving. She grew arms and legs but she’s still scared to leave the nest she made for herself.
A spontaneous idea i had that turned into this small illustration. I’d title it ‘Secrets Well Kept’. What does it convey for you?
EgoDeath
Pen, ink, white gel pen on paper
Hi there, i took a short break from posting but i’m back to show you some new art. In the last 2 months, I wanted to take my time and dip my toes into new mediums like oil painting and 2D animation. I also just finished updating my website and it looks pretty neat. Check it out: christineviolet.com. I’m also in the process of moving my shop from Etsy since i’m not happy with this platform anymore. That’s why you might see prints and originals disappearing slowly from there. Will keep you posted!
LunaSol
Ink on paper
The illustration is based on the concept of alchemical marriage between the Sun and the Moon. The Sun represents the higher self or true will and the Moon represents the ‘lower’ self or ego, the self that experiences the physical reality.
ProtectorsII
Pen and ink on paper
The illustration is inspired by Tibetan shamanism beliefs (Bon-po) centered around the primitive animal masks and the Mahakala worn during ceremonial dances. The masks often embody wrathful-looking figures to drive fear into the forces of evil (or ego) and ‘scare off’ the distractions encountered in meditation.
Although they seem fierce and scary on the outside, they’re meant to aid and protect the individual on its path to spiritual transformation.
Meet Me in the Astral
Pen and ink on paper
Happy Taurus season!
I’m a bit late, i know. Taurus is my rising sign. How about you?
This illustration is part of my zodiac wheel. You can find it in my shop here: https://christineviolet.bigcartel.com/
Protectors
Pen and ink on paper
I’m returning to Tibetan mythology these days, starting with the image of the dragon or druk. They are considered protectors whose thunderous sound awakens us from delusion and false perceptions. They are part of the Four Dignities - mythical representations of the enlightened person’s attributes.
The original b&w ink illustrations from my Pagan series that I’ve done in 2020. The originals are available in my shop with free shipping.
The Red Death
