#trans positivity
i wish i could kiss every trans person on the forehead
i love trans people. i think everyone should be trans
Some of the alternative terms are gender neutral while others are specific to nonbinary people.
Remember: you should talk to your nonbinary friends to discuss what terms they are personally comfortable with. Don’t assume that enben will always use these terms.
“queer is a slur still used against many LGBT people” and “queer is an empowering identity to many LGBT people” are two statements that can and should coexist
sending love to all the non-dysphoric trans ppl out there i love you! you’re valid! and transness isn’t measured by your suffering— it’s okay to define your transness from euphoria
it’s okay if the phrase “born this way” doesn’t resonate with you. it doesn’t have to. if you’re trans and you were your assigned gender at some point, if your orientation is related to trauma, if you just don’t care if you were born this way or not… etc. etc. that’s all fine and good. we all have different stories and different ways of identifying ourselves. your queerness is just as meaningful and important and true as those who were born this way.
oh, hi sweetheart! what’s up? you have something to tell me? alright, I’m all ears!
okay, I think I understand - you want to go by a different name, right? what name should I use?
wow! I love that name, it suits you perfectly! and you picked it yourself? that’s so awesome, you’re so creative! can you tell me one more thing, baby? what pronouns do you use?
okay, I see! thank you for telling me. I love you no matter what and I’m so proud of you - you’re my perfect, lovely, thoughtful angel and I think your name is amazing!
your body is your body, and if you don’t love it now, that’s ok.
you do what you need to love your body. exercise or don’t, stare in mirrors or don’t. shave or don’t. just unapologetically work towards loving yourself.
and if you want to get surgeries done, for whatever reason, then who cares. it’s your body, and if it takes a surgery to love it, then that’s ok.
if you can get to the point where you can be happy with your body, that’s all that matters.
for some people it’ll only take a few months, other it can take years. your body is only holding you, it’s not your life force. you are so much more than skin and bones, and once you realize that, then it’s a lot easier to love your body, to love yourself.
