Mise en Place is the perfect example of why Crow’s work is so fun to read. They do an incredible job of characterizations and nail both Harry and Draco’s hesitancy. Crow always writes situations that feel so real and plausible, which allows their characters come to life.
Whether you prefer cilantro or parsley (I like both, by the way) you’ll love Mise en Place as much as I did. Make your favorite comfort food, then enjoy this lovely and warm comfort read that will make your heart feel full like it’s just eaten a warm, buttery, and crisp cottage pie. And when you’re done with this fic, you should definitely check out his other stuff for dessert!

When the Librarian reached out to see if I’d want to collaborate on a rec, I was so floored and so excited. I love seeing this blog around on my dash, spreading joy through recs and asks, and the weekly Happy Hour never fails to share brilliant pieces by beloved authors. Reccers are at the heart of community building, sharing resources and love for each other — and the Librarian does exactly that.
Today, I’ve brought a fic that is a few months old, by the brilliant @softlystarstruck When I was thinking about which fic to pick (and there are so, so many that are dear to my heart), I thought about the kinds of fics that tend to get a little less love. The Librarian has been working on some Historical AU recs, so… why don’t we go to space?
Every detail — from Starship Hedwig to Crown Prince Draco of Scorpius — fuses the world we know with this fantastical adventure in space, weaving these characters seamlessly into a believable new universe. This fic takes every Han Solo-Firefly-Trek universe fantasy and fuses it into a delicious, confident Harry. You won’t want to miss him.
“Crown prince or no, he could kill me and take my ship the second my back is turned. Though he did manage to fuck up piloting a Silver Swan, so that’s doubtful. He couldn’t handle a fraction of Hedwig. “You have to come to the cockpit with me though.”
The style is unique and sharp-witted.
Bee writes beautiful, warm love stories, with an eye for tenderness. In this fic, they manage that gentleness with a snappy edge through alternating Harry and Draco first person POVs. Each character is brilliantly developed, with subtle differences in their voices that make each shine in their own right.
“Yeah, I’m keeping him.
He just looks so lost, sitting in the chair with his fingers twisting around themselves. It’s obvious that he usually keeps his guard up– it comes across on his sharp tongue– but his facade keeps splintering and his panic spills through.
“There’s a one million unit reward on your head,” I say, and his body goes entirely still. “If you’re returned to Scorpius alive and unharmed.”
Yeah, it’s hot as hell.
There’s no other way to put it, this fic scorches! The dynamic here is hot, the way that they negotiate during sex feels sexy and charged with attraction, and really, you can’t blame Draco when Harry looks and acts like an even hotter equivalent to Han Solo.
“Poured out underneath my thighs, Draco looks like starlight made human. His pink lips are parted, and his breathing is shallow as he looks up at me. Stars, I’m going to make this good for him.”

I went to the JCU Alumni Happy Hour la while ago at Market Garden Brewery where they were serving some pretty delicious looking pizza. Here is a close-up of the Garlic parmigiano!
Ontem à noite, degustando uma cerveja com dois amigos em uma ótima cervejaria aqui na minha cidade, surgiu na mesa uma daquelas perguntas que a gente só faz depois de um certo teor alcóolico ter animado os espíritos: “O que você preferem? Casar com uma mulher linda e ser corno ou com uma mulher bonita mas não tanto e ter a certeza de que ela nunca vai te trair?” perguntou um deles. Quase cuspi a cerveja de volta! Sério?! Me oferecem o Paraíso e o Purgatório e ainda me pedem para escolher? Mas esses dois amigos, apesar de muito queridos, não sabem das minhas preferências e eu não podia ser tão entusiasmado na minha resposta [embora, caso fossem liberais, seriam belos candidatos a comedores da minha futura amada]. Eu já ensaiava a resposta quando meu outro amigo se adiantou: “Prefiro dividir caviar a comer chuchu sozinho” Eu ri. Não colocaria nesses termos, mas concordei colocando o braço por sobre o ombro dele: “Não somos egoístas, não é camarada?”
Meus amigos reclamam que eu nunca saio com eles para um happy hour, mas não tenho a menor vontade de me demorar longe de casa sabendo que minha amada me espera nua em nossa cama, com os braços cheios de carinho e o corpo lambuzado de saliva, suor e esperma contando a estória do sexo que acabou de fezer com outro homem. My friend Sunshine helped me pick out the dress and the hoots when we went shopping on Sunday, and suggested that yellow tights would work with it. I like the combination of bright colors.
