Before your sexy time you can do a bath ritual for passion and s*x using herbs/salts/crystals that correspond. You can put on charmed lotion and sensually rub it in while thinking of your desired intent. You can also have candles and a silk robe to put on afterwards, whatever gets you in the mood!
Let’s say you want that new car that you’ve been saving up for. When you’re doing your work on whatever genital you have every so often think of having that goal. On your climax focus all your effort and energy into feeling like you got that car, how it would feel driving it, how it would smell, how you would use it. Ride our your wave and pamper yourself a little afterwards. Don’t forget to use the restroom to prevent infections!
Trust that whatever your intent is will come(with mundane work of course). S*x magic can be one of the most powerful tools in your toolbox especially your climax. Don’t let all that unbridled energy and emotion go to waste.
You can even save your semen for love or sex magic, or use as a taglock!
Even before spirituality came to play a significant role in my life I knew that sex had a spiritual quality to it - that it was something transformative, that it was transcendental… that it felt sacred to me. Okay, so I really, really liked sex, but I always felt there was something more - something most people weren’t talking about, something that perhaps many people couldn’t reach, and that many who could didn’t have a vocabulary to express.
First I should say spirituality is pretty damn important to me - but by that I don’t mean religion, I just mean the personal journey towards the spiritual. My practice involves meditation and ritual, not churches and priests.
As I learned about spirituality I naturally discovered that pretty much every significant spiritual tradition had a sexual part to it or a sexual off-shoot. The trouble is the sex they were talking about wasn’t the sex that I was familiar with. Sitting and meditating on my penis for four hours wasn’t my idea of fun. Stationery sex without an orgasm? Not my kind of thing. The horrendous ‘white light/white robes’ thing that the New Age movement seemed to be doing to sex? Dear god no.
My sex was always passionate, emotional, rough, kinky… and for preference filthy. And yet for all that, perhaps because of all that, sacred.
I found I had to develop my own vocabulary for the sacred sexual if it was going to talk about what I was experiencing. But with time I found it did begin to make sense as I saw parallels between what I was experiencing and what the other spiritual practitioners tried to express.
Pretty much every significant spiritual tradition has within it the idea of transcending the self. This is often expressed as 'killing the personality’ or 'breaking down the ego’ or 'leaving behind yourself’ but I think these terms are misleading. You don’t get rid of the damn thing, you just realise that it, this thing that you think you are, isn’t who you really are. The early stages of this are pretty simple - you start to notice how many stories you tell yourself about who you are - “I’m a person who does X”, “I hate all Y”, “I always Z”. When you notice them you can learn to stop telling the stories and just… be… be in whatever way you wish to be in whatever time you find yourself in.
Then you notice how much of who you think you are isn’t really you anyway - it’s your parents words, or your societies norms, or your friends opinions of you. So you can maybe put some of that down too. But then you notice you’ve got all these structures, beliefs and habits that are harder to shift - expectation, pride, morality, rules, prejudice, entitlement. Stuff that’s deep within your sense of who you are and how you function in the world. Shifting that’s a bugger. You aren’t actually trying to remove it completely - you want to remain functional - but you are trying to realise at a fundamental level (beyond simply thinking it) that it doesn’t matter, and it isn’t you and that the self is pretty much a very persistent illusion.
It turns out sex can be really good for this. And funnily enough, dirty sex is the best kind.
Put simply, getting incredibly horny, turned on, passionate, and overwhelmed with lust is amazingly good at breaking down your ego barriers. Things you thought were 'wrong’ suddenly become erotic, things that you told yourself you’d never do suddenly become appealing - rules get broken, desires get expanded, you feel things you never thought you’d feel… and suddenly you find yourself wondering if you really know who you are after all. And from that comes wisdom - wisdom from deep insight.
How much more effective, then, is D/s. D/s is all about breaking the 'rules’ of conventional behavior - from “don’t hit girls” to “all people are equal and worthy of respect.” The degradation that a sub submits to strips away their sense of self - takes away things they thought were essential to being them (pride, power, control, dignity, respect, freedom from pain). A Dom takes them down to something primal, something without all of the baggage that society tells us is essential. And to do so the Dom must go on a journey as well, breaking barriers of right and wrong, breaking through his own fear of being the bad guy, drinking in pleasure from things that you are just not meant to do…
In my experience after a good session subs are euphoric, joyful. They often describe themselves as feeling lighter, that they can cope with anything, that troubles and problems have just faded away. This is very similar to what is reported by people who have been doing intense regular meditation, or who have been involved in prolonged magickal work. They have, for a while, shed much of the baggage that is their ego - they’ve realised that they just don’t need all that crap in their heads that most of the time is telling them that they must do X, or must only be seen as Y. They can achieve a profound state of self acceptance where they can just allow things to be… they don’t have to fight or change anything, because they can accept and cope with everything. It’s a spiritual state.
There’s more to it that this of course, much more… and maybe I’ll return to this topic some other time if anyone is interested (don’t worry, back to the pretty pictures in a minute). But I was right - sex, filthy sex included, is spiritual. It is transformative and it is transcendental. It quite literally allows us to transcend our every-day ego baggage, and in that moment we have the opportunity to transform who we are, how we think, how we exist in the world. We realise we are not, exactly, who and what we think we are. And that realisation is the foundation of all true spiritual paths.
Nearly endless in its beautiful varieties, the orchid flower almost seems to float on air as it invites one to contemplate its beauty. There are over 30,000 different varieties of wild orchids growing across this Earth, from the jungles of the equator to the arctic tundra and everywhere in-between! That’s not even counting over 200,000 hybridized varieties that florists have bred into existence. Orchids come in so many different varieties which love so many different growing conditions that, no matter where your garden, you’re sure to find a variety that’s right for you!

Most varieties of orchids grow in jungle conditions, clinging to tree bark with thick white roots that are adept at drawing out moisture and nutrients. Because these varieties like to grow high in the tree tops, they’re ravenous for intense sunlight and thrive on 12-hour days — close to midsummer conditions in temperate regions. Many varieties of orchids are difficult to grow, to be sure; even professional growers can struggle to bring them to bloom! But even if your thumb isn’t quite green enough to get these fussy flowers to take to your garden, there are dozens of natural varieties and hundreds of hybridized species who are perfectly content to grow on a windowsill or under lights.
If you want to give your orchid the best possible chance of growing, do thorough research into which varieties are the best fit for your region, and purchase the most mature plant you can: younger plants are very difficult to please. If possible, buy it while it’s in bloom — that way you’ll immediately know what you’re striving for! While there are simply too many varieties of orchid to give general growing instructions for all of them, a look at the plant’s physical characteristics should give some clues. Plants with few or leathery leaves will likely prefer high-light environments, while plants with soft, limp leaves are probably light-sensitive and should not be placed in sunny south-facing windows.
In addition to one variety of orchid being our source for vanilla, the tuberous root of the plant is filled with a highly-nutritious and starchy substance, which is famous for a sweetish taste and somewhat unpleasant smell. This substance, known as bassorin, can be used to replace starch as a reserve material, or to make a drink known as salep — named after an Arabic word for orchid — which was sold in stalls from the Middle East to the streets of London until being supplanted by coffee. In addition to this drink’s purported rejuvenating properties (being lauded as a strengthening and demulcent or anti-inflammatory agent), Chinese medicine has recorded uses for orchids dating back over 3,000 years, noting varieties of the Dendrobium genus of orchids as one of nine ‘faery herbs’ said to be a gift from heaven. Different types of orchids are used in remedies for a huge variety of purposes, ranging from improving memory to treating rheumatism to even easing the symptoms of tuberculosis! Many cultures, including Greece and China, use the plant as an aphrodisiac, and orchid fragrance is also used in perfume and aromatherapy.
In terms of magick, old texts tell of witches using orchid tubers in their philters, the fresh tuber being given to promote true love whilst the withered one checks wrongful passions. Culpepper refers to orchids as being under “the dominion of Venus,” and tells us that, among other things, when “being bruised and applied to the place” they cure the King’s Evil. Orchids also correspond to beauty and elegance, expressing uniqueness, ecstasy, spiritual intuition, and Goddess energy. Some varieties of orchids are also used in creating visions, entering trance-states, and inducing psychic powers.
Confucius wrote many poems on the orchid’s beauty, and even based some of his teachings on this delicate flower! He wrote, “The orchids grow in the woods and they let out their fragrance even if there is no one around to appreciate it. Likewise, men of noble character will not let poverty deter their will to be guided by high principles and morals.” Whether you ascribe to the teachings of Confucius or not, the many multitudes of orchid varieties have a great deal to give us on all levels of our life: whether contemplating them philosophically, utilizing their medicinal properties, or simply savoring their beauty, orchids are a treasure to be cherished.
Different colors of orchid have different meanings, but generally speaking, in flower language it means “Love, Beauty, and Refinement.”

Students must be 13+ years of age and have parental permission. This academy operates under the jurisdiction of United States law, which states that in order for a child to be taught anything regarding the concept of religion they must have parental consent. By checking the box on the application which states that you qualify under both of those conditions, you are stating that you take full responsibility that these are true statements.
We are currently in the middle of semester one! Semester two begins October 15th, with acceptances going out every Friday!
Qualifications: Prospective Mentors preferably have two or more years experience in their field of study, be 16 years of age or older, and must undergo training and pass with 80% or higher. Once a mentor has signed on with Acturian Academy, the contract being signed holds them to a standard of teaching which states that they must have a semester or more of their class ready before their class will be listed as available to take.
