The presence of digital markets has changed the relationship between the user and companies; the engagement of behavior and values is today more sophisticated because of the introduction of variable in the UX. Too many companies still struggle understanding how to connect with their customers.
It’s important to makes sure companies understand their target audience quite well in order to assume the product/service meets the user expectation. Many startups fail in their early years because stakeholders do no focus on the user side. Creating a product comes with a complex structure of passages and too often companies loose sight of their target audience.
This happens when the business persists with conservative marketing strategies that belong to the analog era and don’t consent innovation to happen. Designers begun to break away from the traditional doctrine of the marketing department to seek new philosophies, simply because there’s much more than just using analytical data and projections to address the user’s identity.
The best vivid example of disrupting the traditional scheme of strategic thinking can be attributed when Apple introduced theiPhone. A company that had nothing to do with the telecom field managed to swipe clean a market, introducing something they never worked on before. Then we all know what happened to the conservative approach on UX design where the Blackberry almost disappeared from the market because the managing team couldn’t understand the new approach to touch screens.
This is what companies can learn from designers: move away from your comfort zone and embrace changes to stay competitive, even if crazy ideas are thrown on the table; they are worthy to be considered. Consumer behavior changes very fast through external factors that cannot be controlled by companies, so it’s essential stakeholders follow a progressive UX design that has the ability to truly connect with the user in order to cater to its needs. Without that companies are just building products and services just for themselves.
Well, I never planned on spending #NewYearseve in the #hospital with #pneumonia just finishing more tests. However, I’m OK with it because I know it’s where I need to be and the hospital is at full capacity and it’s not even midnight yet, so it’s a little crazy around here interesting from a #psychologyperspective, overwhelming from a #spiritualperspective, because there’s a lot of #spiritactivity with those still here who aren’t even aware. I also see it like this New Year’s eve night in the hospital will be the ending point of a difficult year and starting tomorrow things only keep moving forward and getting better. While I’ve been too sick to work while in the hospital I’m doing lots of observations and have different projects that I think will be incredible if executed properly still taking lots of notes and thinking #creatively which I love, In between vomiting and coughing of course, but it’s the ultimate release to bring about rejuvenation for 2019. #Lastnight was so difficult I coughed most of the night my stomach was upset from the #antibiotics and I was so tired from #coughing it took me 40 minutes just to get out of my bed to go to the bathroom. I was feeling so sad because I really didn’t feel like I should be out of the #hospital although, #singingworshipsongs in my head and #praying a lot I got through it and was able to go to sleep at 5:30 this morning. Today I opened some mail and to my surprise there was all this beautiful @kyliecosmetics #makeup sent from two #clients for Christmas that I have read for many years but I’ve never actually met in person. I’m so touched by the #generosity and #kindness and #thoughtfulness. They said that They wanted me to have new makeup to start year off right ,I also got a beautiful gift card from another client that I also have never met in person but I’ve known for many years and a whole collection of beautiful greeting cards because I mentioned that Christmas cards make me happy and I still haven’t figured out who sent the greeting cards . “PROBLEMATIC” CLIENTS
The other day I heard about “problematic” clients. Categories of problematic clients were: angry, talkative, and “knows everything”.
It made me feel sad. And pardon my French these three categories are just cringe.
There is a deep need for some emotion behind every “problematic” client. A person might talk to you too much because he/she has a need to be heard, to be seen, to be valued, and appreciated. Or even to connect with you. Someone who seems to know everything might have a need to show he/she is important, to feel control and power. Someone angry might be very sad, and needs to express this sadness somehow. I’m not trying to justify nasty behaviors here, I’m giving a different perspective.
Do you know that for instance anger is a secondary emotion? Anger often comes secondary to other kinds of hurt, like anxiety, sadness, embarrassment and shame. And here is when the protective mechanism switches on - anger is more intense and “socially acceptable” emotion, then bursting out with tears of sadness.
I feel it’s more important to connect and try to understand each other rather than categorizing someone, especially nowadays when all of us are on the edge of emotional survival through these tough times.
