“Asteroid,” poem assembled from quotations from Wikipedia articles
She was empty space. She was a screw up. She had
a cheap
consciousness: surfacing, falling, no way to
focus, there out in the
emptiness, filled with nothing but herself and uneasy sleep.
I tried to make her love me,
but her mouth was
hard
bones.
Yet I loved her,
and I wanted her to love me back.
But everyday
she gave me rocks and stone.
I love her still.
I think of all the things
I have allowed to slip through my fingers:
my mother,
God,
that mouth full of blood.

From the Wikipedia page on loons
- Spotting a ticket inspector is easy. They look just like you. Starting July 2015, TFL will exclusively employ human clones on all London Underground, Overground, and bus lines.
- Mind the gap. When you gaze into the gap, the gap gazes also into you.
- BUY YOUR VOICE. Pay monthly or pay as you go. For a limited time only, get an additional accent FREE when you sign a 24-month contract.
- Meet a skin-changer.
- Are you beach body ready? Don’t go to the beach this summer without preparing a body. The thing in the water demands a sacrifice.
- Avoid the horror. (You cannot avoid the horror.)
