Cleansing:Cleansing is removing any negative or unwanted energy You can cleanse your altar, your tools, a room, your house, your self, etc.
Some ways to cleanse are burning incense, sprinkling salt around a room, burying the object in the ground, hold it under running water, visualize all the negative energy leaving the space/object, ring bells, soak it in saltwater, banish negative energy by sweeping with a besom, run it over a candle flame, bury it in a bowl of salt, and leave it in the sunlight for a few minutes. Be careful though. Don’t put toxic crystals in water, bury objects safely, and be careful with fire (obviously).
Charging:Charging is empowering something with energy or intent.
Some ways to charge are putting the object/tool in the sun/moon, put it next to a living plant/herb and let the object absorb some of its energy, put a crystal on the object, use your own or the earth’s energy, or run it over a candle flame.
Charging
Charging is a technique used to implement your own energy into an object. This allows you to program crystals, create charms, or even fill whole rooms full of the energy you choose.
When thinking of charging in a mundane sense, you think of charging up your phone or computer, this is a perfect analogy of what I’m talking about. You charge your phone battery, just like you can charge things like crystals.
Almost anything can be charged, things like stones/crystals, doors, CARS, etc. The possibilities are endless.
First thing you need to know before charging is what kind of energy you’re working with and what you’re using it for.
Now we decided where we are storing the energy in.
Sit down comfortably, holding the item you wish to store the energy in. Focus that energy you want to store, take a deep breath, feel it building within you. When the energy peaks, send it rushing through your arms and into your object.
Cleansing
Cleansing is the act of removing unwanted/negative energy from a person, place, or thing. Cleansing is a gentler form of removal than banishing. Instead of forcefully banishing an entity/influences, you are simply removing the bonds at which hold the energy onto said person, place, or thing.
This process is useful in making sure you, your living space, and objects are clear of energy that could disturb/harm you. Cleansing is typically used for creating a blank slate on whatever you choose to cleanse, in order to fuse your own energy onto it.
First, you need to decide what needs to be cleansed, then you pick what method you are going to use to cleanse. There are many methods, including..
Smoke cleanse
Water
Salt/Earth
Moonlight
Sunlight
Sound
Crystals
Intuition
Once you’ve chosen your method of cleansing, it’s time to actually do it. Remember to use your intention when cleansing, otherwise, you’re just wafting smoke over a candle.
After cleansing, it is best to charge your new intent into whatever it is you cleansed.
My recommendation for cleansing your home/space is once every week, just to be sure you don’t have any stagnant energy lingering.
You should always cleanse new tools when you get them, as you don’t know who touched and imprinted their energy on the item last.
!!White sage is considered a closed practice unless you are indigenous, please remember that!!
Warding
Warding is a form of magick intended to protect a person, place, or thing from negative/parasitic energies/entities. Wards are like energy and will fade over time.
There are 3 types of wards-
Trapping- Trapping negative entities.
Circumventing- Diverting negative entities.
Filtering- Allowing positive energy in while keeping negative energy out.
It is important to note to cleanse before warding, otherwise you will be keeping anything negative within your space.
Some examples of wards-
Sigils
Energy
Spirits
Poppets
Satchels
Enchanted items
Crystals/Crystal grids
Botanicals
Types of water
Types of dirt
Types of salt
Some things baby witches should know
Scrolling through witchtok -ew- I’ve come across a ton of misinformation, even some one here. So I’ve decided to put together a small list of things I feel like baby witches should know.
1. Not all spells need to be in a jar
2. Deities don’t talk to you like normal people do
3. You don’t have to be wiccan to be a witch
3. You don’t need to be religious to be a witch
4. Not every herb is safe to burn
5. Most essential oils cannot go on your skin
6. Some herbs/teas can have side effects
7. Do not try to cleanse your outdoor space regularly. Say youre doing a one time spell, yeah sure but nature doesnt need to be cleansed
8. DO NOT PUT SALT ON THE GROUND, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GODS.
9. There are other pantheons beside the Greek.
10. The Greek gods are nothing like Percy jackson
11. Shifting is NOT apart of witchcraft
12. Your pet does not automatically become your familiar
13. Entity work/Deity work requires at least 2 years of practice and research IMO
14. Keeping a BOS/Grimoire is not needed but will help you…A LOT
15. You do not need to attend every holiday or full moon
16. CLEANSE THE LID TO YOUR JAR ASWELL AS THE JAR
Herbal Protection Jar
So I recently posted a beginner banishment spell, and so to go along side that I am posting an herbal protection jar.
For this spell, you’ll need…
-Jar
-Incense
-Candle
-Lighter
-Mugwort
-Bay leaf
-Cloves
-Black peppercorn
-Rosemary
-Sea salt
-Black salt
Cast a magick circle, light your incense and cleanse yourself, your space and all your materials. Make sure to cleanse the lid of the jar as well. Meditate with your herbs, focusing your intention into each one. Then one by one start adding the herbs and salts while saying your intent with each one. Light your candle, close your jar and seal with the hot wax. Focus again on your intent, this time on the whole jar. Visualize yourself being protected. Take down your circle and place your jar some place where it will always be close to you. Maybe on a night stand by your bed.
Blessed Be
Add white, pink, and red rose petals, honeysuckle blossoms and rose water to bath filled with water. Substitute hydrosols with fresh flowers if necessary. (optional esstial oils to add: lavender, rosemary, chamomile, and jasmine)
Place a rose quartz large enough to not go down the drain in the bath too.
Soak in the scented bath.
Find yourself in the stillness, calmness, quiet & peacful place in your bath amongst the loving frangrace of rose petals, flowers, rose water and essential oils. Place your focus now on the person who broke your heart or the memory that broke your heart… if you begin to cry, allow the tears to flow down your cheek and into the bath water. Say the persons name out loud and command that all the power and sweetness you gave to this person be given back to you.
Example : Gregorio, you broke my heart, and now I command the universe to give back to me, all the power, sweetness and love I ever gave to you. Gregorio, I gave you my heart becuase I found you worthy, I now command the universe to give me back my heart because I have realized the only person worthy of holding and protecting my heart is ME. I love me. I love me so much. I forgive myself for allowing for someone outside of me to take my power and break my heart. My power, my sweetness, my love, my heart is flowing back to me now.
After you have cried, yelled, said your affrimations, played with your roses, and anything else you felt called to do in your bath, take the rose quartz and place it on your heart… allow for all the emotions and tears that filled the bathwater to now drain out… as it drains out chant the words “I RELEASE YOU NOW WITH UNCONDITIONAL LOVE”
Following the bath, carry the rose quartz with you. Sleep with it under your pillow until you don’t need it any more.
