there’s nothing wrong with depending on other people, but do not become completely dependent on them. go to them for help, for advice, for friendship, for fun, for occasional favors, but do not rely on them to the point that you can’t do things without them. practice independence.

don’t be in a hurry to fall in love. just because you connect on a physical level doesn’t mean you do on an emotional level. don’t force yourself to be with somebody you aren’t sure you like because you don’t want to be alone. don’t settle. it isn’t fair to you or them. wait for the relationship that comes naturally. it will make you feel the most alive.

time does not attach you to people. they are not your obligation just because you’ve known them for so long. if they are mean to you, you don’t have to keep them around. if they treat you poorly, you are allowed to cut them off. if they hurt you, you are allowed to leave.

Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, some people will never appreciate you the way you want them to and they will never see how much you’re worth. No matter how much you want them to, no matter how much you wish they did, no matter how much you do for them and how much you want them to love you, how much you want them to be good to you.. They just won’t. You can try everything but you can’t force someone to be the right person.
