Rhubarb Raspberry crostata: a combination of recipes
Apologies for the crappy photo. Normally I get my husband to snap the shots, but I was in a hurry. It looked much better IRL I tend to record any Ina Garten shows that come up on the Food Network and occasionally Martha Stewart on PBS. It’s a habit. I love their recipes, but sometimes I like to change things up even as I try them out. For this Crostata, I used a combination of two recipes:…
Acai Berry:
Nourishment, happiness, energizing, motivation, productivity, healing, and blissfulness.
Blackberry:
Banishment, abundance, affluence, healing, dispelling, warding, prosperity, and protection.
Blueberry:
Gratitude, tranquility, harmonization, contentment, understanding, balancing, and healthiness.
Boysenberry:
Growth, ambition, accomplishment, inspiration, rebirth, hopefulness, and transformation.
Cloudberry:
Illusions, nourishment, glamours, healthiness, energizing, distortion, and energy manipulation.
Cranberry:
Healthiness, romance, elegance, purification, healing, cleansing, majesty, and sensuality.
Elderberry:
Blessings, fortification, invocation, healing, summoning, warding, conjuration, and protection.
Goji Berry:
Longevity, growth, motivation, vitality, ambition, expansion, lasting life, and motivation.
Gooseberry:
Happiness, enlightenment, joyfulness, sacredness, delightfulness, transformation, and spirituality.
Huckleberry:
Protection, wealth, defense, insightfulness, fortune, warding, affluence, and enlightenment.
Lingonberry:
Creation, fortune, beauty, wealthiness, good luck, attraction, prosperity, and potential.
Mulberry:
Calculation, abundance, intelligence, prosperity, patience, introspection, strategy, and good wealth.
Raspberry:
Warding, romance, kindness, protection, admiration, fortitude, compassion, and true love.
Salmonberry:
Compassion, courage, kindness, romance, bravery, generosity, insight, and awareness.
Strawberry:
Romance, purification, magnificence, kindness, cleansing, elegance, and sensuality.

All the leaves that I collected last fall and I piled up for me to shred, sat in a section of our backyard due to me traveling many times to check on my parents. Over a week ago I got many raspberry bare roots … sooo, I started thinking
Let me check under them leaves … so many earthworms and wonderful leaf compost forming that I decided to make a raspberry patch right there added compost and planted them raspberry roots! 80 of them and I still have many more.

Our local garden group is having a plant sale on May 14 and asked me if I had anything to sell. Well, I sure have lots of raspberry bare roots. I’m not a good seller, I always like giving stuff away I want to sell them cheap, big box stores have them for $12 each , let’s not mention the local nurseries. So today potted some, depending how big they get by then thinking $4-$5 each, is that too much?

Hubby and I went on a road-trip to Indiana. Came across a post an apple orchard placed about bare root raspberry plants. I inquired and was able to get them at a wonderful price. I better get to planting, cause there is 170+ plants! I paid few cents per plant look at them roots !
