LIVE

In ‘Barbie The Princess And The Pauper’ Wolfie is an allegory for not fitting into the gender binary.

So I was watching 'Barbie the Princess and the Pauper’ cuz memories and I’m a nerd THE REASONS NOT IMPORTANT

Anyway, the song 'The cats meow’ suddenly had a completely new meaning to me.

If you’ve never watched the movie, or can’t remember, the protagonist’s cat Wolfie doesn’t meow, he barks.

When Wolfie starts trying to meow instead of bark, Erica (Barbie) notices.

“I can see it when you’re feeling low

You can’t hide that from me

You’re no status quo calico

So why keep trying to be?”

This childrens movie shows a character who was born a cat (feminine) but has always found it more natural to bark like a dog (masculine). Not only is his friend supportive of that, she loves it.

“if you bark

Celebrate it

Make your mark

Serenade it

Noah’s ark

Shoulda had a cat like you.

And if what you are

Is a strange you

Doesn’t mean

You should change you

Only means

You should change your point of view.”

It’s a message so needed in today’s society and it was made in 2004!? And directed at young children!? It’s so amazing and I’m so proud. This honestly made me cry.

“There is not

One hair on you

That I would rearrange

I love you

The way you are

And that will never change

That will never change.”

You are different. And it’s amazing. Your imperfect and that’s perfect. Be yourself, you are always worthy of unconditional love.

It’s such a powerful message and I’ve heard noone talking about it?

More thoughts on Moon Knight’s Ammit

After Moon Knight episode 5, I decided to do a lot more thinking about how Ammit judges who lives and who dies. And from doing some light research into Egyptian mythos and re-watching some of the scenes from older episodes, I think I know how she works now.

Ammit, like the Ennead in episode 3, don’t view immoral thoughts/actions as sin. In their twisted godly way of thinking, the Egyptian Gods in the MCU view mental illness as “sin”.

Nothing in the mythos of Anubis’ scales says that those sentenced to damnation are “evil”, just that they are “impure” and “untruthful”, which allows for creative liberties to be taken on what that means. So Marc Spector was judged because he wasn’t being honest with himself (and Steven) about his past trauma.

Because we know Marc has done things that are morally wrong and still got judged worthy, likely because he acknowledged his trauma and now has the capacity to move on and better himself. When Ammit judges someone without Anubis and Taweret’s jurisdiction, their soul plummets straight into the Duat’s sands without a chance to go on the journey of healing that Marc and Steven got to go on.

So when Ammit sentenced that old lady to death in episode 1, the old lady might have been telling the truth about never being bad. She might even have lived the rest of her life without doing anything bad either. But the old lady probably had some undiagnosed mental illness, even a minor one, that Ammit saw as “unstable” and a liability, so she killed the old lady. Ammit’s just been lying to Harrow that she’s killing sinners instead of the mentally ill. (This is how she isn’t clairvoyant and isn’t the same as the TVA)

To simplify things, we can look at the three factions of gods and how they view mental illness through Marc and Steven’s journey:

Ammit and Harrow: People with mental illness are a liability, they are “chaos”. They must be eliminated before they have the chance to harm others, even if they haven’t done anything wrong yet.

Khonshu: People are good until they commit a sin. Then they are “bad”, and must be killed asap with no second chances.

Taweret: People can be both good and bad throughout their lives, but everyone deserves a chance at self-improvement. The only real sin is refusing to better yourself.

It will be interesting to see if Marc and his alter(s) ever rebel against Khonshu because of this if Moon Knight returns after season 1!

I can’t believe my 2.5 years of investing in EvilSword theories paid off, bay-bee!!!

my thoughts on cruella’s prospective development/plot for cruella (2021) sequel

so i’m basing things on the statement above from the director and everything i’ve learned and analyzed from the first film, of course. as we know, cruella is self-destructive to a detrimental level. that is, she will do things she knows cause her great harm and it all stems from a self-hatred she’s yet to escape from, even upon the finding that the baroness murdered her mother. as we know, the voiceover takes place as cruella stands over estella’s “grave” aka after every event in the film besides her and the gang driving to hell hall. in this voiceover, she still discusses her mother’s death as partially attributable to her, unfortunately. “let’s skip past the part where i killed her.” though it had once seemed like cruella had gotten past that blame when she’s shown saying “it wasn’t my fault,” the chronology attests that a bit of regression has taken place and that’s understandable given the sheer level of trauma she had to endure.

by the film’s conclusion, cruella is not stable whatsoever as she’s still grappling with the weight of what coming into her true self means- as we saw in the monologue, she faces inner turmoil between embracing herself and how she perceives that to be letting down her mother- and not everyone around her is exactly the most supportive given their continual discussion over “missing estella.” point being, this instability only deepens the chasm in which self-loathing can accrue for her.

as i’ve been over in other posts, cruella’s intentional creation of an evil public persona is both her most notable advantage in that she has effectively created a shield between her and the rest of the world that she is weary of but it’s also her most notable disadvantage because the creation of this persona will lead to a massive amount of hatred from the public. by crafting a (FALSE) narrative tor herself that has the masses believing she brutally murdered and skinned three dogs, she is bound to be despised because to the outside world, that is the “real her.” only she and those close to her know that she’d never do such a thing and that the persona is all a facade: antithetical to who she actually is as a person. essentially, she wants a way to protect herself from a society that’s been cruel to her for all of her life but the way she chooses to do this is one that she knows will bring her immense and likely unbearable amounts of pain.

cruella isn’t going to want to stop at the tale of her skinning three dogs. knowing she has an ever expanding platform, she’ll amplify the narrative and this is where an homage to the original 101 dalmatians could come in. essentially, i think she, with anita’s help, will plant a story in the press that supposedly identifies her as the killer of that many puppies/dogs and it will somehow tie into a fashion show of some sort. after all, i reckon that as the empress of what’s emerging to be the world’s most prominent fashion house, she’ll want the house of de vil to make an unforgettable debut and an apparent murderous origin from a whole line of clothing- or perhaps one massive statement piece- would do just that along with her other momentous goal to have the world hate and fear her in equal proportion such that no one can get close enough to hurt her again. with nearly unlimited access to resources now given her acquired wealth, she’ll be able to keep upping the antics, making her persona more and more formidable.

in reality, the so-called “murdered” dogs will be rescued by her and heaven knows there’s enough room to tend to a large amount of dogs in her mansion. anyway, the point is that the amount of hatred she’ll be mailed with from what could very well be millions of people if the story goes global, as i have no doubt would happen with that kind of thing, will destroy her confidence and self-esteem. it’ll make life miserable for her. yes, she knows that isn’t who she is, but to be treated LIKE she’s a heartless killer by everyone and to have to play that role to the media perpetually…i couldn’t even begin to imagine the kind of toll it would take on her, but i know it would be agonizing.

in a way, this would devastatingly further subvert her entire journey thus far, which has already been alluded to with her directly stating she’s begun to play a role for the media. “but people do need a villain to believe in and i’m happy to fit the bill.” she’s gone from having to hide under a feigned submissive personality trait- who she was as estella- to a brief time period where she could be fully herself to the outside world without being notoriously known as a killer and then directly back to having to project a fake persona, only this time, it isn’t a demure woman. it’s that of an absolute monster who murdered dogs.

the increasing trauma will likely become more and more debilitating to her as she won’t be able to even show her face anywhere without being met with loathing and contempt by all who recognize what i call the anti-cruella aka the fake version of her she’s procured to keep people away. as such, in her efforts to fend off the outside world, that world will swallow her whole with its resentment of “her” due to the method of defense through deception she utilized. therefore, as the director said, she’d be destroyed as in utterly damaged from worsening mental illnesses and in pain and this destruction will have aborned from within herself as she is the engineer of the anti-cruella persona.

all i can say is they better give my baby the happiness she deserves by the end meaning that they should write her to ultimately feel as though she doesn’t have to hide behind any personas anymore and can simply be herself: cruella de vil. a woman who isn’t always some ball of sunshine on the outside but is and has ALWAYS been an incredible person. someone who fights for justice unapologetically. a brilliant, creative woman who has and will continue to take the fashion world by storm. i want her to feel comfortable not having to put on a show of “sweetness” or one of a deplorable being to live in this society. her apprehension about this does NOT make her a bad person. she’s very rightfully afraid to be who she is because she knows society is cruel (“hello, cruel world”) and will misjudge her without even attempting to understand her but creating these personas are all just self-destructive measures that will do her more harm than good.

as a bit of a side note, the baroness could play into my aforementioned thoughts on cruella shedding her personas. cruella would of course need to show the public that the dogs are alive and well to prove that the evil persona was all fake. however, the baroness could complicate matters (after escaping jail given she still has a network of people who are loyal to her and just like her, they contribute to a corrupted justice system) by actually stealing the dogs and killing some of them, framing cruella and leading the world to believe that she’d lied and really was just a horrible person. if something like this were to happen, i’d hope that the truth would come out, that cruella’s name would be cleared, and that she could live happily and truly free from the confinements of living in the shadow of a fake version of herself.

cruella. deserves. to be HAPPY. the end.

Sangwoo’s mental state and the colour red (a theory)

I’m not a therapist, nor a professional with pointing out mental illnesses but I believe Sangwoo’s hallucinations reflect his inner feelings.

When a panel gives off that shade of red, it is usually when Sangwoo is in (or within) the frame. Koogi could have added this for a special effect, but I think that this could signal the beginning of Sangwoo’s hallucinations and could show his true intentions.

However, further on the woman says very important details, as if she is listing Sangwoo’s flaws. She says the things that he does to Yoonbum and how Bum wants to “run away”.

Perhaps Sangwoo is hallucinating in this scene (again with the tints of red), and Yoonbum’s high school friend is saying what Sangwoo thinks about himself. Like she’s his own conscience.

When she says Yoonbum will ‘leave him for good’ Sangwoo gives a shocked expression right after. As soon as she leaves, the door slams shut and the red colours are no longer in the panels.

Soon after as Sangwoo steps outside of house, he follows the woman to her car and the shades of red come back more vividly.

This is one of Sangwoo’s hallucinations, and this scene could be a symbol of his own fears: that woman, Bum inside the car (ready to leave him), his 'lover’ engaging sexual activity a different person, and Sangwoo’s secret abuser…

The mention of Sangwoo’s mother triggers a reaction from him. The colour is against his forehead, probably hinting that he is getting headaches from his memories.

This could mean that this is what Sangwoo thinks about himself. A disgusting person.

So Sangwoo tilts his head up at the sky to clear his head and suddenly, the red colours vanish from the panels.

It turned out that Yoonbum was never in the car, and the woman drove away right after leaving. This was the end of Sangwoo’s hallucinations for this chapter.

To clear up the ideas, Sangwoo’s conscience can be seen whenever the red colours appear in the frames. His hallucinations were not real. In this chapter, anything tinted red has reference towards Sangwoo’s insanity.

It could be from his mother’s abuse that he has thoughts like this but we will see what happens in the next chapter.

I hope you understand what I’m trying to say, any feedback will be greatly appreciated. And just remember… It’s just a theory!!!

GUY, HANG ON, THEORY

so like, i’m not sure how the crimey it’s supposed to work in THIS way but, susie did mention having a little sister at some point, i remember it clearly but i just dont remember where i heard it ingame.

no one knows for certain about her personal life and circumstances in the current timeline but judging from sussy having cheap chalk as a snack of all things to fill in for breakfast (likely not rule of thumb at home to eat important meals) and the way she expresses her best ass wholesome ass appreciation for her new room that ralsei made at the castle (that she doesn’t have a room of her own/has a bitchshitty room) definitely coins that she’s not having a great life back at home.

susssyy and a little sibling figue, doesnt it… DONT IT REMIND YOU OF:

IS…… LANCER SOMEHOW THE LITTLE BROTHER GUY TO FILL IN THE VOID OF SUSIE’S SOUL THAT HER LITTLE SISTER COULDN’T DO HERSELF???????????? mmmm

THEN AGAIN, I AM NOT SURE HOW EXACTLY DELTARUNE’S UNIVERSE LINES UP FOR SUSAN AND SPADE BOY TO MEET FOR SUSIE’S SAKE BUT IT JUST WORKS SO WELL RIGHT??

AND, IT’S NOT ONLY SUSIE, NOELLE

NELLE DOESN’T SEEM TO BE CLOSE WITH HER MOTHER/THE MAYOR AS IMPLIED IN DIALOGUE. MAYOR HOLIDAY’S HARDLY EVEN MENTIONED

BUT WHAT ABOUT QUEENIE BEANIE? DMAN NOELLE HAS THE EMBODIMENT OF MEMES AND CULTURE AS A MATERNAL FIGURE TO BE FILLING IN THAT PART OF NOELLE THAT HER OWN MOTHER COULDN’T GIVE TO HER

THEN AGAIN NOT SURE HOW THAT STUFF’S SUPPOSED TO WORK EXACTLY, FEEL FREE TO STIR UP SOME THOUGHTS IN THE REPLIES

ALSO HAVE THESE IMAGES IN HONOR OF THE

GUYS OH MY GOD, IT’S POSSIBLE (NEAR THE END OF THIS VIDEO ESSAY BY DARYL TALKS GAMES IS THE SAME THEORY I THOUGHT ABOUT YO)

What if the sides have their own sides and Thomas is just one giant nestling Russian doll thing??

I’m gonna have an existential crisis over this post.

Thomas is a turducken

Consider: ALL of /Thomas’s/ sides are grey sides. Each side splits into a dark and a light side individually - Pride and Imagination for Roman, Terror and Caution for Virgil, Control and Forward Thinking for Logan, Immorality and Self Care for Patton, and Self Preservation and Manipulation for Deceit. (Just a rough thinking, if anyone else wants to use this idea and tweak it go ahead)

*SEASON 4 SPOILERS*

My theory about the upside down(because I have a feeling we’re never gonna get a definitive answer for it’s origins) is that when el sends One/Vecna through the wall at the end of episode 7 it sort of “created” the upside down or at least some kind of holding space(like hell or purgatory) that he was basically condemned to with all the lightning and red smoke…however I think years later when el accidentally reopens the gate, the Hawkins variant of the upside down gets created because of the power surge( explaining why everything is still the way it was on that day when will was taken) and ultimately giving vecna his old home back(notice how whenever he’s in the house in the upside down it’s in it’s decrepit state from 1983 as opposed to the version from the 50s). This explains why none of the paranormal stuff was able to happen until the gate was opened the second time and the Hawkins area was created and vecna had a physical space to begin conducting the creatures of the upside down. This also would explain why during the gap between 1979 and 1983 nothing paranormal happened in hawkins, mainly because vecna was in a holding state. I’m also gonna assume that the gate that gets opened in season 4(you can see the crack that’s left over on the rainbow room wall much like the roof of eddies trailer) is the same gate that is focused on in season 1(when el reopens it by accident and the scientists study it), the rainbow room probably being quarantined and closed off after the massacre that occurred in ‘79.

Moving on to deaths for the season, I am largely convinced that some level of main character( at least someone billed as a season regular) is gonna bite it. I don’t think el is gonna die. It just doesn’t make any sense in the grand scheme of the show seeing the majority of the season has been her going on a whole journey to find herself and bring back her power so to just build all that up and then not give her a chance to progress in life just doesn’t seem likely. Based on the season so far they have been implying that Steve will probably be the most likely to die(which could obviously be a misdirect but I feel it’s not strong enough of an implication that a misdirect would work or be implemented leading me to believe that he will probably be the one to die and sacrifice himself). Hopper/el and the Byers family are gonna be untouched I’d say because with the amount they’ve been through throughtout the series, killing any of them would start a whole new trauma that I couldn’t see either of the families getting over/being able to move forward with in the show, dampering the idea of a watchable 5th season. Also based on the magnitude and importance of the introduction and backstory of vecna (and his actual identity that we learn) I have a strong feeling that the group won’t necessarily win at the end of this season and he will continue to be the big bad in season 5 as opposed to a new villain after defeating him this season.

I’m super curious to see what ends up happening later in the season and the rest of the show continuing forward. I absolutely love theorizing about this show and it will continue to be my favorite till the end of time.

I love you Mike Wheeler.

JSHK Chapter 70 thoughts

What if when Hanako at the end of the chapter says that he’ll say goodbye soon to Nene it means that since she’s not gonna die soon anymore she’s going to stop being able to see him and the other supernaturals?

Her lifespan being very short was the main reason she could see him.

A lot of things are sure going to change, she’s never going to be okay with her best friend dying instead of her…

Edit: I totally forgot about the mermaid bond, thanks for reminding me in the notes. At this point I guess that he’s going to break the bond somehow since he seems determined to let her go and that means next chapters are going to be even more painful than I thought

Stolitz reconciliation.

You know what would be amazing? Sweet? Adorable and satisfying??

When, or if, Blitzo comes to his senses and realizes how he has been to Stolas and actually confesses his pain and just rips off the bandaid…

He references episode 7. And he asks Stolas if he can give him a proper date. He’s like “I never gave you a proper date, huh. I’ve been such a piece of sh-, especially back then… But,” he looks up at Stolas, finally hopeful, and he actually makes a genuine move. “Will you give me the chance to make it up to you now?”

And Stolas just gives him a look of pure love and flattery, maybe even teary eyed. He leans down and offers his hand the same way he did in episode 7. “Of course~” he says softly, with a smile that Blitzo returns.

And the series doesnt even have to end here, we could literally have them get together with enough time for more plot so we start seeing Blitzo act happier and more respectful around Moxxie and Millie, and Moxxie is like “Wow… He seems.. less annoying today.” And Millie gives a knowing smile. “Aww… He’s finally happy, honey.” She says as they watch Blitzo stroll out of their office.

Like Blitzo actually stops being so pushy and in their personal life, we can see how much Stolas positively affects him by giving Blitzo something he’s always been after or needing to improvise for. Love.

I want to see Blitzo actually change for the better due to finally engaging with Stolas and accepting his affections. We NEED to have Blitzo show a consistent progression after he makes up with Stolas and come to embrace what he needs and realize how he’s been acting.

Stolas accepting him and understanding him instead of tossing him aside out of frustration because Blitzo is a tough cookie to be with, and actually making the effort to love Blitzo and try to comfort him and be there for him is something Blitzo needs so much right now. But Blitzo doesnt believe that’s what Stolas is willing/trying to do.

autisticshadowthehedgehog:

So, someone found the filenames for the stuff that appears in the IGN previews for Frontiers. While a lot of these seem like placeholder names, two piqued my interest: the island seems to be named Kronos Island, and one of the enemies is called an Asura.

Now, what do these two things have in common?

They’re both Titans.

  • Kronos, as any Percy Jackson kid will tell you, is the Titan of Time. He’s famous for killing his father so he could take over as the ruler of the Titans, and then eating his children so they couldn’t surpass him. But his kids were immortal so they were fine until his youngest, Zeus, cut him open to free them and they had a war until Zeus kicked his ass some more

  • Asura are beings in many Indic religions, including Hinduism and Buddhism. There tends to be a recurring theme of there being good and bad ones who fight (though Asura tends to be the name for the malevolent ones and Devas for the benevolent) and sometimes they’re classified as patrons of knowledge. In Buddhism, the word is often translated as “titan” or “demigod.”

If these are accurate, we’re getting two names from different religions, but the connecting theme IS them being Titans.

Are we getting Titans in the Sonicverse?

So okay, I was just watching a video on the differences in the different game paths with Berdly and it brought up some questions and ideas for me. So in the deltarune universe do monsters still turn into dust when they die? In undertale it’s a big part of the lore, but in deltarune we have only seen graves, not deaths. So that brings up the question, does Berdly actually ‘die’ in the snowgrave ending? His body is still there in the computer room and intact. It makes me wonder if he is in some sort of ‘fallen down’ state. ‘Falling down’ being when old or hopeless monsters get ill before dying. I say some sort of state because I think that while his body is there, his mind and maybe soul was killed or unable to return from the darkworld before it was sealed, severing his ties to his body. I think the snowgrave players in the next chapter are going to find either a hospitalized or dusted Berdly, after his body starts deteriorating without his mind.

image

This also brought up some questions for me about how much of the lighteners is actually interacting with the dark world. We see Kris pick up items they carry between worlds, but other than Berdly, no damage is ever talked about outside of the darkworld. Our heros get beaten to a pulp, yet we never hear about pain carrying over, so what is its like a spirit body of sorts or a mental image of themselves. This would explain why Berdly’s body seems fine while still carrying over consequences like his arm being paralyzed and his body being frozen and possibly killed.
