The problem with loving your job.
Hello, I am back. Well, at least for this post.
Now, ever since I officially became a teacher I have found myself dedicating my craft to being a better teacher and though I have had my ups and downs, there has ultimately been that challenge to balance it all. ALL. OF. IT. Truly, how do teachers who have husbands and families of their own DO this job?! Big props to those teachers out there who just seem to get it done.
On the other hand, there is me: teacher/girlfriend/daughter/sister/aunt/great-aunt/friend/confidant…and all other jobs that come with me being me and under the teacher hat.
The problem is: I love my job. Yup. I think I love my career as a workaholic than anything else and unfortunately, that takes away from the people I love. I see this. I really do. Sometimes it is just enough to exist in the same room as the people that I love but in the back of my mind I am thinking of new ways to do this and do that, or how I messed up this and how I messed up that.
Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I AM able to be in the moment with friends and family, but this job can also be exhausting and sometimes I just need to sleep.
Oh, sleep. We are closing in on Winter Break and I just want to sleep. But in addition to updating grades, I have yet to decorate my Christmas tree or decorate the house or finish shopping.
See, so much to do, so little time and guess what I prioritize? My students, the grades, the assignments, the Final exam. Ugh. I forgot to make copies!
I love my job, I love my family and friends. Sometimes, in that order! Teaching is a tough job, we should get paid like that of many professionals, and definitely full of sacrifices of time, money, effort, and heart.
I mean this is the most accurate representation of my life.

Some people are comfortable sitting at home watching tv and there is nothing wrong with that. I tried giving up and thought maybe if I watched Football or Basketball I’d have more to say.

Good days & bad days……we all have them, especially those who are on their own #fitjourney either in a #bikiniprep or a #fatloss / #muscle building program. The good days can be absolutely AMAZING and you feel on top of the world like you can handle anything that comes your way but for some (me today) when a BAD day hits…..I just second guess everything. ✔️ Scale went up (I know not to gage complete #progress with that) ✔️ I don’t like what I see in the mirror ✔️have been experiencing really low energy ✔️ always hungry and it just hit me this morning that I probs will never looks like a #bikinicompetitor It’s not my end all, be all BUT I just can’t get as #lean and it’s soooo frustrating. I won’t give up….that’s not in me so now onto some #fastedcardio to start my day! After receiving many awesome DMs (thank you everyone for your kind words ), I thought it was important to share this 2-second #transformation I saw other #bikinicompetitors post the quote about NOT comparing yourself to the girl in the photo because that girl doesn’t even look like “the girl in the photo”. Well, it’s the #truth My bedroom has great lighting….my kitchen, not so much. You certainly see more #abs in my bedroom pic. And that picture was taken literally two seconds later. I have struggled (still do) with #bodyimage and #selfesteem issues my whole life and I am always comparing myself to others (guilty!) but I have to remind myself that lighting, angles, & poses certainly can change a #physique in an instant! #transformationtuesday August 2016 vs April 2017 Sure….different poses & a self tan < BUT that’s 8 months of #consistency Am I happy with the right? NOT AT ALL but I am so happy I am not where I used to be!
