You know what really grinds my gears on the whole spirituality being a trend?

Now I want to start with a disclaimer: I overall don’t mind that it’s seen as a trend, cause more people as a whole trying to become spiritual will help it reach people it normally wouldn’t and change some lives in the best way. The opinion in this post is only of a specific aspect of it and doesn’t reflect my opinion on spirituality trend as a whole.

Now that that’s out of the way, PEOPLE USING THE EVIL EYE WRONG. They really just slap it on every post related to anything negative and call it all good. Like no the evil eye (the symbol specifically) is used to protect yourself from other people giving you the evil eye. It doesn’t chase away all negative energy, it doesn’t help you with your own bad habits, and it definitely doesn’t need to be slapped on every single text post about spirituality.

Also I encourage more people to get caught up on the way the evil eye is represented across multiple cultures in history and how its similar and different in each of these regions.

Thanks for listening to my rant cause no one else cares lmao

So I was eating muscles and I ran into this shell that looks like the evil eye im currently on my spiritual journey and this was the reassurance that I needed

Quitar el mal de ojo (Removing the Evil Eye)

Ingredients/items
-Omiero (holy water)
-Sweet Basil -Sprig
-White Tapper Candle
-White Cloth
-Sea Salt

  1. Take the person that’s suspected to have the aojo “Evil Eye” lay them down on a flat surface, preferably shirtless unless not comfortable with doing so, and then place the white candle at the Crown of their head 8inches away (keep from catching them on fire!).
  2. Then you are going to pour sea salt around the person into a circle, then sit at the crown where the candle is and then call on to our Lady of Fatima and ask her to take the aojo out of (Persons first and last name) then you’re going to move to their right side,
  3. Then take the sweet basil dip into the Omiero and make a Cross on to the forehead, chest, stomach, Groin and Feet while reciting.

“Our Lady of Fatima
blessed Among all woman
dressed in holy light
may you triumph
over the mark of evil
stomping out all
pain and Sorrow
leaving nothing but
Joy, Love, and Light
In the name of the
blessed  mother
amén"

  1. Once you’re done going over the body and reciting the prayer you’re then going to lay the White cloth down on their chest and dip the Sweet basil back into the Omiero and lay it onto the white cloth, close your eyes, and visualize pulling dark tar out and it seeping into the sweet basil.
  2. Once you have done the visualizing and pulling the tar out you’re going to fold up the white cloth over the sweet basil and discard the folded white cloth with the basil at a crossroads preferably buried.

Notes: Please note when working with anyone their comfort is always the first priority, Then and make sure to keep them safe within your working and follow all safety tips you can.

Challenge 143: Lucky Charms: The Fortune Waters Scarf Design

For this challenge I wanted to illustrate a square scarf filled with all sorts of elements I’ve always considered lucky in this dream-like pond theme to bring some good vibes to all those who wear it!

~ The dragonfly: One of my personal lucky charms. Dragonflies have always made me feel peaceful and that I am watched over. I’ve always found them going hiking, loved how different they are, and I once read to make a wish when you see them and it’ll come true. In some cultures they represent good luck and prosperity, so this makes sense!

~Jasmine flower: A flower related to love, positive feelings, appreciation, luck and romance. They also smell AMAZING, and I always have some going in my diffuser as I work.

~ Violet flower: Keeps malevolent spirits away, is a symbol of innocence, abundance, true love, and helps with healing on many levels. (4 has also been my lucky number all throughout sports (my jersey#)…this is why I only drew 4 of these flowers to symbolize my favorite #). They also taste wonderful in tea.

~ Frog: Seen as a lucky symbol of transformation fertility, and the awakening of ones creativity.

~ Lotus flower: Known in feng shui and many religions, the lotus flower is known to carry positive calming energy that can being about auspicious luck in academics, social status, and fortune.

~ Willow leaves: In Celtic folklore willow leaves are worn as charms to protect against jealousy and the wood both inside and outside the house are said to protect against evil (will be making the borders out of willow leaves and wood). I also always really loved willows…I could never explain why.

~ The evil eye : protection against evil in many folklores.

What is your luckiest charm? Purchase a lucky scarf of your own from my Etsy shop at the RiverWood Forest.

NEW: Evil Eye - Eye of Fatima Hanging Home Talisman

This beautiful hanging evil eye talisman features a lovely silver toned filigree Fatima hand and assorted glass evil eye beads. Hang this powerful talisman on a wall, door, from a fan cord or even place within your car or anywhere that happiness and protection are needed. History references the use of “evil eye” beads in the ancient Orient and Sumeria from 3000 B.C. This belief is still prevalent in many places within the world, where many believe that when someone sees your good fortune and is envious, some type of bad luck will befall you. In fact, it is thought that any type of praise, even well meaning, has some form of greed and jealousy attached, and can cause harm. Evil Eye charms are meant to dispell any association of bad luck or energy that may come your way, regardless of its form and who it came from.
