To Help You Remember:
- Wands are days, because they are fire, and fire moves fast.
- Swords are weeks, because while a sword is quick to cut, it first requires some thinking on the warrior’s part.
- Cups are months, because they are water, and water flows with the moon, which completes a cycle in roughly a month.
- Pentacles are seasons to years, because they are seeds, and some seeds only require a season to grow while others need a year.
- The timings for the Major Arcana and the Pages are related to the cards’ meanings. Once you know the meanings, you know the timings.
- The Kings, Queens and Knights are the Zodiac signs’ birthdays:
- King of Wands – Leo (Fixed Fire)
- Queen of Wands – Aries (Cardinal Fire)
- Knight of Wands – Sagittarius (Mutable Fire)
- King of Cups – Scorpio (Fixed Water)
- Queen of Cups – Cancer (Cardinal Water)
- Knight of Cups – Pisces (Mutable Water)
- King of Swords – Aquarius (Fixed Air)
- Queen of Swords – Libra (Cardinal Air)
- Knight of Swords – Gemini (Mutable Air)
- King of Pentacles – Taurus (Fixed Earth)
- Queen of Pentacles – Capricorn (Cardinal Earth)
- Knight of Pentacles – Virgo (Mutable Earth)
I’ve picked up my Grimoire again and begun developing my Tarot section, (which is going to be huge and very time consuming but I am SO excited!)
Please feel free to use these pages as a guide in your own practices or as inspiration for your own BOS or Grimoire :) All I ask is that if you wish to recreate my design or wording, please credit in the description of your post!! Thank you
✨Pages in my Grimoire on Tarot ✨
These pages begin my Tarot study on the symbols associated with the Major Arcana, the 4 Suites and associated zodiacs/meanings, the court cards and what they represent in meanings, numerology and their associated majors, and lastly color symbolism. this is basically all I need to do intuitive readings with the tarot!!
The next chunk of this will be meanings for each of the major arcana, based off of my own practices and what i’ve learned about their symbols.
Beautiful Notes on the Tarot

I found an old document I typed up back when I first started learning about Tarot. I think knowing the meaning of Rider Waite Smith will make things easier when using more unique decks.
The document itself is fairly “organized” but I suggest pressing Ctrl+F and type what meaning you need. Type “Nine of Pentacles” in the search for example.
I used different sources so it’s an extensive list of detailed meanings, Upright and Reversed. It’s kind of a lot of info, but very helpful!

sour jar
a sour jar is a hex used to quite literally sour someone’s life.
materials
- jar
- vinegar (this is the base): souring
- urine: symbolizes you literally pissing on this person’s life
- rusted nails, razors, pins, etc. (you don’t have to have every type): pain and deterioration
- hot spices such as cayenne pepper, paprika, and black pepper (you can also add hot sauce): this person will be irritated and burning
- spiders and insects: more negativity is added into the hex, paranoia to the person
- lemon slice: sours the life of the person
- petition: this can include brown paper with the name of the person, an image of the person, or any type of dna from the person
- black candle
- gloves
steps
- put in the gloves to protect you from the ingredients
- add the vinegar into the jar first
- add the rest of the ingredients in, focusing on the intention of each item
- you can also audibly swear into and at the jar, you can even flip it off
- cover the jar, give it a little shake, and you can either pour melted black candle wax over the jar OR light a black chime candle on the jar and let it burn out
- keep the jar in a dark place for 7 days, shaking it a bit every day
- to dispose of the jar, you can either throw it into the trash, bury it in a crossroad, or throw it into a body of water
make sure to stay safe! sage the area or whatever else you do to keep your environment cleansed ✨
Why you gotta call me out like dis
DEATH
Does Death mean death?
When tarot was born in the 1400s, vaccines, antibiotics and pasteurization had not yet been invented. Diseases we now consider harmless led easily to death.
And so this card appearing back then truly heralded somebody’s demise.
Adapting to our evolving reality, Death has taken on the meaning of transformation, which in essence represents little deaths.
Migrating to a different country is one such death — we are leaving behind our old life. The same goes for changing jobs and moving houses. These were not so easily done in the Renaissance. The majority of the masses lived and died where they were born, doing what their parents taught them to do.
With people today feeling bored or oppressed by their current life, such little deaths are deeply hoped for.
That is why Death should no longer be feared. While it began as a harbinger of losing one’s parent, child or wife, it has adapted to become the herald of a beautiful new life.
THE TOWER
Why do some readers interpret The Tower positively? Are they fooling their clients or themselves? Some of them, certainly.
The Tower, however, is not intrinsically negative. What it is inherently is a shock. An earth-shattering or a life-changing one.
Your mom dying in a car accident two minutes after you spoke to her on the phone is a Tower moment. But so is winning the lottery.
Losing your job out of the blue is another. But so is realizing that your crush is your secret admirer.
The reason The Tower is mostly negative is because it is bad things, not good ones, that shock us to our core.
Good surprises are forgotten in a week or so. Their luster fades easily.
But it takes us a while to move on from death and tragedy.
Yet in and of itself, The Tower does not predict a disaster. It could very well be the windfall you have been praying for.
THE DEVIL
In what world is The Devil a good card?
In this one.
The Devil is about being chained to something that has power over you.
That is often bad, such as drugs, alcohol, an abusive marriage, or a job you need to keep even though it pays below minimum wage.
But it can also be good, like turning your hobby into a business… having a sexually fulfilling lover… or working over time at a job your adore.
Either way, it is the concept of obsession, not oppression, that makes up this card’s intrinsic meaning.
At its best, The Devil is about undying passion — for a person, an activity or a cause.
The inherent negative side of that is being so consumed by one thing, that balance is forgotten.
But then again… who would prefer the balance of the plain over the peak of a mountain?
