P E N T A C L E
Used for magical evocation. Usually printed on altar cloths, painted on altar tiles or work on jewellery or clothing. Used for multiple different purposes; protection, summoning energies or spirits, among other things. Symbol for air.
W A N D
A witch’s wand can be made of almost anything that she/he is drawn to. Used in most spell work to raise and direct energy. A lot of witches decorate their wands with an array of crystals and magical objects to make it prettier. Symbol for air.
C H A L I C E
Symbol for water. Used to hold wine or any other ceremonial liquid. In some cases symbolizes the physical body or the womb of the Goddess.
B O L I N E
White handled knife, often with a curved blade. This blade is strictly for harvesting or cutting herbs, also anything that has to do with carving or cutting during spellwork.
C E N S E R
Holds the incense.
I N C E N S E
Symbol for air. Different incense scents have different properties and you would pick one based on the intent of your ritual work or spellwork.
C I N G U L U M
Mainly used in Wicca as a belt to signify rank, but in other paths it is just used in spellwork. The cingulum is basically a 9ft long chord made from natural fibers or materials.
B E S O M
Mostly used to sweep away negative energy. Most witches make their own besoms.

Placed on the altar for symbolic purposes. In old texts it was said to trap and hold spirits.
S W O R D

C O N T A I N E R S

S T A F F
Used similarly to the wand to draw and direct energies.

Often used the same as if one were to chant. The rhythm helps induce a trance like state and I am assuming that it would work the same as the bell in some sense.
M I R R O R
Used as a divinatory tool but also in spellwork.
C O M P A S S
As some witches do rely on the cardinal directions in spellwork it is handy to have a compass near or on ones altar.

“Photo is not mine it is just for reference if photo is know let me know so i can credit”
The first known and recorded witch ladder found was in an old house in Wellington, Somerset England which was demolished in 1878, while Charles Godfrey Leland had gotten word of the wellington witches ladder whilst he was in Italy he decided to do some research himself in Italy. later to find out that they used a similar item in Italy know by the name “Witches Garland” made up of some of the same items such as Cord, Black hen feathers, and small bones from multiple small animals, and human hair of the one your bewitching/cursing.
While in modern 21st century Wicca and witchcraft a witch’s ladder is a rope and or a cord with 3, 9, or 13 knots with feathers, bones, and beads. And can be used for a multitude of spell casting protection, cursing, healing, breaking curses, and more. While making the withes ladder with each knot a spell is recited to tie in your spell work, for a witch’s ladder spell to be undone the ladder must be destroyed such as by fire, undoing the knots, or dismembering it by a sharp instrument’. Most importantly it’s a simple way of working magic into your life whether it be protection or a simple wishing spell.

—Altar Candle/Fire Safety Tips—
1. Any candle that’s not in a jar should have a heatproof dish under it
2. Candles that are on a shelf should be watched at all time of it being lit… (should have 3 feet above candle free)
3. Candles placed on a window seal should be watched and curtains moved completely out of the way and in winter candles shouldn’t be near a cold window it can cause Stress fractures and can break windows.
4. having oils, cologne, perfume, near candles or incense for long periods of time can make them go rancid and some can be flammable
5. Incenses should be watched at all times
6. clear quartz crystal balls should be covered (fire hazard if the sun hit them)
—Altar Liquid Safety—
1. Any bowls/cups of water should have a collection dish under it heat and cold will make it sweat and can cause warping on your wood altars also can ruin altar cloths and other fabric items you might have on your altar.
—Altar Sharp Items Safety—
1. Any knives, swords, bowlines, and so forth should have their sleeves on them just in case you have children that come into or are living in your home. (or keep put away in a drawer)
2. Some crystals can be sharp-pointed and should be placed further back on an altar this is for your safety and everyone else. (tripping and falling onto said item would not be a fun trip to the Dr)
Note: If you have other safety tips I have missed please feel free to let me know and I will update the list.
Items Needed
~ Witches Water
~ 2 white candles
~ Black string
~ 2 small bones
~ 1 White dressed candle “Power Oil”
~ Nag Champa Incense
~ Sea salt
Step 1. You’re going to light the two white candles that’s set on the Left and Right of your altar and your incense then you’re going to light the white candle Dressed with Power Oil. that in the center,
Step 2. Cross the bones into a solar cross this means equal arms and tie them with the black thread while saying the following below.
“By Bone and marrow, absorbs and hold negativity
In goes all negativity and evil. Into the bone.”
Step 3. Now to use the witches water while you sprinkle it one to the bone say the following,
“With Water, I consecrate this amulet, an instrument that holds
Negativity sent to its weaver.”
Step 4. Sprinkle with sea salt, say the following.
“With Earth, I consecrate this amulet an instrument that holds
Negativity and evil sent to its weaver.”
Step 5. Pass through the candle fire, and say the following.
“With Fire, I consecrate this amulet an instrument that holds
Negativity and evil sent to its weaver”
Step 6. Pass the amulet through the incense and say the following,
“With Air, I consecrate this amulet an instrument that holds
Negativity and evil sent to its weaver”
Note: this is to be worn or you can place it in your house windows as you please,
“Side note: about art I know its not good but it is my own so apologies”
Step One: You could find a stick lying on the ground or pick a very small branch from a tree. If you do the latter, I would recommend that you form a bond with the tree, ask for its permission beforehand, and leave an offering. You could also choose a wand from your birth tree or from a tree you have a connection to. You also shouldn’t kill or seriously harm a tree for a wand.
Step Two: Now for the fun part! When/if your wand is dried, you can remove the bark and decorate it. You could paint sigils on it, put crystals on the end(s), carve in symbols, wrap wire around it, etc. Get creative!
Step Three: You should cleanse your wand of any negative energy it might’ve picked up. You could cleanse it by running it through incense smoke, placing it in a bowl of salt overnight, ring a bell over it, smudge it with herbs, place it in sunlight for a while, or burying in the ground. Just be careful with the last one though.
Step Four: Remember; your wand doesn’t make energy by itself; you need to charge it. Your wand is an extension of the energy it was charged with. You can charge it with crystals, your own energy, sunlight, moonlight, herbs, gods and goddesses, soil, planets, and smoke.
Some Witches and Wiccans don’t use wands, so if you don’t feel connected to the tool you don’t have to have it. That goes for all tools, don’t let anyone tell you how to practice.
Thank you :)
✨ For Magickal Work:
Because this Moon sign is the most inquisitive in nature, it can be a great help when it comes to magickal efforts that require data retrieval or the attainment of long over-due answers. Its energies also pack a wallop when it comes to any work involving control issues, optimism, self-confidence, and friendship, and can be a real boost to those that relate to legal matters, good luck, and prophetic dreaming.
✨ Mundane Event Planning:
If you’ve thought about going back to school, now is the time to do it; knowledge gleaned from classes taken during this Moon sign will stick with you forever. Since solutions and answers come easily now as well, work on projects that require research or problems that require tact and diplomacy. This Moon isn’t all about work though! It’s also about spontaneity, so it’s great for taking a vacation, throwing an impromptu party, getting together with friends, or forming new relationships! (Due to the pandemic, this would be online or at a safe social distance of course!! Be safe my loves!)
✨ Gardening Tips:
Another barren sign, the Sagittarius Moon is best used for soil cultivation and harvesting. Since its energies also discourage growth, it’s a good time to cut plants back before putting the garden to bed.
Brightest Blessings!
[] All-Things-Witchcraft
✨ For Magickal Work:
The Scorpio Moon has a raw, pure energy that makes it perfect for efforts involving sex magic. It also lends itself to magickal work involving psyhicism, separation, truth, transformational change, courage, wishes and goal accomplishments. Use it also for blessing and consecrating scrying mirrors, crystal balls, or other divinatory tools.
✨ Mundane Event Planning:
When drastic measures are necessary for personal growth (setting plans in motion for long-range goals comes to mind here), nothing can beat the transformational and separating energies of the Scorpio Moon. For this reason, save any life-altering decision-making such as cross-country moves, career changes, relationship endings, and so forth for this time. It’s also useful for surgical procedures where growth, tumor, or cyst removal are at issue, as well as the commencement of treatment for other health problems. But those aren’t the only things this energy is good for. It’s also great for buying new bed linens and lingerie, and using them to your full advantage!
✨ Gardening Tips:
A very fruitful sign, seeds sown during a Scorpio Moon tend to germinate very quickly. It’s also a good time to prune if you want to encourage the growth of a leaf or flower buds!
Brightest Blessings!
[] All-Things-Witchcraft
Self-care is extremely important when it comes to witchcraft and magic. It helps you heal and realize that you matter, that you need to put yourself and your health first.
One must find balance, recharge, examine self-destructive behavior and transform it into healthier behavior. This is also a part of Shadow Work that is less intensive, in my opinion.
Taking care of your energy as well as your emotional, physical and mental health are essential. This can be enhanced with magic!
So, what are the goals of self-care exactly? It’s quite simple honestly.
- Healthy Mind
- Healthy Body
- Healthy Spirit
You need to become more skilled at identifying your needs by listening to your mind, body, and spirit. Long-term needs AND short-term needs, what you need truly at this moment.
Let’s dive into this more.
How hard can it be to truly listen to yourself? Think about those times when you’ve had difficulty sleeping, anxiety, depression, or an ongoing feeling of failure, that you’re not good enough, etc. Was it particularly difficult to understand yourself?
When it comes to taking care of yourself, think of the way you treat others. Kindness is our number one thought, correct? Therefore, you should treat yourself the same way. Support yourself like you support those around you. Love yourself the way you love others.
Don’t trying to do too much for self-care, to the point where you need something BIG to make an impact on how you feel. Small doses are better when it comes to this. Take your time to listen to yourself and do things one at a time.
So, how can Magic come into play for this?
One of magic’s main focuses is healing. Whether it be of the self, the earth, humanity and nature. When you think of this, magic and self-care can go hand-in-hand. The practice of magic seeks to establish or balance connection between an individual, the environment, or the Divine if there’s a spiritual connection made.
Magic empowers us and encourages us to grow into the best person we want to be. Self-care helps to maintain your health, heal your spirit, and maintain or optimize your emotional, mental and physical health. All of these things helps us with the general goals of self-care.
Increments are probably the best way to describe how self-care can work for us. Self-care is a complicated combination of many small acts and a shift of attitude. If you use one spell, ritual. or practices, it will not solve the issue. Instead, it will make you feel a bit better each and every time you do. To see your self-worth and see that you deserve to take the time and attention you need for yourself.
It may not make things vanish completely but it’s still extremely valuable. Cleaning up a room won’t diminish your anxiety, but it will make your space healthier and more comfortable to stay in and be around, which is important!
I say this, because many people have a tendency to say things like this:
“All you have to do is exercise and eat better! Your depression will surely vanish then!”
“Try out yoga and meditate more, you’ll be a much better person spiritually!”
“Just be happier! There’s no point in wallowing!”
This isn’t how self-care works. Spa days, retail therapy, yoga, exercising? These “solutions” are pushed often by people and the media these days. If these options aren’t available, due to a separation of class or disposable income, or if you’re seen as actively desiring these things and deny yourself for some reason. Or they assume you actually have the time or energy to do these things.
They suggest you have a gap in your life and that you’re somehow ‘not normal’ if you don’t engage in one of these activities doesn’t fill the void. You don’t have to align with the media’s view of self-care and honestly? It’s healthier if you don’t.
One of the most harmful stereotypes with self-care is when you’re told that you aren’t taking things seriously enough if you aren’t working for the benefit of someone other than yourself. It tells you that if you take a moment or two for yourself, you should feel guilty.
An example of this is a stereotype of someone lazily lounging on a sofa eating junk food and ignoring chores. It suggests that giving a few minutes to yourself between tasks is letting “everyone” down in some way. Which is a terrible way of thinking.
However, procrastination, ignoring a problem and putting something off is not self-care. It’s quite the opposite. Ignoring a problem just makes it more of a problem. Scheduling things so they don’t reach that problem status and being kind to your future self by not leaving them a mess to handle, is self-care.
