Chapter Five: Gryffindor Tower

Rose walked in the forbidden forest angrily and tired. She went straight to where she meets Sirius Black every afternoon.

There he was sitting in his dog form and wagged his tail towards her.

“No…No it’s not working I didn’t sleep all night last night because you walked into the tower and wake Ron Weasley up and he screamed bloody murder and woke the entire Gryffindor tower up even McGonagall and because of you Poor Neville Longbottom is going to have detention every night for a week.”

The dog whined and puts its head on his hands, and made Rose to roll her eye.

“I told you I am researching, no need to barge in the tower. It’s your second time. The first time they made us sleep in the great hall.”

“Yeah that was where you saw Fred Weasley kissing her girlfriend Angelina something.” Said Sirius who changed into his human form somewhere between her rants.

Rose puts his food that she brought on the floor in front of him and sighed.

“You are going to get yourself in trouble.” She mumbled under her breath and sat in front of him.

Sirius started to eat the food: “You don’t have to worry about me Rose.”

“If I didn’t have to worry I wouldn’t be here now I would be in bed sleeping.”

Rose said and looked at Sirius who was eating the food while smiling.

“What are you smiling at?” she asked.

“I still have that effect on girls…that remind me you didn’t apologize to me for reading my letters.”

“Hahaha very funny…” they laughed.

“Can I…Can I ask you a question?” she said after Sirius finished eating his meal.

He nodded and said sure.

“Did you…um…talked to Bellatrix in Azkaban?” she asked quietly.

“Your mother? Yes, we talked sometimes but quietly and she was always asking me how I joined Voldemort without them knowing.”

“Did she ever talk about me?” she asked and Sirius went silent.

He couldn’t recall his cousin ever talking about her daughter.

Rose smiled sadly and looked the other way: “Not important…”

“You know I always used to trick girls in my dog form…James always followed suit but Remus always rolled his eyes and told me silly.” Sirius said making Rose laugh.

It was easy to talk to Sirius Black, he was her mother’s cousin and he knows what it would be like to be different and to have different ideas.

Sirius thought she was a very brave girl to risk her own life to feed him and keep his company and he didn’t know how his rude and sadistic cousin could ever have a daughter like Rose. He told her a few times how brave she was and how she deserves to be in Gryffindor.

Sirius also always told her about his times at Hogwarts and Rose always enjoyed listening to him.

She was searching all the old articles in the library trying to find something that could prove Sirius Black is not guilty.

Sirius told her about Ron’s rat, which went missing and Ron was sure Hermione’s cat ate it. She wanted to find something so Sirius could be Harry’s guardian and Harry could live with him and not the Durselys.

Draco was waiting for a chance to talk to Rose about what she saw as her bogart, but he couldn’t get her. Either his friends were attached to him or she wasn’t available.

Now he saw her walking towards the Gryffindor common room: “Hey Rose…”

Rose turned around and when she saw Draco she was confused, he never talked to her in school, she looked around making sure he was alone and it wasn’t a way to get bullied by his friends, but he was alone.

“Hi Draco, can I do anything for you?”

“I wanted to ask you about the Bogart the other day in defence class…what was that?” Draco asked looking like it wasn’t important to him.

“It was months ago, why asking now?” she said rolling her eyes: “It was nothing, don’t engage your mind.” She went to walk away but Draco grabbed her arm: “You will tell me if anything happened, won’t you?”

Lucius threats rang throw her ear and she nodded: “I will.”

Draco nodded and released her hand. She said her goodbye and they went their opposite ways.

When she arrived at the entrance of the Gryffindor tower she saw Neville Longbottom standing there. He was trying to remember what the password was.

Sir Cadogan was talking loudly and he was telling Neville why he couldn’t let him in without a password and he was also talking about the wars he went to.

Rose took a deep breath and went to the portrait and mumbled the password.

Neville looked at her and she dropped her head. Sir Cadogan started to talk as he opened the entrance for them and they both entered ignoring his rants.

Neville went and joined his friends on the couch and both of his friends throw her dirty looks. Rose dropped her head and went straight to her room.

“These are all the newspaper from that night and nothing…They said you refused to have a hearing and you gone mad that night and that’s it. All they have from Pettigrew was a finger and a lot of dead muggles. What about your wand?” Rose said as she lays the newspaper on the ground for Sirius to see.

“My wand exploded, they said because of the powerful spell I used to kill…” Sirius mumbled as he gazes at his picture, he was much younger and healthier.

“The wand can’t explode from the spell; they choose the easiest path for this.”

Rose said looking sadly at Sirius: “The only way to prove you are innocent is to find Scabbers I mean Peter Pettigrew.”

Rose never was this frustrated in her life, she was losing focus on her studies and she couldn’t find anything on Sirius’ case. She was also trying to find something for Buckbeak to help Hagrid but that was not possible too.

She sat on the library chair with a bunch of book in her hand and she didn’t look where she sat. Putting all her books down with a ‘tud’ she received a hush from madam Pince and glares from around herself.

She mumbled a sorry and started to search through the books.

She had some books of Laws of magical creatures, some about laws and orders in Ministry of Magic and some about her essay for professor Snape.

“You sure read a lot.” Said a voice from beside her and it was a second year struggling to finish his essay of potion and it was full of mistakes.

Rose laughed quietly and said: “Yes, do you want some help with that essay?”

“Yes actually it would be great.” The little boy said and handed his parchment to her.

Rose started to explain his mistakes to him and corrected him. After he finished the essay he smiled at her: “Thank you…they all say you are a…a…”

“A freak, I know…” Rose finished for him and smiled.

“But you are actually a very good person…”

Rose laughed: “If you ever need help I am here; you can always find me in the library.”

The little boy nodded and went out of the library. Rose sighed and started to read one of the books she had picked.

“My child is completely fine.”

your child is constantly crying because all of the marauders era characters are dead

Remus: *sitting quietly, probably reading a book*

Sirius: Merlin’s Beard, how could someone even be that ADORABLE?! OUTRAGEOUS. Ugh.

Remus: *proceeds to literally not move a muscle*

Sirius: *to James* You see what I have to DEAL with EVERYDAY?! It’s unbearable!

James: Mate, you can’t stop talking about him; just ask Remus out, I’m sure it can’t go that badly.

Sirius: Fine! Well, I’ll, I’ll see what the people have to say about it! *turns to group* Do you think I sh-?

Marlene, Dorcas, Peter, Alice, Frank, Lily, Madam Pomfrey, Professor McGonagall, Dumbledore, the Fat Lady, Mrs Norris, Nearly Headless Nick, the Giant Squid:YES.

Sirius: *crying* BUT IT’S SCARY.

Sirius: Remus is too tall for me to kiss, what should I do?

James: You could throw a book at him so he’ll drop down briefly enough for you to meet at the same eye-level as he ascends back up to the clouds to live amongst the giants.

Remus: Prongs, I’m only 6’7”!

Lily: ‘ONLY’?! *crunches popcorn* Pads, I’d recommend standing on a small, portable stool.

Frank: Or better yet, a table. *high fives James*

Alice: Hmm, you could try wearing really high-heels?

Dorcas: No, Sirius’ heels are already high enough to twist his ankles at any sudden movement, we don’t want to kill him.

Peter: Maybe grab his neck and climb up on him like a spider monkey.

Marlene: Dude, just jump up as high as possible and hope for the best.

Remus: Or you could do none of that and just ask me to lean over?
