It really bothers me when I see posts like “not all gryffindors are brave, not all slytherins are evil, not all hufflepuffs are weak, not all ravenclaws are wise” with pictures of Peter Pettigrew, Severus Snape, Cedric Diggory, and Gilderoy Lockhart. These type of posts are incorrect.
They’re not all the defining traits typically associated with the houses. Slytherins would be ambitious, not evil; Hufflepuffs would be loyal, not weak. I really hate seeing posts like that because it’s saying the there are just a few exceptions to Hufflepuffs being weak. Hufflepuffs aren’t weak as a house. It isn’t a weaker house just because they didn’t originally have defining traits (Hufflepuff said she would take the rest and teach them just the same). It’s kinda really insulting to Hufflepuffs.
Also, most of the time they show Cedric Diggory for not being weak. This is ignoring other strong Hufflepuffs in the series, such as Tonks, Ernie, Hannah, and others that stayed behind to fight. I don’t think they’re just showing dead characters because Lockhart isn’t dead.
On a side note, it is also unfair that they’re saying almost all Slytherins are evil. On a general scale, it’s kinda true, but it’s not a defining trait of the house and is a bit rude. Slytherins have meaner tendencies than the other houses, but they shouldn’t say all of them are evil.
It just really pisses me off that the posts are saying that most Hufflepuffs are weak. It’s quite rude and not applicable in many, many situations.
Hannah:You’re the best person I’ve ever met!
Pansy:I’ve literally killed five people.
Jacek (OC) to Hannah: Mom, I made a discovery! By mixing blue and yellow you can make an entirely new color! I’m gonna call it… Blellow!
[Pansy & Hannah have just found Hadley (OC) in a dumpster and have taken her in]
5-year-old Hadley (OC): I can’t believe witches are real! I thought they were just something adults made up to scare kids. Like vitamins.
Hannah: Hadley, vitamins arereal.
Hadley (OC): Well now I’m thinking they might be!
