Chapter song: Boys like You - Dodie (SGDA Playlist)

You tried to look inside the building while maintaining your distance at the bottom of the stairs. “Give me a second.” The man walked inside the apartment, leaving the door ajar. You stood there a little embarrassed, feeling extremely out of place. ‘This would probably be the stupidest way to get kidnapped’, you thought to yourself, holding Bjorn’s leash tighter, hoping the gigantic dog would discourage them from taking you.

You could hear mumbling inside, “no… noo… you are a doctor. Help her… she seems nice… just help her.” The door opened again, and a tall well-groomed, handsome man stood there, wearing the same intriguing clothes as the other. You shifted your weight between your feet, unsure whether this was the doctor the other men had spoken of.

“Wong has told me you hurt your shoulder. Do you need any help?” He spoke stoically, almost mechanically; however, you could feel a faint hint of annoyance in his voice.

“Well, I am okay. He told me he knew a doctor and that maybe my shoulder was dislocated. Are you the doctor?” You asked, feeling extra self-conscious about your looks now that this handsome stoic man was looking at you from the top of the stairs.

“Oh, yes, I am the doctor. Call me Stephen. I would be happy to give your shoulder a look. However, I guess you would have to come inside for that,” he sighed, looking down at you, “and I am not sure how comfortable you are with coming inside a stranger’s house.” The message was loud and clear as he obviously found this request a waste of his time. You felt instantly more uneasy, as he seemed bothered by your presence.

“It’s okay. I’ll just go home and put some ice on it. Thank you and sorry for bothering you.” You decided to leave, unwilling to let the doctor continue to make you feel uncomfortable. You started to walk away, missing the disapproving shove Wong gave the doctor.

“I am sorry. I think I unintentionally came out as rude. Give me one second.” Stephen walked behind you, and Wong followed. “I will just give it a look here. Wong, can you hold the dog?” Wong looked at you, asking for permission to grab Bjorn, and you gave him the leash. His tone had changed drastically between sentences, sounding more eager to help now.

“Can I touch your shoulder?” He asked patiently. You nodded, and he started moving your arm, trying to figure out where it hurt. His touch on your skin was delicate and surgical as he tried to come into contact with it as little as possible.

After a couple of minutes, he stated, “everything seems to be fine. However, it would be best if you tried to not put any pressure on it for the next couple of days. Although you seem to have just slightly over-stretched your ligament, it is important to be careful because you could sprain it.” His eyes were still on your shoulder as yours searched for his. He eventually backed away and stood by his friend, distant and dismissive.

You smiled at him awkwardly “well, thank you. Ehm… Wong? Could I have Bjorn back, please?” You used the name you heard the doctor call the other guy.

“Oh, I think you should let Strange walk you at least to your street. As he said, you may sprain your shoulder, and this guy seems to have recuperated all his energy already,” Wong responded, pointing at Bjorn, who was going in circles and trying to chase a wild squirrel. The doctor and his friend exchanged a look. You were unsure if Wong expected Stephen to flirt with you or just liked to put him in awkward situations, but you would not have minded the extra help.

“It’s okay. I am sure you are both very busy.” The doctor did not seem particularly keen to do it, and you were not gonna push it. Wong moved closer and elbowed him.

“I would be happy to walk you to your street. Wong is right.” The doctor cleared his throat and spat out the words quickly, looking at the street.

“Ehm… I mean, sure.” Wong gave Strange the dog’s leash, and you started walking towards Central Park. The shorter man waved at you as you exchanged an entertained look, hoping he had not just set you up for the most awkward walk of your life.

Stephen walked in silence by your side, his jaw tightly clenched as he tried to think of something to say. You hated awkward silences and could not understand how such an attractive man could be so inept at socializing. “So.. you are a doctor… What type of doctor are you?” You asked, kicking a small rock in front of you as you walked.

“I wa- am a neurosurgeon.” He answered, adding little to nothing to the conversation. You pressed your lips, unable to understand what his problem was.

“Wow, you don’t strike me as somebody with a god complex.” You joked, hoping it would help him relax and open up the conversation.

“Do you think all surgeons have a god-complex?” He looked at you curiously, letting the corner of his lips lift just so slightly. Your sincerity had taken him slightly aback.

“I don’t think, I know. I am the daughter of one.” You responded, kicking another tiny rock and keeping your eyes on the street. “Big egos and an even bigger need to always have everything under your control.”

He grinned, entertained. It was not the first time he had heard that. “What do you do?” He tried to change the topic. Sure your perception of surgeons would not help him impress you.

“I am a lawyer, recently qualified. I work in London.” You looked at him, scanning his face for a reaction. He shook his head incredulous as soon as you finished speaking, smiling, thoroughly entertained. You had not quite understood what was so funny.

“A lawyer judging a surgeon for his god complex, a bit hypocritical, wouldn’t you say? What brings you to New York?” You were looking at each other properly for the first time, and you could not help but appreciate his handsome features. His gaze had softened significantly since you first saw each other, offering you a friendlier, more welcoming expression.

“Lawyers are nothing compared to surgeons when it comes to ego.” You tried to defend yourself, although you knew he was right. “My best friend lives here. I have five weeks off before I start full time as an associate, and she has taken it as a personal challenge to bring me here and make me fall in love with New York so I won’t go back.” You broke the eye contact and looked at the trees.

“Well, you must be enjoying the nicer weather here.” He commented, leaving out that he had been in London visiting the Sanctum just two hours ago, “I hope to be helping her case.”

“There are places with good weather all year round that I like more,” you replied unamused, already annoyed at New Yorkers’ obsession with New York.

“So, what direction are we going?” He asked as you had been walking for a while now.

“I need to get to Central Park. I am having lunch with my friend there. It is quite a long walk, so I am happy to continue alone,” you responded honestly, slightly saddened at the thought of having to say goodbye already, just as the conversation was finally improving.

“No, it’s alright. I need to leave my house more often. A long walk will be good.” Maybe he was more charming than you initially believed. You relaxed instantly, hoping to talk to him a bit more.

Bjorn was behaving nicely. He seemed to like Stephen. You looked down at the leash instinctively and could not stop yourself from looking at the doctor’s hands. Although faded, you could see he had severe scarring on them. You looked up before he could catch string, not wanting to make him uncomfortable.

“So, do you have any plans for your time here?” He asked politely, opening the conversation again.

“Not really, my friend Sophie spends most of her time at work during the week, so I was hoping to find my way around and have some solo adventures. I like doing things by myself. I feel like people don’t do many things they want to do because they don’t have anyone to join them, which is a wasteful mentality. Life is too short to wait around.” You answered, smiling without taking your eyes off the street.

“Well, if you ever need a city guide, I am sure Wong or I can show you around.” He awkwardly offered. You pressed your lips together as you smiled, noticing his intentional inclusion of Wong in his proposal.

“That sounds great; yeah, Wong seems super nice. Not a man of many words for sure, but very nice.” You teasingly specified, trying to see if he was just being polite or if he actually wanted to hang out with you.

“Well, I am sure Wong would love to show you around, but now that I think about it, he has been very busy lately. Also, I think I am better company generally, a lot more talkative.” You felt your cheeks grow warm as you had the confirmation that he was at least somewhat flirting with you.

“Oh really? You don’t strike me as particularly chatty.” You teased him again, hinting back to the initial awkwardness and silence.

Your conversation was interrupted by Sophie calling you, “Babe? Hello? I am so so sorry, but I won’t be able to grab lunch with you. There is a situation at the office. I will tell you all about it once we see each other. We can meet at home at 4 pm?”

“Ehm, yes, no worries. I am in good company anyway. See you later.” You answered, referring to Bjorn but hinting to the doctor and hung up. “Well, my lunch plans are cancelled, so I think I’ll just head home.”

“If you’d like, we can grab something to eat. You need to try a sandwich from a deli while in New York.”

“Sure! Let’s do that.” You agreed, smiling down, hoping he would not notice your excitement.

You grabbed the most giant sandwich you had ever seen and sat down together on a bench. You got some water for Bjorn from your backpack and a little snack.

You eventually told him your name, giggling about the fact that he had not asked earlier. The two of you spoke about music and art. You told him how much you loved galleries, and he asked you what your favourite painting was. You answered that The Swing by Fragonard was one of them, so detailed and full of hidden meaning. You could look at it for hours and continue to find new elements.

He told you he was not a huge art nerd but that Caravaggio’s chiaroscuro style had always called his attention. You asked him which of his paintings was his favourite, and he thought about it for a second, “the betrayal? The taking of Christ, I believe, is the full name. The light in the armour makes it so realistic.” You thought of the painting in your mind, thinking how the expressions of shock and betrayal had always stopped you from appreciating the realistic lighting of the image.

You continued walking after a while, lost in your conversation. Stephen was a well-travelled man, dwarfing your travel achievements. It seemed like he had been everywhere, visited every city you had and more. You eventually arrived at Sophie’s apartment’s street, letting him know this was your stop.

“Well, I should get going,” You announced awkwardly. Stephen gave you Bjorn’s leash and opened his mouth hesitantly.

“You know, I should probably look at your shoulder again in maybe a couple of days to make sure you did not sprain anything.” He tried to keep a stern expression, but the nervousness was tangible, making you smile as you felt your cheeks grow warmer.

“Wanna check it out over dinner, maybe? I pay, you know? For the medical fee?” you gave him a confident smile, and he chuckled, smiling back.

“Sounds good, but you have to let me pay. Please take it as a welcome gift to the city. I am sure you’ll have another occasion to pay back your medical debt. Could I have your number to send you the dinner details?” You smiled. He wanted to take you out.

“Yes, of course.” You proceeded to give him your number. “Well, it was a pleasure to meet you, Doctor.” You gave him one final dashing smile and entered the building.

….

Sophie got home around 4:30 pm, and as soon as she entered, she ran to Bjorn. “Hello! How is the goodest boy in the world doing?!” She asked him, ignoring your presence.

“Well, he is okay, except he almost dislocated my shoulder and ate some guy’s sandwich!”

“Oh no! My baby Bjorn would never ever do that! He is just a playful boy. He would never hurt anyone!” She kept the baby talk while petting him. “He is so tired! What did you do to my poor baby?” She added.

“Well, he should be super tired. We walked more than 8 kilometres this morning!” You responded, moving to the side of the couch so she could sit next to you.

“Why would you do that? Oh my god. You know we have public transport here too, or how do you call it? The tube,” she tried to pull off a posh London accent, forcing you to roll your eyes.

“Well, I was first supposed to only walk to Greenwich Village, but then I hurt my shoulder, and this guy told me he knew a doctor, and well then we went to the doctor’s house, and the doctor was this super handsome man and his friend forced him to walk me back, so I walked back with him.” You spoke, trying to summarize your morning in one breath, hoping she would not hear the part where you followed a stranger to another stranger’s house.

“What happened with do not trust strangers in New York? People here are weird. I am glad you did not get killed.” She answered, alarmed. There was a weird dismissiveness in your friend’s gaze as she refused to look at you properly, keeping her eyes on the dog.

“He kind of asked me out on a date. It was more like me asking him, but I gave him my number, so we will see.” You decided to ignore her dismissiveness, knowing that if she needed to tell you something, she would do it herself.

“OH my god … that is awesome! He is a doctor too?! That’s fantastic. How old is he? What’s his name?”

“He is for sure older than us. He has some grey hairs but in a hot way. I don’t think he is old, though, he is maybe in his late 30s, but I am not sure. He is a surgeon and has a house in Greenwich, so he cannot be too young to be done with all his specialization and be making that type of money. His name is Stephen.” You said, laying your head on her shoulder as Bjorn tried to spread across both of you for pets.

“Okay, well, he sounds nice, and he walked you all the way here, which is insane. So let’s hope for the best. I found the perfect bar for us to go to tonight on other interesting news.”

The two of you started to get ready together and ordered some sushi for dinner. You sat on the ground doing your makeup while eating pieces of nigiri. Sophie had kept the weirdly fidgety attitude going, letting you know she was close to breaking her silence.

She finally spoke up, pausing the music, “I have something to tell you, and I know you are gonna kill me once I tell you, but like I had to wait until I knew it was okay.” There it was. Years could go by, but your best friend’s lack of capacity to keep a secret had not improved.

You looked at Sophie, putting down your mascara. “What’s up? What did you do now?” You asked her to continue.

“I am so sorry for not informing you before. You know my job, right?” She spoke shyly, sitting closer to you on the ground. You cocked your head, unsure where this was going.

“Yes…what about it? You are starting to worry me. Just tell me.” You reached for her hand.

“So… you know how I work in 'Risk Management’? That actually translates to I deal with all the fuck ups and problems the Avengers have. I am like the new Pepper Potts, except I am not gonna marry any of them.” She joked. You looked at her, not sure if she had been drinking already before coming home or if she was trying to be funny. “You know the dog? Well, that’s like Thor’s dog,” she added.

The silence in the room grew thick as she expected an answer. “Mmh mmh,” You hummed, going back to putting on your mascara, unsure what was the point of her joke.

“Is that all you have to say?” Don’t you wanna kill me for not telling you before?“ She shook your shoulder and looked at you in shock.

"Well, if it is true. Why didn’t you tell me before?” You looked at her sceptically, putting down the mascara once again before you would end up poking your eye out.

“Because we are not allowed to and I was waiting for Tony to be okay with it and I have been talking to him about you for the past weeks and he is finally okay with it. He even wants to meet you and see if you vibe with the team.” She rambled, looking at you seriously.

“Sure, Sophie, well, we can meet him after I am done hanging out with Matthew Grey Gubler next week.” You joked, not understanding where she was going with this random lie/joke. Sophie was incapable of keeping secrets from you. This was practically impossible, or it meant she had been in constant agony for the past couple of months.

“Babe, I am being serious. Whatever. You are meeting them all next weekend anyway, Tony is throwing a party, and we are invited. So somewhere next week we have to go shopping for dresses.” She stated, getting up a little irritated that you refused to believe her.

“Yep, I’ll make sure to organize a dinner with the queen of England next time you visit.” You laughed at yourself, grabbing your mascara again. Bjorn was sitting next to you, so you patted him on the head “you are the dog of the god of thunder, huh? That totally makes sense.” Sophie let go of the topic, for now, unwilling to ruin the night.

Right before you finished getting ready, you received a text from an unknown number:

'I have made a reservation for this hidden gem in the city. It’s a little difficult to get there, so I am happy to pick you up. The reservation is for Tuesday 8:00 pm.

Stephen’

You saved his number and answered quickly:

'That’s perfect. I’ll send you my address so you can pick me up on the day.’

The night was fun. You drank a lot of tequila and danced with a group of bankers. Sophie was a little annoyed at you for not believing her, but you just could not get over the fact that she would somehow keep this a secret from you for so long and then randomly decide to tell you before you went out. She got over her bad mood pretty quickly once you started drinking, and then you had a lovely night reminiscing your years partying together.

After you had lost the count of the shots at some point during the night, you had the amazing idea to text Stephen. A fantastic drunk idea that you would surely regret in the morning. You grabbed Sophie’s arm and took her away from the dance floor into the bathroom.

“I am gonna send Stephen a message!” You screamed at her in the bathroom, smiling like a drunk dumbass proud of your 'clever’ idea.

“OMG yess! Take a selfie in the mirror!” She cheered you on just as drunk as you. You made two terrible decision-makers while drunk.

You took a picture of yourself trying to look as sexy yet innocent as humanly possible and wrote:

'Wishing you were here xx’

You closed the messaging app and went back into the dance floor, forgetting about it completely a couple of minutes later. The bankers offered to take you guys home, but you refused, not accepting their advances. You got home at around 3 in the morning, completely drunk. Sophie took the keys out of her bag, trying to open the flat door.

“Do you need help there?” you asked her as she missed the hole at least twice.

“Nope, you are drunker than me. No chance you can be of any help right now.” She finally got it on the fifth or sixth try.

You entered the flat and turned on the lights. Bjorn woke up from all the noise, a little confused about what was happening. Sophie petted him, and you threw yourself on the couch after taking off your shoes.

“Oh man, we drank a lot. Maybe a little too much. Do you have any aspirin? I don’t wanna be too hungover tomorrow.” She answered your query with a glass of water and two aspirins in her hand, anticipating your request.

“Here, take this, and let’s go to bed.” She said, moving your legs, sitting next to you, downing her glass of water, and then dropping her head on the back of the couch. You took the aspirins and put the glass on the coffee table.

“I want nuggets.” You spoke, hungry.

“Well, you should have thought of that before we got home.” She looked back at you, annoyed.

“Well, can you not get like Spiderman to deliver us some?” You joked, causing her to punch you on the arm.

“It is not funny bitch. I am being honest with you. I have been only working for them for like two months. There was no chance for me to tell you any earlier. Come on, believe me.” She begged you, “also, Peter is probably fast asleep, probably spent the night doing math homework or something” she laughed at herself.

“Oh man, is Spiderman a teenager?” You looked at her incredulous.

“Anywayyy, let’s go to sleep.” She responded evasive, trying to get up and pulling your arm to take you to bed.

“But nuggetsssss…” you complained, standing up with her.

“Tomorrow, you can get nuggets.” She said, pushing you into the bathroom to brush your teeth

The warmth of the sunlight on your face brought you back to life. The killer headache took over your senses as soon as you regained consciousness. You tried to open your eyes, but the mere thought of it made you feel stupidly dizzy. Next came nausea, forcing you to run eyes closed and all into the bathroom and throw up whatever was left of the sushi in your stomach.

'What a great start to your Sunday morning’, you thought while lying on the bathroom floor by the toilet for what seemed like forever before Sophie came in running and screaming, “MOVE.”

You barely moved in time before your friend met the same faith as you, throwing up as she tried her best to hold up her hair. You crawled out of the bathroom towards the kitchen looking for water but were met by a gigantic excited puppy running your way.

“Good Morning Bjorn. Please let me go, or I will throw up on you,” you warned him as he jumped on you, making you lay flat on the ground.

“I cannot do this. What the fuck did we drink yesterday night?” Sophie grunted from the bathroom.

“I only know one thing, I am never ever ever eating sushi again.” You answered, still lying face down on the floor.

“Bjorn needs to go on a walk.” Sophie let you know, asking the unspoken question.

“Well, that is not my responsibility. I walked him yesterday, and he is your friend Thor’s dog.” You replied, knowing damn well you would have to walk him anyway.

“You may see the handsome doctor on your walk. You can go to Greenwich.” The handsome doctor… those words brought an image back to you from yesterday night, and just like that, your nausea from the drinking was substituted with nauseating embarrassment. Your eyes opened wide, and you got up from the floor, running towards your phone that lay dead on the couch.

“FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. WHERE IS YOUR CHARGER?” You screamed, running into the bathroom to find Sophie slowly getting up.

“What’s wrong?? It is in the kitchen! Calm down!” Your face turned as warm as possible as you ran to the kitchen and plugged the phone. “What’s wrong?!” Sophie shouted again.

“Oh my fucking… I texted him while I was drunk at like one in the morning. I sent him a picture of me. You told me it was a good idea! Aaaah” you screamed dramatically, standing by the phone, hoping the pressure would make it charge faster.

“Oh fuck yeah haha, I remember. I am sorry about that haha,” although still dying, Sophie found this funny incident to be the silver lining of a shitty morning. “I am sure you looked hot,” she lied to you between giggles.

“It does not matter how hot I looked, Sophie! I was drunk! I met him yesterday! He is gonna think I am insane!” You replied, dropping yourself on the couch and giving up on your phone turning on any time soon.

“You are overthinking it! Everybody sends drunk texts to people they find attractive. He will be flattered, and if he is not, you dodged a bullet because you hate boring man.” She said, going to the kitchen and grabbing glasses of water for the two of you.

“Can you check if it is on?” You asked, covering your face with a pillow on the couch.

“Nope, still nothing.” She responded, bringing you the water.

“I am just gonna block him and never step a foot on Bleeker street ever again. I am just gonna take the next flight to London.” You announced theatrically, chugging the water after sitting up.

“Everything is okay! New Yorkers are not as presumptuous as British men. He won’t judge you for it.” She tried her best to make you feel better, giving Bjorn some food before sitting by your side.

“But he is not a twenty-year-old rugby lad Sophie, he is a proper sophisticated man, and I wanna die.” You cried out, putting your head on her shoulder.

Although minimal, the vibration of your phone made you spring up from the seat faster than you should have, as you instantly felt nauseous again. You opened your phone as if it was a time bomb and opened the messaging app.

1 - Unknown Number

2 - Stephen

“Oh my god, I have two messages from him. I don’t wanna open it, Sophie. I am gonna throw up.” You cried out again.

“Don’t be such a baby! Open it!” She said, walking to your side and opening them for you

Stephen

Wishing you were here xx

Well, this is something nice to wake up to.

Hope you enjoyed your night out, darling. Don’t overwork your shoulder.

“See! Everything is fine! He is flirty!” Sophie reassured you, looking over your shoulder. You opened the other message.

Hey! It’s Hunter from Goldman Sachs. It was nice to meet you yesterday.

“Who the fuck is Hunter, and how the fuck does he have my number?” You looked confused at your friend.

“Oh shit, I think I gave it to him on our way out. Sorry, Babe. He was cute, though and seemed to be very into you. Keep your options open! It is New York!” She answered apologetically.

“Sophie, he is an investment banker. I would let a mass murderer rail me before an IB man. He would probably have better karma anyway.” You joked, closing your phone.

“Oh well… I take Bjorn on a short walk, and you buy us some breakfast? I don’t want you to overwork your shoulder.” She winked at you teasingly.

“Sounds like a plan. I need a baseball hat, sunglasses, and black coffee in my system.” You declared, turning around and putting some water to boil on the kettle you had gifted your friend years ago. You were glad she kept it.

Sunday was uneventful at best. You both felt dead inside and ate little to nothing in fear of throwing up. You finally ordered some burgers for dinner and finished them. After eating, you took Bjorn for a short walk around the block, staying away from Greenwich completely.

Monday morning, Sophie left for work early, and you had breakfast on the couch with Bjorn. After your morning walk, you received a bunch of emails from London requiring you to sign certain documents and jump on a quick call with the firm’s employment team. At some point in the afternoon, you finally took the chance to explore the building’s gym and exercise a little. After a warm shower and another quick walk with the Golden Bear, you sat on the couch watching the news. Sophie had gone MIA, and it was almost 10:00 pm. You sent her a message checking if everything was okay, but your phone started vibrating just as you finished sending the message.

Incoming Call - Stephen Strange

'Oh God, why was he calling? Like who even calls people nowadays without texting them first,’ you thought as you picked up.

“Hello?” You answered.

“Hi, how has your day been?” He replied smoothly on the other side of the line.

“All good, boring, doing lawyer things. What about yours?” You responded as a smile formed on your lips at the sound of his voice.

“It has been good. I wanted to check if you were still up for tomorrow?” You could hear a faint hint of nervousness in his voice again.

“Yes, of course, I was worried you were gonna cancel on me after my drunk messages from yesterday night.” You responded, laughing at your drunk self.

“Why would I ever do that? As I said, it was a great surprise to wake up to, and you looked stunning. I am flattered to know I occupied your thoughts while you were out partying.” You could not help yourself but smile cheekily.

This man knew exactly what he was doing. You were surprised; he really did not give you any playboy vibe the first time you saw him. I guess everyone has a little of a hidden past.

“Well, I hope to not disappoint with my looks tomorrow night.” You said, obviously asking for more validation from him as he tapped on keys that he had not before.

“Well, I hope the same too. My expectations are even higher now.” He was good. He was not gonna give you more than a taste of his advances. He knew how to keep a woman wanting. You bit your lip.

“Goodnight, Doctor, sweet dreams.” You cut the conversation short, hoping to leave him wanting for more.

“Goodnight, darling, sleep well.” He hung up; however, you could hear the smile in his voice.

You shouldn’t have left this early. The train to the airport was empty, and your head felt like it was on the verge of exploding. Waking up in the middle of the night to secure the cheap morning flight never felt worth it at 3 a.m.

Your phone vibrated in your left pocket as you were falling asleep, forcing you to move uncomfortably to get it out as the bag on your lap weighed you down. “Hello?”

“Good Morning! Are you at the airport already?” A cheerful voice asked on the other side of the line.

“I am on the train, should be there in fifteen minutes. Are you picking me up from the airport?” You asked as your voice gained some energy. You were exhausted, but the excitement to see your best friend after so long tramped it all.

“Of course, I will! What type of host would I be otherwise? Excited to see New York?” She tried to continue the conversation after hearing the sleepiness in your voice, scared you would fall asleep on the train and miss your flight.

“I am more excited to leave London. I am only visiting to get away from this city and maybe meet an Avenger or two.” You joked, pushing the bag from your lap to the floor before your blood circulation halted completely.

“Bitch, you don’t want to meet the Avengers. 99% of the time they are around, something bad is about to happen. You don’t wanna be there” Sophie was not a big Avengers fan, but who could blame her? She lived in New York. She had to live through every fuck up Tony Stark, and his friends caused.

“Whatever, I hope I get a picture with at least one of them. I will be snooping around the city for them."

You talked with Sophie for the rest of your train ride, got to the airport safely with plenty of time and boarded. The flight was quick, and you slept most of the way.

You were starving by the time you went through security and picked up your bag. Thankfully, your best friend would want to grab food as soon as she picked you up. You were excited to have access to all the American food chains you could not get in London.

As soon as you stepped out of the security area, you spotted Sophie waving at you excitedly. You ran towards her as fast as your backpack and gigantic suitcase would allow.

"Aaaah, babe, I cannot believe you are finally here!” She hugged you tightly. It was like a suffocating breath of fresh air to hug her again after so long. So much had changed since you last saw each other, and although phone calls helped, it was nothing like having her by your side. She smelled like your childhood and felt like home, even after all these years.

“You look super hot! Where are you coming from?” You asked her as soon as she let go of you. She was wearing a lovely fancy red dress that gave her a corporate look you were not used to.

“Just work, I had to deal with a last-minute issue, but everything should be fine now. I am all yours for the rest of the day.” She reassured you, grabbing your suitcase. “Let’s get you some food now.”

“Great! I am starving!”

You grabbed a quick bite and caught up on the latest news in your life. You were both still very much single, but she was hoping to fix that. On the other hand, you wanted to stay away from any serious commitment, too busy with work. Sophie told you that she was working in some Risk Management corporate position, and well, you were about to make associate at a law firm in London. Five weeks from now, you would not have time for anything or anyone but work. So this was the perfect opportunity for you to enjoy your last weeks of freedom before working in something completely different from your original law school dreams.

After grabbing brunch, you headed to Sophie’s place. She must have been making good money from the looks of her beautiful apartment in a building in Manhattan. You did not know a lot about rental prices in New York, but if they were even close to anything in London, this was an expensive place to rent.

“Girl! I guess they are paying you very well at your new job!” You teased her as you entered the beautiful flat.

“They have to. I am constantly saving their asses. They make me work 24/7, so the least they can do is give me enough money to have a nice place to crash after work.” She responded dramatically, taking off her heels.

“Look at her, Sophie Meyer, Columbia Graduate,” you pointed at the graduation pictures on her wall. That had been the last time you two had seen each other almost four years ago (or nine if you counted the time you were gone). “This city is magnificent at night, and I must say, this is a little nicer than my view in London”, you added, pointing at the breathtaking skyline surrounding her living room.

“So, although I may be making enough money to have a nice apartment is still a one-bedroom, so we will have to snuggle up together. Like the old times.” She said, reminiscing all the times she visited you in London, and you had to share your bed. “I have work tomorrow, but I should be free all weekend just for you. Feel free to do whatever you please, go Avengers hunting in Central Park or whatever,” she joked.

You spent the rest of the afternoon giving her the gifts you had brought from London and catching up on gossip about your families and friends from school. By 10 p.m., you were exhausted and jetlagged and decided to head to bed while Sophie sent some more emails.

The morning after, you awoke to the smell of coffee and the tumbling of objects in the living room.

“Yes. I will be there in 20 minutes. No problem. Have a good day.” Sophie mumbled on the phone while trying to sip on her coffee as she put on her heels. Today she was rocking another dress, this time a navy blue one which was flowier and had a ribbon on the front.

She ended the call and screamed, “fuck, fuck, fuck I have to go. Now."

"Well, good morning to you too, sweetheart. Where are you headed to at….” You looked at your watch “7 in the morning?”

“My boss needs me. There has been some complication with a contract that was leaked to the press. I have to solve it. Ouch,” she added as she finally managed to put on her shoes.

“I will see you for dinner?” You asked.

“Yes, yes. I’ll try my best to be here. I’ll ask my boss if I can introduce you to our team. You know, I need you to move to New York instead of starting that dumb, boring job in London.”

“Yes, whatever, Sophie. It is one of the most coveted positions in London. You should be proud of me like the rest of the world is.” You rolled your eyes at her, tired of her honesty and persistence on the topic.

“I am proud of you. I just think you are giving up everything you believe in, all your dreams. You know success is great, but your values have always been more important than that. We both know no amount of money or success will fulfil you as much as chasing your dreams. You need to do what makes you happy, not what others think you should do.” She argued while putting on her jacket, “Also, a friend from work asked me if I could take care of his dog while he is away, so we may have to do that. It is only for a couple of days. Anyway, I gotta go! Love you! Please be careful out there. This is not Notting Hill! Do not trust any strangers on the street! My spare keys are here. Please don’t lose them!” she added before walking out the door.

“Byee!” You screamed as she closed the door. Although Sophie was right, this job was not per se your dream job. It was the dream of 90% of lawyers. Giving up this opportunity would be naive, and it would disappoint many people, including your parents and law school friends. This was too much pressure for you to simply not go for it. You would find happiness in other aspects of your life, in your apartment in Notting Hill, in your nights out in Shoreditch, in the cat you wanted to adopt and in the men that would entertain your evenings.

You got ready to go on a walk; the day was super sunny, and the smell of spring filled the apartment. You painted your nails. You did that every day. It was inevitable; at some point during the day, you would start peeling it off and wouldn’t stop until it was all gone. It was a habit you had developed through your years in uni. It was either the nail polish or your nails and cuticles, so it was a tedious but necessary habit.

Opting for a comfortable yet stylish outfit, you wore a dress with flowers. You never know when you may run into an Avenger.

You spent the day on the streets of New York, window shopping and grabbed a slice of pizza for lunch before heading to the MET in the afternoon. Galleries were your favourite place in the world. Nothing giving you more peace than standing in front of a beautiful painting. Sometimes you wished you could just meet these artists and hear what they were thinking about while painting.

It had gotten dark by the time you got back to the flat. You took off your shoes and laid on the couch immobile and exhausted, until the entrance door opened again.

“Good afternoon, babe! How was your day out?” Sophie sang tired as she entered the flat and took off her heels.

“It was beautiful! I went to the MET, almost as nice as the National Gallery!” You joked, making her roll her eyes. “Anyway, how was your day, businesswoman? Chasing your boss around?”

“Yeah, whatever, it was nice, I ended up having lunch with the team, and I told them about you. My smart best friend from London sounds like somebody everyone wants to meet. I don’t think you wanna meet them, though; corporate Newyorkers are not as nice as corporate Londoners.”

“The fact that you are calling any corporate sell-out nice already says everything about your judgement on people”, you answered sarcastically.

“Woa woa woa, look who’s talking? Miss ‘I will work in Banking and M&A and watch the world burn’” she spoke, throwing her jacket at you.

“Now, to the important things. Is there anyone within your team you would like to set me up with? Because I did not come all the way to New York to go on Hinge dates.” You asked, lifting your eyebrow and making an insinuating face.

“I don’t know, really. I don’t think anyone in my team is soo up their ass to be your type. Wait.. mmh… Nah, but I will ask around. Maybe they know some narcissist, tall, skinny, dark-haired asshole. That’s still your type, right?”

“Yes, indeed. I am glad you still remember,” you matched her sarcastic tone, getting up to grab some water.

“Anyway, my coworker is coming later today to drop off his dog. He will be with us just for five days. I am sure you will be happy to have somebody keep you company while you walk around Central Park. He is a cutie, a big cuddly golden retriever, so all the eyes will be on you.” Sophie let you know and then added, “but going back to what we talked about before, babe. I don’t think you should go back to London, I really don’t. You were always keen to do something good for the world and help people, and now you are throwing all of that away."

"That’s not true. I will still do pro bono work once in a while,” you argued.

“You know that is not enough, and you will be unhappy. New York is a great place for you, and I will talk to my boss and tell him how awesome you are. We help people, babe, and you could do it too. I also know quite a few people that work for the UN. You could work there too.” She answered as you both sat on the couch.

“Is this why you invited me to New York? To kidnap me?” You laughed, and she kept her serious look.

Your conversation was interrupted by the intercom ringing. Sophie got up in a hurry to answer. “Yes, yes, I will be down in a second.” She hung up the phone and started putting her heels back on.

“Are we going downstairs to pick up the puppy?” You asked, curious to meet her coworker.

“No need, you can wait up here. I will be back in a minute.” She said, closing the door behind her.

After 10 minutes, the door slung open, and a giant golden retriever entered, dragging Sophie in with him. As soon as he saw you and Sophie dropped the leash, he ran and jumped on your lap, covering your whole body and almost suffocating you.

“Well, hello boy, what is your name?” You spoke to him sweetly, petting his head, trying to keep him calm as he tried to lick your face.

“His name is Bjorn. It means bear. He kind of is a bear.” Sophie answered for him, and you giggled as he moved from your lap to the side of the couch so you could finally pet him properly.

“Thank you for not suffocating me, Bjorn, you cutie.”

“I have just been informed that they need me to go into the office tomorrow morning. Will you be okay?” Sophie asked. “Also, I may have found somebody I can set you up with, but I am not 100% sure yet."

"Uhm, interesting; keep me updated.” You winked at her. “This cutie and I will go for a walk in Central Park, and then we can meet you at your office?” You asked without taking your eyes off the furball.

“That’s okay. I’ll meet you there, I’ll bring lunch, and we can eat in the park.”

You had a quick dinner, chitchatted while playing with the pup and then headed to bed. Sophie refused to show you a picture of your possible set-up, letting you know she needed to check some things before it was confirmed. Bjorn decided there was not enough space for the three of you on the bed and slept on the couch instead.

Around 8 in the morning, you woke up hearing the shower in the bathroom turn on. You got out of bed, went into the living room, grabbed Bjorn’s food from the bag the owner had prepared for you two and served him some kibble. He was still half asleep on the couch but jumped up as soon as he heard his food being served.

Sophie got ready and ran around, as stressed as the previous morning. “So plan for today, I go to work, we meet at Central Park, you find us a nice place to sit down and have lunch and tonight we go out for drinks? Saturday night fun?”

“Yes, sure,” you answered while petting Bjorn, who had joined you on the couch after devouring his breakfast.

“Please take care of Bjorn! Love you!” She said, closing the door behind her as last morning.

You made yourself some coffee and a sandwich and then proceeded to sit down on the couch, turning on the news. Tony Stark was being interviewed on his decision to accept Loki Odinson into the Avengers after what he had done in New York. Stark explained how Loki was under the control of Thanos and had now shown loyalty to the protection of earth and the Avengers team.

You did not know how to feel about it. It must be so difficult for the families of the people that died in the attack. Seeing the killer of their loved one free and revamped as a hero. However, if it is true that he was being controlled by Thanos, then he may deserve a second chance. You guessed this was another Winter Soldier situation where villains are not truly villains, and heroes are not true heroes.

After eating, you proceeded to repaint your nails, going for a baby blue. Once they dried, Bjorn started bothering, wanting to go for a walk. So you went into the bathroom, took a shower and changed for the day.

“Okay, okay, cutie, we can go now. You gotta find me a man in the park or a job at the UN, whichever is easier.” You joked, putting his collar on, excited to have some company on today’s walk.

You left the flat and started walking towards Greenwich Village, looking to see a different part of the city. It was a 30-minute walk from the apartment in Chelsea, and you would take the underground to Central Park later to meet with Sophie.

Once you made it to your desired destination, you started to walk down this beautiful wide street. Although a cutie, Bjorn was not the best-behaved dog. He kept on trying to chase pigeons and wanted to play with every dog he saw on the street. Given his insistence and strength, it had gotten increasingly difficult to hold him back. Your whole upper body had started to get sore as you held tightly onto the leash while he pulled.

You took a deep breath as you finally managed to calm him down enough to stop for a second and look around. Almost as if he could feel you finally relax and look away from him, he pulled with all his strength to your side, making you trip. You tried to keep him calm, but he pulled your shoulder, causing you to cry out in pain. He was uniquely strong for a dog, or you were just particularly breakable.

“Ouch, Bjorn! Stop it!” You pulled the leash again, holding it with your opposite hand, getting him to finally sit. You looked up, realising he was trying to jump on a man holding a sandwich between his hands.

“I am so sorry! He is a little too excited to be outside. Your sandwich must smell delicious,” you apologised profusely while trying to stop the pain in your shoulder to no avail.

“No problem. He is a big dog. Did you hurt your shoulder?” The man answered unimpressed, noticing how you were slouching your shoulder.

“Oh no, it is okay. He just pulled harshly. I am sure it is nothing.” You responded, looking down at Bjorn, that was now behaving properly, sitting by your side.

“It looks like it could be dislocated. That is pretty bad. I can call a doctor if you want?” He replied, taking a bite out of his sandwich and breaking off a piece for the hungry dog that had just eaten breakfast.

“Oh no, doctors are super expensive in the U.S. I am fine. I’ll just go home and put some ice on it."

"I am sure he will look at your shoulder for free. Wait, he is just around the corner. Follow me.” He started walking along the street. You did not know whether to follow him. Sophie had told you people may be dangerous in New York, but he seemed pretty normal. You prided yourself on having a good vibe detector, and he seemed nice, a straightforward guy. You started to walk behind him. Bjorn seemed to have understood he had hurt you and was walking at a better speed.

The man in the peculiar clothes stopped in front of 177A Bleecker Street and opened the door screaming, “Strange! We have a situation. Come here. We need your medical assistance.”

What the Hel were they waiting for?

As he sat in his cell, refusing to give the agents he knew were watching him the satisfaction of seeing him pace, Loki was very well aware he was living on borrowed time. After all, he had just led a murderous alien army against one of their largest cities. He had rolled the dice with the Chitari and lost in humiliating fashion. He knew what his punishment was certain to be, no matter what fantasy Thor tried to peddle. He wished they would just get on with it.

He heard her heels clicking along the tiled floor before she came into view. Plastering a superior sneer onto his face, Loki looked up to see a surprisingly youthful, if not exactly young, woman in a navy skirt suit and pale pink blouse approach his glass cage. With a smile she flashed her badge at the pair of guards flanking the door. He could not hear their words, the prison was soundproofed, but it seemed some sort of disagreement was taking place. Much to his amusement it was the soldiers who finally backed down, punching the code to open his cell into the panel. Weapons drawn they escorted the woman into the enclosure where the God was being held.

——

Evelyn barely made it halfway down the hall, before she felt Loki’s large hand engulfing her wrist.

Screw him and his long ass legs.

By now the tears had long escaped her eyes, and she’d be damned if she let him see, lest she annoyed him even more.

“Evelyn! Why in the world are you -”

“ - Can I please…just go?” Her face was stubbornly turned away from his, as she attempted to keep her voice steady. But like he so nicely said a few minutes ago, she was easy to read.

“I will not let you go, especially if you’re crying like this,”

Evelyn shrugged her hand out of his grip, surprising them both, “… I’m fine! Like you said, I’m too damn expressive. I’ll get over it.” She said that, but her voice wavered greatly due to tears.

“Please love, follow me back inside. My words were much harsher than intended…I admit that.”

He stepped closer, but she backed away in turn.

“You..you spoke to me like I was fucking slow. Like a child. How was I supposed to know you hated your sister’s fucking guts!”

Her tears flowed freely now, and Evelyn couldn’t help but feel more ashamed. She was always more sensitive than others, so whenever she was reprimanded, yelled at, or scolded in her younger days, tears would immediately follow.

Unfortunately, those feelings had yet to change.

“Evelyn, you are far from slow, and you are not a child. I.. I am sorry. That was not what I meant to imply.”

Loki wasn’t the warmest person in the first place, so he did not know how to comfort others through regular means, not to mention apologizing.

In fact, Evelyn was probably the first person he’d properly apologized to in years.

Simply because in the past he didn’t give two shits how his blunt, unfiltered words affected others. If they understood his point, that was all that mattered.

But as a consequence, he caused the woman he cared for to cry.

“You said what you said, okay?” Evelyn sniffled, wiping the tears from her eyes, “I’m…I’m just gonna go home. I’ll grade the tests there,” she made her way past him to head back to the office. Loki immediately followed, his voice revealing a hint of frustration, “Please do not be like this,”

“Like what? Childish?” She picked up her bag that was lying on the couch once she reached inside, then gathered the pile of tests neatly into her hands, “I need a folder for these, by the way.”

Loki’s face hardened, “If you’re going to leave without speaking to me properly, then yes, you’re being childish. I apologized for how I phrased my words, but my point still stands.”

“Well… I got your point. But this was what you signed up for. An immature, clumsy mess of a woman. I can’t keep secrets for shit, and I’m easy as hell to read. If you thought I’d be anything else…sorry to disappoint.”

Evelyn looked at him with mustered courage, holding out her hand, “A folder, please? Then I’ll leave.”

She could see the gears practically working inside his head, as he stared at her outstretched hand with narrowed eyes.

It took a moment. And without warning, he reached out to grab her by the wrist.

Since the action was sudden, the tests she held against her chest with her free arm fluttered to the floor.

Loki pulled her against him, as he stared down into her widened, startled eyes,

“Immature and clumsy, you say?”

He laughed mirthlessly, and the sound of it sent a shiver down Evelyn’s spine.

"My darling girl, while I am quite infatuated with you… I will only apologize just once. If you cannot sense my sincerity, then I am at a loss.”

She attempted to pull back against his grip, but his hold remained firm, “I am not a gentle man, especially when I am this peeved. So yes, I spoke as if you were incompetent. And no, I will not do so again.”

Loki brought his other hand up to her cheek, staring into her tear-filled eyes, “Because seeing you cry like this is discomforting. Any other time, I would have revelled to be the cause of it.”

He let her go then. Unsurprisingly, Evelyn backed away immediately. “That’s… that’s a weird ass way to apologize…”

“Is it really? I’ve brought you to tears before, but at the time we both enjoyed the reasons why.”

Evelyn was still hurt and put off, but she could not help the way her face heated at his suggestive words. She cleared her throat, hoping to bring her mind out the gutter, “…Anyway, the reason you’re so pissed is because of that lady, Hela. What’s the whole deal with that?”

At the mention of his sister’s name, a scornful expression quickly appeared on his face, “Must I explain? I was actually starting to forget about that horrid encounter.”

“Considering you hurt my feelings because of her, I think that’s pretty fair.”

Loki sighed in resignation. He did feel regretful, so it was the least he could do.

“Due to past…issues between us, she despises me, and the feeling is mutual. I am not sure why she came here personally after all this time, but I could only assume it was to make my life difficult. Evidently, I was correct.”

“Oh…” Evelyn chewed at her bottom lip, now feeling worried, “ I didn’t know it was like that…she won’t cause us any trouble, right? Like tell anyone about us, or..?”

“Not necessarily. While she’s certainly curious, I doubt she cares that much at the moment to take action. However…seeing her brought back unpleasant memories, and I imparted my agitation upon you,”

Evelyn did not step away this time when he moved toward her, and allowed him to slowly pull her into an embrace, “ I was worried about what she might have done and said to you if she discovered we were together, as she is still quite vengeful. I truly did not mean to patronize you.”

She listened patiently to his reasoning. Evelyn was clueless as to what kind of history the siblings shared, but it must be particularly bad to have affected his mood this much.

“As long as you know. I’m…I’m just really sensitive, and I hate being talked to like that in general. Especially by you.”

“I know, my dear. I will mind my tone in the future,”

He tightened his hold, kissing the top of her head, “How shall I make it up to you?”

Evelyn pulled away from him slowly, putting a smile on her face as she spoke quietly, “Um, I’ll think about it. But I just need some time to myself right now…”

Her heart dropped when his face transformed into a frown. Loki probably thought she was going to stay with him, but she needed space to evaluate how she currently felt. He apologized and she acknowledged that - but a part of her couldn’t help but still feel unsettled.

Loki fixed his expression immediately, his smile mirroring hers in its falsity, “If that is how you feel, then I won’t force you to stay. I will take you home,”

“Uh…actually, I want to walk home this time. It’s a nice evening out, so…”

Evelyn didn’t feel like riding in his car at the moment, especially with the tension currently between them. Aside from that, the fresh air would do good to clear her thoughts.

However, the look Loki gave her right then almost changed her mind.

Evelyn thought he was going to chastise her once more. But instead, Loki closed his eyes as he spoke in a deceptively calm manner,

“I am not entirely comfortable with you walking by yourself… especially since it has gotten late. But so be it,”

Before Evelyn could even breathe a sigh of relief, her professor interjected once more, “ Since that is the case, I will accompany you on your walk home.”

“What?” Her voice was louder than intended, but that was the last thing she expected him to say.

“Well, I mean, don’t you have work to do? And, like, I’ve walked home alone plenty of times, you don’t need to go out of your way…”

“You are my partner now. While I acknowledge your autonomy and independence, I prioritize your safety above all else.”

She became momentarily speechless, her mouth closing and opening as she tried to gather up another excuse, “Well, I mean, we can’t be seen walking together…and stuff. That might be suspicious right? Especially considering the whole thing with your sister…”

“Walking together is not a filthy act. We will be fine,”

Loki turned around to return to his desk, picking up his jacket from the hanger right next to it. He looked at the tests still strewn about on the floor, then back to Evelyn. “We will grade these…exams another time. With much focus. ”

—————————–

“Do you walk this distance every day?” Loki said after a while, as he walked side by side with Evelyn. Well, they were side by side - but she insisted that they remain a reasonable distance apart from each other, despite the fact that they were no longer on campus.

Evelyn blamed it mostly on paranoia, but she was actually just feeling petty. If someone wronged her in any way, she held onto that resentment for at least a day or more. Even if they apologized.

So Loki accompanied her mostly in silence, as he probably sensed she was still feeling a bit bitter. If he thought that was childish, he made no indication that he thought so.

Evelyn jumped a bit, his voice pulling her from her thoughts, “Uhm…yeah. It’s not that bad, just a half an hour walk.”

“..It is no wonder you were always late for classes. Does your sister not drive?”

“She does…but I just like the scenery. And I’m good at speed-walking.”

At her answer, Loki’s brows furrowed.

While the area where Evelyn lived wasn’t all that bad, it wasn’t good either. The streets were covered in litter, with the odd stench here and there as they passed by the shops and delis. The only good aspect he observed was the abundance of trees since there was a park in the vicinity.

Loki frankly thought it was filthy, but he kept that bit to himself.

“It is…nice. I suppose.”

Evelyn didn’t seem to notice his disdain and only smiled faintly at his answer, “I mean, it could be better. But I try to enjoy the little beauty in things, Y’know?”

Loki remained quiet as she said so, his expression thoughtful at her words.

The rest of the walk continued in silence, and Evelyn only piped up once more when she saw that they reached her apartment.

“Well, we’re here…” Evelyn stopped in front of the staircase leading up to the building, turning to face him. The air between them wasn’t all that pleasant still, judging from his stiff posture.

There was an awkward silence between them now as they stared at each other, neither unsure of what to do next.

Did she kiss him goodbye now? No, she still felt off. Then a small hug?

While she pondered her options, Evelyn didn’t see that her sister had exited the building, humming a tune as she did so.

Candice stopped right in her tracks once she saw the pair below the stairs.

“Uhh…Eve?”

Both Loki and Evelyn’s gazes shot up towards the stairs instantly at the sound of her voice.

“Wait…is this…?” Candice’s finger pointed to Loki, as she looked down at them in astonishment.

Evelyn was frozen, whilst Loki’s expression was rather hard to decipher.

“Is this professor Laufeyson?!” Candice shot down the steps in record time, her body radiating with excitement.

“I…um, yeah..?” Evelyn replied awkwardly, still shaken by Candice’s unexpected intrusion.

Candice didn’t seem to read the awkwardness in the air though, judging by her next words, “Holy crap, so it is? Well damn, he’s even finer in person -“

Before Evelyn could reply in aghast and embarrassment at her sister’s bold words, Loki piped up with confidence, unperturbed. “Candice, correct?” Loki held out his hand for a handshake, which she stared at for a moment before taking it, “ Your sister speaks much about you.”

“Oh does she now?” She quirked a brow in question in Evelyn’s direction, before looking back to Loki, “Well, I hope it was all good! She tells me a lot about you too, Mr. Laufeyson.”

“Then I assume Evelyn informed you about us? And please, just Loki is fine.”

Evelyn stood in silence, observing the two as she marinated in nervousness. The tension between her and Loki was already off as is with what happened, and she hoped Candice didn’t worsen it with her choice of words.

“Yeah, I know y’all seeing each other. Wanna come inside actually? I just made some dinner and you can join us. I wanna know more about how y’all met-”

Evelyn’s head whipped towards Candice. What now?

She interjected immediately in alarm at her sister’s chatter, “ I - Candice, hold up would you! Loki’s busy and he has to walk back, you can’t just -“

“If you would have me, then I shall join you.”  He looked towards Evelyn, her mouth still open after stopping mid-sentence, “ That is, if Evelyn is fine with that.”

“Of course she is! Right, Evie?”

Both of them turned to look at her for a response, and she couldn’t help but feel pressured. “I - of course I don’t mind… but weren’t you just about to leave Candice? And Loki…you don’t have to feel obligated to stay or anything,”

“I was just gonna take a lil jog. But nope, changed my mind!”

“I want to stay not out of obligation but to spend more time with you. This is far from bothersome.”

They spoke one after another, backing her into a corner. She had no good reason to argue, so Evelyn couldn’t help but eventually relent.

“I…okay. If it isn’t any trouble to you…”

“Let’s head inside then! I hope you like curry chicken Loki cause that’s all I made,”

“That sounds absolutely delightful,”

And so, Evelyn followed behind them helplessly as they trudged up the steps to her apartment, uncertainty piling inside her gut.

A/N:  Sorry for the delay, still in the midst of final projects. Motivation to complete work/writing has been a bit slow, and I’ve been trying to think up new plot points. I’ve been stuck, lol. Anyway, enjoy!

—————————-

Evelyn should’ve expected this, but she had no idea that she would be thissore.

After the shower, they both became somewhat insatiable. It was as though Loki couldn’t get enough of her, and she of him. The taboo of their relationship spurred on their lust, the need to be connected to each other in every way possible great. So like he had promised, he fucked her into the late hours of the night.

While she was grateful that her first time was far from terrible…she made a mental note to learn her limits. She thought the idea of getting fucked silly by the man she pined for would be a dream come true - but the effects on her body afterwards was kind of a bitch.

Evelyn hopped and limped all the way to Loki’s car when they left his house early in the morning, wincing with every step. She attributed the amount of pain she was in due to the fact that she was simply not used to sex, and her professor’s size was considerable.

Perhaps the more they did it, the less pain there would be overtime?

Just the thought of a ‘next time’ in Loki’s bed was enough to set off another wave of butterflies inside her stomach. Whatever pain she was in right now, it was worth it.

Loki, however, had long noticed Evelyn’s plight - in fact, he even had the gall to tease her about it, offering to carry her up the steps to her door like a princess once they reached her apartment.

He sounded pretty serious about it too, so Evelyn couldn’t help but blush even though she knew he was just messing around. It was going to be a challenge getting used to his playful side…

Evelyn promised him that she’d stop by his office later on in the day, to resume her duties as his TA. Since she wouldn’t be able to attend the Monday lecture to help out this time around for obvious reasons, the least she could do was grade some exams.

She dreaded grading, especially since it was math( another reason why she skipped meetings in the beginning…) but now that the dynamic between her and Loki has changed considerably, she was actually looking forward to being productive in his presence.

They parted with a kiss, and Evelyn made her way to her apartment door slowly. Now, she just had to try to walk inside like there wasn’t a stick up her ass.

To Evelyn’s surprise and dismay, Candice was waiting for her on the couch, a cup of hot cocoa in hand as she watched her hop through the front door.

Evelyn was secretly banking on the fact that she had left for work already, since Candice mentioned offhandedly that she took up more shifts at her hospital.

But alas, the shit-eating grin that was plastered on Candice’s face meant that she must’ve called in sick to witness Evelyn’s limp of shame, first thing.

“Well! I’ll be damned,”

Evelyn stubbornly ignored her in embarrassment as she limped past the couch to head to her room, but Candice set down her mug to follow her, giggling like a fool, “He busted that cherry so hard he got you hoppin’ like a bunny! Sheesh…”

“Not now, Candice…” Her face felt hot, desperately wishing her sister had some sort of filter.

“Did y'all use a rubber? Did he hurt you? Because if he hurt you Eve -”

Candice was going to badger her until all was answered, so Evelyn relented with a grimace, hoping she would leave her alone after she was satisfied,

“ No! He didn’t hurt me…and yes, we used protection. Each time.”

“Each ti- each time?! How many times did y’all fu- ”

Evelyn cut her off before she could finish, “I’ll answer all the juicy deets later, okay!? I didn’t have time to shower before we left, and I wanna do that now. Please?”

Candice realized she was being a bit overbearing, backing off a bit. Evelyn was extremely fun to tease and make fun off, but she knew her sister had limits,

“Sorry, sorry. My baby sister never seemed the type to be interested in sex or anything before…so to do it with a professor of all people for your first time! And a kinky one! Don’t blame me for being interested and concerned…”

Evelyn ignored the kinky comment, limping inside her room as she replied, “I mean, is the professor thing really that big a deal? I’m technically just a former student of his…”

“Not really, you already know how my hoe phase was. Fucked a few teachers in my college days. But you have to be careful with these older men Eve, since you’re new to this sort of thing. Don’t get attached. Especially if his dick game’s good, he will manipulate the hell outta you,”

“…Speaking from experience?”

“Yep. Found out this guy was a whole married man and I still went back to fuck. Good dick messes with your morals sis,”

Evelyn had a hard time taking her words seriously since Candice lacked morals in the first place, but pretended to agree so she could leave her be,

“I’ll make sure to be careful, okay? Can I shower now?”

“Yeah yeah, we’ll talk more later. Remember what I said, hmm?”

And with that, Candice left her room with a skip to her step.

Evelyn didn’t bother processing her sister’s warning, going straight to the shower to relieve her sore muscles.

——————————–

By the time Evelyn made her way unto the campus, the pain had lessened considerably. She still had to walk a bit carefully, but she didn’t feel as raw as before. While she showered, she also noticed bruises alongside her hip and waist - she even had to use more than a bit of makeup to cover the new ones Loki had ‘affectionately’ placed in plain sight on her neck.

She was especially hard to bruise, so she was baffled at the amount she currently had.

Evelyn thought that she should at least feel miffed about it, but somehow the thought of being marked as his, in any way, sent a thrill through her being. Even when he was rough at some points…

I had sex just once and I’m already a deviant…hehe.

Evelyn was quite busy daydreaming about the naughty events from last night, that she didn’t see the tall figure standing in her way as she headed towards Loki’s office.

‘Oof!’

As expected, she collided straight into the person’s side, yelping in the process.

“Oh shit - I’m sorry, I wasn’t paying attention…”

She looked up apologetically at the woman in front of her - lithe and pale, with narrowed blue eyes that accentuated her intimidating presence.

Perhaps because she also had dark hair and sharp facial features, she saw a vague resemblance to Loki.

“Obviously, you weren’t,” the woman replied curtly, before giving a tight smile,

“But, I’ll forgive you if you were to lend some assistance.”

Her tone carried a sort of cold arrogance, as Evelyn shrunk underneath her stare. She even had Loki’s accent…

“Uh…of course! How can I help…?” Although she was in a bit of a rush to get to where she needed to be, she did not want the woman in front of her to be any more pissed off than she already seemed to look.

She showed Evelyn a map of the campus that was in her hands, pointing at the building she wanted to head to, “This map is much too complicated for me, and I’m trying to look for this building. I need to find someone, and this is where his office is apparently.”

“Oh, I’m actually heading there!” Evelyn was glad that the woman pointed towards the science department - the campus was fairly large, and she barely knew half of the map. “If you don’t mind me asking, who’re you trying to find? I can show you to them directly…”

She didn’t have to go the extra mile, merely walk with her to the building. But Evelyn had always been a people pleaser.

“Ah, I’m looking for my brother. Are you a student of his, perhaps? I do know that he teaches here…Loki Odinson. Or Laufeyson, whatever he wants to go by nowadays.”

“Brother? You’re Loki’s sister?” Evelyn asked in a surprised tone, voice elevated. He did mention he two had siblings during their date, but he never went into detail about anything.

The woman looked at her oddly, a small chuckle leaving her lips, “Well, you certainly sound quite familiar with him.”

Evelyn realized her mistake, hastily rushing to fix it. Loki was fine with Candice knowing everything, but she still wasn’t sure about his side of the family.

“Oh, about that…I usually just call all the professors by their names, haha…”

“My brother really dislikes being referred to in an informal manner, so I find the idea of him allowing that unlikely.”

“…..”

Evelyn was momentarily speechless, akin to a deer in headlights.

“Uhm, you see, I -“

“No need to explain,” the woman stepped closer, a bit too close for comfort as she scrutinized Evelyn’s face, “You’re his exact type, you know. Short, timid, pretty. He’s probably quite taken with you…”

As she looked her up and down, a spark of realization lit her eyes..

“Miss…you’re stepping out of line here.”

She was assuming way too much, for just a minor slip up. And who spoke like this to someone they just met?

“Oh, It’s just harmless teasing,” she stepped back, her smile starting to look a lot more natural.

She pulled out her hand for a handshake, “ Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Hela. Hela Odinson. And you?”

Evelyn gave a momentary look of reluctance before accepting the handshake, “Uhm, Evelyn Monroe. Nice to meet you, I guess?”

Hela’s smile became broader, “Let’s walk and talk, hmm?”

Evelyn was very uncomfortable, but started to walk regardless.

As they made their way towards Loki’s office, Hela, surprisingly, insisted on making small talk. Evelyn pegged her for the cold and silent type like her brother, but she was entirely the opposite. She asked general questions about what Evelyn did, her age, etc. But unfortunately, she also kept asking suggestive questions, hoping for another slip up on her end.

“I haven’t spoken to my brother in a while, so I’m clueless as to how he’s doing. Does he treat you well, Evelyn?”

Hela began adopting a familiar and warmer tone, softening Evelyn’s first impression. It succeeded in lulling her into a sense of minor comfort, “Oh, he treats me very well. I mean, he’s pretty nice to all of his students, most times…”

“Hm, that’s surprising. His personality is treacherous, so I expected the opposite.”

Evelyn looked at her quizzically. For his sister, she sure spoke like she disliked him to a large degree.

“Since I like you, I’ll give you a bit of advice,”

Hela turned to look at her then, meeting her eyes,

“Don’t get too attached to a man like Loki, especially if he thinks you’re a temporary plaything. He gets… annoyed, quite easily. You weren’t the only one he happened to fancy so much in the past…so I’d know.”

….?!??

“Excuse me, but what -“ Evelyn started, but then the dark, pissed off voice of her professor sounded from behind them.

Hela,”

His face was pulled into a tight scowl, trained directly at his sister, “ What nonsense are you spewing?”

Loki appeared behind them suddenly out of thin air, startling the wits out of Evelyn. Before she could ponder the possibility that he had magical powers, she realized they just passed the lecture hall where his class was, on the way to his office.

“I took time out of my busy schedule to see you, dear brother…one would think you’d sound a bit more affectionate. Hasn’t it been a year since we last spoke?”

“Slither back to whatever hell you came from, woman.”

“Well, I suppose that’s close enough.”

Evelyn looked back and forth between the two, the tension thick and uncomfortable. They were in the middle of the hallway and students still wandered about, so she decided to make an exit. She wanted no part in whatever mystery family drama that was unfolding…and she needed time to ponder over Hela’s words.

I’ll ask just him about this later…

“So…um. I’m gonna go ahead to the office, okay? Grade those papers…yippee…”

She added awkwardly, slowly backing away.

Loki looked at her then. She hoped his face would soften a bit, but it didn’t.

“I’ll be there shortly. This won’t take long.”

His answers were short and clipped, so she knew he was pissed.

She didn’t do anything wrong to her knowledge, so she blamed his mood all on his sister.

Before Evelyn left, Hela addressed her one last time.

“It was lovely meeting you, sweetheart. I’m sure we’ll see each other again…”

“Oh. Uhm, yeah. Nice meeting you too…”

Evelyn didn’t waste anymore time, leaving the pair once she saw Loki’s worsening expression.

———————

Hela’s words from before repeated inside her head, filling her with a sense of paranoia. But, she had no reason to be paranoid, right? Loki said they were exclusive, after all. He said he wanted her to be his woman. No, she was his woman. And he made sure of that last night.

Evelyn stubbornly pushed her anxieties aside into the far crevice of her mind, reassuring herself with his words. Although Hela was his sister, she and Loki clearly weren’t on good terms. She could’ve said that in order to sabotage their suspected relationship.

God, this is giving me a damn headache…

She settled in Loki’s office, taking the stack of exams from his desk and got comfortable on the couch. She hoped grading and correcting complicated equations would fry her brain enough to stop the fretting, as she waited for him to come.

Loki appeared after about fifteen minutes, and Evelyn bolted upright once she heard him enter.

“Oh, Loki! I went ahead and started…”

She paused mid sentence when she saw his expression.

“…Grading…”

Why did it feel like she was in some sort of trouble? The heck?

His face didn’t change much from when he spoke to Hela, so it made her nervous.

Evelyn just opted to stay quiet for now. She’d ask about Hela later once he looked a little less pissed off. She was his girlfriend now, but she still felt his authoritative presence especially when they were on campus.

Well, she was going to stay quiet, until his deep voice resounded inside the room.

“I’m curious about something, Evelyn.”

Uh oh. Why’s he using that voice?

“How did that…woman, know that we were involved with each other?”

“Uh…woman? I mean, I thought she said she was your sister…?”

“That isn’t the answer to my question.”

Inwardly, Evelyn felt whiplashed. Everything was so dandy this morning and last night…so how did things take such a strange turn so quickly?

“Look, when she told me she was your sister, I said your first name on impulse. That’s literally it! She assumed stuff based on that one thing…”

Evelyn put the papers on her lap to the side, feeling frustrated, “And…it really isn’t that big a deal, right? You said that people outside the school could know. You were fine with Candice knowing, so why not -”

He cut her off before she could finish,

“Darling, let me say this in a way that you can comprehend,"

In…in a way that I can comprehendddd? Did he just call me stupid eloquently?

Evelyn was stunned into silence as Loki spoke, and he moved to stand above her as she sat rigidly on the couch. "Such a simple mistake, regardless of who it was, is monumental. Your words weren’t what gave you away, Evelyn. But your body language. You’re entirely too expressive for your own good,”

He sighed a disappointed sigh, moving away to pinch the bridge of his nose, “At any rate, I can live with Hela knowing…but for future reference, avoid her. At all costs.”

Loki looked at her then, eyes stern, “Do you understand what I’m saying? Or should I elaborate further?”

Evelyn was honestly a bit speechless. She felt extremely put off and mildly hurt… that he spoke to her like she was a child, rather than his lover.

She really hated herself right now. Was she actually about to cry? He would seriously think she was childish, if this was how she was going to react.

Tears wouldn’t do her any favors, especially once he was in this kind of mood anyway.

Why am I so fucking sensitive?!

She sighed shakily, swallowing the knot in her throat as she replied, “Yeah…I got it.”

“Good, then."

He moved casually to sit behind his desk, attempting to soften his tone with his next words, "You can work for maybe half an hour, then I’d like to treat you to dinner. Seeing that woman left an unpleasant taste… but spending more time with you should remedy that.”

She didn’t reply, and only stared at the floor.

“… Evelyn?”

When she glanced up, he saw that her large, hazel eyes were shimmering with unshed tears.

”I’m… I’m going to use the restroom, okay? I’ll be back,”

She got up quickly. And before he could properly react, she promptly went to exit the room.

—————————-

Lita could no longer feel her arms or legs.

Hours had passed since she stumbled into the house, lost and broken. It took tremendous effort just to remove her jacket wet from the rain, moving sluggishly to the large window inside their bedroom. She slumped downward slowly, perching on its edge.

How much time went by, she was unsure. Three hours? Five, perhaps? Judging from the darkening skies, she surmised that it’s been a while. She was starving, but no matter how hard she tried to move her limbs, her gaze remained transfixed to the streets below.

She hated it, the feeling of helplessness. The deafening silence and darkness of the room. It engulfed her, helping the horrid memories that she encountered hours before to replay inside her mind’s eye like a broken, filthy record.

Loki, her beautiful husband, making love to a woman that was not her.

Lita didn’t think she’d ever forget the way he gripped the flesh of the woman’s backside, his wedding ring glinting cruelly against her irises as he aided his lover into riding him. Was she so insignificant, a fleeting thought, that he didn’t even bother to remove it?

Her limbs tightened further at the thought. She wanted to cry and scream, do anything but just stare blankly into space. But her body refused to listen, as if it was turned to stone. Besides that, she was supposed to pick up their son. The daycare must be worried sick.

Perhaps…she was the problem. Surely she was. The burden of her growing sadness since the passing of her sister was too much for him to bear, so he needed a release.

She was always a helpless burden, when was she never? She was so surprised when he got down on his knees to propose to her, all those years ago. Someone so perfect, so good looking, treating a plain woman like herself with so much adoration she did not deserve.

Lita’s sex drive wasn’t particularly high, but she attempted to please him in whatever way she could. She loved him, so whenever they were intimate, she loved it as well. It was passionate, searing, and wonderful.

Eventually, they gave birth to a child. Loki loved the fact that their son had her eyes. He stated it made him all the more beautiful. That he couldn’t wait to have plenty more.

But judging from what she’d seen, his appetite was much larger, much darker than whatever she could offer.

Lita sourly regretted going to his office. She should’ve stayed home, to work on her manuscript. Then she would head out to the daycare, and watch her cute little son play for a bit. Live in her ignorant bubble. But no, she just had to make him lunch, didn’t she?

She never did something like that before in the years they’d been together because she was always busy, so she wanted to surprise him with something special. Lita had an inkling she’d been neglectful to his feelings for a while now, what with the stress of deadlines for her novel and her sick sister.

Janet, Lita’s now-deceased sister, was her only family left. So Loki was especially sympathetic. He didn’t even give an indication that her changing moods distressed him, reassuring her with the same glowing smile and attentiveness each and every time she felt low. And goodness were those times horrible. Even before she met Loki, she would have periods of overbearing sadness. It would hit her like a freight train. Unexpected, unsuspecting. She wouldn’t even wish it on her worst enemy.

So like the good wife she was, she decided to bring him lunch in order to show some appreciation. Loki loved her cooking, after all.

She should’ve found it strange when the secretary that was usually seated at the desk was nowhere to be found. She’d frequented his workplace in the past, and Loki kept his employees on a strict timetable. The tall, pretty woman should’ve been at the desk, her lunch break not for another half hour.

But Lita brushed it off. Whatever emergency that woman had was none of her business. Or so she thought.

It was like a blade had slashed her heart when she heard the sounds coming from her husband’s office.  She stepped closer to the source of the sound, heart hammering. The door was left ajar.

“Sir, please…I’m yours,”

“Then ride me like the good girl I know you are. Then maybe, I’ll let you cum this time.”

“Yes… yes, please! I love it, I love your cock,”

“So fucking tight…”

Lita could’ve sworn she almost fainted right then and there.

She stumbled backward as if the wind had been knocked out of her by an invisible force.

The food she took time to prepare fell to the floor, the contents spilling from the box with a loud thump. But even with that, the pair within the room was absorbed in their own world, unhearing.

Her legs felt like lead. She made her way slowly towards the elevator, clicking the button to return to the ground floor.

From that moment onward, it was as if she was in a trance. The greetings from the employees that knew her fell on deaf ears as she made her exit, her movements slow and painful. She wanted to run, get away as fast as possible, but it was like walking against the unrelenting waves of the ocean.

Lita reached home eventually…and from that moment on, her body became a part of the windowsill.

Loki, and hopefully their son, should be home any minute now. Lita dreaded to see him. To see him smile, as if nothing was wrong. His touch. She’d much rather disappear.

Unfortunately, she was right. Lita heard the tell-tale beeping of the security code being entered, as heavy footsteps eventually came into earshot.

————————————————————

As soon as his meeting ended, Loki rushed out in a panic. Everyone in the meeting room could tell he was anxious for whatever reason, and he confirmed their suspicions when the normally calm, stoic boss was out the door in seconds, ending the meeting early.

He received a troubling call that his wife had yet to pick up their son. It made the knot in his throat worsen.

His anxiety began when his secretary - Clara, if he could recall her name correctly - made a strange inquiry as soon as she left his office, skirt ruffled from their weekly tryst.

Loki wasn’t sure when it started. Lita was a wonderful, beautiful woman. He loved her to hell and back, and that love only grew in their years together. She was passionate whenever they made love, and a caring mother to their son, a child he loved dearly. However…there were certain limits that she made clear she wouldn’t and couldn’t surpass, whether it was sexual or otherwise.

He never once blamed her, or judged her for it. Loki understood from the moment he fell for her, that some of his wants would never be fulfilled. He thought he could manage, that the love he had for her would be enough to curb his darker desires. But apparently, he was wrong.

Clara was like a flame, and he was the moth. Whatever Lita refused to do, Clara did it without hesitation. Did he love her? No, but she was addicting. Thrilling. Once the rush was there, it was hard to let go - despite the guilt that slowly ate away at his heart.

And that slow, burgeoning guilt and paranoia raised its head once more whenever Clara left his office.

“Huh? What is this?!”

He heard Clara’s startled voice from the door, and he made his way to her to see what was wrong.

Food was spilled all over the carpeted floor, the ornate box that housed its contents tipped to the side.

Loki’s heart plummeted. He recognized that lunchbox.

“Who would just come here and spill food all over?! Don’t worry sir, I’ll call the janitor-“

“Leave it.” His eyes were transfixed to the box, panic slowly overtaking his body. “…Oh? But-“

“Clara,”

He nearly hissed, his eyes cold and unfriendly, “ You have somewhere to be, do you not?”

Clara’s eyes widened at his tone, entirely different from the man she was with moments prior. She hurriedly scurried away when his expression grew more severe.

Loki was alone now, and he stared at the box. Perhaps it was a coincidence? The box wasn’t particularly unique, so surely it belonged to someone else. Lita had no reason to come all the way out to his building, especially when she was already so stressed. But the contents…they were all his favorite things to eat.

He took out the phone that was in his suit pocket, his hands trembling as he dialed Lita’s number.

Her soothing voice immediately entered his ears, meaning it had gone to voicemail.

Loki tried several more times, and the result was the same. This wasn’t an odd occurrence, actually. Whenever she concentrated on writing, she was practically deaf to the world. But this still unnerved him.

That was all he thought about as he begrudgingly went to his meeting. He could hardly focus as his employees spoke, running through all the possibilities as to why that lunch box was there. Did Lita ask someone to bring it up for her, and they were clumsy enough to spill it? Surely she would’ve cried and screamed at him, confronted him about his unfaithfulness if she came herself. Just imagining that scene tore at his heart.

His thoughts came to an abrupt end when his cell-phone interrupted the chatter in the room, and he hurriedly checked it. Was it Lita..?

No. Instead, it was the daycare company that took care of their son while they both worked. If they were calling him at this time, something must be wrong. He signaled for the people in the room to hush as he picked up the call.

“Hello, is this Mr. Laufeyson speaking?”

“…Yes, this is he.”

“Your wife was supposed to come for Uri over an hour ago, and she’s not answering our calls. Is it possible for you to pick him up at this time?”

And that was when he ended the meeting abruptly, rushing out the door.

He hurried home after picking up his son, Uri babbling nonsense in his safety seat at the back of the car. This was so unlike Lita, to leave their son for a prolonged period of time.

There was something wrong, and he hoped dearly that it wasn’t the reason he feared.

Star-Crossed.

A Second Chance - Part 2

Welp, guess I am going to make this a three parter. The third part will be the last part, I swear!

Summary: You didn’t really like Loki, but you lost your memories and Loki takes advantage of the situation by pretending to be your boyfriend. What could go wrong?

Warnings: Some smut if you squint. Also didn’t proof read this cuz I’m le tired. Sorry.

Words: ~ 3k

Part one on my master list.

You furrowed your brows at the man in front of you, who apparently was named Loki and was your boyfriend. None of this looked familiar, but something about him being so close to you felt…weird, but also right. You believed every word he said. Loki, or so he calls himself, was rubbing his thumb over your hand and you were thankful that you weren’t here in this hospital bed alone.

“I’m sorry that I don’t remember you.” You continued to look down at your joined hands and you genuinely did feel bad. How horrible must it be for him for his lover to forget who he was? You said so out loud and he gave your hand a gentle squeeze.

“It’s okay, Darling. I am not upset. I am just glad you are okay.” His eyes were glassy, and he looked at you. The love and affection were apparent in his eyes, and you felt obligated to give him a little smile.

“How long have we been together?” It was an innocent question, but Loki seemed thrown off by it. Thankfully, the God of Mischief was good at thinking on his feet.

“It’s relatively new,” He cleared his throat awkwardly, “but we are very happy.” He looked so stiff, but you just assumed it was because his girlfriend forgot who he was and the stress of that.

You laughed and that seemed to perk him up a bit, “I will take your word on it.”

Your Savior - Chp 5

Summary: You train with Natasha, and you find out something new about yourself. Loki’s protectiveness gets a bit…much and frankly, it pisses you off.

Warnings: Swearing. Smut 18+

Words: ~3800

Other chapters on my master list.

Never in all the years of your life, did you think you would be in a training room with none other than Black Widow. The training room in the Avenger’s Tower was empty, outside of you, Natasha, and Loki who brooded in the corner, keeping a watchful eye on you. You had to give Natasha credit, not only was she deadly, but she was an amazing teacher. There were whispers amongst the team about her brutality during her training sessions, but today with you, you saw someone who was patient, and efficient in her teaching techniques.

But she was also relentless. With each failure, she would tell you to get back up and try again. Your body was still frail from the torture and starvation you endured, and you could feel the weakness in your bones midway through your training session. There was one defense move you were trying to get down, but you just weren’t getting it. The bear hug defense move. Everything she was teaching you was very basic, but you were struggling, and it was frustrating you beyond belief. Every time you tried to escape the petite assassin’s grasp, it reminded you of how weak you were. How helpless you felt in your cell.

Tears started to well in your eyes as your heart hammered in your chest, giving way to a tidal wave of anxiety. Before the first pathetic hiccup left your lips, Loki was already up and making his way across the room to you.

“That is enough, Romanoff. She’s done for the day.” He growled. He hated seeing you upset, and he was already struggling containing himself. Every time he saw you crash on the mat or struggle against Natasha’s hold had his blood boiling. Frankly, he didn’t even want you there. It was his job to protect you. If you had him, what else did you need? Yet, he remembered what Tony had said. That there would be times he wouldn’t be around to protect you due to his ‘obligations’ to the Avengers, just to stay out of Asgardian prison. The fact that his choices, the mind control he endured led him down a path where he couldn’t be with you or protect you, made him hate himself even more.

“No, Loki. She’s fine.” Natasha had let go of you and turned you around to face her. Tears were brimming at the corner of your eyes, but thankfully they had yet to spill over. Though, that last thread of stubborn dignity was threatening to snap.

You had always been close with Loki. Honestly, you’d always been close with everyone. You just weren’t the kind of person that people disliked. So naturally, Loki was drawn to you.

But slowly, you’d become more than friends. Not dating. But… not friends either.

If you wanted anything, you got it. Loki’s wallet seemed to be bottomless, and he liked to show you that. And eventually, the team started to figure things out.

It started small. You’d bounce into the kitchen while Loki was reading the newspaper and show him something on your tablet. Without another word, he pulls out his wallet and hand over his shiny black credit card, making you squeal and bounce back away.

The Rules of Midgardian Dating - GN One Shot

Summary: Loki asks you to court him, but you say no. He literally has no idea who you are! So he takes to Rom Coms to learn how to properly date a mortal.

Warnings: Some violence. Pretty fluffy, crack fic.

Words: ~5k

“I was wondering if you would do me the honor of courting me?”

“I beg your pardon?!”

Loki, the God of Mischief himself, just asked to court you. Court you! This was the last thing you were expecting on your normal Tuesday afternoon. You are the prize administrator for the Avengers, an average human who goes above and beyond for a rag tag group of above average humans, and non-humans alike. The relentless paperwork was the bane of your existence and made you want to claw your eyes out for some relief, but overall, you loved your job. And boy, did they appreciate you. If anyone hated boring paperwork, it was Tony Stark, so he made sure to express his thankfulness and your attention to detail every time he laid eyes on you. Your hours and pay are great, vacation days were plentiful, and while you technically worked for Tony and the Avengers, you considered them your friends.

So, when Loki joined the group, albeit very reluctantly, you expressed the same friendliness you gave the rest of the team. On the very first day he moved into the Tower, his brother Thor at his side, you greeted him with a wide, sweet smile and offered him your hand to shake. The god just looked at it, scoffed, and walked away. The interactions between the two of you did not change much from that day. Loki would never look you in the eye. Instead, he only offered side glances and whenever you asked him a question, usually pertaining to work, his response was either a grunt or a couple of words if he was feeling particularly generous.

The message was clear. You were lower than the dirt on his boots.

But there he stood, shuffling in those very boots, and still avoiding eye contact with you as if you were Medusa. The faint pink tint to his cheeks was endearing, you did admit to yourself. But as you looked at him, you started to feel one thing: irritation. He literally knows nothing about you, never engaged in meaningful conversation with you, and frankly sometimes made your job much more difficult than it needed to be due to his aloofness and he expected you to say yes to his courtship?

Okay, yes, he was the most handsome man you ever laid eyes on. Yes, he was a freakin’ prince and a God and an Avenger. But did he really expect that to be enough? The privilege was real.

The Apsara’s Curse: Chapter 2

[Co-Authored with @emeraldrosequartz]

Rating: 18+ (there be lots of citrus here).

Warnings: None

Pairing: Loki/Original Female Character (POC)

Summary: Loki meets a mysterious woman in the forests of Asgard. She’s a trespasser, and he feels a strange pull towards her. Their interaction unveils her dangerous powers, leaving him stunned, curious and wanting more. Will he be able to uncover the truth about her nature, or will he burn his hands in the flames of an ancient curse?

IMPORTANT NOTE: This fic features a lot of Hindu-Vedic religious themes, as is hinted in its title. Worry not, nothing offensive in here. Or at least… nothing that hasn’t been already written in the various religious texts of the old. (I, Latent, am a Hindu myself, and it was my idea to insert these themes into the story. TL;DR: I know what I’m doing. heh)

—–

“The truth is something that we shouldn’t care for. At least, not now. I mean no harm, Loki, your realm is of little interest to me. I’m more interested in you.”

“Is that so?” He chuckled against her lips, inhaling her breath, her naked skin against his body almost too alluring to resist. It felt like the smoothest satin…

“You” I spoke silently.

His eyes were blue, as deep as the ocean itself. His skin was of a clean alabaster tone, unmarked, not a scar or blemish in sight. The black hair that hung down to brush his shoulders gleamed in the sunlight that shone behind him, as did the armor he wore.

His body was slim and he didn’t seem to be very strong, though judging from his posture and body language, he seemed to have an air of superiority, so he seemed threatening, but not necessarily strong.

“Do I know you?” he asked me, he seemed angry about something, “No, who are you?” he seemed very familiar, “Who else? You have the prince of Asgard before you, mortal” my silence made him rephrase, “Loki, god of mischief” oh, now I see why.

“Oh, cool, where can I find the others?” he widen his eyes, looking at me weirdly, “Four floors up, I’m coming there myself” I nodded, watching him coming in. I was absolutely right, he seemed like a bad person, however, not a bad man at heart.

“What?” I was staring and he noticed, shit! “Nothing, in your file you seemed with more muscle” he scoffed, “Did it looked blonde, in the picture?” I told him no, “Disappointed?” he leaned against the opposite wall, smirking, yet I knew he was hiding some insecurity.

“Not really” he seemed…surprised? But only for a moment. When the elevator’s bell chimed before the door opened, he shifted his body and vision straight into what it seemed to be a lounge.

The place was enormous, I had never seen a place that big, well, the stadium, but I mean like an apartment that huge.

“Ah, Reindeer Games, and…who are you girl? Thor will love this, Point Break! You brother finally has a girlfriend!” That was Tony Stark in all his nature, almost literally, he was just wearing a robe and he looked like he was just ran over.

“Brother!” A blonde buff man made himself present, holding a beer in his hand and a remote control in another, “Who’s this? A friend of yours?” Contrary to Stark’s tone, Thor seemed hopeful, not taking my presence as a way to mock the person beside me.

“Mister Odinson, I presume” the blonde nodded, a smile painted in his face, “Pleasure to meet you, may you be so kind to indicate where that son of a bitch, Fury, is at this moment?” I felt Loki’s stare, I turned to look at his amused expression before returning to the blonde prince, slightly annoyed for some reason.

“You should watch that mouth miss, what would your mother say?” His fucking one-eyed face appeared and I moved away from Loki. I sprinted and made myself very tiny, then grew again to hit Fury right under his chin, knocking him down to the floor.

“Speak Nicholas” I placed my heel right up in his chest, adding pressure so he wouldn’t dare to move, “Great punch, how about we gather everyone and then I’ll tell you everything?” Negotiating with me in that state would’ve been futile, but I was in no mood of a further drama, so with a sigh and a heavy groan I stepped away and allowed Tony to help Fury get up.

“How- how did you do that?” Thor rambled, dragging all his words, “I just can” my indifference felt cold in my mouth, he was just drunk and he really didn’t asked a prying question, “I really don’t know much about it, so like I said, I just can” his smile after I softened my tone made me feel better somehow.

I spent ten minutes waiting for the Avengers to gather in the room, along with Nick, the only sound echoing in the meeting room was my foot tapping the floor.

“Is it really necessary to have them all here? Can’t we just mail them the info?” I was growing out of patience, and fast.

“You will be on a team, you must include the team, you’re not going to do this alone Y/n” he paced.

“Why not? They’re gonna slow me down, and besides, you’ll be sending them to their deaths!” Slamming the table did no good, he was annoyed, he doesn’t bend the arm when he’s like that.

“They defeated Thanos” and yet he spoke as serenely as he could, I didn’t held back on what I thought, one of the reasons I was fired quit SHIELD.

“Who you think made the Black Order, dipshit? Those warriors that fought for Thanos that almost got Maximoff and The Vision killed?” I put emphasis on Vision. Those warriors were the very elite of killers, courtesy of that monster.

“And you think you have more chance to defeat him on your own?!” His booming voice made me flinch in my seat, he then pinched his nose in annoyance and walked towards me and held my hand, “I know you have a problem with heroes, but give them a chance, you’ll be free of your burden soon enough”.

That’s what I wanted, to finally get rid of all that weight that has been making me take the wrong choices, his death will be my ticket to an endless relaxation..at last.

But…

“If you knew as well as you say, you wouldn’t force me to work with them”.

I don’t work with “heroes”.

The next thirty minutes were mainly Captain America explaining why I was there to begin with, not because it was a big story or anything, but because they wouldn’t shut up! It was a disaster.

“Okay, ENOUGH!” My voice made them turn to look at me, the only not surprised for my outburst was Fury, I think he saw it comming.

“YOU DON’T GET IT! We’re dealing with a mastermind in genetics and neuroscience, this son of a bitch can bring people form the fucking dead! Doctor Jasper Rosario is a fucking genius, he makes everyone look like a retarded baby, so to speak. He’s dangerous, vicious, he doesn’t feel empathy, and won’t stop at anything to get what he wants” I was at the verge of tears, but I managed to control myself.

“Then what does he want exactly?” Natasha asked, her tone was soft and understanding, but serious at the same time, it was oddly comforting.

“That’s what scares me the most, he has no pattern, no signs of achieving anything specific, he’s random and unpredictable, there’s no way to catch up with him. When you least expect him, he already turn the game to his favor”

“And how do you know this much about this Dr. Rosario?” Tony asked suspiciously, “Because I was on a mission when Dr. Rosario kidnapped and killed my brother and father”.

A dead silence took over, they had looks of pity and understanding, but I didn’t need that, “I want his head, there’s no place safe in the universe if he breathes, so when the moment comes I want none of you to stand in my way, or else you’ll join him”.

It wasn’t a threat, but a warning, once I have him in my range, I have no idea what I’ll do to him, or to those around me, so it’s better that they stay away from me as possible.

“Mischief, I’ve been told that you can teleport” I could see his nervousness before he changed it for a cheeky grin, “I can, want me to show you?” I blinked and he was behind me, holding my hand in his, interlacing his fingers with mine as he finished the phrase.

“I think this abilities of yours could be very useful in this particular case, would you care to join?” He hummed, thinking, or at least pretending to.

“Why should I help you, little mortal?” I could handle mortal, but not little, his attitude was infuriating, “Because you owe me, I saved your life” time for him to make up for that incident.

He looked at me rather confused, so before he could ask I answered his doubt, “The shooter in the helicopter, he was about to shoot you, if it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t be here today” and also that caused my early retirement.

“You fool, I’m a god, I can’t be injured by your weapons–” I took out my gun and shot at his hand, making a pretty wound, “WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT, YOU WHORE!” He yelled, having let out a cry of pain. When he more or less calmed down, he stared indignantly at all the blood dripping from the wound for a moment before I could answer him.

"To prove my point, you bleed, you’re as mortal as any of us. I saved your life, now it’s time to return the favor, or is it that you have no honor…your majesty?” His wound healed itself, leaving no mark, reluctantly he took my hand and squeezed it a couple times before bringing it to his lips, leaving a soft kiss on my knuckles.

“I will help you, but once he’s dead, we’re done” he looked down to my eyes, he was obviously angry, but his smirk was… distracting? I couldn’t read his emotions, so I just imitated his smirk, “Fair enough”.

LOKI

There was this, impulse, my eyes fell to her lips, I felt so compelled to close our distance and kiss her, not very sure why, but I wanted to…Needed to.

Who are you Y/n?

Next Chapter___Masterlist

Someone, anyone who heard it, would say “I’m sorry” or “My condolences”, that day nobody said shit, they just watched the crate of a boy of no less than thirteen years old go down into the dark hole to be covered by dirt.

No one cried for him, they couldn’t, my father didn’t like senseless emotions like pity or anger, that’s why he kept making me and my sister happy, “Happy as a clam” he used to say, all the fucking time. In the long run, it gets boring, emotions are something natural, something strictly linked to our most primitive instincts, the moment I opened my mouth to say something about it, it all started.

2012.

It was so weird.

That morning at 6:30, I stretched out and got out of bed to start the day, took a shower, chose a more or less simple outfit, ate an absolutely unhealthy breakfast, because I had leftover donuts from last night, and headed out.

My job was pretty simple, get behind the moldy desk, pretend to organize some documents and complete mission reports while I kept people away from hacking the system, along with three other agents. All tasks that required a steady hand to write, as Maria Hill called it the day I started to work.

Not that I didn’t enjoyed it, because I did, but my set of skills were enough to be a field agent, not some sort of paper-tidying doll with a cold, lifeless gaze, as most of the people who worked in the office had.

But that wasn’t the weird thing about that day.

To sum it up, Maria came to my desk and asked me to follow her to the roof, she looked very hurt and the smell of blood and sweat would attract attention, so I thought it would be better not to question her and follow her to the helicopter that was flying, more like hovering, over the roof.

“Get inside!” She screamed over the noise of the engines, I ran taking care of my head from the propellers and jumped into a seat, quickly fastening all possible seatbelts.

“What the hell is going on!” I caught her attention with the confused stare I shot at her.

“I’ll explain when we get there!” heard her through the headphones a man gave me and nodded in response. The city looked so pretty from up high, but you really didn’t had time to appreciate it, “Pretty weird seeing you without being glued to Fury’s leg, is he dead or something?” you yelled, earning a disapproval look from her and a soft giggle from the man next to you.

“He’s busy gathering the Avengers, we have a situation and I require stealth” Obviously I wasn’t going to fall for her lies, with a single arch of an eyebrow I made her spill the beans, “Barton was kidnapped” she confessed, “So replacement, I don’t feel at all offended” she sighed and handed you a classic yellow folder with the name ‘Loki’ written on it.

“Loki? Like the Norse god? Terrorists are so creative these days” settling the files on my lap I stared at the weapon, a scepter with a shiny rock, “No, he’s the actual god, a lunatic from outer space…literally” I gave her a confused look as I went through the little info they had about him, plus a few pictures.

“We’re holding him in a cell, but I have a hunch” she explained, “Too easy” she nodded and I knew, something was definitely up.

“This is everything on him so far, right?” I asked, there were a few side notes provided by his brother Thor, but weren’t really useful to loosen up the knot in my stomach.

‘Trickster god, now that’s reassuring. He looks like a well grown man, but if the reasons for this show are what appears here then there’re dealing with a brat that requires a good old fashioned beating’ I thought passing two fingers over my lips in a thoughtful way.

“What did you need me for again?” I questioned while handing her back the folder.

“I–” She was cut off by an explosion sound, it was deafening but thanks to the headphones it stopped midway. Part of the helicopter door to my left was destroyed and wide open.

In the sky, I saw SHIELD’s Helicarrier, along with several planes firing at the engines. Nothing came out of my mouth more than a gasp. “Y/N!” barely heard Maria scream my name. And then I saw the reason, part of my seat almost hung from the screws that held it to the helicopter, but I did not care that I was in danger of death, something in the distance caught my attention.

I was watching the man in the photos jump towards a transporter, his clothes appeared to be green adorned with gold. And he looked buff and tall. That much I could appreciate due to the distance. I noticed him how he stopped midway, a red dot appearing on his forehead.

“Motherfucker!” exclaimed a soldier next to me, aiming his gun at Loki, no second thoughts, I just unfastened my seatbelt and jumped on him, the shot bounced off the metal until it was lost in the air. When my eyes went back to the helicopter, the transporter’s gate was closed and it was taking off. My mouth fell agape.

What the fuck did I do?

“What were you thinking?! Agent Harper had Loki in his shooting range, and if not for your impertinence and insubordination he would not have escaped!” Fury yelled as he paced in his command center.

“There was something off with him, besides how dare you suppose that simple bullets would kill a god? you have to think about this more calmly” he turned around and scoffed, “We don’t have time to think about it, Loki has an army coming” images about a device started showing on the screens.

“Sir I—” he cut me off, “Y/n, for years you’ve been a remarkable agent, a loyal soldier, a good friend” he put his hand on my shoulder as he softened his tone in the end, “But you let yourself be pushed around by your own impulses, and that’s something I cannot have in war” I know exactly where he was going, “Were gonna have to let-“ before he could finish that sentence I shot him something that at least would put some extra money in my pocket, “I quit, and I demand due to years of service my right to retirement”.

The check-in agents took my chip away and handed me a box with some books and the cushion I had on my chair. It was a shitty situation, but this kind of incident had already happened in the past, despite my good performance, I did let myself go.

The idiot I had let go caused a literal war in the district I lived in, when I got to my apartment, the building was destroyed by a huge monster that crushed the roof and literally everything in front of me right after I opened the door.

But at that time? I didn’t give a fuck about it. I just turned around and let the actual agents deal with it.

BUT! Before I even realized it, it was April 2021, I was about to turn twenty-five years old in just ten days. “Agent Y/N Ora Rivers” but that motherfucker in the blue starred suit had to appear at my door, “No” I closed the door in the face of Captain America, because fuck it! “Miss Y/N, I really need to” his voice was like honey, but there was no way in hell I would go back, “NO! IT’S BEEN NINE FUCKING YEARS!!” I yelled against the door, “Miss Y/N! You’re needed back in SHIELD, there’s been a situation” I heard him try to sound convincing, “It’s about some issue with mutants, Fury told me you would know more about it”.

In that moment, that spark I had nine years ago, the adrenaline, the rage…It all came back.

“Move stipes, and radio everyone and tell them I’m in no mood for any bullshit” he tilted his cap out of curtsey and lead me to the jet just casually parked in the middle of my field, “Fucking great” I said getting in and taking one of the seats, one without a window.

“No window view?” he asked while sitting in front of me, my lack of response made him clear his throat and start with another option. “Steve Rogers, pleasure to meet you” I shook his hand, sadly I couldn’t be nicer to him, that couple of sentences regarding Fury and the whole thing happening, got me pretty on edge.

Cap never said a word after that, I think he thought I’d have to calm down before meeting with the team, I appreciated the gesture, but it wasn’t like he was very talkative per se, even after the plane dropped us off at the airport. He didn’t say much, other than ‘this way’ when he was about to make a wrong turn on the way out of the gate.

I felt very nervous about everything that was happening, on the one hand I was going to go back to work, but on the other hand, maybe my suspicions about who was causing an Avengers level threat could be right, that scared me.

Perhaps he noticed, because from one second to the next, the captain’s hand moved to my shoulder, his thumb lightly stroking the material of my shirt.

I smiled at him; he wasn’t going to get more than that.

“I have to fix a couple of things on the second floor, go straight to the last one, I’ll catch up with you in a bit” she pressed the button that said 'penthouse’ and got off at the second floor, just like he said.

I went up without any problem, I even thought that I had a decent meeting with my new companions and that stupid Fury, until the damn elevator door opened.

Needed

Being the replacement for Pepper Pots as Tony’s secretary wasn’t easy, you had to follow Tony Stark wherever he went, or wherever he was called to go. That included being around lots of people for long periods of time, standing up and smiling, putting up with comments about either your boss or your body and your usefulness, the sluts who couldn’t keep their claws off your married boss, the assholes who swear that by attacking your self-esteem you will follow them to their luxury car and then never see them again.

You hated those events, they bring out the worst in you, and to top it off after all that fiasco you had to go back to the office to finish paperwork.

You felt it rising, an uncomfortably warm sensation in your chest that hugged your lungs tight; to try to ease it you breathe deeply a few times, but it still felt warm, your sore neck was giving you a hard time, the heels you were wearing were making your spine hurt a lot.

“Hey Y/n! How about you take the night? My wife can handle it from here!” you forced out a smile and nodded, loosing yourself in the crowd as you were looking for the exit.

Where was the exit again?

The music in the background was muffled, a loud high pitched ring made you cover your ears, but the noise came from the inside of you. Your stomach lurched from disorientation, yet you seemed calm, you were finally able to breathe when you got into your car and drove home.

You took off your heels and threw them to who knows where, sighing and growling, the bright light of the kitchen hurt your eyes, “Welcome darling, are you hungry?” your boyfriend appeared rose up from the couch, leaving his book aside to greet you, yet his face shifted when he looked at you, “My love, are you okay? You look pale” maybe you wanted to cry? no, that damned light! the awful party, you were just feeling too much. “I really just want to lay down baby, I just…I” your brain got a bit tied, as it couldn’t think of another thing than just getting into bed.

“Words my love, you can do it…may I?” Loki knew what kind of state you were in, so he would ask for your consent before touching you, even though every time you just nodded and melted into his soft touch, which brought a bit of clearness into what you needed in the moment.

“I’m just not up for anything, alright? I’m tired” that wasn’t fair, you were being mean to him, over something that he has no fault in, “I’m so sorry my love, I-” he cut you off with a soft peck on the lips, “Sounds like you had a hard day, do you want me to stay with you? maybe eat something? or do you wish to be alone?” he softly spoke.

It was wonderful that he gave you options, all to allow your brain to rest, “I want to be alone, can I still call you?” he petted your hair and kissed your forehead, “Whenever you want my love, go rest” one last kiss on your forehead made your muscle memory work, otherwise walking would have been a real hazard.

At some point at work you decided you just wouldn’t go through another episode, so you called your therapist and she told you something you didn’t expected. She recommended a medical dose of cannabis, she said it came with more pro’s than con’s with your situation, but that in simpler words, it would work as a temporary distressing or coping mechanism, since your usual pills weren’t making you feel any better.

The dose she prescribed was “safe”, she said that it would be controlled and measured so that there would be no risk of your body becoming addicted to the drug. She also asked that your boyfriend meet her to explain him the procedure and how he could help you improve your situation.

Loki loves feeling useful when it comes to you, so it wasn’t really a surprise when he told you he was 100% ready to help you, he looked like a dark fur golden retriever.

You were at a very non sketchy place to get it, somehow you expected it to be a dark alley or the back of a gas station, but since it was a rescripted dose, you could safely ask for it at a normal drugstore.

You weren’t supposed to consume it right away, your therapist advised you to make a tea out of it, or bake it, but neither of the servings had to contain a high dose of cannabis.

You got your solution, but you were scared, of the effects, the way your body could react to it, all of it kept you away from the drug, being reluctant to even think about consume it, it being still a substance that could harm you, it had an important weight in a moral sense, but then again it had the purpose of making you better. So there you hanged on a mental thread.

Until one day, same as any day at work, you came back with your heels in hand, drenched in your own sweat and the rain that poured like a wild ocean. You ran away from a party that Tony hosted to celebrate a victorious mission, it ended up with you locked up in a public bathroom in a gas station, your eyes shut, the coldness of the tiles somehow soothed your headache.

You felt inclined to move your body towards the WC, your stomach and your head managed to send your senses to hell, the command was to vomit, but you had nothing inside you. It hurt so much to try to force all the pain out by hurling, and failing miserably, so you ended up falling against the wall giving up, exhausted and in pain.

“Loki, please my love…I need you” you hugged your body close, hoping he would hear your broken sobs, and luckily he did, he appeared by your side, held you close to his chest and after passing his arm under your legs he scooped you up. “I think it’s time my love, should I brew the tea for you?” you nodded, massaging his silky black curls as he teleported you back to your shared bedroom.

“Would you like me to dress you, or you can manage?” you groaned, he lowered your body to the bed, “I don’t know Loki, it hurts” you did felt better knowing that you were in familiar grounds, his fresh scent sent the dizziness away, his soft caresses…but it still bothered you, why if you were so well, why you succumbed to pain so easily? It made you furious.

“My love, I’ll do it for you, I feel your frustration, just concentrate in my voice and my hands, please?”

“JUST!…” you took a deep breath, his touch was lovely, but in your state it was just too much. Felling him, then your head, then the light of the room, how everything just started to spin around. Your body, you couldn’t figure out where that tingling, like an electric sensation, was coming from, it hurt and infuriated you, not knowing.

“Please my love” you had taken his hands off of your body with such urgency, he understood that he wasn’t helping. He didn’t let you alone for much time, he came back with your favorite mug filled with the funny smelly tea.

“I diluted a little portion in this tea, but it will take longer to be effective because your system will process it, but read that if you smoke it, it will take maybe ten minutes” in that desperate moment, you pushed away the cigar and took the cup. It’s that you needed the pain to go away, but ruining your lungs was out of the question.

You drank the mug’s content, a couple drops fell from the corner of your mouth but Loki was quick to wipe them off, earning a warm smile from you.

“Will you wait with me?” He nodded, sitting beside you with his back against the bed, lowering just enough so your head could flop on his shoulder.

Around ten minutes went away, and you woke up from Loki’s lap with a smile on your face, feeling giddy, light. You brought your fingers up to Loki’s forearm, drawing a line back and forward to his wrists.

“Hello~” you giggled, watching a smile forming on his face, “Hello gorgeous, how are you feeling?” The hems of his fingers barely touched your cheek, the electric sensation left, instead you leaned against him and encouraged to caress you with his full hand.

“Cloudy, floaty, lovely” he watched you breathe, it was relaxed, deep, and you really seemed to enjoy the coldness of the air filling your lungs. And he just loved to see you better, or at least not in pain.

“Take it easy love, there’s nowhere to go, nothing to do, it’s just you and me. Besides, when you were sleeping I called Stark, you have the rest of the week off” he lowered his head to leave little kisses on your face, “You’re mine, only mine for a whole week” you laughed, as you used to do before all the disaster, “I’m yours every day, Loki, always” you love to see him smile, you imagined a little tail wiggling from side to side every time he was happy.

A rumble on your stomach made him look at you funny, he corrected your posture from his lap to cradle you in his arms, so your face would be merely inches from his, “Hungry, love? What do you crave? Sweet, salty, sweet and sour?” so many options to choose from, and yet you went with “Cheetos with Nutella”, his eyes widen in surprise, he thought it was a joke, but it wasn’t.

He left you watching cartoons while he teleported to the market, he didn’t took long but you didn’t even notice, you were fascinated with the colors and the quietness in your brain. It was just you, in cloud 9.

He handed you a portion of Cheetos on a bowl and the jar of Nutella. He assured you that it was only yours so you didn’t need to worry about leaving any for him, that sparkle in your eyes will never leave his mind.

He passed his hand behind your back, with his strength it was easy to push you forward gently for him to accommodate you between his legs, with his back resting on the cushions and yours on his chest. Your head and your body reclined in the search of his warmth, his affection, he would die to see you that happy without needing to be drugged, however, his beloved mortal did not work like that, and it was fine, he liked feeling needed.

“Loki?” he saw your eyes perk up, as well as your drowsy smile and silly giggles that made him chuckle, “Yes my love?” your hand that didn’t had Cheeto dust went up to caress his hair, “Thank you, for being in my life” you finished giving him a heartfelt smile before paying attention to the drawing on screen, you head nuzzling against his shoulder.

“No darling” he pressed you more against him, “Thank you” after whispering, he placed one kiss to your cheek, inhaled on your scent and closed his eyes, feeling your content and simple joy as you munch on your strange delight, “Someday” he thought to himself.

Someday he was going to take you away, from your pain and Earth. To a shack he was building on a distant planet while you were working. It was filled with flowers and protected with its own orbit, shielded with a spell and a giant snake that would prevent strangers to taint his gift. Someday, he repeated to himself like a prayer while eyeing the lowest drawer under the TV, where he kept the ring.

Chapter 3

Hastily, Loki put the book back onto the table and shape-shifted into his cat form. Still on the armchair he curled himself up until he really looked like one giant mass of fur and closed his eyes. He didn’t know exactly why but pretending to be asleep seemed like the best plan right now. He opened one eye to take a peek at you and how you already looked around searching for him. You put the bag with cat food into the kitchen and spun around, seeing if he was there. Loki noticed how you started to panic a bit but when he saw that your eyes moved into his direction, he quickly closed his eyes again.

He heard you sigh in relief and judging from the sounds that came after that, you started to unpack the things you had bought. Curiously he stood up, stretched (to make the fake sleep more believable) and jumped off from the way too comfortable leather chair. You smiled at the cats curiosity and pulled a dark green food bowl out of your bag and placed it before him. Loki just looked at you and then at the plastic bowl in front of him. He didn’t untderstand. Now you opened one of the cat food packages and knelt beside him as you poured the food into the bowl. Quickly you discarded the now empty package and continued unpacking.

Loki didn’t look all too pleased. Was he really supposed to eat that?Helplessly he looked up at you. “God, your eyes are scaring me.” You stated nervously smiling. Loki tilted his head since that seemed to work when he wanted to express confusion. You stuttered as you looked at him react to what you said. “Either you’re the most intelligent cat on this planet or I am going mental.” You said and closed the fridge which was now semi filled again. Loki kept looking at you when you put the bag asside and hung it over one of the chairs in the kitchen. “Have you never eaten cat food before or what is up with you?” He kept staring at you. You now seriously got a little scared. “Alright, Imma be honest, you‘re creeping me out right now.” But he kept staring. And it wasn‘t like he was staring at you like a stubborn cat it was more like..another person was staring at you. When he still didn’t stop looking at you, you put your elbows onto the counter, groaned and held your head in your hands. “Am I really this lonely?” There it was again. Loki felt sick and guilty. He still couldn’t quite make out why you made him feel such emotions but he took his eyes off of you and sniffed at the food before him.

His body was refusing to eat this..stuff but his mind was telling him to just do it. After all, what did he expect? He transformed into a cat and of course he got catfood and not some grapes or nuts. And in this moment he decided that maybe this was the best thing that could have happened to him. The Avengers would never find him here and this actually wasn’t as bad as a cell. At least he knew you had a good taste in literature. Speaking of taste, the food infront of him was mediocre at best.

But despite his tongue clearly not liking the texture of it, he ate all of it in a span of a few seconds. You stared at him with wide eyes. “What the heck..?” You mumbled and started to make yourself something to eat. It was just some cheap Ramen but it still tasted better than you‘d think. So you started boiling water and ripped open the little ingredient packs.

Loki couldn’t see what you were doing on the counter so he jumped onto the kitchen table to get a better view. You turned around at the slight thudnoise he made and looked helplessly into his blue eyes. “You know, everybody says that you shouldn’t give your cat too many allowances.” As you said that you mentally slapped yourself. Were you really asking a cat if it would kindly jump off of your kitchen table? And to your surprise, Loki jumped down onto the floor again and made his way back to the leather armchair that he had previously ‘slept’ in.

As so many times today, you stared at him awkwardly. What was up with this cat? When you heard the click of the water boiler you turned around and poured the water into the cup with the noodles and put a small plate ontop of it. Since you had to wait a little bit for your food to be ready, you walked towards the cozy little corner in your apartment and sat down in the purple armchair, leaning back with a sigh. “Alright, this is gonna be a really weird thing to ask but-” you paused for a moment. “Can you understand me?” You asked, looking at the floor. For some reason this was really embarrassing for you.

Loki found himself quite lost. What was he supposed to do now? Meow? Nod? Pretend to sleep and not being able to understand you? He was aware that normal pets weren’t able to understand a person without being trained to react to certain words or actions but he could not hide it forever, right? At some point you would for sure notice it anyway.

Determined, Loki jumped onto the little round wooden table between you and him and looked up at you. Slightly nodding.

Now you were truly shocked. “I-” what were you even going to say? Shaking your head with a small smile you made your way back into the kitchen to grab your now ready-to-eat Ramen and sat down at the kitchen table, Loki following close behind you. You grabbed your phone out of the pocket in your pants and set it up before you on the table. “Let‘s see what‘s in the news.” You muttered to yourself and clicked at the most recent video.

“The God of Mischief, Loki Laufeyson, who had attacked the city of New York early this evening is still not to be found…” You visibly cramped up in your seat, fingers tightly holding the eating sticks. When Loki heard his name he quickly jumped onto the chair next to you to look at the news himself. Your nervousness didn’t go unnoticed by him. Now there was Tony Stark on the screen, still in his Iron Man Suit and surrounded by journalists that all asked him the same questions. 'Where is he?’ , 'What is going to happen now?’ , 'Are we safe?’. Normally you‘d be annoyed at the journalists and you would have understood it if Stark had just waved his hand at them and didn’t answer any of the questions but now, when it‘s actually important you were really pissed off by him and the other Avengers or whatever they called themselves.

“I really, really hope they catch him. Not gonna lie, I‘m scared that he‘ll attack again.” You laughed nervously at your last statement. Loki didn’t know what came over him but it was as if he was on autopilot. He stretched forward and snuggled against your side in an attempt to sooth your nerves a bit. And to his surprise it seemed to work. You looked down at him with a now soft smile and started petting him. You eyes wandered back to your phone, still petting him. Loki lay down on the chair and suddenly a wave of tiredness came over him. The last thing he remembered from this day was your soft and warm hand petting his head and him slowly drifting away, closing his eyes.

He still didn’t know where this was supposed to go but it certainly was something that he could get used to.

Cat of Mischief - 2

Summary:You take Loki back to your apartment and he is more confused than ever until he finds something very special

Chapter Overview|MASTERLIST

Chapter 2

It was terrible. Probably the most horrifying thing you‘d ever seen.

Bringing the cat to the vet was one thing but getting him checked was a whole different story. Scratching, biting, hissing..and the only thing that happened was putting him on the treatment table. When the vet came in she was met with more hissing, more scratching and more biting while she tried to touch the angry black ball of fur. You felt terribly sorry for her and gave her an apologetic smile.

When she was finished (after Loki finally stopped struggling) she wiped some sweat from her forehead and looked like she‘d go to her boss after this and ask for a week off (at least). “It‘s a he first of all.” She took of her gloves while talking. “He isn‘t chipped, which is weird since he doesn’t look like a stray cat at all.” “Is he neutered?” You quietly asked as if this question could upset the already distressed cat. And it seems like you were right. His head spun around to look at you, hissing angrily. “No he isn’t. This would lead to my next question: Would you like to take him home? Because if yes we can chip and castrate him.” “Uhm…” you glanced at Loki. He looked terrified. “I think we should wait with that.” The vet looked more than relieved to hear you say that.

-

“You‘re a fighter aren‘t you?” You said chuckling to yourself as you walked out of the building. Loki let out a small growl. “My apartment isn’t too far away don‘t worry.” Carefully and very slowly you put your hand on his head to not scare him. He quickly hissed at you but started purring after a few seconds. “What is this magic!?” Loki exclaimed loud and confused which came out as another adorable little meow that made your heart melt.

You kept petting him lightly while you made your way through the now even busier streets of New York. The sun was going down and it seemed that everybody in this city just wanted to get home and get to bed. If it was even possible to fall asleep after today. Luckily, you were out with some friends when the attack had happened but because of that the shock was even bigger when you came back. Even now it was surreal to you. Everywhere there were ruins of the once so proud-looking city and you could feel the shock and sadness of all citizens.

“Horrible isn’t it?” you muttered with a heavy voice. “I mean, aside from the fact that things like gods and-” you paused a moment “-Aliens? exist, it is just terrifying that the first thing they do is attack us.” Loki looked up at you. He felt a little sick all of a sudden. “I mean, what did we do? That god of mischief just comes here and tries to rule over us for what reason? He is a god after all, doesn’t he have people worshipping him already?” But quickly you corrected yourself. “But then again heisthe god of mischief and from all I know about nordic mythology, he isn’t that loved among the people.” You sighed heavily. Not even knowing what you should be mad about. The best way to describe your state at the moment was probably just tired. You were already tired and socially exhausted when you drove back to your apartment after hanging out with your friends and well, what awaited you wasn’t the most pleasant thing to put it nicely.

“Alright here we are!” You said and fumbled with your keys, still holding Loki in your arms. When you finally managed to open your door and stepped into your small apartment, a pleasant wave of warmth came over you and you sighed contently. Carefully, you kneeled down and put Loki down onto the floor before closing the door behind you. Putting your hands on your hips you let you eyes scan the apartment, Loki did the same. “Ta-da” you said quietly and with a small smile on your lips when he turned his head to look at you. Loki was helpless. He was feeling…guilty? Why was he feeling guilty? He knew that this feeling came over him when you started talking about what happened today but why did you make him feel this way? You were just some other mortal. Not different from the others that he had seen today. He shook his head lightly and started exploring this - as he would call it - pathetic little living space of yours. You watched him with a hint of a proud grin on your face until you realized something. “Oh god I‘m such an idiot.” You mumbled which made Loki turn to you once again. Tilting his head in confusion. “I need to head out and buy you some food.” You opened the door behind you again. “Just don’t destroy anything, alright?” Giving him a soft smile, you stepped out and with a little clickyou were gone and he was alone.

Now he really was clueless. What had just happened? Why was he still a cat and why was he now some mortals- he didn’t even wanted to think about it- pet?

Once he was sure that you were gone, he transformed back into his æsir form, after what felt like ages, and stretched. Wanting to continue his exploration he took a step and stumbled forward. Cursing to himself after almost tripping over his own feet. Alright, this might take a few minutes he thought to himself and carefully took another step into what seemed like your kitchen. Feeling his stomach grumble, he took a look inside the fridge and he was verydisappointed and quite shocked. It was practically empty and he started to wonder how you even survived with this little amount of supplies. Still suspicious of your living situation, he closed the fridge and suddenly it hit him.

“Why am I still here?” He asked himself and looked out of the window. He could just go. Run away. The door was no match for his magic so why was he still in the apartment of some weak and pathetic midgardian and played pet with them? His expression turned into disgust at the thought of what had happened to him up until now. He made his way to the front door, determined to quit this game before it got worse until something caught his eye. Not far from the exit there was a small corner with two armchairs. The one close to the door had dark brown leather and the other one on the opposite side had an elegant shade of purple. In between those two (very comfortable looking) armchairs was a small round wooden table that had two books stacked on top of each other.

Loki looked at the door again and then his eyes returned to the little cozy looking corner. He sighed, walked past the door and took the book that was on top into his hand and turned it around, searching for a title. When he found it his eyes widened. It was Shakespeare. Romeo and Juliet to be exact. Subconsciously he sat down onto the leather armchair and traced the lettering on the front with his index finger. No one but his mother knew it but he loved poetry and especially Shakespeare. One day, when Frigga noticed that Loki had almost read every book in their library she snuck out to Midgard and brought back a variety of poetry books for him and among all of them he took a special liking to Romeo and Juliet. At first it was hard for him to decipher the words but not long after, it became his favorite story. He didn’t know why exactly this work but he really, really adored it. Carefully he opened the book but suddenly the door next to him clicked

Cat of Mischief - 1

A/N: Hey there! So this is my first fanfiction here on Tumblr and I just want to say a few things :) First of all, english isn‘t my first language and I am not really good with commas and when to set paragraphs. So I mostly do it when I think that it is right but please correct me in the comments if you find mistakes so I can correct them. And second of all, I have to get back into writing. Meaning that my chapters might not be the longest or best. I expect the chapters to get better with time so yeah, hope you enjoy this first chapter of my first fanfiction here on Tumblr!

Chapter Overview | MASTERLIST

Summary:Loki stumbles through the crowded city and is saved by you after he was a little careless

Chapter 1

One moment. It had taken Loki just one moment of carelessness from the so called avengers to escape their seemingly tight grasp on him. Although he couldn’t quite remember how he did it (even though it had been just a few minutes) he was now a free man. Well, sort of. His face was still everywhere to be seen and the news that he had escaped were coming in quicker than he had imagined. Loki needed a plan.

He couldn’t go back to Asgard and he couldn’t just stumble through the city of New York in hopes that he wouldn’t get arrested again. Well, he couldn’t stumble through the crowds of people as himself but in form of someone or something else, he wouldn’t have to worry about a thing. So he took the most logical step, shapeshifting into a cat. They were slender, cautious, quiet, and equally elegant creatures, traits that he thought he had in common with these wayward fur balls.

Slowly trotting out of the dark alley in which he used his magic, he made his way out into the busy streets of New York. It seems like the damage he had done wasn’t as great as he at first thought. Cursing to himself he looked around. It was different. While he was actually a tall god, he now was just a cat. A small and confused black cat.

Still trying to accustom to everything he didn’t notice an old man coming towards him. And suddenly Lokis weight shifted from one side to the other and he lost his balance. That old man had tripped over him. Loki, confused and scared, rushed to the end of the sidewalk and accidentally stumbled onto the street. He didn’t know why but now he was panicking. So he run. But where was he going to run? He didn’t have anywhere to go and now it became clear to him. What even was his plan? They wouldn’t let him get back to Asgard without arresting him and he couldn’t live a life on Midgard without the Avengers arresting him. So what was he even doing?

“WAIT!”

Suddenly, the ground became more distant and his legs would not allow him to move any further. He was picked up. Even more confused now, he looked around just to see a car centimeters away from him and, he turned his head around, you. The mortal that had dared to picked him up.

“Consider looking before you drive full speed you idiot!” You mumbled and walked off the street, Loki still in your arms.

He looked over his shoulder and the car was already gone. “What a prick.” You simply said, also looking back to where you had picked Loki up. Now that everything calmed down, Loki suddenly realized where he was. In the arms of some random Midgardian.

“Let me down you foul and under developed human! I am Loki, prince of Asgard, God of Mischief and I will NOT tolerate this-”

“My god, you‘re talkative.” You chuckled to yourself while looking down at the small cat in your arms who didn’t seem to enjoy all this as much as you did in this moment. Again, Loki was confused. How can you interrupt a literal god that-

Oh.

Right.

He was a cat.

While he wasn’t able to hear it, you were. Everything he said came out as (very adorable) little meows and he was certain that that wasn’t intimidating at all.

Brows furrowed, you looked around and your eyes soon layed themselves back onto the black fur ball in your arms.

“Now who might you belong to?”

You muttered to yourself and put him down, still holding him firmly in place with both your hands. You began searching for any kind of indication to where he might belong. He certainly wasn’t a stray judging by how well groomed he looked.

Loki didn’t enjoy this at all. Being touched by some low life mortal was already embarrassing but thinking that he belonged to someone else but himself? He couldn’t believe the audacity that this..creature had. Touching a god like that. Kneel before him is what they should do! (Even though you kind of were kneeling on the ground to check him)

“Just wait until I break out of this pathetic form and-” He let out a low purr. Surprised by that sound he stumbled back and looked at you with shock in his eyes. You started laughing at his reaction.

“Never been pet under the chin before?” You said and stretched your hand out for him again. Loki just stood there. What was happening to him?

You tilted your head slightly. “You‘re a weird cat.” You stated and pulled your hand back. “But I‘m sure your owner misses you so let‘s get you to the vet.” With one swift motion he was picked up again.

Vet?

A vet for animals?

Loki didn’t know how to react. Should he bite you and run away? Should he just go along with it? But before he could clear his mind you had already started walking down the street.

Part 4

Loki

2012 (After the battle of New York)

Raven and I had used the tesseract to escape The Avengers, now on an unknown planet trying to lay low. It wasn’t The Avengers I was worried about evading. It was Thanos. He had promised that I could rule over Earth, providing I secured and delivered the tesseract. However, I had failed to overthrow Earth and Thanos would likely think I had stolen the tesseract. Unless I either kept running or could talk my way out of the situation.

After explaining the situation to Raven, I had expected her to want to leave. But she had insisted on staying with me even with the potential danger. Even with us not staying in one place too long, she just saw it as she finally could explore the galaxy, always trying to keep me thinking positively. So far, we hadn’t been found, luck had been on our side. But luck would eventually run out.

Thanos and The Black Order eventually found us on Terma, corning us in our temporary home. Raven was already on the defensive before they’d entered the house. I grabbed her by the shoulders, getting her full attention.
“Don’t try to fight them, we’re outnumbered. I will get us out of this, but if the worst does happen, I need you to run,” I warned her.
“I’m not leaving you.”

Thanos had no quarrel with her, so I was hoping she would be let go. However, if she wasn’t willing to leave me, that could put her at risk.
“You may have too, but I promise you I will follow,” I lied.
Before she could respond, the door was forced open and in stepped Thanos. I made sure to keep Raven behind me to keep her safe a few seconds more as The Black Order followed behind Thanos.

“You have something of mine, something that you stole,” Thanos declared.
“Stole it? If I hadn’t used it to escape Earth, then you never would have gotten it. Now I’ve just been keeping it safe, waiting for you to collect it,” I replied.
Thanos stepped closer, The Black Order now surrounding us.
“Is that so?” Thanos asked, “we must have just missed you on Xandar and Maveth and Aakons.”

I forced a smile, hoping there was still a slight chance I could talk our way out of this.
“That was you? Forgive me, I was under the impression it was someone else,” I chuckled nervously.
Thanos did not return my smile or seem amused. He glanced behind him at one of his lackeys before nodding. Cull Obsidian grabbed Raven by her throat and lifted her from the floor.

Raven protested, struggling in his grip. Panic filled me, but before I could conjure the tesseract, Raven used her pyrokinesis on Cull. Instead of dropping her, he threw her violently across the room. Her body landed hard, yet she still tried to get up despite the pain. Quickly I conjured as many clones as I could using them to distract Thanos and The Black Order. As the room erupted into chaos, I made my way over to Raven, hoping to get to her before they could determine I was the real Loki.

My main focus was getting her as far from here as possible, regardless of my own safety. Thanos could do whatever he wanted to me so long as he didn’t touch her. Using my magic again, I concealed myself from Thanos and The Black Order. Halfway across the room, Ebony Maw had fought off several clones now surveying the room for me. When he couldn’t find me, he turned his attention to Raven, who had now gotten to her feet.

Raven hurled another fireball at Maw, who deflected it with ease, now advancing on her. Ebony Maw lifted Raven with his telekinesis, although he started to struggle as she fought back with her own telekinetic ability. Before I had the chance to intervene, Raven was thrown in Thanos’ direction. Thanos picked her up by her throat, her legs dangling uselessly as she clawed at his giant purple hand. Quickly I revealed myself in the hopes he would release her.

“Thanos, stop. You have no quarrel with her. Please, just let her go, and the tesseract is yours,” I bargained.
My panic turned to dread as Thanos began applying pressure to her throat, Raven struggling to breathe. Quickly I conjured the tesseract, holding it out for him to take.
“Here! Take it. But please just let her go. Please,” I pleaded.
Proxima and Corvus forced me to my knees, restraining me before Ebony Maw took the tesseract from me.

Yet Thanos still did not free Raven, amused by her feeble attempts of freedom. Quickly, she was losing air. Ebony Maw checked the tesseract over to make sure it wasn’t another illusion, once satisfied, he nodded to Thanos.
“I should have known better than to trust something as important as this with a failure,” Thanos spoke, “you failed your father, your people, failed to secure Earth. And now you’ve failed to protect your wife.”
Thanos tightened his grip once more, snapping Raven’s neck with ease.

All I could do was watch in horror as Thanos dropped her limp body to the floor. Proxima and Corvus released me now, having gotten what they wanted. I scrambled over to Raven’s body, desperately using my magic to revive her in any way. Thanos and The Black Order left without another word; they’d gotten what they’d wanted. No matter what I tried, Raven still didn’t move, her eyes cold and lifeless. She was gone.

I held her close, my sobs turning to wails. Thanos was right, I’d failed to protect her and now I was truly alone. She’d been the only person to stick by my side, to see the real me. After Odin had given up on me, as well as Thor and my mother, Raven had stayed. I’d taken vows, made promises to keep her safe, keep her happy. And now they were broken because I hadn’t done enough, I hadn’t been strong enough or powerful enough.

I didn’t know how much time had passed until night arrived. My anguish had turned to rage. Thanos would pay for what he did, I would make sure of it. Stroking Raven’s hair, I knew I couldn’t stay here. But I hated the fact I had to leave her here, that I had to let her go. Removing her wedding ring, I conjured a chain and wore it around my neck. Now came the harder part.

Forcing myself to let go of her, I went outside and found an appropriate spot for a cremation. I couldn’t bear the thought of burying her and leaving her here alone, so a cremation was the next best thing. Using my magic, I conjured an appropriate funeral pyre, making small adjustments here and there. Once complete, I headed back inside, picking her up and holding her in my arms for what would be the last time. Her body had started to lose its warmth by now.

Carrying her to the pyre, I placed her down and closed her eyes. Leaning down, I kissed her forehead, unsure if I should say anything. The only thing that came to mind was ‘I’m sorry’. It felt like we’d hardly spent anytime together, our time unfairly cut short. There was so much we had wanted to do together, could have done together. My eyes filled with tears again, not just mourning the loss of her, but the loss of what could have been.

Taking one final look at her, I then lit the pyre and within a few minutes, it was engulfed in flames. Unable to watch anymore, I turned and left, ready to track down Thanos.

———————————————————————————————————–

After two missed opportunities, I changed my tactic. Instead of tracking down Thanos, I decided to track down infinity stones. Apparently two Asgardians had been spotted on Knowhere at The Collectors museum recently. Whilst there was no proof they had handed over an infinity stone, it was worth a look. If there was nothing there, I had no doubt The Collector knew where I could find more infinity stones. Where they would be, Thanos would eventually show up.

Upon my arrival, I’d used my magic to conceal myself before searching the museum. It was more of a vault than a museum. Finally, I found a red stone stored in a locked container. The reality stone. Now that I knew it was here, I just had to wait for Thanos to come for it. Conjuring a clone, I had them keep watch over the museum and they would inform me the moment Thanos arrived.

It took months before finally Thanos arrived on Knowhere. The Black Order were staying on the ship, likely searching for the locations of the remaining infinity stones. The best time to take Thanos out was now whilst he only had one of the stones, if he got anymore he would be too powerful to take on alone. I remained concealed in the museum, taking the reality stone and hiding it. In its place, I left an illusion of the stone as bait.

Heavy footsteps could be heard through the museum, Thanos talking to someone. Before I could investigate who, The Collector was thrown at one of the display cases; the glass shattering and littering the floor.
“The Power Stone. I won’t ask again,” Thanos warned.
The Collector spat out a mouthful of blood before pointing at the bait. Thanos smiled, walking to the ‘stone’.

Now was my chance. Levitating the larger, sharper shards of glass, I waited for Thanos to take the stone. His fingers passed through it before he tried once more. Visibly frustrated, he turned to interrogate the Collector further. I finally revealed myself, not giving Thanos time to react as I flung the glass shards at him. Each one embedded deep in his skin, the pain and surprise knocking him off balance. Most of the shards had hit either vital organs or arteries.

But I wasn’t going to leave him bleeding out to chance. Running to him, I conjured a dagger and came to a stop by his head. I wanted to make sure he saw me, saw who was the one to kill him. Recognition filled his eyes before pure loathing. I crouched down, so I was closer to him.
“You told me I was nothing but a failure. Failing you, failing to keep my wife safe before you took her from me,” I said, “and yet I’m now the one with the upper hand.”

Before he could reply, I stabbed him in the eye, pressing my dagger as deep as I could until it hit his brain, ending his cries of pain and his life. Relief filled me, knowing my wife’s murderer had gotten what he’d deserved at my hand. But that feeling was short-lived as an orange doorway opened a few metres from me. A handful of heavily armoured men and women stepped through, setting their sights on me. One of them stepped forward, obviously the one in charge.

“On behalf of the Time Variance Authority, I hereby arrest you for crimes against the sacred timeline,” the female said firmly.
I frowned at her. Who were the Time Variance Authority? And what crimes? They couldn’t possibly mean killing Thanos.
“Oh please, I’ve practically done you all a favour by killing him,” I replied.
The female sighed as if I was being difficult before stepping closer. She smacked me hard across the face with the baton she’d been carrying, the force of the blow knocking me over.

Before I could retaliate, she put some kind of collar around my neck, and I was hauled to my feet by two of her lackeys. They dragged me through the orange portal before it closed behind us. We were no longer in The Collectors museum; I assumed this must be the Time Variance Authority’s headquarters. The female that was in charge led me through a set of double doors and past a circular desk to another set of doors.
“I am not taking another step until you answer my questions,” I growled.
She smirked and motioned to the doors, “through those doors are all the answers you need.”

Chapter 3

Raven

Saturday June 24th

Thor had yet to return. But I couldn’t hold off my plans for him. In fact, him not being here made it somewhat easier. Val and I had eaten dinner, and she had insisted on doing the washing up to show her gratitude. She would likely leave in two hours and then I could prepare. Val was talking about the preparations that would need to be made come September, when the colder weather set in.
“I just want us to get a head start, so we’re not worrying about it at the last minute,” she continued.

“I know. You’re always one step ahead, like a good leader should be.”
Suddenly, Val dropped the plate she’d been holding into the sink as she spotted something outside.
“Holy shit,” she marvelled.
“What? What is it?”
“Your gonna wanna see this.”
Was Thor back? Or was it something bad? Getting up from the table, I joined her at the window.

Outside appeared to be an orange doorway, but the more shocking thing was who had emerged from that doorway. Loki. Not even bothering with shoes, I raced outside towards him. This couldn’t be real; he couldn’t be real. I had to be dreaming, or maybe I’d truly lost it and had a psychotic break. The first thing that struck me as odd was the clothing choice. Black trousers, an off-white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and a striped tie.

His hair was shorter, back how it had been when he first came to Earth. When I reached him, I took his face in my hands as if to get a better look at him. He leaned into my touch, as if he hadn’t felt it in years. But something still wasn’t right, something in his eyes gave it away.
“You’re not my Loki,” I spoke.
His face fell a little, “I’m not.”

Taking my hands away, I fought back tears.
“Is this a dream?” I asked, my voice cracking.
“No, this is all real, I’m real. I just come from a different timeline.”
Bruce had mentioned time travel before, I didn’t think such a thing was possible, but this Loki was proof it was possible. The orange doorway closed behind Loki, meaning he was here to stay. There were so many questions I had, and I didn’t know where to start.

“You should probably come inside,” I mentioned.
Loki followed me back to the cottage where Valkyrie was waiting. She eyed Loki suspiciously, her arms folded across her chest.
“Do you want me to stay?” She asked.
If this Loki meant me harm, he would have likely already attacked. Loki also eyed Valkyrie with suspicion, as if he’d never met her.

“I can handle it,” I replied.
Val hesitated for a few moments before finally leaving. Sitting down at the table, I motioned for Loki to take a seat. He glanced around the cottage, a hint of disgust on his face before he sat down. Perhaps this was an earlier version of Loki, maybe sometime after we’d met. There was still a sense of arrogance about him that I hadn’t missed.

Both of us sat in silence for a few moments, neither of us unsure where to start. It made no sense; it was my husband, my best friend and yet it wasn’t. This man was a stranger.
“So now I know time travel exists, where are you from?” I asked.
“I was last on Earth after the battle of New York before the timekeepers arrested me.”
“Not the Avengers?”

Loki paused, “no.”
This was already a lot to wrap my head around. Time travel, timekeepers, another Loki. He studied me as if there was something wrong.
“You changed your hair. It’s…odd seeing it so long and with your natural colour,” he said.
Judging by the look on his face, he didn’t like it. But by the way he worded his sentence made it obvious there was another version of me from his timeline. Well, my current appearance wasn’t exactly for his benefit.

“You don’t like it?” I asked.
“That’s not what I said.”
“But it was implied. Nice to know all Loki’s are bad at hiding their real feelings.”
A silence fell over us again. Neither of us knew what to say to the other. We were both strangers to each other, both needing to get to know each other.
“Why are you here?” I asked, “if there’s so many timelines, why this one?”

Loki thought about his answer for a few moments.
“I didn’t have a say in the matter. It was up to the timekeepers, I helped them capture a few variants and they let me go,” he explained.
“Variants? As in other Loki’s?”
“Yes.”
“Do you all look the same or…?”
“Some of us look the same, but they were some that were quite different. Apparently, in one timeline, I’m an alligator.”

I couldn’t help but laugh shortly at the mental image. Loki smiled at the sound, chuckling softly.
“If you were to be any animal, I would have thought you’d be a snake,” I said, “considering how many times you used to try to prank Thor by turning into a snake.”
His smile faded at the mention of Thor, I couldn’t be sure if they had been on good terms in his timeline.
“Is he here?” Loki asked.

“No, he’s been gone a few months now, trying to undo the damage Thanos did with the rest of the Avengers.”
Loki’s expression changed, fear evident in his eyes. It made sense that this Loki was also afraid of Thanos, if he had still been through the battle of New York.
“He’s still out there?” Loki asked, clearly concerned.
“Technically yes. But in this timeline no, Thor took his head off five years ago. Now there’s this elaborate plan involving time travel to get the infinity stones and undo his damage,” I explained.

Loki seemed slightly impressed to hear Thor had been the one to take Thanos out. I had first thought that Thanos’ death would bring me some happiness, knowing my husband’s murderer had gotten what he deserved. But that feeling hadn’t lasted long, it still did nothing to fill the void.
“So, are you staying or…?” I asked.
“If that’s alright with you.”

I nodded, “yeah, that’s fine. So long as you don’t mind taking the couch.”
“Not at all, I understand.”
Thankfully, that hadn’t gone as awkwardly as I thought it would have. This situation was going to get complicated, the man before me was my husband but also wasn’t. There were feelings there, but it felt wrong to have them. Getting up from the table, I found Loki some spare pillows and blankets, making sure the couch was comfy for him.

He could always put the log fire on if he wanted to. We exchanged some slightly awkward goodnights before I went to my bedroom. Finally, all my conflicting emotions hit me at once and I sunk down to my knees on the floor, crying into my hands. I didn’t know what to do; it felt like I’d been given another chance, but it would feel wrong to take it. It would feel like some weird kind of infidelity. All I wanted was to be held by him, but that was out of the question.

Standing before my bedside cabinet, I picked up one of the pill bottles I planned on using tonight and debated my next move. I couldn’t take them now, not with him here. Putting my pills back in the drawer, I decided against taking my life. For now. I could take things one day at a time and see how things panned out between this Loki and I.

Chapter 2

Raven

Four years later

Whoever said time heals all wounds was a liar. Nothing had changed, the pain was still there, festering like an open wound. Thor was still refusing to come out of his cottage, wasting away in his squalor, and I had resorted to older, unhealthier coping mechanisms. The only positive was that New Asgard was mostly fully functioning now. And with it fully functioning without Thor, it probably could function without me, too. Valkyrie had proved some days she could run it by herself.

And that was why I had set a date. Saturday June 24th. I would invite Thor and Val over for dinner, spend my last night in good company, and after they left, I would end it. I’d been hording my antidepressants for a few months now. There had been the option of just cutting my wrists length ways, but I didn’t want Val to find my body like that, or anybody to have to deal with more of a clean-up than necessary.

As I washed up the cooking stuff from last night, I glanced down at the large knife in my hand. Glancing at the door, I debated about what was stopping me from ending it now. My letters were already written, I just wouldn’t get the chance to say a proper goodbye. Before I could think about it anymore, there was a knock on my door. Dropping the knife back in the sink, I dried my hands before answering the door.

Val stood outside, looking slightly annoyed. Either Thor had done something, or something had gone wrong at the docks.
“We have some visitors,” she spoke.
I frowned, we never had visitors. And that could mean anybody. But if it were a fucking ‘Avenger’ they were sure as hell going to get a piece of my mind. Not once had any of them come here to check up on Thor or myself. Not even a phone call. Some ‘friends’ they were. I know I wasn’t on the best terms with most of them, but Thor was, and he deserved better from them.

Grabbing my coat, I left the cottage with Val, who led me over to a ship. Outside, waiting for us, stood Rocket Raccoon and Bruce Banner. Only Banner was now halfway between himself and Hulk mode. The sight was odd, but he looked mostly in control of himself. That still didn’t mean I was happy to see either of them. I skipped out on the greetings; I could already tell this wasn’t a social visit.
“What do you want?” I asked, “there’s been no contact for five years and now you just show up out of the blue.”

Rocket had his arms folded across his chest, unimpressed with my tone. Bruce, on the other hand, refused to look me in the eye. He knew I was right, more so after everything we’d done for him.
“Let me guess, you’re only here because you need him for something? You don’t actually care how he’s been?” I continued.
“We might have found a way to bring everyone back.” Bruce replied.
I fell silent; I hadn’t ever thought that would be possible. And if there was a chance, I had no right to stand in the way of that.

“How?” I asked.
“It’s complicated, quantum stuff combined with time travel. If we can get the stones, we can undo what Thanos did.”
But it wouldn’t bring Loki back. His death was before the snap. I still wouldn’t get my life back. But my happiness didn’t matter when it came to millions of other people’s happiness. Now was not the time to be selfish.
“Fine. Talk to him, see how he feels about it. But if he says no, I don’t want you to keep pushing until you change his mind,” I said sternly.

Bruce nodded in agreement, and I led the way to Thor’s cottage. Knocking first, we then headed inside. Thor was awake, already drinking a beer. When Thor noticed Rocket and Bruce, his face instantly lit up, and he greeted them warmly. A part of me didn’t want Thor to go, I wanted him to stay so that I knew he would be safe. But that was just me being selfish again. Rocket and Thor made small talk before Bruce explained the situation. It sounded almost like a sales pitch, like he’d practiced what he was going to say on the way here.

Thor fell silent for a few moments, looking to me for my opinion, or maybe even my permission. I didn’t know what to say, a lot of my answers were selfish.
“Raven, you can speak freely. We are amongst friends,” Thor reassured.
“If you can bring everyone back, then do it. But I want you to be doing it because you want to, not because you feel you owe your so-called friends anything. You do this for you because maybe then it will help you heal,” I explained.

After having tried to tell Thor that Thanos winning wasn’t his fault for years and it still not getting through, perhaps if he righted his ‘wrong’, he would feel better. It wouldn’t bring back anything he or I had lost, but it was the right thing to do.
“And put aside the right thing to do for a moment. Do you want me to go?” Thor asked.
The look in his eyes told me that if I said no, he wouldn’t leave, he would stay. My eyes glassed over, and I swallowed the lump in my throat. In that moment, the love I had for my brother-in-law grew by ten times, knowing he would stay with me if I asked him too because all we had now was each other.

“Yes,” I lied, “but I want you to come back in one piece.”
Thor gently smiled; he knew I was lying but didn’t call me out on it. Instead, he pulled me in for a tight hug.
“You have my word that I will return,” he promised.
I nodded, doing my best to keep it together. Thor changed into some cleaner clothes and packed a bag before we headed for the ship. We exchanged goodbyes before Valkyrie, and I watched the ship leave.

She placed a comforting hand on my shoulder as I fought back tears.
“He’ll be back, he’s gotten out of rougher scrapes before,” she reassured me.
“I just hope whatever plan they have works and they pull it off.”
“You’ve still got me, you know. And I’m not planning on leaving anytime soon.”
“You better not.”

Chapter 1

Raven

After a year of being settled into New Asgard, Thor still barely left his cottage. Not that I could blame him, I understood he was grieving in his own way. But his people needed to see him, needed to know he was coping…somewhat. They couldn’t keep looking to Valkyrie or myself for leadership. I wasn’t cut out for it, even if I had been queen once before.

But this was different, these people were rebuilding their entire lives on a planet they weren’t familiar with. And I didn’t know how much longer I could keep their spirits up. If I was failing to look after myself, how could I look after anybody else? Valkyrie was the only one who was keeping it together, going above and beyond to help everyone.

Losing Loki was something I was used too or at least I thought I had been. I mean, it’s not like he hadn’t faked his death twice before. At first, I had expected him to walk through the door with a stupid smirk on his face, claiming it was another elaborate joke. But after six months, it became clear he wasn’t coming back from this one. I was alone once more.

The nights were difficult, eating dinner alone, going to bed alone. The silence was awful. But the lack of human contact was the worst. I longed to be held again, to be comforted. It felt like I was stuck in some sort of limbo, unsure of my next step, just existing and trying to make it through each day.

Loki would have been bored here at first, it was just a small fishing village after all. But eventually I believed he would have settled; Thor and Loki would have helped their people rebuild in no time at all.

And maybe then we could have started our own family, something we’d talked about a few times before. Thor would have made a wonderful uncle, and Loki would have been a better father than Odin and Laufey combined. But all those hopes for the future were gone now, as was my husband.

———————————————————————————————————–

Valkyrie and I stood by the docks as the latest shipment was unloaded. Valkyrie was handed a box that was addressed to Thor. A few more were eventually placed beside her.
“You want a hand with those?” I asked.
“Sure.”
Grabbing what I could carry, Valkyrie, and I set off to Thor’s cottage.
“So, he’s discovered Amazon Prime,” I spoke.
“Yeah, Korg introduced him to it, there are packages every week.”

That probably meant there were a lot of unnecessary purchases. We reached the cottage, and Valkyrie paused outside.
“You can just leave them outside and I’ll grab them in a sec,” Valkyrie said.
I frowned softly, I’d carried them all this way, I could carry them inside. It had been a while since I’d seen Thor anyway, so it couldn’t hurt to poke my head in and say hello at the very least.
“Its fine, I’ve carried them this far,” I replied.

Valkyrie seemed hesitant to let me inside, as if hiding something.
“Val, what’s going on?” I asked.
“It’s just neither of you have really been around each other since we got here. Everyone kinda assumed you don’t want to talk or something.”
She was right; I hadn’t been over to see or talk to Thor, and he hadn’t been over to do the same. To everyone else, it would look like we were avoiding each other.

“I guess we’ve just been so focused on our own grief that we haven’t thought of what the other person is going through,” I explained.
“You don’t have to go in if you’re not up to it.”
“I can’t keep avoiding it, either.”
“Okay. Well, just brace yourself.”
It couldn’t be that bad. Valkyrie opened the door and led me inside. The first thing I noticed was the lack of natural light. The curtains were all closed, and the only light source was from the TV.

The second thing I noticed was the smell. A mixture of takeout food, beer and body odour. The place was littered with takeout wrappers, empty bottles of alcohol and dirty clothes. Korg and Miek were on the couch, Korg had a gaming controller in his hand whilst Miek ate from a box of cheez-its. There was no sign of Thor, though. Korg looked up and smiled kindly.
“Good morning, ladies. The big man isn’t up yet, but I can get him if he’s needed,” Korg greeted.

Glancing at the clock, I noted it was 11:42 and Thor was still asleep.
“Yeah, thanks Korg,” Valkyrie replied.
Korg paused his game and got up, heading deeper into the cottage. Valkyrie and I put the parcels down but didn’t take a seat whilst we waited. The more time that passed, the more I wanted to back out of here and the situation. After ten minutes, Korg returned to the living room.
“Just give him five minutes to sort himself out,” Korg explained.
Well, I suppose that was better than him refusing to get out of bed or saying he didn’t want to see me.

“I’ll make some coffee,” I suggested.
Before anybody could reply, I escaped to the kitchen. The kitchen was just as bad as the living room. More takeout wrappers, the trash can was overflowing, and the sink was filled with dirty dishes. After turning the kettle on, I searched the cupboards for a few clean mugs. There were only two, so I started washing up some of the dirty ones. I was all too familiar with this mess; I’d gone through it before. Now I’d just gotten better at hiding my depression, I suppose I had too when so many people were depending on me. If they saw me fall apart, they would lose hope.

I didn’t get to sit around and wallow in my self-pity all day; I had to be on the high functioning end of the spectrum. But Thor probably hadn’t experienced such despair before, and this was just easiest for him. I had to be gentle and understanding with him. As I made everyone but myself a mug of coffee, that’s when Thor finally appeared. And this year had not been kind to him. His hair was longer, dirty and unkempt, as was his beard. He’d gained a lot of weight, his stomach much rounder and fuller. He was wearing loose, comfortable clothes.

Thor forced a smile when he saw me, one that didn’t quite reach his eyes. He pulled me in for a hug, which I gladly accepted. For a few moments we just held each other, this was probably the most physical human contact either of us had had in months.
“It’s good to see you,” he spoke softly.
I nodded in agreement before we pulled away. Thor grabbed a mug of coffee before we sat at the kitchen table together.
“How have you been?” He asked.
I gave a soft shrug, my feelings didn’t matter right now, “coping. You?”

Thor studied me for a few seconds, as if trying to decide how to answer my question.
“You’ve done something with your hair. It’s longer than before. Looks like it could do with some hair dye too, although I don’t mind your natural hair colour.”
Gently I lifted a section to my eyeline, noticing just how much the brunette colour had grown out. And combined with the remaining purple, it looked like a weird ombre. Most days, I avoided looking in the mirror, not worrying about my appearance anymore.
“You’re looking thinner too,” Thor grabbed a pizza box, offering me a slice of cold leftovers, “eat.”

The mere sight of food made me feel nauseous. I only really ate now at dinner; I was too busy in the day to stop for lunch and normally woke up too late to have breakfast. I politely declined his offer. Thor shrugged and took a bite from the cold slice.
“Thor, how are you?” I asked again.
“Me? Oh, I’m fine,” he said, his voice wavering slightly.
Gently, I placed my hand over his, noticing how he avoided my gaze.

“It’s okay if you’re not fine,” I said softly, “considering everything you’ve been through. I’m here if you want to talk about it.”
Thor paused. I knew, considering who his father had been, it must be hard for him to open up and be vulnerable. But he needed to if he wanted to heal.
“I just miss having him around, you know. I would have thought after going through this twice before that the third time would be easy. But this time he really is gone. First my mother, then father. Then I lost my hammer and my home and now Loki’s gone too. Everything I had is gone, Father was wrong to think I was ever worthy.”

Tears streaked his cheeks, and he quickly wiped them away with his free hand.
“And all of this, the way the world is now, that’s all on me,” he continued.
“How? How is any of this your fault?”
Thor scoffed, slipping his hand out from under mine, obviously frustrated.
“I failed to kill Thanos. Because of my stupidity, half the population is gone…I couldn’t even protect my brother from him. What good am I?” He explained.
Thor was visibly angry, but I knew it was more at himself than me. He was beating himself up for something he couldn’t have helped.

Thanos had been stronger than all of us combined, it hadn’t been anybody’s fault. We’d tried everything we could have. Now we had to mourn our losses before trying to rebuild.
“You’re still the king that these people need. If you were truly a failure, then none of those people out there would be alive,” I reminded him.
“Their home is gone because of me. I’m not a king, I’m not fit or worthy to lead those people. You don’t need my help to lead, you’re doing great.”

Biting down on my tongue, I held back from telling him the truth, from telling him how I was close to my breaking point. This wasn’t about me; this was about him. And snapping at him for saying the wrong thing wouldn’t help the situation. But there was also only so much I could do or say to him. And it was clear anything I said was falling on deaf ears. I couldn’t make Thor believe me; I couldn’t change him in a day.

And I think I was done trying for today, I didn’t want this to escalate and then I said something that would undo any progress. Taking a calming breath, I forced a hint of a smile.
“And I need to get back to them, I promised to help down at the docks,” I excused.
Thor’s face dropped slightly to hear I was leaving so soon.
“I can come back tomorrow?” I suggested.
“Of course.”

We shared another embrace before we headed to the living room. Val had waited for me, offering a smile when she saw us. Goodbyes were exchanged before Val and I left.
“How did it go?” She asked.
“As I expected, not great. He’s blaming himself for everything, including things that were always out of his control.”
“Kinda sounds familiar.”

Side eyeing her, I ignored her comment. Thor was different, he hadn’t been through anything like this before and didn’t know how to process and deal with these emotions, unlike myself.
“I said I’d visit him again tomorrow; thought I could clean up the kitchen. Living like that will not help him,” I replied, changing the subject.
“I don’t even want to think how bad his bedroom looks.”
“Or the bathroom.”

Part 3

Raven

The President variant had been keeping me captive for a month now, it was getting harder to resist his advances now. It felt wrong to be giving into a man who, whilst mirrored my husband physically, was not the man I had grown to love. Although they did share some more unsavoury personality traits. It felt wrong to give into him, but he knew me inside out, he knew exactly what to do and say to get what he wanted from me. And every time I tried to resist him; he found a new way to make me cave in.

Last night he’d edged me for two hours straight just so I would beg for his cock, so I would beg him to let me cum. Slowly but surely, he was trying to mould me into the Raven from his timeline. Into the perfect submissive. He just hadn’t expected me to be so mouthy and that’s what bothered him most, that I would still try to resist him, that I wouldn’t just give in instantly like he was so used to.

He led me down the hall to his ‘office’. Although it was just a large room with mismatched office furniture and tattered curtains, rugs and cushions. I suppose it was the best he could do in The Void. He’d ‘granted the luxury’ of letting me wear clothes through the halls, not wanting his men to see ‘what should be for his eyes only’. When he wasn’t with me, I’d be confined to his bedroom in whatever lingerie he conjured for me to wear.

Opening the door, he gave me a small shove inside before locking the door behind him, meaning he had something planned, as he didn’t want us to be disturbed. Standing behind me, he placed his hands on my shoulders and kissed at my neck.
“Your always so tense, pet. I would have thought you would have learnt to loosen up by now,” he spoke.
“Or is it you wish I wasn’t being so difficult anymore?” I replied.
“It would be much more enjoyable for both of us if you didn’t try to fight me every time.”
“I don’t know how many times I need to tell you, but you’re not my husband.”

“I’m well aware, pet. And I still don’t understand what’s so good about him compared to me.”
“Are you sure you want me to tell you? I wouldn’t want to bruise your sensitive ego.”
He chuckled, wrapping his hand around my throat, which only proved my point.
“A trait I’m sure I share with your husband,” he taunted, “now tell me. I’m intrigued by this lesser version of myself.”
This was the first time he’d shown any kind of interest or even allowed me to talk about him. Anytime I had mentioned my Loki before, I would be muzzled as a form of punishment.

“He’s unlike anyone I’d ever met before. He never cared about my past and the things I’d done, he didn’t see me as something that immediately needed fixing or broken beyond repair. And yet with him I feel a sense of peace that’s not achievable on my own. He only ever wanted me to be happy and safe, even if he didn’t always go about it in the best way. But I’d never met anyone as a caring, or kind or charming as him, someone who was as good at listening as him. I’d never been as happy as when I was with him,” I explained.
The more I spoke about him, the more I realized just how much I missed him. I didn’t understand why he hadn’t found me yet. The President variant ran his fingers through my hair as if to offer comfort.

He turned me to face him, looking down at me with a look of pity. For a moment I thought I had maybe gotten through to him, that he had a heart after all. And maybe, just maybe, he would consider letting me go.
“He sounds like a complete pansy. I can see why he fell for you, you’re clearly the man in the relationship.”
Scowling at him, I tried to step back out of his grasp, but he only pulled me closer, so my chest was pressed to his.

“I wasn’t finished, pet. Don’t make me reconsider this…gift. Whilst I cannot and will not bring a lesser version here, I can make a clone in his image.”
“Why? Why would you do that? Is it some kind of mind game you want to play?”
“Not quite. No matter what I try, you still insist on trying and failing to resist me. So, I’m hoping by giving you a part of what you want will get you to relax a little more.”
I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at him, of course he had a hidden agenda. Anything ‘nice’ that came from him was going to be held over my head and used against me later.

Before I could protest further, I felt a familiar set of lips across my neck. Closing my eyes, I once again fought internally with what was right and wrong. The clone placed its hands on my hips but not in a possessive manner like the President variant. This touch was kinder, softer.
“It’s alright, darling. I’m here now. Everything’s going to be okay,” the clone whispered in my ear.
I wanted to believe his words even if I knew they were lies which seemed fitting, considering who they were coming from. Maybe just this once I could go along with it.

The clone continued to kiss at my neck, a slight desperation in them as if he needed me, as if he’d missed me. Desire ran through me, and I needed more. Turning to face him, I couldn’t help but smile at the sight of my husband. Even if it wasn’t real, I could just pretend for a little while. Loki cupped my cheek before leaning down to kiss me slowly, savouring the feel of my lips against his. My body immediately felt at ease, melting into the kiss, and the small voice of resistance in my head was silenced.
“Let me show you how much I’ve missed you,” Loki murmured.

Before I could respond, he pressed his lips to mine again, his fingers threading through my hair. I heard The President step away, although I knew he would still be lurking nearby. No way he was going to just sit back and watch without some kind of involvement. The clone wrapped an arm around my waist to pull me flush against him as he deepened the kiss. His tongue worked against mine, groaning softly against my lips. He kissed me until I was breathless, the heat between my legs now a dull ache.

Loki unzipped my dress, letting the green silk pool at my feet. His hungry gaze swept across my body before he was on me again. Picking me up, he wrapped my legs around his waist before carrying me further into the room.
“I need to taste you again,” he insisted.
He placed me down onto The President’s lap who had been sitting on the chaise lounge. The President locked an arm around my waist in case I tried to wriggle away.
“Don’t forget about me, pet. I expect you to show me how grateful you are for your gift,” he smirked.

Of course, he did, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at his words. The clone placed a firm hand on my thigh to get my attention. Meeting his gaze, I noticed the slight disappointment across his features.
“Darling, you know better than to be so defiant. This variant has taken you in, giving you a roof over your head, clothed you and fed you when such things are difficult here. He could have left you out there, alone. Is that what you would have wanted?” Loki asked.
“But-“

“But nothing. Keeping your rescuer happy is in your best interest, otherwise he may throw you out after all. And there are much worse things out there that he wouldn’t be able to protect you from.”
What he was saying made sense. The President Variant had kept me safe from Alioth, and there is the possibility I could have been found by worse variants. I was never hungry or cold here.
“Show your gracious host some gratitude,” Loki continued.
I was still a little hesitant. And both of them could sense this.

Loki grasped my chin, that look of disappointment returning.
“What if I found you? Do you think I would want you if I knew you had taken a lover, no less another version of me?” He asked.
Dread filled me at the thought, my Loki probably wouldn’t want me if he knew. He’d be too hurt, too angry to listen to reason. He’d leave me here, alone. Loki released me and I looked at The President over my shoulder.
“…thank you,” I said hesitantly.
Leaning in closer, I pressed my lips to his. The President smiled into the kiss, his hand wrapping around my throat.

“You can show me how thankful you are by keeping my cock warm,” he smirked.
The clone pulled my panties off before adjusting me so The President could free his hard cock. Pulling me down onto him, we both moaned at the feeling of him filling me. Loki smiled at the sight before spreading my legs and diving between them eagerly. He lapped at my clit, groaning hungrily at my taste. We all knew how skilled Loki’s tongue was, but to be filled with his cock at the same time brought the pleasure to a whole new level.

I was unable to hold back my moans and whimpers as the clone alternated between licking and sucking my clit. The President kept a possessive hand around my throat, whispering words of encouragement in my ear.
“Such a good girl. I can already feel your walls clenching around my cock, pet. And you’re already dripping, I bet he can taste it,” he said.
The clone groaned hungrily again in response.

One of my hands tangled in the clone’s hair to pull him even closer whilst the free one gripped The President’s arm.
“Are you going to cum, pet? Cum, cum around my cock and on his face. I want to feel it,” The President continued.
The pleasure was building faster than I could keep up, and soon enough I was tipped over the edge. My orgasm hit me hard, my head thrown back against The President’s shoulder, my nails digging into his arm as I cried out my release. The clone worked me through every wave, holding my legs still.

“Fuck, you feel so good cumming around me, pet,” The President growled in my ear, “I want you to do it again.”
The clone hadn’t stopped once now, working me into overstimulation. His grip tightened on my legs as I trembled against his tongue. The President held me still by my neck, kissing my cheek.
“Come on, pet, I know you’ve got a few more in you,” he encouraged.
In the short time I’d been here, I knew this was The President’s favourite game to play with me. Seeing how many times he could make me cum before, I was either begging or crying for him.

Just to be cruel, his hips bucked against mine, earning another pathetic whimper from me. Thankfully, the pain soon gave way to pleasure.
“Now, pet, how should the two of us have you? Perhaps your dearest husband could fill your ass whilst I continue to enjoy your cunt. Or would you prefer it the other way around?” The President listed.
I struggled to form an answer, only able to moan and gasp as the pleasure built once more.
“Or maybe you’d prefer him to watch as I make you scream for me,” he continued.

With a few more flicks of the clone’s tongue, I reached my second orgasm, moaning their name over and over like a prayer. The President growled low in my ear as my walls clenched around his cock again. His self-control was impressive, I would have thought…or maybe I wanted him to seek his own pleasure by now. My body jerked as I worked to the point of overstimulation a second time, but both of them continued to hold me still, their grip becoming bruising. Tears pricked at my eyes as I let out yet another pathetic whimper. I didn’t know how much more I could take until I was sobbing. Just a few seconds to rest would have been greatly appreciated.

“One more, pet. You can handle one more, can’t you?” The President asked, a challenge clear in his voice.
Not wanting to disappoint him or the clone, I nodded weakly. The President chuckled, kissing across my jawline.
“That’s my good girl,” he praised.
The overstimulation began to fade until it was replaced with pleasure, my body relaxing against The Presidents. He released my throat, now tracing my lips with his fingers. Acting on pure instinct and need, I took his fingers in my mouth, sucking the two digits.

“Oh, I know exactly how we should have you now, pet. I’ve been dying to claim your throat,” he determined.
I moaned around his fingers before he retracted them with a short laugh. It wasn’t much longer until the clone pushed me over the edge a third time; the orgasm leaving me limp and breathless. But finally, the clone pulled away and allowed me to come down from my high. But not for long. The clone of my husband picked me up and carried me over to the desk. Putting me down, he kissed across my neck and up to my lips.

I accepted the kiss eagerly as he fumbled to open the trousers of his robes. He pressed the thick head of his cock against my wet entrance, coating himself in my juices. Even after I had been filled only minutes ago, I still ached for it. Loki pushed into me, groaning as he sunk every inch of his cock into me. He paused once he was buried to the hilt, leaning down to capture my lips with his once more. The kisses were hungrier, needier as he threaded his fingers through my hair.
“You’ve been such a good girl for us,” the clone whispered against my lips.

My heart swelled at the praise; my mind was desperate to continue to please them. Loki clasped my neck, turning my head to look at The President and holding me there. The President watched us, smirking softly at the display. Yet he remained on the chaise lounge, although his glistening cock showed no signs of losing its hardness. Meeting his gaze, I pleaded with my eyes for him to join us. But it wasn’t good enough. He wanted me to beg for it verbally.
“Please…sir,” I asked.

Thankfully, that was good enough for him as he got to his feet and approached. My head hung off the end of the desk, the clone grasping my hips as he started a fast pace. The President stood before me, his cock inches from my mouth. Grasping himself at the base of his cock, he traced my lips with the head, smearing my juices across them. My tongue darted out, tasting myself. Pulling back a little, his cock was now just out of reach of my open, waiting mouth. I couldn’t help the desperate whine that escaped my throat.
“So desperate to clean my cock. Or are you more desperate to taste yourself off it?” He taunted.

I tried to coax him in, reaching out for him with my tongue, but it was still just out of reach. At this point I didn’t care if I was allowed to cum again, I just wanted him in my mouth. The clone snapped his hips against mine, forcing a moan from me. The President’s smirk had grown wider.
“There’s my cock hungry whore,” he marvelled.
“P-please, sir.”
His smirk turned to a triumphant grin at his victory, and at last he pushed his cock into my mouth. It was easier to take him without gagging as much in this position.

The President only stopped when my lips were at the base of his cock, the head making my throat bulge. He groaned at the tightness, gently stroking across my throat as he enjoyed the sight for a few moments. The President fucked my throat, matching the clone’s pace. All I could do was lie there and be used by both of them, give up control to them. The clone wrapped my legs around his waist, his touch and pace more tender than The Presidents.

I moaned around The President’s cock as the clone reached between my legs to rub my clit.
“If you like being filled with two cocks this much, pet, then perhaps next time I’ll have all your holes filled. And I’ll make sure to claim your ass as it’s the only thing left that doesn’t yet belong to me,” The President spoke.
I could only moan in response, my fourth orgasm building quickly. Within seconds I was cumming, my cries muffled by the cock down my throat. My nails dug into my palms as they found no purchase in the smooth oak beneath me.

The next to cum was the clone, his grip tightened on my hips as he groaned my name and the warmth of his seed filled me. And finally, The President gave one final hard thrust down my throat before cumming with a guttural growl, riding out the shock waves of his orgasm against my face. Swallowing his seed, I was glad to be able to catch my breath as he pulled out. The clone had since vanished, although the evidence he’d been there was currently leaking out of me and onto the desk.

The President smiled down at me, cupping my cheek and stroking my hair with his free hand.
“See, it’s not so bad when you submit to me, is it?” He asked, the question clearly rhetorical.
Unable to form words just yet, I gently shook my head. It wasn’t bad at all.

Part 2

President Loki

Time seemed to pass differently in the void, not that time mattered anymore. The main thing here was avoiding Alioth in order to stay alive. In the time I’d been here, however, I had appointed myself as leader and gained a band of loyal followers. Who else better than me to rule? I had prior experience, so it made perfect sense. I had tried many times to escape this hell, to find a way to return to my own timeline, but it didn’t seem possible anymore. I was doomed to reside here until I died.

There were other Loki’s here, three that I knew of. There was an unspoken agreement to stay away from each other, not that any of them were a threat. I would eliminate the competition for my throne soon enough, one of them would eventually try to stab me in the back. We were Loki’s; it was in our nature.

It was another uneventful morning, and it was getting more difficult to find ways to entertain myself. There still wasn’t much to rule over, few people to order around. I just had it sit around and wait. Wait for my scouts to report back with more land to conquer or more people to recruit. If they came back. A lot of them had already been killed by Alioth.

The door to my ‘office’ opened and one of my most trusted men entered. He knelt first, out of respect.
“Mr. President, one of the scouts found something that we thought might be of interest to you. A woman’s been found unconscious, purple hair, black clothes.”
Purple hair. I remember Raven had mentioned during her younger, more rebellious stage that she’d dyed her hair purple. Could it be her? Or perhaps another her from another timeline? Would she know who I was? Only one way to find out.

After a assembling a small team of men, we headed out, taking one of the larger vehicles. I had to admit; I was a mixture of nervous and excited. Excited to see her again, but nervous that it wouldn’t be my Raven. Although I’m sure I could work with whoever was waiting for me. Reaching the scouts’ location, I climbed out of the back of the van. And there, sprawled out in the grass, was Raven. But not my Raven.

Her hair was shorter, shoulder length, and dyed purple. Her makeup was darker, her lipstick shade matching her hair. But the most striking thing was her attire. She wore a black hooded top piece with a black feathered corset which accentuated her body in all the right places; the outfit was completed with black leather trousers and boots. Slowly, she came round, her eyes opening. She glanced around before her gaze settled on me, recognition flashing across her features.

“Loki?” She questioned.
So, I did exist in her timeline. And perhaps I could make that work to my advantage. Going to her, I offered her my hand to help her up, which she took. Gently, I cupped her cheek, noticing how she leaned into my touch.
“You’ll make a perfect replacement, pet. I’ve been dying for a blow-“
Raven cut me off as she struck me hard across the face. Obviously, this one was a lot feistier than what I was used to. No matter, I’d tamed her before, I could do it again. Whether that took days or weeks was up to her.

Raven continued to cuss me out, but I wasn’t listening, I was busy thinking of all the ways I was going to break her. Quickly, she realized I wasn’t listening and slapped me again. On her finger I spotted sight of a wedding ring. It didn’t take me long to put the pieces together. Her Loki must be pathetic if he let her get away with speaking like that. Conjuring a clone behind her, she was quickly restrained with Asgardian cuffs that would stop her from using any of her abilities. Raven struggled against the clone, demanding to be let go. Frankly, she’d done enough talking. Conjuring a muzzle to match her restraints, I secured it across her mouth to silence her.

If looks could kill, her glare would end my existence here and now. Even with the muzzle, she still tried to talk, the sounds muffled.
“What was that, pet? I can’t quite hear you around the gag.” I taunted.
Hoisting her over my shoulder, I carried her with ease back to the van despite her struggle. Her petite frame and height of 5’3’ was practically nothing to carry. Once inside, I placed her down and took my seat before pulling her down onto my lap. I adjusted her so she could feel just how hard I was for her. Raven shot me another signature glare as I snaked an arm around her waist to keep her still.

During the journey back, I gently ground my hips against hers for some much-needed friction. Raven refused to meet my gaze, but I bet she was wet just from feeling how hard I was for her. One hand worked its way up her spine, to the nape of her neck, before grabbing a fistful of her hair and pulling back gently.
“Don’t worry, pet. We’ll work on getting to know each other a lot better soon enough,” I sneered.

———————————————————————————————————–

Raven had spent the night chained in the basement, hopefully it would make her lose some of that attitude. If not, I’m sure I could find other methods. Opening the door to the basement, I flicked the light switch on before locking the door behind me. I wanted to make sure that we wouldn’t be interrupted. Raven squinted as the lights turned on, her vision slowly adjusting. Her wrists were bound above her head with a gold chain, and I had used my magic to give her a much more appealing outfit. She was practically gift wrapped for me.

The lingerie I had chosen was a green and black basque that had small gold snakes sewn across the green lace with matching crotchless panties and black stockings. My hands were already itching to get a hold of her.
“I’m sure you have a lot of questions, as do I. I’d be more than happy to answer them for you,” I said, “but let’s start with the basics, you are in a place we called the void thanks to the timekeepers. And you’re lucky I was the one that came across you, otherwise I don’t think you would have lasted very long against Alioth.”
“My main question is, when do I get out of here?” She asked.
“That entirely depends on you, pet. When you surrender yourself to me, only then will I let you out of your bonds.”

Raven was visibly unhappy with my answer, tugging at the restraints in the hopes they would give.
“I will never give myself to you,” Raven spat, “and when my Loki finds me-“
“If he finds you. Which I doubt. Which leads me to my first question. You recognised me; does he look like me?”
“Yes.”
Circling her, I came to a stop behind her, now admiring her from behind. Threading my fingers through her hair, I pulled her head back a little.
“In every way?” I smirked.

She tried to shake her head free of my grasp, but I tightened my grip to hold her still, my lips ghosting over the shell of her ear.
“I bet I do. But something tells me that despite our similarities, I’m the superior Loki.”
“Just because you happen to be a president in your timeline? My Loki was a king.”
Was? So, it didn’t last long then?” I chuckled, releasing her, before coming to face her again, “why settle for a lesser version when you can have me?”
“You said I would make a perfect replacement, does that mean that I exist in your timeline?”
“You do. You weren’t just my secretary; you were my submissive.”

Pursing her lips, Raven seemed to now regret having asked. Raven flinched away from me as I tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Which means I know your body better than you do,” I continued.
My hand wrapped around her throat in a possessive manner, making sure she held still and couldn’t try to shift away from me anymore. Leaning in, my lips were now inches from hers and it was taking a lot of willpower not to kiss her.
“I know all the right spots that will make you surrender to me. I know all the different ways I can have you dripping for me.”

Raven let out a soft, shaky breath, refusing to meet my gaze, and there was now a hint of tension between us. She could deny it all she wanted, but I knew I was starting to break down that hard exterior.
“I already told you, I won’t surrender to you,” Raven spat.
“You will. Willingly too. Because I don’t just know your body better than you. But your mind too. I know that you crave my touch, that my touch is the only one you trust considering your past. So, you can continue to deny yourself, pet, but we both know you’ll cave even if it takes hours.”
The tension reached new heights and I couldn’t hold myself back anymore, kissing her hard. Her sound of protest was ignored, making her resort to biting me. Pulling back, I could feel blood seeping from the small wound.

The little bitch even looked proud of herself for causing me injury, which only gave me more incentive to make her regret it. Smirking, I wiped away the blood.
“I’m going to enjoy breaking you, pet,” I said.
Removing my suit jacket, I draped it over the back of a chair before rolling my sleeves up. Raven tensed, readying herself for my next move. As much as I wanted to skip the foreplay and sink my cock into her, I knew I had to be patient in order to get what I wanted in the long run.

Standing behind her again, I pressed my body against hers as I gently kissed across her neck. Whilst she tensed further, there was no mistaking the sharp intake of breath as my lips made contact with her flesh. Smirking against her, I ghosted my fingertips down her side before resting my hand on her hip.
“For someone so determined to resist me, you aren’t saying no to me anymore,” I taunted.
“You’ve already made it clear you wouldn’t listen, anyway.”
“True. I’m sure I’ll have you begging for me soon enough.”

I nipped at her neck, sucking a purple mark into her pale skin to claim her as mine. Raven made a barely audible sound before biting down on her lip. My hand slid lower, unclasping her stockings.
“As good as you look in this, pet, I’m eager to see what’s beneath it again,” I said whilst unhooking the back of her lingerie.
I placed a kiss on the top of her spine before coming back round to face her. Untying the straps on the basque, I then pulled it from her.

My cock gave an eager throb at the sight of her body, something that would soon be mine. Once she gave in, she would be easy enough to train. I kissed a trail from her collar to her breasts, teasing her nipples with my tongue until they formed hardened peaks. A faint whine escaped Raven’s lips, her cheeks flushed with arousal and shame.
“Why fight your desires? We both know you want this, give in and your obedience shall be rewarded,” I bargained.
She remained silent, scowling at me in an attempt to hide her true emotions. But the cracks had already formed, it would be a matter of time before she crumbled.

My patience had worn thin, it had been forever since I had felt proper human contact, since I had felt the softness and warmth of her skin. And my right hand really was nothing compared to her. Reaching between her legs, I was pleasantly surprised to find her wet.
“I told you I know your body better than you do, pet. You’re already so wet and I’ve hardly done a thing,” I grinned.
She averted her gaze, refusing to look at me in a final act of defiance. Using my magic, I corrected her mistake and forced her to look at me.
“Ah ah ah, I want to see the look in your eyes when I make you cum, pet.”

Now that she was unable to look away or close her eyes, I rubbed her clit in gentle circles, wanting to tease her first. Raven’s lips pressed into a thin line, determined to stay quiet if nothing else. My cock ached and my mouth watered for her, my self-control slipping again as I kissed at her neck hungrily.
“I can’t wait to feel you on my cock,” I growled, “to hear you scream my name.”
Raven gasped as I sucked another mark into her neck, claiming her further. Increasing the pressure on her clit, I also sped up the pace, determined to make her cum.

Her cheeks turned from pink to red as she struggled to keep her breathing even. But despite her efforts, a soft moan soon tore free.
“That’s a good girl,” I praised.
With just a hint of praise, Raven seemed to relax a little, but I knew there was still a way to go.
“Don’t hold back, pet. It’s only us here, nobody else will hear you,” I encouraged her.
I coaxed another soft moan from her, her body relaxing further into my touch. Her thighs trembled as I edged her closer to her first orgasm.

My other hand wrapped around her slender throat, applying slight pressure.
“Cum for me,” I purred.
Unable to hold back her orgasm any longer, Raven let out a soft whimper before freeing her bottom lip and cursing aloud. My cock twitched again at the sight of her, at her moans as I worked her through every wave. Releasing her neck, I stroked across her cheek.
“Such a good girl for me.”
Using my magic to further my advantage, I kissed her again, as she was unable to fight back.

I took my time, still working her clit. Raven gasped against my lips at the aftershocks of her orgasm.
“You have no idea how long I’ve needed this, needed you,” I murmured.
Finally, I released her clit, bringing my fingers to my mouth to taste her. Just a hint of her taste had my mouth watering for more. Raven had no choice to watch as I cleaned my fingers of her juices and there was no mistaking the arousal in her eyes. She wanted more, but was still too stubborn to ask for it. Not that it mattered, I already planned to give her so much more.

“You want to cum again. Don’t you, pet?” I asked.
I released my hold over her, Raven now free to blink and move her head again. She didn’t deny my question, but she also didn’t answer. She likely felt shame for cumming for another man that wasn’t her husband, yet looked like him in every single way. I kissed a trail from her neck to her ear.
“I know you want it, want me. I know you’re too stubborn to ask and that’s fine, pet. Because I plan on making you cum until you can’t take it anymore. And once you’re nothing but a crying, whimpering mess for me, only then will I fuck you and truly make you mine.”

I expected a fiery response from her, but she stayed silent, refusing to meet my gaze. At least I had worked through her defiant, stubborn streak. This was progress, and that’s what mattered. And I’m sure I could get her to loosen her tongue again soon enough. Perhaps she’d even beg for my cock by the time I was finished eating her cunt. Lowering myself to my knees, I kissed across her thighs, working my way inwards. Surprisingly, she didn’t struggle even as I hoisted her legs over my shoulders, so the backs of her thighs rested on them.

My tongue delved between her folds, lapping at her wetness hungrily. Gripping her hips to keep her still, my tongue worked its way up to her clit. Raven’s breaths were ragged as I caressed the small bundle of nerves. I couldn’t help but groan at her taste, I’d missed being between her legs. My cock was painful hard and leaking, I didn’t know how much longer I could wait. I worked her clit harder, determined to make her cum quicker. Raven whined, still desperately trying to hold back her sounds of pleasure.

But it was no use as I forced her second orgasm from her, her moans and cries filling the room. I didn’t stop or slow down for a second, keeping to my earlier promise. She bucked against me as overstimulation set in, whimpering, but not once did she tell me to stop. Slowly but surely, I was winning her over. Her overstimulation quickly turned to pleasure again before she was cumming a third time.

I forced orgasm after orgasm from her, lapping up every drop of her juices. Raven was unable to stifle her sounds anymore, moaning for me without a hint of resistance. It wasn’t until her seventh orgasm that she was shaking for me, and I knew it wouldn’t be much longer until I could have her in the way I craved.
“L-Loki,” she whimpered, “please.”
Grinning, I continued, determined to force one more from her. Quickly Raven tumbled over the edge, crying out my name.

Finally, I ceased the torturous pleasure, getting to my feet to admire her quivering form. Tears rolled down her cheeks, yet her eyes begged for more. Her legs struggled to keep her up, the chains around her wrists being the only thing keeping her upright. Fisting her hair, I forced my tongue into her mouth so she could taste herself. She accepted the kiss, moaning softly into it. Gently, I held her chin between my thumb and forefinger. Even after turning her into a mess, I knew she was still desperate to have me inside of her.
“You’ve done so well, pet. But I think you’ve got one more left in you. After all, we haven’t gotten to the best part yet,” I spoke.
“I-“
“You don’t want to disappoint me now, do you, pet?”

The last of Raven’s defiance had been snuffed out, her walls completely broken down.
“Please,” she pleaded.
“Please what?” I smirked, wanting to hear her say it.
“Please…fuck me.”
“Such a cock hungry slut even after you swore you wouldn’t surrender to me. Does it still ache between your legs even after I’ve made you cum eight times? Do you need me to fill you in the way only I can?”
There was a moment’s hesitation from her before she swallowed her pride and nodded. Smirking, I used my magic to free her from her chains. I caught her before she could collapse to the floor, letting her rest her weight on me.

Picking her up with ease, I carried her over to the chair I had draped my jacket over earlier. Sitting down, I positioned her so she was straddling my lap before using my magic to recuff her wrists behind her back. Working open my belt and trousers, I freed my aching cock before pushing into her with ease from how wet she was. Both of us moaned loud at the much-needed contact, my fingers digging into her hips hard enough that she would likely have marks later.
“This perfect cunt is mine,” I growled.

My hips bucked against hers as I lifted her up and down on to my cock. Raven let me use her, moaning as I fucked her harder. She had no idea how good she looked like this, her back arched slightly as her breasts bounced from the quick pace, her eyes shut in pure pleasure as I forced more moans and gasps from her. The sight was one to savour.
“You always did look your best when you’re filled with my cock,” I grunted.
Leaning forward, I left more purple marks across her flesh as my own pleasure continued to build.

It wasn’t long before Raven’s ninth orgasm began to build, her walls starting to tighten as her moans became louder and frequent. And quickly she was dragging me under with her, but I needed her to cum again first.
“Cum for me,” I ordered.
Within seconds, Raven’s body tensed as she cried out my name and her walls clenched around my cock. The sound of my name coming from her lips was what tipped me over the edge. With one final hard thrust and a loud guttural groan, I filled her with my seed and truly claimed her as mine.

Raven went limp against me, and I wrapped my arms around her, kissing at her neck and shoulder lazily. Eventually, I found the strength to lift her off me, our combined fluids now staining the front of my trousers. It would likely be a little while before Raven could move again. Perhaps if her defiant side didn’t make another reappearance, I would allow her to stay in my own room. But if it did appear, I’m sure I could find other ways to earn her submission.

Worship Me - Loki x Reader

A/N: I’m possibly thinking a part two, have yet to decide. Comment if it is something you want to see.

Summary: The gods find themselves being basked in the praise of new followers. Yet Loki has yet to gain a single new one unlike Thor and Odin. That is until he hears his name in prayer and the request asked is more than fulfilled.

Warnings: breeding kink kinda and sex

As I sat at the grand table, picking at my plate in unenthused interest, I could hear father gloating again.

“Yes, I seem to have gained more of a following again, according to Heimdall many midguardians are looking to their ancestral ways for guidance and have picked up the old religion again.” He spoke with glee.

“Yes, I’ve been to many altars for me, adorn with offerings. I can even feel my powers grow from the worship.” Thor chimed.

I had yet to gain a single prayer, but who would pray for the god of mischief for guidance? It would be counterintuitive and no one is adventurous enough to try in my opinion. The conversation droned along and I had quickly tuned out as I idly studied the sheen skin of an apple that decorated a fruit bowl.

I very soon found myself feeling a little ill, perhaps I did mindlessly eat something that upset my stomach. I very quickly excused myself and departed, although I’m sure my absence was barely noted by anyone besides some servants and guards. I found myself right outside the closed doors, gripping a stone pillar as this weird sensation grew stronger.

“Loki,” a faint whisper rang in my ear, “Please, hear my prayer.”

My eyes shut and I swore instead of seeing the familiar darkness I could see a room instead. It was a small bedroom with candles strewn about. An S was depicted above the bed on the wall, made of two intertwined snakes, the symbol that I had always used to represent me. The room itself had colors of yellow, gold, black, and dark green shades, my colors.

I opened my eyes and I was back in the empty hall of the palace. A bead of sweat was on my brow as I felt my body tingle. I was being called upon. I didn’t know if this was excitement or the feeling of power that father and Thor spoke often about.

I closed my eyes again, bringing my vision back to the room and started to think about this place. The more I thought the more I could see. There was a writing desk, a wardrobe, the bed had black sheets with gold trip with a while canopy over.

Then finally, I opened my eyes and instead of the palace, I was in this room now. I had managed to transport myself over, something I hadn’t been able to do since I lost the tesseract. My eyes looked around before it settled on the sight on the floor.

Right before my feet, in a painted circle adorned with runes and candles, was a naked woman. At the top of her head was a small altar that sat on a silk cloth, and obviously dedicated to me. My symbol was painted on, with a candle lit for me as well as an offering of fruit, cheese, and wine. She didn’t seem to notice my presence, something about her summon probably left me unable to be seen by her. Father has spoken about it briefly, apparently our actions should be heard, but we were always unseen like ghosts.

I licked my lips as the woman started speaking for me again. “Loki, great god of mischief, bless me with a child. Bring me a child that can bring about chaos as this world no longer deserves the privilege of peace.” She said.

Oh…so this is what she wanted. Thor and Odin bragged often about their followers asking for protection and power. Offered them gifts, but not once did they have a follower offer their bodies. As far as I knew, I was the only one. Knowing them, it would definitely piss them off. They believed they deserved everything, including women.

“Loki…please give me a child,” she spoke out in a light whisper, eyes closed as she was starting to concetntrate. Perhaps to make sure I could hear her.

Well, if she was begging for me to gift a child, I shouldn’t disappoint those who wanted to follow me, and I didn’t want to disappoint my first follower the most.

She hummed as she started to touch herself. My eyes glued to her hands as they caressed her breasts and circled around her clit. I could feel my cock harden under my leather clothing. She let out a soft gasp as her fingers found themself buried into her cunt.

I could feel my body tingle again, but I knew it wasn’t from getting summoned somewhere else. I felt hot and I couldn’t bear the weight of my clothes as I continued to watch her. I undressed, my gaze still not leaving as her fingers pulled out, already glistening from her arousal. I couldn’t wait anymore and I was very ready to fulfill her request, the meager offering on my altar was nothing compared to what was at my feet.

Her knees came up before she spread them, giving easier access to her wonderful pussy. Her fingers help part her folds as if she was presenting to me what was being offered. I fell to my knees before her. My hand gripped my cock and stroked it briefly to ensure I could enter with ease before my tip dragged along her entrance. Her eyes darted behind me almost instantly and there was a smile.

“My god. You’re here, thank you Loki for hearing me. Take me please, I hope to be worthy of you,” she breathed. I looked back, and there was a mirror attached to her bedroom door. In it I could see more runes adorned on the glass. In the center was me, blue skin crimsoned-eyed and black hair. My horned crown was all that adorned me. Her gaze in the mirror was that of worship and lust, and fixated on me. She could see my reflection at least and she was enamored with it.

Her body lifted to my touch and her thighs started to show goosebumps. My hands braced on her hips and she whimpered as I pushed in slowly. All she could do is look in the mirror, giving open mouthed exasperations. She was speechless but she was grateful that I chose to honor her prayer.

“Loki,” she breathed shallowly, “My god. I’m yours to do with.”

I gritted my teeth, she was unbearably deliciously tight around my cock. It would be on par with her being mortal and I a god. I managed to completely fill her, her moans drawn out until I did. I waited a moment, ensuring her body adjusted and I was not finishing sooner than I wanted. Slowly, I pulled away before pushing back in, drawing a whimper and a cry of pleasure as her body twitched.

I brought myself to pick up my pacing and reveled as her body bounced with my thrusts. Her hands were over her head, gripping the short fabric of the carpeting, as much as she could see me, touching me was not possible. If she tried it was as if I was not there, but an area of cold air instead.

Her cries of my name spurred me to keep going as she begged for my child. She begged for me to fill her, begged that I breed her. Her begging turned to pleas and her eyes welled. The sex was overwhelming her.

“My god, my Loki. You are truly a master of the craft. If you decide not to breed me, take me as a concubine for your pleasure. I beg. I offer myself.” She cried out.

My hand came down to her clit and started to rub it, making her walls start to slicken as her arousal was growing with the further simulation.

It was surprising she had more to gain. her body was already so eager she was glistening with arousal as my tip was barely grazing her entrance.

Her hips desperately grinded against my fingers, chasing her own high while I chased mine.

However, the feeling of her body was too much for me to not want to draw it out and I slowed my movements slightly. If she was as amazing before finishing, she would be having me pray to a god when she was done.

Her arousal was starting to become more audible the more she was worked. Her moans grew in volume as her back arched. “Loki…”she panted, “My god so generous, please use me all night if I can cum. Fill me completely, please I pray to you. I want to be filled with your seed.”

I smiled at how she reveled for me. Her whines and moans quickly turned to screams and a final slip of my name had her cumming right in my cock. I grunted as it triggered my release, making her walls milk me of my seed. She was a true godsend and a follower I knew I wasn’t going to let leave my sight from now.

As we came down she was looking towards me. “Please, Loki…don’t stop just yet. Please, please fill me.” Tears streamed down her face as her chest rose and fell, “I wish to fill your needs.”

I just smirked as I felt the twitch of my cock. This was a request I was more than happy to fulfill.

Memory Lane

Requested By:@electroma89

Pairing: Loki x Avenger!Reader

Summary: Reader gets shot while on a mission causing them to slip into a small coma and lose their memories. Loki worries as he feels the reader is his only true friend.

Warning(s):Blood(?)

A/N: I’m so sorry for taking so long! But I’ve always been planning on doing something like this as I’ve seen it been done before, but a classic can always be changed for our reading pleasure. Thank you for requesting! They’re open and I love your guys’ feedback!

Loki’s POV

It all occurred so suddenly. Upon their arrival, the Doctor called Strange was running through Stark’s tower like a mad man. Behind him trailed y/n. She was not in the condition in which I remembered. She laid upon a stretcher, blood littered among her torso. Rogers was gripping upon the towel pressed against the wound. It was as if time stood still when I shouted at them from the top of my lungs. Wretched beings, I was presumed to be her accomplice that evening…but as if I were a helpless child, I was scolded not to attend. The avengers’ idea of y/n’s complete and utter diligence consisted of an environment where I was not present.

I consistently threw the fact of my absence being the reason she was in her condition, in all of their faces. She remained in a coma like state for 2 weeks, and every single day as I sat next to her bed side I heard stories of relation from others. By now it was wasted breath, I knew this was my fault. I should’ve went along despite their protests, I’ve never been one to follow the rules…I chose the wrong time to start.

Alongside me, was my brother and y/n’s parents. Unlike most of us in this place, y/n was still granted her parents. They both possessed meta human abilities that resembled their daughters. She chose a different path than them by using her abilities to help those without. I admired this about her greatly. Of course I lived in a tower alongside various people doing the same, including Thor…but y/n was just different. Her simple existence was far more carefully crafted than anyone I’ve ever encountered.

As I sit outside the bed room, her parents speak softly to her. They’ve done this every moment they were able. Knowing of our endearing and complicated friendship, they’ve allowed me to do the same.

“Y-Y/N…oh my god honey, we’re here baby.” Y/N’s mother trembled. I quickly got up from the ground and burst through the door to see y/n staring back at me.

Y/N’s POV

Where am I? I…I think I was shot. The last thing I felt before I blacked out was a burning through my core and…and I think I hit my head on the ground? Wow…I never thought I’d have a headache this painful. Why can’t I open my eyes? They’re just so..heavy. Come on y/n..get up. Then it happened. My eyes slowly fluttered open…where the hell am I?

“Y-Y/N…oh my god honey, we’re here baby.” It was my Mom.

I began blinking a few times when I turned to face Mom and right beside her, Dad. They both clutched my wrist as I attempted to croak out my words.

“W-where?..”

“Oh no Y/N baby, don’t struggle. It’s okay. Don’t rush.” My dad said. My eyes travelled around the room, something I didn’t recognize at all. Suddenly a man of large stature rushed in…another thing I could not recognize.

“Y/N…” The man spoke. How did he know my name? I’ve never met this man in my life. He was dressed in green and black clothing…weird clothing, maybe a costume. Wait—am I in Avengers tower?

Just then a glowing golden circle appeared next to my bedside and out came a man in a red cloak that appeared to be levitating on it’s own.

“Glad to see you’re awake.” He stated.

“When did I fall asleep?…” I asked in a raspy voice.

“Two weeks and a day ago,” He attached different wraps to my body as well as wires, “Your vitals seem to be stable. Okay now, what’s your name?”

“Y/N…Y/L/N. Where am I?”

“Well that answers that question.” He removed the wires once more. My dad held onto my hand and my mother gazed at me, teary eyed.

“Y/N sweetie, can you try to remember this room?” Her voice sounded like glass ready to shatter at any given moment. My body began to tense and suddenly the machine next to me began beeping louder.

Just as it did, Tony Stark ran into the room along with a blonde man…Steve Rogers? I am in Avengers tower. Why the hell am I here?

“Y/N-“ Tony spoke. I recognized him from TV, he was the iron man. I looked up to this man.

“Everyone calm down, her blood pressure is rising too fast. Give her a second.” The odd looking doctor spoke. He then made sure he was in front of my confused eyes fully. I kept making eye contact with the black haired man…he wouldn’t stop staring at me. “Y/N…what is the last thing you remember?”

“I-I…Burning. My stomach burned and I hit my head. Is that why I’m here? Was there another attack? I-I didn’t know Stark Towers takes in patients…” my voice drifted.

Suddenly everyone gave each other weary gazes. They all seemed to be in on a joke that I had no recollection of. How did my parents know Tony Stark? Were they doing hero work behind my back?

“…This may be a lot to take in-“ The Doctor began speaking before the black haired man cut him off.

“—For Gods sake Strange, what is this? Y/N, do you know who I am?”

I felt a wave of pain hit me…it seemed like I should know this man. The way he looked at me made me want to know him so badly.

“I-I don’t…I’m sorry.” But I didn’t know him at all.

The look on his face said it all, he was hurt. He stood up straight and looked towards the Doctor for answers.

“It seems you have gotten a slight case of amnesia—but don’t panic. You’ve just awakened and your recovery time is not estimated at this moment.” Just then I felt my body weaken. How was I a stranger in my own mind? How long was this going to last?

Loki’s POV

Weeks have gone and passed. Y/N’s family decided it was best that she got back into the course of the life she had prior to her injuries. It was as if she were reliving her days as if they were her first in the compound. Just as before, Stark has introduced her to the technology that enticed her mind. Rogers shared stories of his history and helped train her along with Romanoff.

I’ve attempted to keep my distance as Strange said revealing things without her realizing it on her own, could cause possible damage. It would be too hard to hide the fact of…our last conversation before she lost her memories. I had alas asked her to accompany me on a romantic evening as I have strong feelings towards her…she agreed. Though…we agreed to keep it between us, nobody knows of our shared intimacy. Though they know of our bond, it’s been less of a hassle for me here since her accident. I suppose some do have empathetic tendencies. I planned to keep my distance for an extended amount of time, that was till she snapped me out of my concentration.

“Hey…Loki? Sorry to bother, I was just hoping you could maybe help me with something.” She said from behind me.

I felt my soul nearly leap from my body hearing her nervous voice. I looked away from the spell book placed in front of me, my hovering came to an end as I now stood to my feet. I clear my throat and turn to face her.

“And what would that be Y/N?”

She carefully folded her hands in front of her, “Well um…I was wondering if you could help me regain what I’ve lost…” That’s when I felt my stomach drop. Yes, I have the ability to make people remember and relive their memories…even their worst ones. Strange and all the others told me not to meddle due to y/n’s health. I cared enough about her to remain outside of her mind.

“I don’t suggest that your primary doctor recommended me, had they?” I arch my eyebrow looking at her nervous stature. She was always nervous around me in the beginning. Looking as if she were a porcelain doll and I, a large hammer waiting to disrupt.

“No,” she laughed quietly, “Thor actually. He told me that he thinks I’m stable enough to handle what I’ve missed…So can you help me? Please.” Y/N pleaded.

I rub my temple with two of my fingers, “He’s an oaf,” I sigh, “but he only means well…come. Follow me.”

Y/N’s POV

When Loki said he’d helped me, I was over the moon. Everyone has kept it a secret of what his actual capabilities were. I suppose that only added to my curiosity and manifested into the intimidation of who he is. When Thor told me what his brother can do to help me I knew this was why no one would detail his powers when I asked, like I had asked about all the others.

Sitting on the floor of his room, I watched him as he removed his fingerless gloves and cautiously sit on the floor. He looked slightly more nervous than I had and it was odd.

“Now,” he sat crosses legged in front of me, “Recovering from the trance isn’t always great. It can make you not snap back into your reality immediately, you need to understand that what I am going to show you is something you’ve loved already. I promise I will not add anything new…I also apologize in advance if you remember something’s…that I’m not exactly proud of.” Loki replaced his usual taunting face with one of sincerity. I knew he meant what he said. He gave me no other reason not to trust him.

“We all do things…I’m just tired of feeling like a stranger in my own mind. No one understands—It’s horrible.” I looked down at my knees and gulped.

Loki sighed and looked down as well, “I can say honestly that I know exactly what you mean…” I looked up at him quickly but he looked away, “—Okay let’s get started. May I?” He asked lifting his hands up to touch my cheeks.

When he did this, I blushed. I was completely worried he would feel how warm they were. I agreed anyways, “You may.” The touch of his palms on my cheeks felt familiar and even though they were warm, his hands immediately cooled them down.

“Close your eyes.” He said and took a deep breathe. After I did so, I felt a light push on my head and I was no longer in the bedroom.

Where was I? My surroundings were as if I were there reliving every little detail. Fighting off bad guys in the early mornings, meeting Tony, meeting everyone else. I convinced my parents to let me live in the tower. The tower! It was all I wanted, I remember this. They’re my friends, we’re all close. Loki, he’s Thor’s brother. Adopted…everyone reminded. He…he was even more handsome then I remembered. He enjoys my company too, we actually are a great team out on the field. No wonder he missed me while I was knocked out. Wait…h-he kissed me. He likes me the same way…we’re going on a date soon! That mission, it’s not going well. What the hell?…Oh my God I got shot…there’s blood. Too much blood. It hurts so bad…I can’t die. Don’t let me die, please…

Loki’s POV

I release my hands from her face and she starts gasping loudly and immediately moves her hand to her old wound.

“Y/N, Y/N. It’s the illusion. Come back now. You’re okay.” I hold her arms in a solid grip and she looks at me. She furrows her eyes brows looking scared but…she looked different.

“I-I’m not bleeding…” she looks at her side.

“No love,” I say with a slight hint of sorrow remembering how I imagined life without her, “You’re in my room…you’re safe.”

She simply looked into my eyes and caught her breathe, she reached her trembling hand to my cheek. Her fingers felt the same and she quickly pulled me into a tight embrace. “I’m sorry,” she buried her face into my shoulder, “I didn’t mean to forget you…”

I held onto her tightly and chuckled lightly, “That’s quite alright,” my smile was blatantly obvious, “we needed a stroll down memory lane is all.” I spoke softly, happy that I had my best friend back.

Darkness

Pairing: Loki x Avenger!Reader

Summary: You have an power that is set off far more rapidly due to mood, you often reduce your feelings. Loki understands and helps you embrace your negative emotions.

Warning(s): Mental Health issues, Cursing, Angst

A/N: This isn’t the best organized story but sometimes we need to cry and this is a story about that. Ive also got a quote from somewhere that inspired me to write this. I’m not positive where from, though.

The ceiling. The ceiling is the first thing y/n spent staring at every morning for an hour. The composure was something she needed, to endure the rest of the day. Recently being able to do so had become more and more of challenge.

Just like any other day, she refreshened herself in the tower’s bathroom. However, she was in luck since she had the level all to herself. Typically Wanda would be in her chambers but she was on leave alongside Vision. They had taken up a small mission in Japan.

Today would be normal, quiet. Everyone would be to themselves and the day would be over just as quickly as it had started. Perhaps she would just take a walk around the park, see a movie alone. Avoid the others as much as she could without giving off the wrong impression.

Running a hand through her hair, she walked into the dining room. Suddenly all the voices that were speaking in hushed tones, silenced.

“Happy Birthday, y/n!” the team mates spoke in unison.

Y/N’s breath hitched in her throat as she glanced at the tower of iced and sprinkled waffles placed upon a silicone plate. Her eyes darted from the waffles to the nearby window and panic slightly spread through her body. Seeing the clouds pick up pace she took a deep breath and masked a smile. She couldn’t let her emotions get the best of her, her powers came with a horrid side effect. Weather change.

“Thank you guys,” she rubbed the back of her neck, “how’d you know?”

Folding the newspaper he was reading, Tony peeked behind his reading glasses, “Your file. Pepper did the honors of filing your birthday into the system last year when you joined the team.” He stood up and glanced at the waffles. “The tower of diabetes was the kid’s idea.”

Peter came into the dining room sliding with his socks upon his feet. “Aw! Did you guys surprise her without me?”

“If you had gotten up on time then you would’ve been here, kid.” Tony spoke after sipping on whatever was in his mug.

“Thank you Peter.” Y/N said after containing herself. She allowed a small smile as he embraced her gently. Along came birthday wishes from the rest of the team before they exited for their daily duties.

The one person y/n’s eyes searched for, was Loki. She met them when he was gently leaning against the marble counter. His eyes fixated on her as if he had been studying her since entered the dining room. Noticing her notice him, Loki lifted up the glass mug in her direction slightly without any words spoken. She delicately nodded as if to say, “Thank you for not making a huge deal of this nightmare of a day.”

Snapping her out of her thoughts, Thor placed a hand on her shoulder, “Congratulations on your day of birth lady y/n. Jane sends her best wishes.” A Congratulations wasn’t the term that should be used for such a day in her mind. It was…a mistake. Instead of indulging her new friend in her sorrows, she smirked and nodded.

“Thanks Thor, tell Jane thanks too.” He smirked and sat back down at the table.

Loki unfolded his arms from his chest and began walking forward. He met eyes with y/n and stared at her till he walked past her with the mug.

Loki and y/n shared an unspoken bond. They were both…different. They weren’t naturally gifted with being as honorable as their team mates. Both were once considered a villain of the public.

Y/N had been misguided while aging, raised by those with malicious intentions. This was only the path down the wrong road, that was until the avengers met her. Last minute, using her abilities for the greater good.

Now that she had a new found family, disappointing them was a crippling thought. Lately, the pressure was on. Any normal person suffering from these anxiety attacks could embrace them…feel them. Y/N on the other hand, anxiety was the first step in obliterating the streets with hectic winds and disaster.

In her eyes, being alone was a simpler task than interacting. Y/N glanced at the stack of waffles and sighed. There was a delicately iced spider right on top along with a little sun resembling her own power. She cradled the overly heavy plate and walked back towards her room and allowed the door to shut lightly behind her.

Loki glanced out the window of his bed room clenching the coffee mug in his pale hands. The skies were gray, typical for New York on a normal. However, the newscast had predicted otherwise as they were expecting sunny skies. Being the mischievous person he was, he snooped through y/n’s file upon her arrival. She was like him, a villain, in his right mind, he wouldn’t trust someone like this. Upon reading through her records, he discovered a few things about her. Ever since, analyzed and watched her in silence.

“Birthday blues?…” he mumbled while taking another sip.

Y/N glanced in the mirror as she popped two anti-depressant pills into her mouth. She barely recognized herself, if she thought she was furious with herself before…she was beyond a breaking point now.

“Y/F/N (friend’s name) you would’ve really enjoyed it here,” she sat upon her bed clutching the torn up teddy bear, “the coffee doesn’t taste like the shit we found outside Mc Donald’s.” Y/N’s transforming mission was also the one that cost her, her best friend. Survivors guilt was all that could describe her feelings. That, blaming herself for being brought into this world, not saving her…became a reaction to the mental battle she faced daily.

Memories roamed her mind and she gently closed her eyes in hopes of stopping them from racing. Sleep arrived, saving her from herself once more.

Hours later, Y/N stood in front of that haunting mirror image. Only this time it was decorated with an expensive dress and a mask of makeup. Instead of her bed room, it was the bathroom of the expensive venue Tony rented out for the evening. He had planned a birthday celebration with Pepper for y/n a month ago. Among the guests were her team mates, members of other teams, fellow company employees, along with their plus ones. Y/N had made her way to the bathroom for a simple breather. Mingling with people she hadn’t met before and being handed drinks she didn’t want to drink with food she didn’t want to eat, drained her.

As she exited the bathroom, she stood in the hallway staring at her phone. Her heels pressed into the fancy carpet as she bit her knuckle. An immense feeling of escape was bubbling and it was dancing with the fear of disappointing her friends.

“Alone when there’s such a…lovely? Party going on in your honor?” A voice spoke snapping her out of her trance.

Her face rose to meet the eyes of none other than Loki. She had to admit he did look amazing in a suit. “I um,” she smiled widely, “just about to head back.” Her face was pure lies and Loki knew it. It almost pained him to see it unfold before his own eyes when he knew the truth.

“Of course, after 30 minutes of standing in the lady’s room admiring yourself I’m guessing,” he sarcastically commented, “unlike the baboons I share a roof with, I notice my surroundings…all of the time.” He stepped closer to her. His eyes scanned her whole domineer, it baffled him how no other member took notice in her obvious suffering.

“What now? You going to go run and tell Tony how I hate this expensive and beautiful party he’s given me? Because if you are, it’s only going to cause more problems that I don’t need.” She slid her phone back into her purse.

Loki let out a soft chuckle, “The opposite actually. Come hither, we’re leaving.” He turned his back and began walking towards the exit in the hallway.

Y/N furrowed her eyebrows in confusion as to just what he meant. He glided with confidence that she’d follow, and she did. The shuffling of her dress made it known that she had. Soon they were outside and Loki had shifted from himself to Tony.

“W-what do you think you’re doing? What’s going on?” She said in a worried voice as she glanced around.

“Be quiet love, I’m taking you somewhere and I can’t let you ride on my back. Well…I can but that’s hardly appropriate.” He smirked and turned towards her.

Y/N groaned and rolled her eyes but remained silent. They approached the valet parking attendants and Loki cleared his voice, managing his best Tony impression. “Yes, can you fetch my car.”

The young man looked up quickly and said, “Oh Mr. Stark—why are you leaving so early?”

He looked towards y/n, “My dear friend here is a bit under the weather. I’m going to take her home. So please, my car.”

“Why yes of course sir, right away. Bring up Mr. Stark’s car.” He commanded another attendee.

Loki turned towards y/n and smirked. She crossed her arms and huffed beneath her breath, “You’re unbelievable. He’s going to find out and when he does, you’re not taking me down with you.”

Soon a shiny black Lamborghini was pulled in front of the two and y/n’s jaw nearly dropped. She was still not used to Tony’s luxurious living and this was astonishing.

Loki went to the car and opened her door for her as she entered. He got in through the other side.

“Thanks!” He shouted before driving off quickly.

Y/N gasped, “I don’t even have a seatbelt on, wait.”

Loki’s green magic shimmered over him as he transformed back into himself, “For someone who can take the power of a lightning bolt through her body, you’re quite jittery.”

Going full speed, he made his way through back streets all the way to a back highway.

“Shut up. Where are we going? This is technically grand theft auto.” She gripped her knee as she seen the moon slightly disappear behind dark clouds. Noticing this, Loki smirked to himself.

“Well would you rather me leave you at the party with people that don’t even know your name?” He shot back.

“Yeah because you know me so well.” She sarcastically spoke.

Loki gripped the wheel as he made his way around the road. Y/N couldn’t admit it, but it was a thrill. Being used to not feeling anything, this was a nice change. Though, her eyes were still fixated on the sky.

“I know you far better than you think.”

Her eyes glanced at the man driving and he peeked back at her through the corner of his eye. He pushed forward.

Twenty minutes passed when he pulled over to the side of the road. A landscape, a clear landscape of nothing but dirt and rocks. “Out.” He commanded.

She blinked a few times as she glanced around, “Where the hell are we? Loki, why did you bring me here?” She was becoming agitated as she seen him smirk.

The clouds began letting down small sprinkles of water. He walked towards the middle of the landscape and shouted over to her, “You’re living a lie.”

She remained quiet as she walked towards him, a small panic scorching her body as she felt the small droplets of water.

“I…I have to.” She was tired of lying. Loki standing here in front of her, confronting her…she didn’t feel the need to lie. She felt as if she were five inches tall.

“For what? For them? The public?” He spat out. In a way he was almost scolding himself.

“Why does it matter to you anyways?” She angrily spoke back as the rain moved faster.

“Y/N I watch you, every single day. You pretend to be someone you are not. Righteous. Pretending like you’re not angry at the universe for taking what’s yours.”

Her heart thumped as she grit her teeth together, “I asked why do you fucking care!”

He gripped her shoulders, “Because! You’re like me! You’re dying inside and it’s painful to watch! I’m here to teach you how to rid yourself of the burden you’ve carried so long, y/n.”

She looked up at him as her chest heaved and the rain began soaking their hair. “You won’t feel the same about me if I do..” she mumbled looking down. The attraction towards Loki wasn’t something she denied but how could she allow herself into someone’s life if she could barely endure her own?

Loki circled her and stood behind her, “Light is easy to love…show me your darkness.”

The rain dripped down her cheeks as if she were showering. Her fists clenched until her knuckles turned white. “I can’t…” She croaked out as tears fell.

“Yes you can y/n. Never deny your feelings…”

“I’ll hurt people, I-I don’t wanna do that anymore.” She turned to face him.

“There’s no one for miles, love. Let me show you.” He took her hand and faced the other side of the road. He took a deep breath before screaming as loud as he could into the raining night sky. Y/N watched him and her hand shook along with the rest of her body. He took a deep breathe, “You try.”

Y/N looked at him for reassurance and he nodded, “Ahhh!” She screamed out and thunder rumbled.

“Yes, keep going y/n. Do it again. Shout it, what troubles you.” He released her hand and stepped back.

She nodded and looked down, “I hate you! I hate being you! You let her die!” She sobbed as the rain hit down harder than before. Lightning sparked in the clouds. “You’ll never be what they want you to be! I’ll never be that! I’m here! I exist!” She screamed out while her arms extended. Loki watched cautiously as her body shook and he held an arm over his head to stop the rain from hitting his eyes.

“I-I’m here! I made it!” Right as she shouted a bolt of lightning struck down in front of her causing her to fall to the ground and dig her hands into the muddy floor. Her shoulders shook and immediately Loki went over to her and collected her into his embrace.

“I exist..” she mumbled into his shoulder as she cried.

“I know y/n…and you’ll keep living…” he rubbed the back of her soaked head.

She gripped onto his suit tightly embracing him. The negative feelings being released and a weight off her shoulders, “Thank you…thank you so much.” She said into his neck. “You have no idea…h-how long I’ve been waiting..”

“…Happy Birthday y/n…”

A/N: Im sorry this took so long! But at last it’s here. I’m still practicing at smut/ erotica type stories, so I hope I wrote something half decent at least.

The rain tapped on the kitchen window as the record spun on the player upon the white marble counter. Butter and eggs filled the scent of the medium sized kitchen. You gently kneaded the pie crust with your powdery hands and wiped the sweat that came down your forehead with your wrist.

“These damned things will stop at nothing to fall on the floor.” Loki growled as he kneeled down to retrieve the star shaped cookie cutter.

This earned a chuckle from you as you turned towards him, “They’re not people Loki, it’s a cookie cutter. I could do it if you—“

“Nonsense. I actually have,” he took a deep breathe as he carefully pushed the cutter into the dough, “taken a slight pleasure in doing such mundane tasks with you.” His eyebrow creased as his steady hands continued to delicately punch shapes into the cookie dough you two made from scratch.

“Is that so? I never would’ve taken a god of such elicit to be so happy with baking.” You tease nudging his arm with your elbow.

His thin lips curved into a smile as he turned towards you, “From the novels you midgardians read, it seems men of mystery is suited to your fancy.”

Warmth rose to your cheeks as you proceeded to pressing the crust into the pan. The settling voice of Bernadette Carroll singing, “Laughing on the Outside” lead you to deeper thoughts. You never intended love to be in the books for you, let alone with the man you once had to imprison. Yes, you are a shield agent and did unfortunately have to arrest your now boyfriend, Loki. When he returned to Earth with Thor, you had been working on certain cases alongside the avengers due to your insight on such information. You were often left alone with the God since he wasn’t attending most missions and you were the brains of the operations.

The two of you never consulted in the rest of the team that your relationship even existed. You didn’t feel the need to, you are both adults and whatever was discovered was simply that. For now, this was purely an escape for the both of you in this small apartment, baking and listening to your parent’s old records that were gifted to you.

“Y/N.” Loki spoke boldly holding the tray of cookies.

“Huh?” You snapped your head from the already fruit filled treat before you. You were so lost in thought, you mindlessly added the cherries into your pie.

“Do I put these in the oven?” He faced you and you cover you lips with your fingertips to stop your chuckle from escaping. You nod and he proceeds to slide the tray in the preheated oven.

Turning towards you he sighs and places his hands on his hips dignifying he finally finished the “challenging” task. Smirking, you kiss his cheek and playfully lick off the melted chocolate chip from it.

His cheeks were granted a slight pink color to them, but a mischievous smile arose.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” You asked chuckling.

He bent slightly and engulfed your thighs into his hands, pulling you up to the counter as you yelped slightly through the process.

He smirked before caressing his lips against yours, “Even now, you look absolutely ravishing.” Your heart pumped out of your chest and you held onto his forearms for support.

“…I love that you always manage to surprise me.” You whispered between your lips.

Loki inched back slowly and smirked playfully, “I’m full of surprises my love…they don’t call me the God of Mischief for nothing,” he gently pecked your lips, “I’ve got a reputation to maintain.”

You smirk and arch your right eyebrow before looking down into his dark eyes, “Then let’s go maintain your reputation somewhere a little more comfortable.”

Without hesitation, Loki swiftly swept you by your hips from the counter to his chest. Your legs firmly wrapped above his waist and your lips traveled from his cheek to his cold ear. His large hands held your back as he made his way to your room and dipped his knees into the edge of your Queen sized bed. He trailed his finger tips from your back to your hips before digging them in and engulfed you into a deep kiss.

Your breathing was much huskier as balled your hands into the black shirt he wore and pulled him even closer to you. Playfully you gently pulled his lower lip in between your teeth and tugged it.

Loki’s eyes opened and stared at your closed eyelids in surprise. Eagerness spread throughout his body. He watched as you teased him, finally releasing his lip painfully slow. Your eyes slowly opened and gazed into his. A swarm of butterflies danced within your abdomen. You had never seen Loki give you the look he was darting in your direction right now.

“Ah,” he whispered before smiling evilly and gripped your wrists pulling them above your head as a menacing chuckle escaped his parted lips, “my sweet little minx, I think you’ve forgotten who’s in charge here. Shall I refresh your memory?” He dipped his head into your neck before swiping his tongue along your tender skin. His teeth gently sunk into your flesh and he sucked firmly, leaving a mark ready to appear in the near future.

Your body was practically engulfed in flames and your mind swarmed. This is what you wanted, him, with you…intimacy. There was only one problem…You’re a Virgin.

You squeezed your thighs together and breathed out, “Loki, I-“ you swallowed the lump in your throat.

He pulled his head back a little to face you and loosened his grip on your wrists. “Mhm?”

Embarrassed, you gaze to the side, “I um…I’ve never done this…” you manage to whisper.

“Never done what, love?” His eyebrows furrowed a bit in question and slid his fingers into one of your hands.

“I’ve never…had sex.” You admitted and finally faced him again.

“…Is this something you want?” He spoke softly, allowing you to feel comfortable.

“…of course, with you at least…I’m just worried.”

“Allow me to ease your mind y/n…show you all you’re worth…how beautiful you are to me,” his eyes traveled from yours, down your chest all the way to your mid section, and back up again, “May I?”

Gently you nodded and fluttered your eyelashes from gazing at his lips to his eyes. With your permission, Loki slid his other hand gently up your arm and his palm to yours. With both hands, he interlaced your fingers and pressed another deep kiss to your lips.

In this moment you knew you trusted him more than anyone else. You were ready to fall hard into whatever this was blossoming between you two. It was mesmerizing. He pulled away gently pulling your arms down and proceeded to shimmy down your body allowing your hands to be freed.

Loki used his skilled fingers to gently peel your shirt up exposing your waist. He softly pressed his lips to your hips and gripped your sides. As his thumbs gracefully glided along your sides he pulled your shirt further up along with a trail of kisses. With the Jotun blood coursing through the prince’s body, his fragile kisses and touches felt as if an ice cube were in their place causing goosebumps to rise to your skin.

Softly and slowly, your shirt was pulled over your head leaving you in your comfortable bra. Not knowing what the night had in store, it had not matched your underwear.

Gazing deep into your eyes, almost as if asking for permission, Loki’s hand reached behind you. When you nodded slightly, he unclasped your bra and gently used both hands to drape the straps down your arms. Her heart was beating with the same anticipation yours had and his pressed his lips to yours once again. His hands cupped your cheeks and your lips moved in unison. With your hands you slid your bra down and gripped the bottom of his t shirt, bringing it up and over his head. Along the way you felt every detail of his back, every muscle and scar sensitive to touch.

Your tongues fought for dominance as his knee gently moved in between your thighs, parting them. His black hair tickled your cheeks as he was hovering over you. You couldn’t help but smile into the kiss at the tingly feeling.

Swiftly Loki unbuttoned your pants and pulled back a bit. He moved his body back down to your waist. Firmly, he tugged the material down your legs and with your help, to the floor. You bent you knees slightly as he hovered his mouth over your covered woman hood. The damp area could feel the warmth of his breath and you yearned to feel any kind of contact.

Knowing the obviousness of it, Loki smirked up at you. You rolled your eyes before Loki pressed a kiss over your panties. A barely audible gasp escaped your lips, granting Loki with pleasure of his own. The tightness of the jeans he was forced to wear was almost becoming too much.

He hooked his long fingers around the waistband and dragged it down. He did this till they accompanied your jeans on the floor and he crawled back upon the bed. He admired your body, the curves and dips in certain areas. To him, you were absolutely perfect.

“You’re absolutely stunning y/n…not a single wonder in the whole universe could compare to the way you look right now,” He spoke huskily as his face inched closer to yours with every word, “and I’ve never felt such love in another being in the thousands of years I’ve been birthed.”

Your cheeks were burning and your heart thudded within your chest, “I love you so much, Loki.” You whispered before pulling him into a kiss with your hand guiding his neck.

While one hand kneaded your breast, the other gently rubbed up and down the damp folds between your legs. A soft moan escaped your lips and into his mouth.

Your fingers gently tugged on the ringlets in his hair before they traveled down his back.

His thumb rubbed circles into your clit and you breathing deepened. Your hands fumbled with the belt that held his pants up. Finally you got it undone and with his help, his pants accompanied yours.

The sweet torture ended when he whispered, “Are you ready?”

You nodded and responded, “Yes..”

his hand left your body and tugged his own undergarments off kicking them to the ground.

He aligned the head of his firm length with your entrance before slowly easing in.

You gasped and winced a bit in pain before holding onto his arms for support. “Tell me if you want me to stop…” he calmly stated.

You nodded and watched as he gently sank into you, allowing a pant out.

The feeling was foreign but not horrid. The foreplay acting as a protectant to lessen the pain. Soon, Loki leaned down and pressed a kiss into your neck then your lips. After allowing you to adjust, his hips lifted from yours and guided himself slowly out of you and back in.

The rhythm was gained and you pressed your face into his strong shoulder. His own lips ran along your neck and collar bone.

Soft moans came from both you and occasionally, Loki. He kissed your shoulder and held your hands once more. Whenever you felt even the slightest pain or pleasure you would squeeze tighter. He slowly and firmly thrusted in and out of you, earning another moan from your lips. This went on for a couple more minutes.

“Loki..” you softly moaned into his ear mentioning you were close to climax. His grip on your hands mentioned he was just as close.

“That’s it love…it’s okay..” he whispered into your ear as he pressed a kiss to it.

Arching your back you pressed your torso to his. He pressed his forehead to yours and breathed heavier as he was climaxing. Your nails dug into his palms as you panted, coming undone beneath him. After, he followed, he pressed a soft kiss to your lips and laid next to you.

You both gazed at the ceiling before turning to each other. You smirked and chuckled a bit. “That was um…thanks.” You managed to let out.

“Love, you just bedded a god and all you could manage to choke out of those pretty lips, is um thanks?” He teased before chuckling softly and pulled you close to his chest.

Intertwining your legs you smirked, “You didn’t say anything, so I think I’ve got the upper hand.” You teased back.

You both gently closed your eyes before an a blaring alarm went off. Both your eyes widened as you quickly got up and followed the stench of smoke, retrieving your robe and Loki, a towel, “The cookies!”
