Glasses | J.P

James Potter x Gender Neautral! Reader

Drabble: James notices Y/N’s started wearing glasses and finds himself a little bit distracted.

James, as usual, couldn’t seem to stop going on about Lily. Even on this warm, Friday afternoon, as he and his friends walk through the corridors, looking for something to do, he rambles on.

“We get it, James,” Remus chuckles, “we’ve heard this about a billion times.”

“I would say this specific spiel is more like half a billion,” Sirius chuckles, slinging his arm over James’ shoulder as he nudges him, “he has a wide range of Lily-related topics he likes to bore us with after all,” Sirius laughs.

James pushes Sirius off of him, “I’m in love ok, let me be.”

“Ever one for the dramatics, prongs,” Remus chides, laughing along with Sirius.

Peter, dragging on behind them pipes up finally, “why are we just wandering around? I’m bored.”

Looking back at the whining boy Sirius rolls his eyes, “go find something to do then. We’re not here to put on a show.”

Peter huffs and turns away, starting to lag behind the group once again.

“Hey Y/N,” he yells suddenly, running off and out into the courtyard, over to where their friend is sitting reading a textbook. They look up and smile at the boy running towards them.

James feels his jaw drop without him even realising, looking over at their friend talking to Peter, admiring them. The way their legs cross over each other, the way they run their hand through their hair to smooth it out, the way they lean back and laugh at something Peter said.

And to top it off, those glasses. Oh, those glasses. James has never seen them wear them before, but the frames sit perfectly on their nose, framing their face, and for some reason, James can’t help but stare as his mind wanders.

Not for the first time he thought about kissing Y/N, laughing as his own glasses bump theirs as they lean in, imagining those beautiful eyes looking up at him, magnified by the lenses.

He’s yanked back into reality by a hand pulling at the back of his collar, turning to see himself centimeters away from a brick wall in front of him.

“Merlin mate, watch where you’re walking.”

He can’t even focus on Sirius’s comment, all he can bring himself to do is turn back to watch Y/N talk, marveling at the way they take their glasses off and rest them on top of their head.

“When did Y/N start wearing glasses?”

HARRY POTTER MASTERLIST|GENERAL MASTERLIST

“Love?” James brushed his lips against your forehead as you lay against his warm chest. You hummed in response, running your fingers over his ribs. You could never imagine not loving the man who lay underneath you, the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled just at you, his laughter and soft yet almost raspy morning voice.

He pressed another tender kiss to your hairline, morning light breaking through the crack in your living room curtains and illuminating his soft curls. The sofa was tight for the two of you, his arm wrapped securely around your waist as you curled into him.

“I was thinking of making breakfast-”

You cut him off with a shake of your head as you buried your face in his chest, refusing to get up quite yet.

“We have to get up at some point.”

You groaned, looking up at him as pounding filled your head. “Jamie, if you wanted me up at a decent time and in a good mood, you shouldn’t have encouraged me to do 20 shots of Firewhisky last night.”

He laughed, the sound vibrating in his chest and through you as you nestled closer. “I’ll make you breakfast.”

You pursed your lips. “Pancakes?”

“Anything for you.”

“Okay, but stay for a bit. I just want to cuddle.”

James chuckled, tightening his arms as you began to slip over the edge of the sofa. You hooked a leg between his, pressing your lips to his chest. He rested his chin on the top of your head and you huffed a sigh, wriggling your way up his body just to resolve the height difference issue.

You had a clatter in the corridor outside your apartment and rolled your eyes. Your neighbours did not know how to be quiet. James had suggested giving them a taste of their own medicine when you had discovered that your bed liked to bang against the wall, but you had just decided to ignore it in the end.

Returning your head to his shoulder, you murmured something about your love for him, eyes already drifting shut again. James brushed a strand of hair out of your face, and you could picture the soppy look on his face without even looking at him.

The door burst open with a bang, and you jolted out of James’ arms. Remus, Sirius, and Peter strode in as if they owned the place, settling down on your other sofa. You groaned.

“Oi, could you give us a moment?” James sat up, yanking on his trousers with a scowl.

You wrapped the blanket tightly around you, using it as a coverage as Sirius dragged his fingers across your mantlepiece, fiddling with the trinkets there.

Remus turned to you with a soft smile, completely ignoring your very uncomfortable lack of clothing. “How are you, Y/N? How are your parents?”

“Good, they’re good, thank you.” Your returning smile ended up coming out as more of a grimace as you shifted the blanket around to completely cover you. You had never felt quite so exposed in front of James’ friends before.

“Can you give us a moment?” James interrupted, having managed to pull his trousers on with one final huff.

Sirius scoffed, running a hand through his hair. “Well, if you had looked at the mirror at all this morning, we wouldn’t be here.”

Oh, so that’s what the muffled yelling from the other room had been.

“We’ve got news.” Peter chipped in from his seat next to Remus, fiddling with the tassels on one of your cushions. “Kingsley’s got us job interviews at the Ministry. Says it will get us straight into the field if we do well.”

“No fucking way.” James yanked a shirt over his head, arms tangling in the fabric. You laughed at your boyfriend, tucking the blanket under your arms as you got up to help him pull it on. He struggled as you tugged the fabric over his head, and you were tempted to just leave him there, completely bound and sightless. But you couldn’t bring yourself to damper his excitement like that.

“Jamie, how do you still not know how to dress yourself-”

He hushed you, tapping you lightly on the nose and laughing at your pout. You furrowed your brows, jutting out your bottom lip and he pressed a brief kiss to your lips to brush away the expression.

“Prongs, the interview’s at 10.” Sirius interrupted, and you wrinkled your nose. Was there no privacy even within your home?

James glanced at the clock, eyes widening almost comically as he caught sight of the time.

“Shit, let’s go.” He hopped around, laces in hand as he attempted to tie his shoe whilst balancing on one foot. “Y/N, love, I’ll see you later.”

You waved him off with a little laugh, leaning your head back against the sofa as your front door shut.

So much for quiet morning domesticity.

Remus Lupin frequently dreaming about a face with the prominent Black features hovering over a seashell, but they keep constantly changing, and he can’t look Sirius in the eyes for a month straight, after he asked Peter for the meaning (Because which other Black would even be seen with him in the future?)

Him being really anxious and scared when they announce their idea to accompany him on the full moon as animagi, but also being really touched and thinking back to what he once saw in a certain Crystal Ball, overwhelmed by his luck.

Remus letting slip that he believes in Divination after Sirius made fun of their professor and admitting that he once saw significant signs for what was coming, which leads to Sirius and James constantly asking him about it and Remus blushing an awful lot.

Sirius Black making up a list with crazy improbable things from which he randomly mixes together what will happen. (This includes people// incident// place// and occasionally other participants)

Him, the undoubted Dramaqueen, telling his professor the results of choosing on the random list: “My head started to harbour this immense pain, when I actually saw this. It was too painful, but I had to share this message with you: You were there, Professor and everything was painted in dark colours that seemed to draw you in. All the dark colours seemed to explode and you were right in the middle screaming agonizingly. Oh and there were tentacles, so it might have been the Giant Squid, too.”

His professor falling in the Black Lake facing the Giant Squid that emitted dark ink everywhere making them believe Sirius instantly forever: “20 points to Gryffindor for this amazing talent of Mr. Black. He knew it. He is the one with the true inner eye. Mr. Black, I am sincerely looking forward to your future accomplishments in the field of Divination!”

Sirius being smug about it and making up lists with even more ridiculous content, but his professor believing him all the time. (This was one of the reasons why Dumbledore, who observed this was on the brink of abolishing Divination class, before Prof. Trewlaney came along)

James Potter being called out for his made up stories, which makes him complain a lot as Sirius could tell the Professor that Dumbledore would be talking to a small boy about socks in front of a mirror and they would celebrate his talent.

Yet, he believes that that flower he managed to recognize in his tea leaves holds special meaning, so he draws strength from the memory when he is getting rejected by the beautiful and fierce Lily Evans for the  50th time and once again orders a nice chocolate arrangement from Honeydukes (according to Sirius birds love chocolate, but when he glanced at Remus as he said that, the boy refused to help them with the planning of any pranks for a week)

Peter Pettigrew being almost on top of this class, second only to Sirius who gets special treatment due to his “enormous natural talent” and taking pride in that fact.

Him seeing glimpses of his future in his dreams regularly, but as a devoted believer in destiny not attempting to change or rush it. Mostly, there is laughter or explosions from pranks they played, but he the Whomping Willow also often reoccurred as well as ginger hair that he can’t exactly pin down (It can’t be Lily, can it?)

Peter finding out about a lot of secret passages by seeing their entrances in a Crystal Ball and searching for them afterwards, so he can surprise his friends with them, which makes them plan to draw them on a certain map.

Peter and Remus growing close thanks to their mutual tutoring, which further develops after Remus trusted him out of all people with his confusing dreams and also stands up for him whenever James and Sirius try to tease the smaller boy.

weasleygirl7:

It was chilly, a slight breeze turning the base of ones breath visible in the dusk air. Spring had arrived, and small buds of flowers and grass had begun to rise.
Now, one could gaze upon it with sadness, the stones rising from the ground as grim reminders of the past, of all the memories, painful and bitter.
One might say it was quite poetic and beautiful, if they were to gaze upon the scene, how perfectly calm everything seemed to be, but that would only prove their ignorance.
But you see, to those of personal connection, this small plot, six feet under, held something so heartbreaking, their breaths came in painful gasps. Their vision would blur together and they would struggle to remain upright, that was the pain of living while those you loved did not.
Truly, for those who were gone, the last enemy to be destroyed is death, but for those who remain, it is, perhaps, the very thing that makes one crave it.

X

Come on guys! You have to promise!” You had laughed, pushing your hair out of your face and your cheeks tinting a slight red.
The six of you had stood on the edge of the astronomy tower, looking out across the grounds and black lake.
“You know we will, do we have to bloody promise?” Sirius had shook his head at you, humor written all over his face.
“It’s the thought! I mean, this is our last night at Hogwarts, after this, we go out into the world! We have to promise to meet every month at least!” You cried indignantly and Sirius pulled you closer, throwing an arm around your shoulder and pressing a kiss to the side of your forehead.
“She’s right,” Lily had nodded, her red hair curling in the gentle breeze. “We don’t know how long we’ve got.”
“Geez, way to make it depressing Lils,” James had given his girlfriend a sidelong glance.
“It’s true. We might not make it to 20,” Remus had shrugged, leaning his arms on the railing.
“Okay, okay,” James stuck his arm out. “I promise, that we will meet every month at least.”
Remus added his hand, then Lily, Peter, Sirius, and lastly you, with a huge smile on your face.
“Promise.”

X

To anyone else, a small, rag-tag group of young adults stood gathered in a small cemetery might seem out of the ordinary.
It was so strange, that a once abnormal occurrence was depressingly common. Just two months ago, they had been here for Marlene’s ceremony. But now, they were here for you.
James and Lily arrived first.
Lily Potter was tucked under the arm of her husband, her arm on her slightly protruding stomach. Her mascara had run onto her face, her tears leaving thick trails. Her red hair was knotted and dull, evidence to her pulling at it and running her hands through it, trying to get her mind off the sharp pain in her heart.

X

We’re best friends right?” You had asked her the night before you left for the end of your first year.
“Of course. Why?” A young Lily had asked curiously.
“I just don’t want you to forget me,” you had smiled awkwardly and Lily had hugged you tightly.
“Never! What girl could forget her best friend?”

X

James Potter clutched onto his wife, his glasses askew and his hand for once not fiddling with his hair every few seconds, no his free hand clutched onto a photograph of you two, a fat tear slipping down his cheek.

X

You better not hurt her Potter!” You had threatened him, waving your finger in his face.
“I would never!” James had nodded vigorously.
“Good. Cause you might be one of my best friends, but Lily is my BEST friend and if you did I’d have to hurt you in the most brutal way possible,” you had smiled at him and nudged his shoulder, swinging your broom over yours. “Now let’s go kick Slytherin’s arse.”

X

Peter Pettigrew had arrived next, standing slightly off from the others, a heartbroken expression on his face. His feet shuffled at times, and his knees shook from wanting nothing more than to drop and never get up.

X

What’s wrong Petey?” You had sat down on the steps your friend was on and looked at him worriedly.
“Just the slytherins,” Peter had responded glumly. “They were saying I was too cowardly to be on Gryffindor.”
“And you listened to them?”
Peter furrowed his brows at you curiously.
“I mean, the hat placed you here for a reason! You get to choose your path Wormtail, It’s your life. But if you ask me your pretty brave,” you smiled at him and ruffled his hair comfortingly.

X

Remus arrived a few minutes later, coming to stand on Lily’s other side, a comforting hand on her shoulder. His hair messy, his chest heaving slightly with contained cries. He silently dropped a (Y/F/F) onto the fresh dirt and refused to meet anyone’s eyes.

X

Remus!” You gasped in horror and rushed towards your friend, who had scratches and blood dripping down his face. “What happened?”
“It’s nothin’,” he waved you off and tried to sulk back to his dorm, only to be stopped by you flinging his arm over your shoulder and bearing half of his weight.
He sighed in relief as you helped him up the stairs.
“Why’re you helping?” He asked tiredly as you leant him on his bed.
“Well I’m still your friend, even if you don’t want to tell me what happened.”
“I’m a werewolf,” Remus rushed suddenly and you blinked slowly, before walking up and kissing his forehead as he leant back in his bead.
“You don’t hate me?” He asked curiously and you laughed.
“Rem, I could never hate you. I’m so sorry you go through that and I’m going to do everything in my power to help.”

X

Lastly, Sirius Black shuffled in. His hands stuffed in his pockets and his face was expressionless. His trademark smirk gone, his eyes hollow and rid of their shine.
He wasn’t used to your absence, Every few seconds he would turn to look for you, and every few seconds his heart shattered more as he realized you would never be there again.

X

Sirius Orion Black!” You shouted and he paused, his dark hair falling in his face.
“What?” He sighed heavily.
“I’m not allowed to date?” You quoted him from earlier. “Excuse me but you have dated every girl in hogwarts with the exception of me!”
He turned around and crossed his arms.
“Did it ever occur to you that maybe I do that because the one girl I am in love with doesn’t think of me like that?” He took a step closer to you and you could feel his breath.
You faltered for a second and looked up at him curiously.
“Well then kiss her, prat. And see if your right,” you had raised an eyebrow in challenge, feeling braver than you felt.
Sirius gave you his signature smirk before crashing his lips to yours.

X

No words were exchanged, but none were needed.
James stared down at his wife and then turned his face towards the sky. Is this what would happen? One by one they would die, until none were left?
The five stood there, until the sun began to slip farther from view, the darkness reflecting the mood, but not doing it justice.
“We came,” Lily said softly, directing her words down to the grave. “How come we kept our promise but you didn’t keep yours?” Her voice cracked, showing how often she had been crying.
But it wasn’t true, you were there, in spirit at least. You kept your promise.
You stood, invisible to the human eye as you watched your friends, heartbroken.
“Oh but Lily, I kept my promise. And now I’m always with you, with all of you. Until the very end, until we meet again.” You said and reached out, as if to brush the hair from her face, but your hand making no impact.

I’m gonna reblog this, cause I actually really like it?

I just finished “all the young dudes” after reading it for two days straight and fuuuuuuucccckkkk. It hurts!

Ok first of all. Its amazing! The writing is so good and the characterisation is on point. Wolfstar is portrayed so well and I ship them so much now.

James and lily were amazing in it as well as Mary and Marlene.

The plot(non canon) was so thought out and played off so well.

And yeah I did cry for the last like 15 chapters.

But I highly recommend it if you haven’t already read it.

Imagine Sirius Black helping you out of a thunderstorm predicament.

requested by: anon!! i know you requested for a slytherin girlfriend but imagine this before the relationship begins!

The thunder had been rolling for a while, crashing against the roof of Honeydukes - typical November weather. And you, terrified of thunderstorms, were stuck in the shop up until closing time. People were being asked to start leaving, students and residents alike, and you knew you should be leaving but you just couldn’t bring yourself to brave the thunderstorm. Every time you felt a surge of confidence and started toward the door, another crack of thunder would put you back into a corner, pretending to be browsing the sweets, but your insides shaking in fear and shame.

And now everyone was going home, out into the storm, and you knew you had to, too. But how could you?

“Hey,” a hand on your shoulder pulled your attention from your internal war. You turned to meet the cheeky eyes of one of those Gryffindor hooligans, the one you recognised as Regulus’ brother. “You gonna buy those whizbees or what? Shop’s closing.”

“O-oh, um,” your anxiety had you on edge to the point that this sudden human contact had you a little dizzy and the most intelligent response you could come out with was a few garbled noises.

His eyes narrowed as he looked at you, and then when they widened in realisation he dropped his hand from your shoulder. “Wait, you’re that Slytherin chick, aren’t you? Regulus’ mate.”

Your own eyes narrowed, your words snapping back to their right formation as you crossed your arms, picking up on the boy’s disdain. “Well, I don’t really know him- Ah!”

A bolt of lightning slashed the sky, a deep crack of thunder following immediately, and you couldn’t help but fall against the wall, knocking a couple of boxes of fizzing whizbees off the shelf behind you, fists clenched tight against the sound of your heartbeat in your ears. You could have sworn the boy hid a laugh, but he knelt to gather the boxes at your feet. “Careful,” he scolded, “You might make a fool of yourself.”

You huffed at him as he put the boxes back on the shelf, but found you couldn’t quite match his witty tongue in this situation. Whether it was the storm or his presence, you were off your game. You helped him right the boxes in silence.

He turned to you, a brow raised as he placed the last box on the shelf. The smirk that seemed so at home on his face was vacant. “Are you alright?”

You arched a brow right back, immediately defensive. “I am.”

“You’re scared of the storm.”

His abrupt assumption had your brows knit together in a glare. “I’m not.” As if to spite you, a deep roll of thunder echoed through the room and your strong stance crumbled into one of fear. His eyes remained on you, but they weren’t mocking. You explained yourself with a clear of the throat, “Ahem. It’s the thunder.”

The smirk that you were keen to keep away slipped back onto his lips. But no, it wasn’t condescending or spiteful, like you expected. There was a light behind his eyes that painted that smirk a mischievous colour. He looked over his shoulder at the final customers that were preparing to go and made eye contact with a bespectacled friend of his. He jerked his head towards the shop and Glasses sent him a grin and a salute before leaving the shop.

You looked back at Black, not even trying to hide your confusion. “What did I just witness?”

He leant in towards you, whispered a quick “Come on,” and took your wrist, gently pulling you further into the shop.

“Hey- what!?” You squirmed out of his grasp, pulling his attention as he rolled his eyes and gave you a look. “Where are you taking me?”

“Away from the storm.” He stepped closer to you again, his voice low and almost seductive, a glint of wilderness in his eye. “Have you ever heard of the one-eyed-witch passageway?”

Evil clone of Remus pointing to the real Remus: shoot him, I’m the real one.

[Sirius shoots the evil clone directly].

Remus: how did you know that I was the real one?

Sirius: Easy, you would never waste a chance to die.

Some of you have never fallen in love with one of your best friends, breaking magic laws by using a spell to become an animal so you can accompany the love of your life on his most difficult nights and it shows.

moodboard: wolfstar

Sleep with me in the shadows

between whispers that are only ours

tell me that you feel at home with me

and when you get drunk at night

you are welcome to get to my big ice bed

my ice bed that melts when you hug me.

Sirius with magician’s voice: and for my next trick I will basically make my heterosexuality disappear … but before i will need help from my handsome assistant Remus John Lupin.

Remus: he’s kidding, there’s nothing to disappear.

Sirius blackis gay i say into the mic.

the crowd boos. i begin to walk off in shame, when a voice speaks and commands silence from the room.‬

‪Is totally true they say.

i look for the owner of the voice. there in the 4th row stands: Sirius black’s ghost himself‬.

[Sirius trying to be funny at the time of his vows at his wedding].

Sirius holding the hands of Remus: all my life I thought I would marry my soulmate … but James fell in love with Lily, anyway I’m glad I met you.

James laughing and whispering from his seat: I didn’t think he would dare to say it, I lost the bet, bastard.

Sirius to Remus: it’s a joke, I love you.

Remus smiling:

Sirius: … moony I think you’re breaking my fingers.

Sirius: I love when Remus criticizes my decisions but at the same time supports me in everything, it’s really cute.

James: I know, lily does the same with me… it’s called being passive aggressive.

Sirius: I love when someone says I challenge you, because there are two voices in my head, one immediately says do it and the other says you’re not going to do it idiot.

James: I understand, the first one is like an angel on one shoulder and the second a demon on the other?.

Sirius: no, the first one is my mind and the second remus.

I really need a book about the marauders, but not just a book, I need a good book.  I need to have long chapters of James and Sirius being ridiculously compatible, being brothers, I need a background in Peter, I need paragraphs that make me suffer with every transformation of Remus and his love-hate relationship with the moon, I need Lily giving meaning to the word beauty, I need James Potter lost in those red hairs and that overwhelming personality and for merlín sake I need with every cell of my body that Sirius accurately narrates me his view for Remus John Lupin, I need him to spend hours describing me the color of his eyes, his smile and the intelligence of the boy he loves, the one we all love. I need books from the marauders.
