I HATE how little it takes for me to get angry. Like I’ll read something bad or need to do something I dont want to, or experience a minor conflict and I can just feel the rage boil under my skin
It’s exhahsting
i hate that moment when i look at myself and realise everything i’m doing is because of my disorders. every little thing that i do and think is somehow influenced by my mental illnesses. i’m just a bunch of trauma and problems, i’m not a person and i never was.

Okay, so now that I’ve had time to really think about and process Sam’s recent lore stream… I can confidently say I do not like the idea of c!Sam receiving a similar scar to c!Quackity.
It ignores a lot of how that injury affected Q as a character, as well as being an extremely unique part of his character design. Imagine for a second if, at some point, c!Sapnap lost a life in a similar fashion as Tubbo and was stated to have “similar burn scars” to him. That’d be… annoying because it removes the reason why those scars were so meaningful and important to Tubbo as a character.
c!Quackity got his scar because it was a culmination of all his mistakes throughout seasons one and two. It was a reminder of his failure to keep L'Manburg safe. It contributed to his negative self-image, something which he already struggled with.
It was a physical manifestation of the damage revenge can do. It is one of Quackity’s greatest losses and is part of what helped him realize the horrible truth; that seeking vengeance brings nothing but suffering to yourself and others.
c!Sam receiving this same mark seems wholly artificial and skin-deep. It doesn’t reinforce pre-existing flaws. It likely won’t change how Sam already views himself as a person. It doesn’t serve a deeper purpose beyond the visual.
I hope my opinion on this changes with time, but for now, it’s redundant and cheapens the impact of Quackity’s storyline.
there’s a different between “this stream wasnt about tommy of course they didnt mention him” and them blatantly ignoring any and everything about c!tommy to the point they couldn’t even say his name
he’s part of the prison arc. he DIED in the prison. he’s the one c!dream is after. c!sam had a grave for him right there! he’s been in the prison multiple times. he’s c!tubbo’s best friend! he’s the one c!dream went after immediately after getting broken out!
nobody was asking for anything big - it’s the fact they actively seemed to refuse to say his name, to the point of it being uncomfortably obvious, is the where people are feeling really weird and why it’s being pointed out.
c!sam is evil because he kidnapped a child but both c!techno and c!tubbo are aware c!dream kidnapped, killed, and is after c!tommy and c!techno let him out anyways.
- why didn’t c!sam point any of that out?
- why didn’t he point out that c!tubbo is teaming up with the guy who released his best friend’s murderer/abuser?
- why did c!tubbo laugh at the grave instead of taking a moment to give a moment of sympathy to c!sam, that they both care about c!tommy? why didn’t c!tubbo use it as a dig at c!sam that he cares about c!tommy but still let him die?
- why didn’t any of them throw it in c!sam’s face that he let c!tommy die AND killed c!ranboo, when c!tubbo literally had a whole detective arc trying to find out who set off the TNT in the prison?
- speaking of that, why didn’t c!sam tell them that the reason he imprisoned c!ranboo was because he helped get c!tommy trapped in there and subsequently murdered? that it was c!ranboo’s fault c!tommy died, as if c!tubbo wouldn’t care?!
- why didn’t c!tubbo, who took all the release form books, notice that c!tommy’s wasn’t there?
- why didn’t they mentioned c!tommy’s name when listing off the people who were trapped in the prison? or even the ones that were trapped and died? why didn’t they mentioned ghostbur either?
the ONLY thing we got was c!techno alluding that giving c!tubbo the axe was a parallel to c!tommy, but he never even said it outright!
literally nobody wanted anything drastic. but to act like c!tommy isn’t incredibly important to c!tubbo and isn’t massively involved in the plot is such a disservice to the characters, especially c!tubbo and c!sam and c!eret, who all actively care about him!
arcs don’t exist in a vacuum. characters that aren’t there still are relevant, they still matter to the other characters. characters that aren’t in a sub-arc still are present and important. ignoring them for the sake of simplicity/lack of conflict isn’t good.
Honestly, the active effort of just not bringing c!Tommy up at any point literally did a disservice to c!Sam. Like, a big disservice. Because they can’t talk about why it’s messed up that c!Techno let c!Dream ut of prison without mentioning him as one of the people he harmed. And, as you mentioned, c!Sam couldn’t bring up what c!Ranboo did without mentioning the consequence it had on c!Tommy. All of the reasons c!Sam had behind his actions CAN’T BE BROUGHT UP.
How is he supposed to explain himself if everything he could say would make c!Techno look so much worse, which just is never allowed?
And what about c!Tubbo? How am I supposed to believe that he still cares? c!Tommy used to be his best friend man, it was the two of them against the world, and now he doesn’t even remember he f*cking died? Doesn’t even remember any of what c!Dream said to them during the Final Disc War?
And, like, sure I can believe he was pretending, but, like, fanon can only fill up the inconsistencies to a certain degree, you know?
it was character assassination pure and simple!!
it’s why everything felt “too easy” because it was! there was no real argument of morality, no real conflict between c!tubbo and c!techno teaming up
they could have easily played this as “we don’t have to like each other. but we have the same goal - getting c!michael home safe and avenging c!ranboo”
we could have had them sniping at each other while c!eret awkwardly tries to keep the peace (because c!eret has been “forgiven” like twice before but apparently everyone keeps forgetting that…)
it’s just so frustrating because this could have been a really cool stream of seeing c!sam justify himself properly and c!techno being forced to admit he, ill-intentioned or not, is responsible solely for c!dream’s escape.
like, who is michael in danger from? c!dream. you know, the guy c!techno let out.
not c!tommy, not my problem
So the dude sitting opposite to me at work us very obviously sick but still decided to go to the studio instead of working from home :))))) and the dude sitting behind me isn’t wearing his fucking mask (like a good third of the people there !!)
God I’m sorry I’m so bitter these days, it’s just, I’m tired, I’m scared, I’m angry and instead of processing those emotion I have to sit on my ass behind a computer screen 8h a day doing the same thing over and over again.

got all that? still here? oK LET’S GO
okay so things that I liked:
- the animation style was incredible
- the humor was great (most of the time)
- i would die for those two robots
- the mum is amazing
- and yea…
the plot of the movie in general was fine too but what got me MAD was the father/daughter plot
lets make something clear: in the beginning of the movie katie TRIES to show things to her dad, and we see her easily bonding with her brother over his special interests, meaning if the dad tried to share stuff about carving and crafting with her too it woud probably work out. katie has always made an effort to connect
BUT NO, the dad is super annoying, acts like a boomer with the hating phones thing and in the end of the day simply doesn’t care about katie’s movies, he only cares about the time before she had a personality and loved everything he did. shes what 17 now? and he keeps bringing up stuff from when she was a baby
then we see katie’s dream being to leave and to create an independent life for herself, and for some reason its framed as a bad thing???
OH and when she lies and says what her dad wants to hear and its played like an awful decision. you know, many kids like me have to do that to survive in their family, please their parents to avoid arguments and fights
also why is the movie obssessed in forcing her to feel things that she doesnt feel? her father never cared about her interests, he literally watches one of ther videos for the first time in the last 15 minutes of the movie, why should she force herself to feel those things when her dad only started caring once she was leaving?
and his ““effort”“ is so painfully average. he isnt even bothered to know what she likes or wants to do, just shoves his own nostalgia on her and then gets upset when she doesnt like it
fucking get to know your daughter maybe?? and dont try to bond with her just because shes moving out and you feel guilty????

they keep talking about katie finding her people, only for it to turn out she just had to realize her people was her family all along!!!
that is such an awful message to kids!!!! “your people are your family! if you dont fit in with them then theres something wrong with you” and “if youre upset with your parents dont be because family is the only thing worth fighting for” which she says in the speech to the villain

god and that scene where katie is supposed to feel guilty cause the dad sold the house and its suggested it was to provide for her. well, movie, thats not katies fault! stop guilt tripping her cause thats what asshole parents do to you when they feel you arent giving them attention

honestly Im usually all for rooting against disney movies at the oscars, I really really am. and i decided to watch this movie exactly because i saw so many people say it deserved the oscar more than encanto
and i honestly went into it really hoping to enjoy it, but almost every scene with katie and the father began to hurt something inside me….I think if i watched this movie as a kid i would have thought the state of my relationship with my father was my fault, and i had to “give him the benefit of the doubt” and accept his half assed attempts to connect with me
and honestly, as much as disney makes me angry, their movie about a latino family coming together, apologizing and healing from trauma is much more beautiful and important than whatever this trainwreck tried to talk about
UNRELATED but i also heard so much about the lgbtq rep in this movie and I was so looking forward to it and it ended up being 1 (one) rainbow pin and 1 (one) line said super fast at the end…. I was really disappointed tbh but thats the internet’s fault not the movie’s i guess
