My girl Kiki, patron saint of frustrated creatives haha! Feeling that old feeling all over again: growth. The end justifies the means, but the road to change is the most uncomfortable. Every day, I feel myself growing and changing and moving forward, but the signs and symptoms look and feel like mistakes, disappointment, and dissatisfaction. With every one illustration that feels like a big jump forward, there’s three that follow that feel like five steps back. That’s how I know I’m onto something, though. If I keep going, my art could look totally different in two months! It’s a little scary that I might leave the way I do something behind—but it’s more exciting to think of how much I will improve in my craft. So I am trying to give myself the space and the courage to try. What are you doing, or what do you want to do, to improve some aspect of your life or your work? Doesn’t have to be art related!
