a spell to increase your chances of getting matches on tinder. this is NOT a spell to force someone to feel romantically for you and i do not condone that sort of spell. this is a highly customizable spell in order to find a relationship that suits your needs and desires

gather: 1 large rose petal (red or pink), selenite, a small box, colored candles of your choice, tea leaves, small objects that represent the sort of people you’d like to attract (ex. crayon shavings = creative person, coin = someone financially stable)

after gathering your materials, draw a pentagram and place your candles at a point. light each individual candle & place your rose petal in the center to charge for five minutes

little by little, place the objects you have chosen in the rose petal. small gemstones work as well (ex. rose quartz = romance + love, lapis lazuli = clear communication, etc)

begin sealing with wax with the intent that the color correspondences of the wax will aid your spell to promote the sort of relationship(s) you wish to gain through this spell

(red = passionate romance and/or lust/hookups
pink = soft romantic energies
yellow = someone you can be happy with/best friends/easier communication
blue = someone you can be relaxed around
white = for something serious
black = someone protective/makes you feel safe
etc. etc. so on and so forth)

while the wax is still warm, press the green tea leaves into the wax as a catalyst for quick matches (green tea can also be used to promote sexual health)

once the wax has set, place the rose petal into your box with your selenite. the selenite is to help cleanse negative energies from affecting your spell

leave in window to charge until satisfaction

App Recommendation for Green/Garden Witches: Vera

I looked into a watering schedule app that sends notifications because all of my plants need different watering times right now. I tried a few that were in the App Store and this one is by far the best in my opinion. I enjoy using this, I didn’t enjoy any of the others.

Pros

  • You create the entirety of the plant’s profile. You can put in a name, species, photo, what date you got the plant, where it is, and there’s a note section designated for special care info. This customizable setup is so much more user-friendly than the apps that make you scroll through a list of plants to select yours (if they even have it) and then gives you the uneditable watering schedule that doesn’t take into account your humidity, plant’s life stage, etc
  • You can choose what day of the week the watering schedule starts, how often (in days) you’ll be notified to water, and when in the day to set off the notification. You can also change the watering schedule of a plant at any time. Similar apps I’ve tried haven’t been as customizable
  • You can select multiple plants or a whole location group to mark as watered at once, instead of having to go through each individual profile to mark them
  • You can go on to a plant’s profile to see when it was last marked as watered and what day it’ll next need to be watered. I find this helpful to be able to check and some other apps didn’t have that info available to the user
  • You can use this app to track your plants growth progress through photos. It puts photos in the activity feed so it logs the date/time at which you upload a photo to the app, making it time-trackable. There’s also a ‘photos’ tab next to the activity feed if you only want to see the photos, so they’re easily accessible
  • To me at least, this app is a lot more visually pleasing and user-friendly to navigate than similar apps I’ve tried. The font is big but not overwhelming, the layout is aesthetically simplistic but not dumbed down, and everything makes perfect logical sense as to where they put it and such. As for app layout, left to right there is a home page (first picture), a menu of all your plants sorted by location (third picture), a button to add a new plant, a page to mark plants as watered (second picture), and lastly an info/your profile/social page (that last one doesn’t do much except let you log in and leave a review). As you can tell, the app is very straight forward and I like the layout

Cons

  • You can’t undo a watering. If you accidentally mark a plant as watered that day I haven’t found any way to reset it to needing to be watered. So just be careful of which plants you’re marking!

Another spell jar,

This one is for inner strength and perseverance

1) Chamomile

2) Ash bark

3) Evergreen

4) Snowflake Obsidian

5) Dalmatian Jasper

Sealed with red wax. Blessed be

I would love to have a green room. I can’t wait to have my own place.

ATTENTION WITCHES!

So I’m aware of the mass hex that’s supposedly happening on the full moon on the 5th against the police, the institution, and white suprememcists, however I have NOT seen any instructions or resources shared by a specific organiser. I largely feel as though it was an idea that floated around but never gained enough traction to be planned properly

I’d like to propose this spell that I have found in on of my books on witchcraft (Inner magic: a guide to modern witchcraft by Ann-Marie Gallagher)

The beauty of this spell is that it is not a hex or curse, so it’s safe for inexperienced witches to do without anything bad rebounding on them. It’s a binding spell created to stop a wrongdoer from continuing to do harm, I believe we will be able to name the wrongdoer as ‘those against the BLM protesting’.

This spell, however, should be performed on a WANING moon on a SATURDAY, which would be this Saturday coming (Sat 6th June), since the full moon is on the 5th.

Please spread this if you think its a good idea.

graycloak:

The topic of weight management can be one filled with very polarizing viewpoints within the magick community. My goal in creating this was to craft something that wouldn’t pretend to be a quick-fix, nor advocate any specific body image. Instead, I wanted to craft something that would help with a healthy management of weight - in however that is defined in your own mind. Yes, the idea capitalized here is in trying to lose excess fat, but again, what that means is left up to the end user. I want this to help you achieve your own goals of what you feel is right for you.

This is a heat-infused oil formulation. Hot oil can be very dangerous; please be very careful, and extremely mindful, so you don’t hurt yourself.

What you will need:

  1. ½ cup Olive Oil
  2. 2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Cassia is fine to use)
  3. 2 tsp. Ground Clove
  4. 3 stalks of Chives, chopped

  5. Small Sauce pot
  6. Fine mesh strainer
  7. Coffee Filter or Cheesecloth
  8. Sealable container that can withstand warm oil (preferably glass .. blue/cobalt glass even better)

Optional, sized for keeping inside the finished container:

  1. 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  2. 2 Whole Cloves
  3. 3 Lengths of whole Chive

When you do it:
On a full moon when the moon is in Scorpio, and in an hour of Venus. If the stars align for you so the full moon in scorpio happens to land on Friday, Trifecta!

What you will do:

  • Take your sealable container, and add the whole spices and cloves. Make sure you’re able to seal the container. Trim the cinnamon stick and chives if you need to.
  • Put the oil in a sauce pot, and begin heating on the stove.
  • Let the oil just begin to simmer, then add your ground spices and chopped chives.
  • Stirring the whole while, let the contents simmer over low heat for seven (7) minutes.
  • After seven (7) minutes, remove from the heat and let sit undisturbed for another seven (7) minutes.
  • Repeat the cycle of seven (7) minutes of heat and seven (7) minutes of rest six more times (for a total of seven cycles).
  • At the end of the final seven (7) minutes of resting, put the strainer on top of your container, and put the filter (or doubled-over cheesecloth) inside the strainer.
  • Slowly pour the oil through the filter/cheesecloth and strainer, into the container. This might take a while. Be patient, and be careful! Do not be careless with Hot Oil!
  • Once the oil finishes passing through the filters, allow it to cool, then seal your container and keep it in a cool dark place.

Optional
If you like working with sigils, you can draw a sigil on the coffee filter so the oil passes through it as it filters.

How to use:
While looking at yourself in the mirror, dab your finger in the oil. Use your oiled finger to trace the alchemical triangle of Fire on your chest or abdomen - Try to use a single, continuous motion. As you do this, tighten your core as much as you can and say:
Fires ignite and burn within - Melt my fat to make me thin.”

CPaW- Why these things:
This formula taps into powers of transformation, willpower, banishing, and archetypal fire, and blends them with powers of beauty, self-confidence, and good health.

  • Cloveis used for its connection to fire and banishment.
  • Cinnamonis used for its connection to fire and passion, and for its ability to augment the power of whatever it’s blended with.
  • Chivesare used for their connection to healthy weight loss.
  • The formula is blended in an hour of Venus in order to weave threads of edifying self-love and beauty into the final product.
  • Thefull moon in Scorpio augments the transformative nature of the formula, as well as blending with the cinnamon and clove to balance willpower, colored with targeted banishment.
  • Blueis associated with weight loss, which is why the sigil should be drawn with that color. Pouring the finished oil through the sigil as it filters passes the charge of both the color and the sigil into the oil.
  • Thenumber seven (7) is associated with Venus, love, and harmony. Having that number factor prominently throughout the formula ensures we thoroughly embed its influence in the finished product.

✨What’s up? What’s new in your practice?✨

lostinphases:

Earth Day is a single day each spring where the entire world agrees to celebrate nature and work to do something in return for the planet that supports us. For many of us, Earth Day is a staple holiday, one that we have never lived without, but Earth Day was actually first celebrated on April 22, 1970 created by Gaylord Nelson who was a senator of Wisconsin at the time.

As a witch, it probably seems like every day is a kind of Earth Day as we make offerings to the elements and individual plants, tend our gardens, and use herbs for everything from cleansing to tea. With all of that part of our everyday routines, making Earth Day special might seem a little daunting, but there’s plenty to that you can do to honor the earth even more than usual.

Get Your Hands Dirty

One of the obvious and most practical ways to celebrate Earth Day is to plant something. To be more specific you might consider planting a tree (you can dedicate it to a deity or other purpose if you want it to be even more special!) or tending to flowers, vegetables, or herbs. This is the perfect time to get to work on that native plant garden you’ve been putting off!

Make an Offering

For this, I suggest finding a specific entity or living thing that embodies your relationship with the earth and nature to make your offering to. You might consider making an offering to a tree that has provided you shelter or a garden that has provided you with nourishment.

If you choose to make a special tea, recipe, or other compostable item during your celebration today, you might consider burying it in that front of that tree or in that garden. If you already compost, maybe take today as an opportunity to use it to fertilize the plants around you. If you’re a witch in more of a city setting, something as simple as a liquid fertilizer would make a great offering for your houseplants!

Bless a Garden

A growth spell or garden blessing can be a simple celebration that allows you to spend some time outside meditating on the benefits and life of the plants around you and in the energy of the earth while also promoting growth.

I keep a small growth spell bottle in the pot of the majesty palm the lives on my balcony, and whenever I refresh that spell, I find that growth surges forth. (If you look at the linked post, I think that the sprouted seeds were, in fact, a good sign.)

Summon Rain

Two things are great for nature in most cases, rain and sunshine. Of course, these two things don’t usually coexist, so if you’re in an especially bright area, try your hand at a simple rain summoning spell to encourage some hydration to come your way, or if you’re in an especially soggy area, try to banish the weather to offer the plants in your area some sunshine.

One way to do this is to fill a bowl with water. Sit outside under the sky, and focus on the kind of weather you want. For rain, dip your fingers in the water, letting the droplets fall back into the pool below before stirring clockwise while meditating on rain. Once you are done, pour the water out onto the earth. To banish rain, you will want to stir counterclockwise and meditate on sunshine, disposing of the water inside.

-

Whatever you choose to do on Earth Day, know that honoring the Earth in whatever small way you can is enough. If you aren’t able to do a large-scale ritual or plant a dozen trees, doing what you can for your small part of the world is just as valid as anything anyone else might do.

Stay sustainable, everyone!✨

Alot of posts will tell you to consume things. A lot. They say “combine these herbs and drink them, or smoke them”. Others merely tell you what benefits the herbs have, such as luck or money attraction or love.

Don’t do this blindly.

It makes me crazy! Look, if its a common kitchen ingredient (parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, basil, oregano, etc.) then yes, by all means, ingest that. But some things you need to check.

For example, licorice. It has medicinal uses, but you need to be aware of dosing, and if you are pregnant or nursing, you need to be very aware that you can’t consume it.

Saint John’s Wort can be used to treat mild mood disorders and depression, but it can also cause photosensitivity and affect the metabolization of medications. Meaning, it can change how effective your already prescribed medications work. This includes antibiotics, birth control, antidepressants and a host of other drugs. Grapefruit and slippery elm do this too.

I’ve seen people recommending the use of jimson weed in flying ointments because it has hallucinogenic affects, but its toxic.

I’ve also seen people forget that things can be absorbed through the skin, and affect you anyway.

Herbal medicine is real. Herbs and spices and plants have real affects. You need to be very, very respectful of that fact when ingesting them.

Here’s a decent rule of thumb:

  • You can trust the internet or witchcraft related book if you’re putting it in a spell jar or a sachet or a poppet.
  • If you are trying to smoke something, look it up.
  • If you are trying to put something on your skin, look it up.
  • If you are going to eat or drink something, look it up.

Your safety is paramount to all else.

Lastly, don’t rely on witch sites for this. The National Institute of Health and the Mayo Clinic have website sections and books available discussing the actual properties of herbs from a medical perspective and their drug interactions and their affects on particular health conditions. If you have a serious medical condition, refer to a doctor before anyone on the internet, and check that taking what you want to take is alright.

Stay safe, my dears.

Yeees, especially relevant to my last reblog.

Pomanders, in their various forms, have been used to add delightful scents to people’s lives since the middle ages. The word “pomander” actually comes from a French phrase, pomme d’ambre, which translates to “apple of amber.” Originally filled with perfumes, early pomanders were wooden, metal or porcelain balls that were either placed around a room or carried on one’s person. These early pomanders included various herbs, spices, and even ambergris that were ground up into a fine powder and placed in a ball or even a pouch. There are paintings of Queen Elizabeth I holding her pomander ball.

Today, people use pomanders primarily as a room freshener or decorative item. They can be placed in drawers to keep clothing smelling nice, left in decorative bowls to freshen a room, or even used in aromatherapy.

When the Yule season rolls around, why not make fresh pomanders to decorate your home? Add some colored ribbon, and you can hang them from your holiday tree, or give them away as handmade gifts!

You’ll need:

  • An orange
  • Whole cloves
  • Ribbon
  • Small pins

Wrap the orange in ribbon - usually a quick cross design is simple and easy. You can use the pins to hold the ribbon on place. Use the cloves to stud the skin of the orange in any design you like — you can do them in rows, spirals, or even a pentacle on either side! Be sure that the cloves don’t touch one another. If they do, as the orange dries, you may notice cloves falling out. Try to include a lot of cloves, whichever pattern you choose to use - less empty space is better as the orange dries out.

Some people like to roll their studded pomander in a blend of spices. To do this, mix equal parts cinnamon, nutmeg, or your other favorite scents into a bowl, and roll the orange in the mix until it’s completely coated.

The orange will last longer if you “cure” it, or dry it out. To do this quickly, you can place it in the oven at a low temperature (around 150 degrees) for an hour or two - the bonus to this is that it makes your house smell spectacular.

If you’ve got a little more time, you can place your clove-studded orange in a paper bag, and let it sit in a cool, dry place for four to six weeks. Be sure to check your orange periodically to make sure it hasn’t begun to mold - if it does, it mean that cool dry place has moisture in it, and you’ll need to throw your orange away.

A cured pomander will last a very long time. Once it’s done drying out, add decorative ribbon so you can hang it up for all to see - you may want to use decorative pins to hold the ribbon in place. If you make a bunch of pomanders, place them in a bowl where they’ll look pretty through the Yule holiday season.

The orange is associated, like many fruits, with abundance, fertility and prosperity. As you’re making pomanders with oranges, you can incorporate them into magical practice. As you poke the cloves through the skin, focus your intent on bringing abundance your way.

“The intimate associations between the worlds of witches, witchcraft and plants can be likened to an ancient fabric draped upon bony shoulders. Like a verdant shroud, the clandestine power between witch and plant serves as a well-worn cloak connecting dreaming and waking. In both their revealed and concealed powers, plants have long held secrets which manifest at the interface between human and spirit power. The plants carry the stories if only one will take the time to listen.”

Concerning the Holy Virtues of Waybread, Chaplet of the Tortuous Track

“Our Herb is patient and wise, for many tread upon it, and it sustains little damage; as a Companion on the Path it is ever present, having adapted its place of growing to waysides of the road. It is identified by its prostrate growth and rosetted, parallel-veined leaves, which give rise to stalks tipped with brown, spikelike inflorescences having tiny white blossoms. Its botanical indication is the genus Plantago, of which there are numerous species, the best-known of which are Ribwort (P. lanceolata] and Greater Plantain [P. major]. Both are nutritive and medicinal, good friends to afflicted skin, and powerful against the bites of vermin.

As a protection for the Wayfarer it stands as Ward of the roads a Walking Charm readily available in most lands; providing medicine, nourishment and protection against noxious spirits. Leaves placed into the shoes and hat afford protection from robbers or venomous beasts; a pillow similarly stuffed protects the sleeper from harm during the night, be it from the realm of Nesh or spirit. Leaves which be gathered on Midsummer Eve are of especially potent virtues, and are made into an ointment which aid the traveller in difficult passage, and shields its wearer from attack. Owing to its knack for rendering the most noxious venoms less harmful, the Herb may also be used for particularly difficult cases of Exorcism. Waybread leaves are renowned for relieving irritating skin complications, including cuts, bruises, Nettle or insect stings, and burns, and may be applied directly to such afflictions, even in severe cases. It is one of the best rapid-healing bandages Nature has gifted us with, and does not fail. Juice of the leaves has been used successfully to cure the bite of the rattlesnake.”
