Could not get a good photograph but there’s something sprouting from my fern! Not sure if it’s a new frond or just a weed. Will have to wait and see :)

An update, certainly seems to be re-sprouting! Fingers crossed I can keep it alive this time

More pictures from the palm house. We’d just missed the bougainvillea I think, they looked like they must have been spectacular.

Back at Uni and most of the plants are still alive! Satellite Björk is still growing away and my Saint Paulina is still flowering. Unfortunately I think my Maidenhair fern is dead :( I’ll do some research to see if there’s any chance of re-growing

I made a tiny living scene inside a glass box with moss, rocks, and a small fern :)I made a tiny living scene inside a glass box with moss, rocks, and a small fern :)

Xianxian the Drosera prolifera put out a little offshoot!

I decided not to cut it off yet, I just placed a planter under it so it can hit the ground and take roots at its own time.

Since I already have this little bowl of water around for humidity I thought I might as well make it a bit more interesting - so I changed the tapwater in it to rainwater and chucked some duckweed in there.

We’ll see how it goes: if the duckweed is unsatisfied with its new place I can always bring it back to the pond where it came from.

Find the repeated plants! There’s 3, variegation difference doesn’t count.

If you don’t know the name, describe the plant or the location.

These are second floor plant shelves. I got the shelves at IKEA. They were really not expensive at all and I’ve had them since 2019. I always move plants around and add more plants every now and then.

If there’s any plants that intrigue you, please let me know in the comments!

Trichocereus bridgesii (P*nis Cactus) and one of my Guatemalan bracelets.

He is a small grower for real though. He’s also given me two… Babies? I’m trying to grow one of them separately and we’ll see if that works or not.

He gets bright indirect light

Let him dry well between watering sessions, then give him a good soak!

Not picky with humidity.

HAPPY SUNDAY! My gorgeous Othonna Capensis (ruby necklace) is starting to bloom! This succulent is marvelous. Why?

1) their color changes depending on the amount of light they get.

2) Super easy to propagate. Clip and stick in soil.

3) The flowers are super cute!

4) Super easy to care for.

Avocado from seed update!

Lots of new growth after the rain. I’m keeping the soil moist to continue the growth. So far looking good!

I’ve grown this from seed for 3 years! I use a wet towel to cover the pit, then put it all in a Ziploc bag and keep it in a dry place.

Check on it once a week, this is a crucial step, so set up reminders on your phone! You should see roots after 4-8 weeks. Pot it in soil after the roots are about 3-4 inches long and strong.

Any questions, let me know!

Spanish moss (Tillandsia usneoides) is such a gorgeous addition to any vertical space and the best thing is that you don’t need soil or a pot.

This is an epiphyte, which means they grow on tree trucks or any surface that provides nutrients from the moisture, water and or air or the surface itself (like the tree trunks).

I’ve propagated twice now and they are all growing. I keep them in our shower as they get filtered light and humidity from our hot showers.

Happy Lunar Year! 祝大家新年快樂!虎年大吉!

My Philodendron Imperial Red keeps growing! These are the things that make me smile & cheer me up. Yes, I’m struggling with some of my babies and I’m focusing my energy on them, but damn… we have to appreciate and value the good things happening around us every single day!

Philodendron Care:

Medium indirect light

Let them dry well between watering sessions. Remember to follow the finger test.

Regular Humidity

I haven’t fertilizer this one in the year I’ve grown her. I’ll update my care tips when I do.
