Okay but shall I talk seriously? Everyone has a “Mr Croc” at the back of their heads when they’re feeling at their lowest: a skeptic that degrades yourself and your deepest thoughts:
“You’re not really sad, you’re just an attention seeker.” or
“You’re not mentally ill enough so you don’t deserve help.” or
“You shouldn’t call the suicide hotline, someone needs it more than you. Get over it.”
Let me tell you real straight, these phrases are not true. It’s so easy to think less about your suffering and push it aside but you’re only on the way to ruin by doing so. Your thoughts, both good and bad, ARE VALID! Your tears and sadness are not fake… and you don’t need to pretend they’re fake to think less of your melancholy. It’s okay to be upset. It’s okay to get help and with the situations we’re facing in the world, it’s very easy to suffer alone but pull a strong face, knowing others are also suffering at the moment… take care of yourself too.

When you feel different opinions on something.

Leaving this here as a reminder that amazing things can come from difficult times in life. I just hate that things are actually going quite well for a change (I can’t even remember how many originals I’ve sold recently! ) but I’m just too exhausted all the time to truly appreciate it, or create more. I feel like such a hypocrite for starting this year off with positivity only to immediately fall into a depressive spiral, but lockdown number 3…. this one hit different. I may have to officially take some time away from creating art since I’ve been too stubborn to give up yet, despite struggling most of last year too. I hope that everyone else is keeping well, especially my UK folks. Stay strong We’ll get through this eventually hopefully Boris will fall into a fjord or something.
