how love burns through the putting in the seed

on through the watching for that early birth

when, just as the soil tarnishes with weed,

the sturdy seedling with arched body comes

shouldering its way and shedding the earth crumbs

I got this really pretty Dendritic Opal bracelet in the mail today from Lunar Source! I’ve literally never been so pleased with a gemstone bracelet. Almost every one I’ve ever owned has been just slightly too small for me. Just enough to make them uncomfortable. This shop makes them to order with your provided measurements. Thanks Heather!

Please recognize that this is not definitive. Not everyone can follow this, whether you have time between jobs or school or you don’t have the spoons for it. THIS DOES NOT MAKE YOU ANY LESS OF A WITCH. While I recommend some type of scheduled practice, tailored to your style, I know it’s not right for everyone.

Obviously you guys don’t have to make a schedule for yourselves or anything but building in daily practice is a lot about growing your craft and yourselves not just as witches or pagans but as people in general.

As for the spoonies out there I know you may not have enough energy to do all of the things every day or every week or every month. Do what you can, and love yourself. One thing I read somewhere is that anything worth doing is worth doing halfway. What this means is that doing something halfway is better than not doing it at all. Like for instance flossing. Flossing your teeth once a week is better than not flossing at all. Don’t feel at the end of the week when you feel like flossing that just cause you haven’t flossed all week there’s no point. There always is. Take care of Yourselves.

This is just so beautiful and calming

Beltane Oats and Honey Scones

Beltane is upon us and this year most of us are going to spend it inside… A nice way to celebrate this special day is to bake. I filmed this recipe for you, I hope you will like it!

Beltane Oats and Honey Scones

These rustic scones are quick and easy to bake. The use of plain flour and oats makes them raise less. They are amazing eaten straight outside of the oven with some jam and clotted cream (or butter!) Beltane is the celebration of the coming of Summer and a celebration of fertility. Days are warmer and longer, plants are growing, and the soil is fertile. Unfortunately, most of us will spend Beltane indoor this year and I thought I would publish the recipe I’ll do to celebrate this day.

Even if you are not celebrating Beltane, these scone are delicious! Let me know what you thought of this recipe!

Ingredients

  • 80g Self-raising Flour
  • 80g Wholemeal Flour
  • 20g Oats
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 75g Butter
  • 60mL Whole Milk
  • 2 tbsp Clear Honey

Recipe

  • Preheat the oven 170ºC / 340ºF, grease a baking sheet
  • Mix flours, sugar and salt in a bowl
  • Using your finger tips, rub in the butter until the texture is crumbly
  • Warm the milk and the honey together. Stir until the honey has completely dissolve
  • Add the warm milk to the flour mixture and mix to make a soft dough. If it is too moist, add a bit more flour.
  • Divide the dough in two ball. Roll each of them in a flat round about 2 cm thick
  • Cut the flat rounds in 4 quarters each
  • Bake for 15min, until pale golden and springy to the touch
  • Keep in an air tight container for a couple of days

Oh, to be a witch living in a small domicile with the girl that you so much cherish; to have her read her original spells to you, your back against her chest, your head resting on her shoulder as she runs her fingers through your hair, whilst she uses the other hand to hold her grimoire. To run through the decorated by Beltane’s inflorescence meadows, with hands clasped, to pick up flowers and make each other pretty flower crowns. To write vows on bay leaves and burn them, letting the smoke fly out of the window so the universe and all it’s magical entities know that your souls are united.

Subtle Witchcraft Tips

(coming from a closeted witch of 3-4 years)

  • stitch sigils or runes into your clothing - use a thread that’s the same colour of the fabric for extra subtlety
  • use bandanas to veil
  • display certain items as if they’re just decorative - all of my crystals are on a shelf and when my family asks i just tell them i like crystals! they’ve now assumed i’m a geology nerd lol
  • look into tea magick! tea is such a powerful tool for witchcraft and simply stirring your tea with intention can be a form of magick
  • if you wear makeup, paint sigils on your face with your foundation or concealer before blending
  • similarly if you wear nail polish, paint sigils on your nails
  • use perfumes or body products with certain scents that correlate to certain meanings e.g my shower gel and body oil are both lavender scented
  • create a shoebox altar - this makes it small and easy to hide
  • household herbs and spices can easily be used in spells!!
  • remember that a pendulum doesn’t have to be a fancy crystal on a chain, any small weight on a string can work just as well
  • any basic candle can be used in spells
  • research the correspondences of wearing rings on certain fingers
  • i love doing kitchen magick!! it’s so easy to incorporate into everyday life without blatantly being a form of magick
  • house plants can be great in magick
  • i know i briefly mentioned sigils before but don’t underestimate how powerful sigils can be!!
  • create small spell jars that you could easily hide

and remember: your craft is uniquely your own. don’t let anyone tell you what is and isn’t required to be a valid witch. i’ve had to be subtle about my practice for years and it’s taken a while for me to realise that i’m just as much of a witch as someone who openly practices.

blessed be <3

babywitchofthesouth:

i can’t tell if my boss is a witch or just super aesthetic

i work in a little cottage-turned-restaurant and they burn incense (frankincense i think), have a green adventurine crystal for luck and prosperity on the register, have the cutest garden with lavender etc, and are drying bunches of flowers in the kitchen

like is this them upholding the cottage aesthetic? or should i subtly do witchy stuff in front of them and see what they say lol

So update, they also have a small gold handbell by the entrance, brown glazed cauldron-shaped sugar holders on the tables and an upside down horse shoe

They literally sell coloured candles and loose tea leaves
