Add white, pink, and red rose petals, honeysuckle blossoms and rose water to bath filled with water. Substitute hydrosols with fresh flowers if necessary. (optional esstial oils to add: lavender, rosemary, chamomile, and jasmine)

Place a rose quartz large enough to not go down the drain in the bath too.

Soak in the scented bath.

Find yourself in the stillness, calmness, quiet & peacful place in your bath amongst the loving frangrace of rose petals, flowers, rose water and essential oils. Place your focus now on the person who broke your heart or the memory that broke your heart… if you begin to cry, allow the tears to flow down your cheek and into the bath water. Say the persons name out loud and command that all the power and sweetness you gave to this person be given back to you.

Example : Gregorio, you broke my heart, and now I command the universe to give back to me, all the power, sweetness and love I ever gave to you. Gregorio, I gave you my heart becuase I found you worthy, I now command the universe to give me back my heart because I have realized the only person worthy of holding and protecting my heart is ME. I love me. I love me so much. I forgive myself for allowing for someone outside of me to take my power and break my heart. My power, my sweetness, my love, my heart is flowing back to me now.

After you have cried, yelled, said your affrimations, played with your roses, and anything else you felt called to do in your bath, take the rose quartz and place it on your heart… allow for all the emotions and tears that filled the bathwater to now drain out… as it drains out chant the words “I RELEASE YOU NOW WITH UNCONDITIONAL LOVE”

Following the bath, carry the rose quartz with you. Sleep with it under your pillow until you don’t need it any more.

This is what I cooked up for my first ritual involving the deity Aphrodite (who I also refer to as Venus). To cast this circle, I got a piece of newsprint paper and chalk pastels that I had from various art projects. I knew I wanted to use a pentagram shape, meaning a five pointed star symbol used in many forms of wicca and witchcraft, but as I was designing it I felt like putting in a twist. The five pointed aperture-like rose shape definitely draws inspiration from Steven Universe. Inside the “petals” I drew roses and myrtle leaves, which are both associated with Venus.

image

Its been said that the five points of a pentagram represent the four elements as well as spirit, so I acquired five items to help summon Aphrodite’s presence.

Air - A pink toy wand I got from a dollar store a while ago. I have since added a ribbon and stickers to it. I sometimes use it for love related magic, so I thought I’d include it in the ritual to associate it with Venus. Now I intend to use it for quick communication with her.

Spirit - I made this little totem of Venus out of oven-bake clay. It’s modeled after the famous sculpture “Venus de Milo”. It’s hard to capture with photographs, but its coated with very iridescent glittery acrylic medium over a soft pink base. I keep it on my desk!

Water - Perfume I got in Paris. I mean yeah, it’s from a convenience store in Paris, but Paris nonetheless. I dabbed a little of it on before the ritual.

Earth - My rose quartz crystal. It’s a lovely faint shade of pink. I usually keep it right next to my Venus de Milo statue.

Fire - A tea candle that’s always around, called “Under the Sea”. It is said Aphrodite was born from sea foam so she’s often depicted with ocean associated things. The candle smells fresh and nice. I didn’t actually light it due to my building’s restrictions, but I found that it suited the fire element all the same.

Once I was done setting it up, I turned on some pretty music and sat down on a pillow in front of it and started meditating. The actual contents of the ritual is more lengthy so I think I might save that for a future post. If you wish to recreate this set up, I encourage you to! The newsprint I used is 18x24in, and it’s super convenient to just roll it up when you’re done to save for future rituals (or recycle or burn it safely, if you needed to for whatever reason) For ways to customize this pentagram, think about:

  • Instead of roses and myrtle, draw the pentagram with other things you think Venus would like!
  • Of course you can think of your own items to associate with the elements. I think it could be interesting to even deviate from the “air, spirit, water, etc.” model and follow your heart in choosing items.
  • Colored paper would look beautiful!
  • You can spend as much time decorating the pentagram as you like. It didn’t take me too long to draw with chalk pastel, but if you wanted you could totally take your time with different materials (think glitter glue) and intricate designs. Aphrodite would appreciate your aesthetic consideration!
  • Offerings could be placed in the center area, or any items you wish to show her.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my ritual space! :) Let me know your thoughts, questions, or share your own Aphrodite altars and prayer spaces!

I haven’t put a lot of my magical activities online lately (and for that I apologize to my followers) but I thought I would share something that is very important to me. It’s been a long time coming, something that I’ve been thinking of for a while now and I’m so happy to have set things in motion finally. I feel as if my whole life has shifted into a different, brighter direction lately, I can’t begin to explain the feeling but what I can say is..

I have now devoted myself as a student of the goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite!

So there’s a lot I’d love to document and talk about and I will very soon. But for the time being I wanted to tell this news to the tumblr witchy community :-)  If you run a blog that pertains to magical work with Aphrodite, Venus, or a similar spiritual devotion to love and beauty, I’d love to have a look! Please do reblog and/or send me any particular advice from your experience that you’d share with a new devotee!

Lots of love and well wishes,

This is an easy spell to bring softness and tenderness to one of your relationships, helping you reconnect in a soft way with your loved one; definitely one of my favorite spells!

You will need:

  • One red apple
  • A red, pink or white candle
  • Rose petals
  • Lavender
  • Jasmine Oil
  • Honey
  • + Vanilla Incense for an extra oomph

Instructions:

While visualizing peace and love between you and your person of choice (a friend, partner, family member, etc.) cut the apple in half, and carve a hole big enough for the candle. Smother some jasmine oil on the surface of the apple. Then, add a spoonfull of honey in the hole followed by the herbs, and finally, the candle; lit it as you say the following:

By this apple and honey sweet,

peace and love I bring,

I call upon the Power of (deity of choice)

and ask that this relationship is blessed,

to be full of love and light,

and our future be ever so bright,

So mote it be!

After this, let the candle burn all the way down. You can also add different herbs, such as saffron, cinammon or cloves, in order to change this spell to a more passion driven focus. Best done on a friday at 4:00 p.m. ❤️

Note: this spell is not meant to make someone fall in love with you, but rather bring good energies to a relationship that you already have and wish to keep planting seeds of love in.

I am back! ✨✨✨✨

Starting to delve deeper into my spirituality, inspired by the love of my life.

A while back ago, my cousin made me a love candle. It’s purpose was to draw in the man that I needed right now. She’d told me he’d be here within a year (candle was done in Dec. 2020).

Now, they say love hits you like a ton of bricks completely out of nowhere and they’re absolutely right.

I met my boyfriend in November of 2021 and at first just thought he was going to be another male friend that I’d be in love with for the rest of my life and he’d never do anything about it. And, I was so wrong.

It took her a minute to work on himself and get his shit together but once he did, he opened his arms and his heart to me. We’ve been together for a month and some and there is no doubt in my mind that he is my absolute soulmate.

Everytime I look into his eyes, I feel a familiar safety blanketing me. He is indeed everything that I’ve ever wanted and everything I need. I’m so excited for the infinity that is to come with my special man.

Sharing some scenes from a lovely full moon dinner ritual party I hosted this week. The Leo full moon had some beautiful clearing energy and brought a wicked storm to the UK. That day it was raining but by night the sky cleared to reveal the moon and brought with it devilish winds..

We did spells attracting love and stability with the Venus & Mars conjunction in Capricorn and did glamour magic by creating body oil potions with charged energy with what we want to embody.

We also had such a spread! I made love potion cocktails with raspberry pomegranate juice, cherry liqueur, rose water, pink Prosecco and raspberry cotton candy. I also made truffle pasta, Rosemary salmon with spiced shrimp and beetroot salad. Friends brought a whole cheeseboard/pate spread, rose Turkish delights, pear cake, spiced veggies, tons of red wine, it was incredible!!

We also had some of the most illuminating love tarot readings. I’m still sitting on my message. It was nice to gather friends and celebrate life with them. I’m feeling really loved and my friends said they felt a sense of community after.

slavicafire:

slavic folk love charms and spells

have you ever laid eyes on someone while getting back from a day of hard work in the field and thought - we must wed this summer or I shall throw myself into the Dnieper! or have you ever felt overcome with fear that your beloved might be sneaking out every moonless night to the neighbouring village to kiss that girl with braids thicker than yours? or perhaps you have seen this fair shepherd boy lead sheep into the Carpathian meadows and you wished he would take a liking to you before Kupala’s Night comes?

fret no more, my friends!

here are some of my favourite slavic love charms that I’ve stumbled upon lately:

♥ - to ensure that they will find a good husband - and fast - girls would find the branch where the first bee swarming of the year would happen: the branch on which bees sat had to be boiled, and that concoction used to wash the body

♥ - to make a boy fall in love, girls would bake mole’s heart into the bread and serve that to their chosen boy - mole’s blindess would “go over the boy, as love is blind”

♥ - if a woman did not want to become pregnant - especiallyagain - she would have to walk in a circle around dead tree, saying “when this tree bore fruit, I bore children, when it bears again, I will”

♥ - if your beloved chose someone else over you, sneak close to their house during their wedding night, and throw over the roof: pin from a wheel to “close up the bride” or rope with knots tied on it to “knot the groom.” you know what that means.

♥ - to gain mad affection from a boy, girls would try to steal a thread from his hat - or even just dust from the soles of his shoes. then they would stick it into a lump of wax and throw into the fire, saying: “might you burn in longing for me like this wax is burning in the fire; might your heart melt for me like that wax is melting.” the boy would either fall in love madly - or get ill, and die. our foremothers did not favour the word “compromise”

♥ - to steal a boy’s heart, girls would steal his steps - cut out his footprint from the path, and take it with them.

♥ - to make sure that the chosen boy is stable in his love, girls would gather dirt from the path he walked on - again, best with his footprint - and put in into a pot, and plant there plants with flowers that bloom for a long time, and take good care of them.

♥ - to appear alluring and be desired by boys, girls would carry with them:a goshawk’s head, or swallow’s heart, or bat’s bones.

♥ - the most important love herbs that should be sneakily added to beloved’s food or drink: lovage (levisticum), adders tongue fern (ophioglossum vulgatum), sticky sundew (drosera), or poison darnel (lolium temulentum)

♥ - to awake desire in a boy, girls would either steal the water he bathed in and bathe in it themselves, or the other way around: sneak their own bathwater into the boy’s bath.

♥ - rub valerian into the clothes or possessions of a girl who’s trying to steal your boy - once she gets close to him, he will be overcome with hatred and disgust (or it will make him “wilt with her. you know what that means.)

♥ - to become more beautiful, girls would sing to the sun, asking it to grant them its own fairness and charm, and make them as “bright and rich”

♥ - similarly, girls would ask the rainbow for similar favours: it was necessary to take off any shawls, caps, and ask “girl, girl, beauty in the skies, make me pretty so boys like me, and give me much blood so I can be full” (full as in full face, healthy, fatter - although as a strzyga I do love asking for more blood to be full as well.)

[examples come from Kultura Duchowa Słowian by Kazimierz Moszyński (volume I and II, 1934) and appear in the practices of many slavic peoples, especially from (historical and geographical) regions: Lesser Poland, Red Ruthenia, Belarus, Polesie, Great Rus, Moravia, Bulgaria, Little Rus and Ukraine]

stay tuned for new additions or part two!

With cherries and chocolate this treat is meant to promote self love and invite love into my life.

On May 1st, witches in the northern hemisphere celebrated Beltane, the festival of sensuality, joy and fertility. The sexiest of the witches’ sabbaths, Beltane is a day to appreciate your passion and sexuality, in whatever shape or form you can manifest it. Here is a spell to revive your own flame and power…

You will need

  • A red candle
  • Rosemary oil
  • 4 bay leaves
  • A small bowl

Love and passion spell

Using a brush, pour rosemary oil onto the red candle, starting at the top. Then, carefully light the candle.

Sit peacefully in front of the candle and focus on the flame, thinking about what love and passion means to you.

Bring back memories of particularly sensual and sexual moments you experienced, alone or with partners. Feel this sexual energy spread all around your body.

The bay leaves represent the earthly, rational matters that can distract you from true love and passion in your day-to-day life. They are your rent, the dishes in the sink, the laundry that needs to get done, and/or anything else that prevent you from focusing on your self and your own pleasure.

With that in mind, burn each bay leaf using the candle, one at a time, and let them fall into a small bowl.

Spend a few more minutes looking at the flame. Let its power and energy fill your heart with pleasure and sensuality.

Find more information on Beltane meaning, correspondences and rituals in my Beltane masterpost here

As I’m sure everyone has noticed. Valentine’s Day is coming. Please be careful of love magic. That is to say, don’t force it on anyone or be careful of it being forced on you. Love magic as a concept is great, especially self love magic! Yet, love magic that forces the will of others or is done without consent I can not stand by.

Do some self care, and be with those you care for no matter how you love them. Make some good luck for them and yourself. Remember consent is important! Have a lovely and safe Valentine’s Day.

I rarely have things come to me in dreams, but this did.

In my dream, it was only women who partook in the ritual, but gender doesn’t matter. I think my brain just liked the drama of dresses whipping around in the wind.

What you need:

  • People whose partner has died
  • Knives
  • Black attire

Steps:

  • With you and your partner at the altar, you have your people come in from as many directions as there are people. If you only have one, they can just come down the center aisle.
  • They hold their knives to the sky and call in the directions/elements/deities.
  • Then they say, “I/We have gone from love in the present to love eternal too soon. While this is a weight we carry, we gift you the strength of eternal love.”
  • They each then take turns gifting you their knives as they speak the name of their loved one.
  • They then return to their seats or places.

I’m not entirely sure if this makes sense since I did just wake up and this is the first ritual I’ve made, so let me know if you have any questions or would change something or if this is a ritual that already exists!

I doodled some sigils on one of my partners. I don’t even know if these would do anything long term but the doing created enjoyment, contentedness, and connectedness so? ‍♀️ Any different to just random drawings? Who knows.
