Okay I know everyone likes to critique the part in the Blood of Olympus where Percy says “Greeks, lets fight stuff” as opposed to the organized Romans since the Greeks were actually super organized in the Battle of Manhattan. We like to call it crappy writing.
BUT

Did you ever think about how many of the experienced campers died in the Battle of Manhattan? Camp Half Blood repopulated a little after that, but they only had a YEAR to recover from their losses and train the new campers. A year. No wonder they weren’t too notch organized.

They are child soldiers. Give them a break.

When we get the PJO series can we PLEASE get itty bitty eight year old will solace in the background of an infirmary scene playing with light coming in from a window??
like manipulating it and swirling it around and stuff

will solace may be a professional but he works solely with limited edition Backyardigans bandaids he made Chiron stock up on.

Okay I know the fandom has mixed feelings about a possible solo book BUT if someone has to die, I hope it’s William Andrew Solace. This would be so well written if Will died protecting Nico and wasn’t just shoved to the sidelines the whole time they’re in Hell looking for Bob. Nico knows deep down Will would want him to move on, but instead marches down to his father and the whole Orpheus and Eurydice situation is set up. Except Nico is so awfully determined and DOES NOT fail, and he gets his Will back.
BUTTT do not make Will sunshine and rainbows when he gets back. That boy literally DIED and was dragged back to the living world, there has to be some kind of lasting effect from not only that, but Tartarus as well.
*tbh there should be another character that actually does die for real, just to make it realistic. Jason is really the only main character to die in awhile, and that’s kinda crappy writing

I think we need to talk more about Will’s sacrifice in Blood of Olympus. By that point, the Apollo cabin had a pretty solid streak of losing a head counselor each battle. Will was well aware of that. When they were messing with the catapults, he knew someone needed to distract the Romans. He was willing to make a sacrifice for the camp. In fact, he was probably not expecting to make it, why not go out on his own terms? He took off sprinting, accepting his fate, not minding if he’d succeed or not, so long as it bought a couple extra seconds.
but then

But then Nico saved him, took out six Romans at once. Will was surprised, maybe he didn’t have to die?

It probably gave him the motivation he needed to make it through another war, to keep fighting to be there for his siblings.

Will Solace being made the god of light and hating it because his power was healing at least with healing he could save people but all his light powers allowed him to do was glow and look pretty and just Will Solace growing to love himself, his powers, and his domain

Okay but Prophetic Will Solace already knows everyone’s sexuality/gender before they even know but he has a really hard time remembering who actually came out so he just has this checklist hidden somewhere to make sure he doesn’t accidentally out someone

Will Solace and Sally Jackson have tea every other Tuesday morning and bond over being the adoptive moms of every demigod
