#villain
Follow Grayson Niles btw he’s real funny
My friend offered up the idea of my big epic mad scientist villain Julius falling in love with the hero’s milfy aunt and I think I might care abt them too much now
What if I’m actually the villain?
“I’ve always wondered who you are under the mask.”
“What a coincidence! I’ve wondered the same thing about you. How about you untie me and we’ll pull each other’s masks off on the count of 3?”
“You know that’s not how it works, darling.”
“What a coincidence, that we keep bumping into each other.”
“Coincidence? It’s my job to stop you from taking over the city.”
Namaari made me gayer
heyitskrisssasked:
Is it ever ok to have a POC be the villain? (i also have a POC for my main character)This post is a little more general than your specific circumstance because other people have asked this question and we wanted to be able to help the most amount of people at once.
Of course! The key is to do so in a way that doesn’t contribute to oppressive attitudes that hurt real people. Villainous PoC could go wrong in one of two ways: first of all, if their villainy directly corresponds with a harmful negative trope (see the tropes tag and specific tags for anti-blackness,Islamophobia, and anti-Semitism), and second of all, if they’re the only representative of their group in the story. (Notice that it doesn’t say “as long as you have good PoC you’re fine”, because PoC are not a monolith and positive Asian representation and negative Black representation don’t cancel each other out and would still hurt Black people. For example.) If you MUST have a villainous character of color, please, please, please make sure that character is not the only one of their group because together they’re like ammonia and bleach.
Since your protagonist is also a PoC, you’re already doing part of this. It might be best if you added another character of the same race as the villain in the good guy camp just so it doesn’t seem like the protag can’t trust anyone of their own race, only white people. (Also, you said your MC was a PoC and so was the villain, but that doesn’t mean they’re the same race, so if they’re not, that’s even more of a reason to add another character of the villain’s race to the good guy camp.)

You could have a balanced range of characters so that it is equally likely that any character could be a villain, not because of their skin color, but for the choices they make. Also remember that the villain is the hero of their own story. A villain who believes their actions are justified is a more interesting character than a a dastardly completely evil mustache twirling stereotype or cliche. Otherwise, you should be good to go if you balance your cast. We are not saying you can’t ever write a villainous character of color, but make sure that they too are as well rounded as your other characters. (a beta reader of that group wouldn’t hurt, as always. Colorful Critiques is here to help as well)

[Civilian] watched as [Hero] and [Villain] fought desperately in the setting sun. They watched as they tore at each other with tooth and nail for a trifling prize, something that never really mattered in the first place.
[Civilian] thought back to how the three of them got into this situation in the first place. How [Hero] and [Villain]’s hatred was fueled by a love for [Civilian].
They didn’t love either of them, and it wasn’t a fact they had ever hid from the pair.
Yet they fought. A hero that would save the day and get the object of their affection as a reward. And a villain that would conquer all, including their beloved’s heart.
[Civilian] had tried everything they could to dissuade the pair, and as [Civilian] turned and walked into the swiftly falling night, they hoped their disappearance would finally end the madness.
I hope you enjoy!
[Super Villain] sighed as they let the door click shut. Today went off perfectly, but as far as [Super Villain] was concerned, it was an utter disaster.
They had dreamed of the day they would marry [Hero], they had told [Other Super Villain] many times of their plans to win their love.
They had never planned on [Other Super Villain] blackmailing [Hero] into marrying [Super Villain].
Now, they were left in the shards of their broken dreams in a loveless marriage. Maybe they could think of some way to win [Hero]’s love still..? No, the dirty looks and contempt radiating off of [Hero] the entire time shattered their hope even further. They stared silently at the door as they wallowed in their self-pity, only for their depressive thoughts to be broken by a giggle.
[Super Villain] blinked in confusion before pressing an ear to the door. For a moment, they thought their mind was playing tricks on them until it happened again, more giggling.
“I can’t believe I’m actually married to [Super Villain].” [Hero]’s gleeful voice, “I knew going to [Other Super Villain] was a great idea!”
I hope you enjoy some fluff!
Their plan was working perfectly. A few doey-eyed pleas and some sad story about their nightmare and [Hero] and [Villain] were in the palm of their hand.
[Child] very gently pried themself out of [Hero]’s hold as the two capes snoozed. [Hero], fast asleep, seemed to notice the sudden lack of [Child] and blindly groped for them, only for their arms to wrap themselves around [Villain]. [Heor] pulled [Villain] in close, a happy hum vibrating in [Villain]’s unconscious chest.
Yes, the plan was working absolutely perfectly.
I don’t think I’ve written any in the past, but I can now! I hope you enjoy!
“Well, this is awkward,” [Villain] huffed as they sat down, their soul mark’s glow illuminating the darkened warehouse.
[Hero] frowned at their own soul mark as well, its traitorous flame burning oh so brightly after its brush with its other half.
“So, what do we do?” [Hero] sighed. They didn’t want their other half to be [Villain], and they didn’t know what it said about them that it was. But their soul marks glow burned away any attempt at rebuttal.
“Go on a date, I guess?” [Villain] replied.
“What kind of food do you like?” [Hero] asked as they sat next to [Villain].
“I’m not picky, so it’s your choice.”
[Hero] really didn’t want their soulmate to be [Villain]. But they would eventually.
I hope you enjoy!
“Why does this always seem to happen?” [Hero] smiled sadly at [Villain] from across the divide. Never together, always from across the divide.
“I suppose it’s just fate,” [Villain] replied.
“I don’t believe in that,” [Hero] spoke, “I don’t believe that’s true.”
“Then why does it always end like this?”
“Because…” [Hero] trailed off, “…because I just want what’s best for you.”
“And who are you to decide that?”
“Your friend.”
“If you were really my friend, you’d be next to me,” [Villain] challenged them from across the divide, but [Hero] shook their head.
CW:A bit of NSFW (takes place in a strip club and theres a ‘dancer’, nothing sexual in nature actaully happenshowever)
“[Boss] are we sure this was a good idea? [Villain] isn’t exactly known for being level-headed at the best of times.” the gangster glanced at their boss.
[Boss] huffed a laugh as they sipped their matinee as the dancer waltzed into the private room.
“[Villain]s just some low life that thinks they can make it in the big leagues. If they try anything, they’ll be dead in an instant.”
The dancer swung their leg and slammed it down next to [Boss]’s thigh, the stiletto puncturing the soft leather as they leaned down over [Boss].
[Boss] scowled and opened their mouth to tell the person off, but as soon as they saw the dancer’s face, their blood ran cold.
“Awww,” [Villain] frowned, “I didn’t know you thought about me like that. Guess you’ll just have to make it up to me for being so rude.” [Villain] smiled as they slowly unsheathed the knife on their thigh.
That’s my Maul ♥♥
