Time for more batch posts!! I participated in quarantober shortly after the quarantine started. I had to wait for my workplace to close down, haha. Things were pretty crazy.
I guess for a quicker than usual turnaround for me lately, this was a cathartic piece I did celebrating breaking 1k followers on Instagram. I know it’s not a massive milestone (especially for many) but it was big for me having some mixture of that many people see my art and think, “This is cool, I’m gonna give this art a follow”.
Anyways, hope y'all are staying well in these frustratingly uncertain times, and ignore that pressure to be “productive”; focus on what makes you happy right now and explore it. The world will be as on fire and chaotic as you left it
Guess it’s been a while since everything kicked off and we’ve been sequestered which has honestly put me in a little of an artistic rut, so I started this series of studies to play around some and to hopefully help pull me out of it a bit.
Anyways, like many of you I’m sure, I just finished a [re]run-through of ATLA and I’ve gotta say that show holds up so well, especially in today’s climate. I have nothing but love for it. Back when it aired, the conclusion of the Water book was always a big one for me and I REALLY enjoyed Yue’s design so this was my take on that revisitation. Lore, world building, major character arcs, all of the good stuff
Hey internet, I’m calling on you! If I were to release the little zines/graphics I’ve been making for myself lately onto the internet, would any body care for it? Please let me know if this ever reaches an audience, no matter how small, by supporting this post so I can know if it’s worth putting out there or just keeping to myself.
I visit this painting at Tate Britain with some regularity, perhaps for obvious reasons now, but I’d been infatuated with it long before G and I met. This humble recreation is something I’ve been meaning to do for ages, perhaps even in the very room this was painted, but this quarantine version in my bedroom will do for now.
Every year I make an illustrated holiday card and send out about 200 of them to friends, family and people in the Wasteland Weekend community. This is the first year I cannot. I just recently came into contact with Covid and while I’m not showing any symptoms yet, I am under quarantine (I’m getting tested tomorrow).
So, since the risk is too high I can’t send out any physical cards this year but I did still create an illustration. Consider this a digital holiday card from me to you. Stay safe and stay home this holiday season.
