LIVE

It’s important to find joy where you can in hard times. Today for me that looked like spending an hour browsing a used bookstore and buying these lovely finds. Take time for yourself, away from your phone. You deserve some peace.

Some days are heavier than others, that’s okay. Give yourself grace to rest when needed, cry when needed, and laugh at the mess of the world when needed.

there is no woke or acceptable way to put conditions on which abortions are allowed! individual choices about your fucking body are not the same as eugenics! abortion on demand without apology!

White vegan types who shit their pants and cry and throw up about a prey animal being killed for food/hide/etc and then love plastic and slave labor are maybe some of the stupidest bitches on earth sorry

“I won’t eat honey because it exploits the bees :(” & where did your quinoa come from

Uh oh girls I got the pleather fandom after me for this one

I know many lovely people who don’t eat meat or limit their meat consumption for ethical reasons and even they shy away from the term vegan because of stuff like this.

Sometimes pharmaceutical reps bring free food to the place where I intern at. And yes, pharmaceutical companies are evil but I will eat the free Panera Bread they bring.

A man named Wynn Alan Bruce used self immolation (settings oneself on fire) in front of the Supreme Court to protest government inaction on fighting climate change. This method of protest was made famous by Buddhists monks protesting the atrocities of the Vietnam War. Our Earth will be destroyed because saving it is not profitable. The government will not make the news of this man’s sacrifice and its reason well known, they don’t want it to be known. Destroy capitalism, save the earth. Rest in power Wynn.

“Yeah, That’s What She Said” is a weekend-long space of collectively self-organize

“Yeah, That’s What She Said” is a weekend-long space of collectively self-organized sliding scale arts programming and community events by and for women.

Last year we launched “Yeah, That’s What She Said!”, a collectively self-organized women-lead event. Over three days in March, 300+ people came together for an all women’s art show, public events, screenings, and women-only workshops. Through community support, we were able to raise just enough money to pull it all off, and fostered impactful, lasting connections amongst radical women artists, organizers, makers and minds.

This year, in addition to our overall mission, we are centering work and programming that focuses on: BLACK, BROWN AND TRANS WOMEN’S LIVES MATTER. Our curatorial team will be looking particularly for work from black, brown and trans women.

There will be by-donation events that are open to the entire public, as well as sliding-scale workshops that are exclusively women’s spaces. (Although we are taking sliding scale at the door, we want everyone to be able to come, so NO ONE is turned away!)

This is a super valuable event to support. They are still a ways out from reaching their fundraising goal.
