i want to grow. i want these bruises to bloom into skin untouched, unbroken. i want to tie up the scars, wear them around my neck like a souvenir: i went here, and there, and i survived. i want to choke up the words i left unsaid, place them on a platter and let everyone else struggle to swallow them down. i want to take my smile, strip off the fake, turn it into something real. i want “i’m fine” to dive off my tongue, i want it to grab every lie i’ve ever told and make it’s way out of my throat. i want the sadness to drown in my eyes, i want the darkness to be killed by the light. i want to heal. i want to blossom. i want to strip this skin and start again.
